wasn't it four times? first the kiss on the forehead... then one, two and three... i must have watched it over and over for an hour b4 i slept at 130am... and this morning, watched it again for another 30 mins. b4 deciding to get up for work...
it was the most memorable event in the W/T history! the kiss finally
happened and we are all happy kittens! the first time i saw
it on the wallpaper, i couldn't move for several minutes and gasped "OMG,
they kissed!" and still couldn't believe it until now!
i can hardly wait to see the kissy pic here on the board. (i mean up there on the message board poster.)

OMG! i couldnt believe it either. It was so nonchalant. I know i wasnt expecting it! it totally caught me off guard! That whole dorm room scene was the best! willows "what should i wear" thing was so funny and sad all at the same time. and i love anya's freak out too!

I watched that kiss like...over and over. It was just soo sweet and I wasn't expecting it. The whole episode is just amazing! I had class from 4 to 10 and so I got home around 10:30 and the first thing I did was watch Buffy, and afterwards I was still so jazzed that they kissed that I had trouble sleeping. I was just laying there going "Wow!"
Totally awesome. The season keeps getting better and better.

i am so glad that i taped last nights episode!!! i've watched the willow/tara scene like... i lost count.
on another note.. i had a heated discussion today with on of my friends about last night's episode. she thought the kiss was totally uncalled for and disgusting. i personal thought it was beautiful and it couldn't have been more of a right time. tara was so caring and sensitive and supportive. tara was so strong last night, it just shows how much good she is bring to the show. and when willow said tara's name, i melted. it was such a beautiful scene. not to mention, they KISSED!! i totally agree with all the other kittens about how this will hopefully lead to some tummy-rubbing action.
i think willow and tara are the perfect couple and i wish that someday i will have a relationship like theirs with my own willow or tara, i know you're out there somewhere!! (speaking on the behalf of someone who is still in the closet

Everything is pretty much the same.
Except for Tara kisses Willow on
the cheek and I think there is only one kiss instead of three. So it
worked out for us for a change!
One thing I didn't notice was when
Xander was washing off his hand after he punched
the wall, Willow
mouthed "I Love You" to Tara.

I am content now. Joss came through for us and delivered what we have all been waiting for in such a caring and sensitive manner. The kiss was so tender, so loving, it was absolutely marvelous.
I also want to say I love the new picture that's been added to the

i know my impression may not be as accurate as yours - cause you guys actually saw the scene and i only saw a part of it in my pc =*( - but what was more perfect for me was the need i saw at willow's face. i remember quite well a few months ago when my granny died - and i was very close to her - that all i wanted was to rest my head or kiss the lips of the one i love,to try to make it go away so i could think again. unfortunatelly i was not so lucky and the one i needed was in brussels while i was here.

I am dutch btw, but my grannie was German, and I have an aunt who lives in Rensburg with her family. I have seen all the S4 eps (and the previous seasons) + Family from S5. But I read all the spoilers here, so I know pretty much all of what will happen, at least where Willow and Tara are concerned.
By wayward I meant, that maybe you were from the States and simply living in Germany.
Don't you get the BBC or some non-german speaking channel? I have not been to Germany for years now, we used to go every year when I was a kid. Oh I had better stop now. I *will* email you I think.

Last night I saw someone post on the USEnet the claim that Willow and Tara didn't "really" kiss because their lips didn't actually meet. They kinda missed and ended up kissing other parts of their faces, and so it doesn't really count.
Do these people really believe the massive amounts of denial-BS
they're throwing out, or has it simply become a game to see how many
people they can tick off?

the kiss on the lips denotes: i love you! i love you! i love you! (well, duh!?)
Willow calms down as Tara says: We can do this and We can be strong...
thus Willow responds by saying the "i love you" whisper as if to say

Ok, back to the kiss and back to the saliva (sorry April and Ruth).
I see 2 spit incidents. One small one after the second Kiss, from Willow top lip to Tara mouth, hence Tara's spit.
Second one of course is the string going from Willowmouth to
Tarabottomlip. I thin this one belongs to Willow. Of course it's all
probably well mixed by now so it's likely both theirs
Okay Xita, I disagree with you again today. Hmmm, I hope this won't become a pattern.
It is my belief the spit is Tara's. See most saliva accumulates in the
bottom of the mouth. It is Newton's famous law of gravity after all: spit
sinks to the bottom.
Willow has her upper lip inside Tara's mouth
here, sucking on Tara's *lower* lip, and when she removes her lips, she
takes with her some Tara spit.
To be absolutely sure and scientifically
grounded, we should do some more research to determine from whom a spit
string would eminate, if one is kissed like that. And to be statistically
significant Willow and Tara should kiss at least a thousand times or so. I
volunteer to review the data.
This I am willing to do in the name of science. It is not a sacrifice really. I studied for this after all.

Excuse me Xita, but I beg to differ. When one is somewhat excited, one excretes more saliva. It is called drooling. Drool is much more liquid than spit. It is my assumption that when one is kissing ones gorgeous co-star 400 times, one might get excited and therefore increase the saliva production. It is an autonomous reaction. Absolutely normal. Nothing wrong with it.
And Roxton, I already said, they need to kiss at least 600 more times,
so we can be *absolutely* sure about this. But please people, leave this
up to me. I can handle the data. Trust me, I am a professional.

What you all seem to have overlooked here is the NEED to take the sample data from live subjects. Taped data is not accurate enough given the graininess of the film. We will have to inspect lips and tongues and amount of spital produced by each person. I say with get them do re-do all 400+ kisses infront of a select panel. Now DrG I am willing to allow you to lead the panel, just don't get greedy. Research is also part of my job.

Alright, I just finished reading all the posts regarding the "Great Spit Debate" and decided to add my 2 cents.
), I have concluded that they swapped
saliva in the first couple of kisses as they locked lips. But, since
Willow ended up basically sucking on Tara's lower lip, when they parted
her lips kinda dragged a string of that mingled saliva with her. So, the
results I came up with are kind of a combo of different arguments from
other people.

I've read that there are some little articles or mentions of "outraged parents--lebsian activity on TV!" Willow and Tara are not a sudden new couple. They've been an *official* couple since NMR--and they're just NOW bitching about it simply because, like people in love are known to do now and then, they KISSED? Our world is so ****ed up.
But, off my soapbox, it was a brilliant scene. Aly hasn't been that fantastic since NMR...no, she was better then she was in NMR. It was such a wonderful scene...I cry all throughout the episode, but when it sort of hits Willow that they have to be strong for Dawn too, I just break down. But Tara comforts her [rose]

Garfield what can I say, I'm obsessed with this project.
The way I see it the project requires someone with the ability to stay
cool, calm and collected in the face of overwhelming passion, completely
objective in the face of intoxicating beauty and has the stamina to face
hour after hour of endless Smoochies. The reality is that no living person can
possibly face such a daunting task and succeed without the support of
their fellow kitties.
Roxton, we have to hire someone with that objective POV to watch W/T kiss for atleast 10 x 10 to the 10th degree! i betcha if they're making their observations, they would definitely drool and faint the first second Willow and Tara's lips touch! heh.heh. then we'd have to hire another, then another, then another.... until we ran out of lab coats to get us through the research... heh.heh.

I made alittle GIF of the kiss... It takes a million bagillion minutes to load but just open the link, do something else on the net, and go back and it should be all loaded.

Just read something interesting at the Fanforum newsboard.
TVGuide Online interviewed Joss Whedon, who stated that, in fact, the WB were very reluctant to show the kiss, and asked him to delete it! JW had meeting with them and basically told them "It stays or I walk!". They then supposedly "reviewed" the final cut and decided to air it.
Hmmmmm......guess the WB isn't quite so enlightened as we'd like to think.
