(US) One last post this morning (morning to me, I realize). I know we have a profile sheet available to everyone who is registered here but I thought it might be nice for folks to spend a little time introducing themselves in a way the profile form doesn't allow. If you're comfortable, let folks know your name, where you live, what intrigured you about Buffy, why you like to post or lurk around here and where we can find nude pictures of you on the internet. My name is Zelda though some folks call me Alabama. When I'm with my sister, we are normally called the Alabama girls. I live just outside of San Francisco (you can see the City from my beach) and I make movies and direct plays and boss around my friends and family members (oldest child). I have always liked Buffy. From the beginning I enjoyed the witty banter and the subtle metaphorical presentation of life in the city. I only became involved in the Buffy Internet community with the advent of the Willow and Tara relationship. As I've said many times, I very much enjoy the community that sprung up around W/T. That's why Xita and I started this Board. We like y'all and we like discussing minute details of the show in silly and philosophical ways. I'm looking forward to sharing opinions with y'all about the show this coming season. If my work heats up over the next few months, I may not have the time to post like I did this summer but I promise to keep an eye on the Board and check in from time to time. For now, y'all have my attention and electronic affection. Welcome to all. Let's have a bunch of fun!!!!

(US) Hi, my name's Bob, although I answer to Robert as well. I actually think Bob sounds better, but Robert looks better on paper. Yes, I know I obsess about things that many people don't. I grew up in Indianapolis, went to college in Nashville, lived in Philadelphia and Oklahoma City for a while each and now I've lived in Pasadena CA for most of the past 11 years. I'm in charge of wall oven design for DACOR (http://www.dacor.com), hence my nick. What first attracted me to Buffy was the concept - instead of running away screaming, the girl beats up the monster instead. What got me hooked was the writing. When I heard the line, "Now this is not going to be pretty. We're talking violence, strong language and adult content," in the pilot episode, I knew I was a goner. Once upon a time, I wrote for a little cable series called You Can't Do That On Television. I had hopes of being a writer in Hollywood, but I ended up concluding Hollywood wasn't worth the bother. I do have hopes of writing full-time someday, but for now I'm content to write Buffyfic. I've already said elsewhere what got me into W/T specifically, so I won't bore you by repeating it. I do agree with Zelda that the community that has sprung up around W/T is incredible. Uhhh... okay I'm done now...

(US) Hello. My name is Darin and I'm a Buffyholic. I have lived in the northwestern part of Atlanta, Georgia for all of my 31 years. It's a great place to live except for the traffic. Ooooooohhh, the traffic. I'm a Webmaster/Acquisitions agent for a university library. I used to play in local bands and performance art groups and I now write songs and send them to publishers in hopes of getting folx to record them. I also do freelance writing in print and on the Web. What first attracted me to BTvS was the superficial beauty: cool special effects, lighting and editing; pretty people wearing cool clothes; a great soundtrack. It didn't take long for me to get into the great dialogue, stories and characters soon after. Then came the realization that there was a subtle feminist message to be gleaned from the show - and I've been addicted ever since. I never posted regularly anywhere until W/T came along and I found this board. I think it's great! You folks are really cool to hang out with. Although I should probably find some real live friends too. Hmmm... There are currently no pictures of me nude on the internet, which is a
real shame because I've been working out recently and I'm beginning to
look like a greek god. [This message has been edited by darvangi (edited 09-11-2000).]

I work as a temporary secretary in the personnel department at Cambridge University, which is mind-numbingly boring to say the least. I've watched 'Buffy' from the first season. I don't really go in for character-hating: I even like Riley, heaven help me. Other than the W/T relationship (I worship and adore both Amber and Aly), my major obsession is Wesley and I run a Yahoo! club called Defenders of Wesley: http://clubs.yahoo.com/clubs/defendersofwesley Oh and btw tyche is the name of the Roman goddess of luck. It's pronounced 'tay-kay'. That's your useless fact for today. I think that's about it...

I have one of those jobs where no one besides me really knows or understands what I do but they just know that they have problems if I stop. I write fanfic under a nom de plume which I enjoy immensely which helps me get by the fact that I really hate my job. I'm hoping to turn the experience I'm gaining in writing fanfic into skills I can use to become a full time writer. I go to the cinema quite a lot (2-3 times a week if I'm working, more often (like 2-3 times a day) if I'm not). I got into Buffy because I had seen Sarah in Cruel Intentions and noticed that she was in the show. I'm gald I did. I adore both Willow and Tara, although in a big brother/best friend sort of way. I think Amber is wonderful. Like the sig says I'm fat, ugly and bald. (US) Hello. I'm Len. Erm..I support the computer systems at a think tank in Cambridge Massachusetts for a living...and I write. Occasionally. Not for a living. For personal fulfilment. But then I usually erase it, because the idea of actual human eyes reading my work mortifies me. Imagine a tiny defenseless woodland creature peering from it's burrow, nose a quivering, that's me contemplating showing folks my writing. I'd love to be a professional writer, but the whole "erasing 90 percent of everything you ever write" bit is problematic. Lately I've been messing with CG art, which is interesting..cats, have I mentioned cats? Love them...and..oh, a whole wide variety of the usual geek interests, anime, hong kong cinema, video games, computer junk in general. (The Buffy tie in, shouldn't forget that.) I love Buffy. The show, not the character. I suppose the character is okay, but she's not really why I watch it. Love Willow. The character, obviously, since she doesn't have her own eponymously titled show. Though she should. Possibly in a later timeslot so the WB can allow her a reasonable love life. I like other things about the show as well, the writing, the humor, the ethnic diversity*cough*. Love Aeryn Sun. Who is not a Buffy character, she's on Farscape, which is, I know, not really the topic at hand, but she sits next to Willow in my mental fanboy media crush gallery, so I'll mention her, such that you know a bit more about me now, which was the point of Zelda's request, so blame Zelda. Okay, big finish...there are no nude pictures of me on the internet, which is a blessing really, as I am not, as Opus would say, a come-hither-esque beauty. On the other hand, my breath does not smell of herring, so I'm up on him I suppose. -len 'remember, blame Zelda' Hugin

I am starting my 6th year of teaching at an elementary school. For the first time I am teaching 1st grade, very exciting. Previously to this, I had an obsession with lesbian movies, http://glweb.com/lesbianflicks . Yes I know I need to update. One day I will. I started watching Buffy during the third season. Other than lurking on Usenet I hadn't participated in the Buffy online community. W/T changed that and here we are. In 4 years of hanging out online, I had never found such a nice welcoming community. It's been nice and I have met many nice people!

For the last few years, I've been working in the office of a small furniture store, which would be kinda boring but the people I work for and with are really great. I first got into online fandom with Xena a few years ago- I discovered this whole new world. Mailing lists, posting boards, I even built a website, went to my first convention (which is something I *never* thought I'd do, but which turned out to be fun)And then this last year, I discovered Buffy. I'd watched one or two eps before, but never really gotten hooked. This year, I watched living conditions, and was intrigued. I think I really got hooked after WAH, though. Aly was so great. And of course, I feel for Tara the minute she showed up in Hush. I love Buffy- love the idea of the strong female hero who is, nonetheless, quite flawed at times. Love the writing and acting. The characters and the relationships they have with each other are very real. I just love the mix of drama, comedy, and horror/camp. The show works in so many ways.

(US) Okay...what's to know. You already know who my sister is so nothing new there. And you can probably tell what kind of childhood I had growing up with HER bossing me around! Being of Irish descent, (complete with a great-grandfather who was chased over to the colonies by the British with his soapbox in hand) I have pink skin, red hair, green eyes and a name destined to be mispronounced - hence Stella. MUCH easier than Siobhan! Hmmm...I'm 31, self-employed (most writers are), have 2 horses and 2 cats, and more computer equipment than I can shake a stick at. (In a previous life, I worked for a large computer company and my friends still keep me well fixed in technology.) I write fiction for a living but my sister is polishing a script right now. This is a new lifestyle for me. Kinda weird not being at someone else's beck and call, but I'm really loving it. (Only reason I could handle a party in LA on a Monday night!) My sister drags me into all her projects and pays me in coffee and doughnuts. (Note to self - talk to sister about a raise!) Let's see... went to UC Irvine - got 3 degrees (languages, marketing), figure skated for 17 years (how I ended up in California from Alabama) and briefly tried my hand at musical theatre (dancing and acting was fine...singing...well....). Still dance whenever I get the chance. Oh yeah...the whole Buffy angle.....I was dragged into it kicking and screaming by my sister this past July!! I was in the Bay area on business (whadaya mean more edits???) and spent the weekend (literally) getting indoctrinated. Now I'm hooked. Love everything about the show and record both Buffy and Angel on Tuesday nights. I bought both the Slayer Chronicles and the Angel Chronicles from Amazaon.com then waited impatiently for them to arrive two days later. Can't get enough. I'm sick. I've even been playing around with Photoshop (thanks to Hollowchick) and have been designing Buffy and Angel covers for my downloaded CDs. They're not bad, if I say so myself. So, those are my obsessions...my work, my horses and Buffy/Angel. It's a small, little life, but I like it. Stella - just wanting to be Z when I grow up!

I used to be quite the creative persona: singing/songwriting, acting, writing, and drawing were just a few of my active pursuits. I currently work for a small Technology Research/Publishing and Consulting firm. I do copyediting, layout, and some web work. Prior to W/T I only watched Buffy in channel surfing mode -- half an ep here, half an ep there. But once I heard about W/T I was instantaneously hooked. I even went to the synopsis sites and read up on the 3 seasons I missed. I guess I'm kind of proud of my northern roots, but my grandmother is from Irish descent (as are most Catholics around the north of England)so there's a Celtic thing going on in the family that usually manifests itself in loud, rather impassioned arguments between me and my mum. Most of the time we get along just fine though. She's a sweetie. Crazy....but a sweetie. I went to Sheffield and Liverpool universities to study and...er...play. I sometimes write stuff, as most of you know. I like lots of things...not all of them legal, but all of them fun. I'm allergic to cats but make a real effort for friends. I've recently filmed a series of comedy sketches for an internet tv channel, which has been taken up by the producer for a daily shoot (hurrah), so my efforts may be concentrated on that in the near future. I have always been intrigued with the more intelligent, well written series on tv, and have watched Buffy on and off throughout the third season. A gay friend of mine was Buffy obsessed so he made me watch for a while until the Bufflove kicked in. Since then I've been a firm fan and am still smarting from the whole Emmy's incident. Poor Joss. Poor Buffy. Guess that's it. Oh. I really like Fuse bars. And chocolate milk. And I'm going on holiday to Chicago in October...my first time in the states. I'm easily excitable and get very giddy when overtired. Does this sound too much like a personals ad? I'm worrying now.....

(US) Introduction? Okay, let's see. I go by Ari (or Ariana - but that was taken for this
board). I'm usually a lurker on the willtara list but for some odd reason
I've gone from being a spoilerholic to suddenly spoilerphobic with Buffy
stuff, so I pretty much stay in deep lurk and just go to the egroups site
to read the messages any more for fear of being spoiled. I think it's partly that I don't want to know what Tara's secret is, and want to watch and be surprised. I found that the amount of information that came along last year when I started getting involved in the Buffy fandom was really sort of overwhelming. I'm something of a refugee from Xena fandom, where I've been fairly active for years and can't seem to help my addiction (even though last season sucked so incredibly badly). And there it's mainly the Gabrielle character that I've always been most interested in, because (like Tara in some ways) she reminds me so much of myself. Specifics: Well, I'm a 28 yr old female. I live with my partner in the
middle of nowhe...err Oklahoma. I'm a writer (or trying to be one), and have been sort of trying to find my voice with that for a while. I've always been a Buffy fan, but it's really the Tara character that got me interested in being involved in the online fandom. I think it's the shyness, combined with the great sense of mystery about her. (And, of course, Amber's incredible coolness. *G*) But I also have always really dug Faith. That's about all I can think of. I'll be lurkin' around.

(US) Well, I am obviously a non-registered lurker, who can't keep their opinion to themselves enough to maintain the lurker status. I have my definite opinion on just about everything, but I don't hold-it against anyone for having a differing POV, in fact I appreciate people who have their own individual way of doing/saying things-as long as they can respect me for the same reason. I am a huge Tara/Willow fan. I am currently writing a part 2 to the Demon in The Closet: http://pinkrabbit.simplenet.com/subtextfic/buffy/cds218/demoninthecloset.htm (yes, even more T/W fan-fiction). Which I hope to use as a spring-board to launch the newest BTVS spin-off (tentatively titled) "T&W: The Power of Two!" I have aspirations to have my own syndicated radio show-an "Open House Party" with John Garabedian: http://www.openhouseparty.com/ type deal. However, I have first got to get a radio station to hire me and give me the experience/training I need. I have, to date, sent at least 1000 e-resumes with "demo".wav(s) to the Program Directors of the USA. Um, I would say I am more suited to writing, even though I have a tendency to write 50 to 75 pages and find myself stuck in a lazy streak. I have 5 currently un-finished projects awaiting my attention to return. I, also, write poetry. I am rambling, but you still don't know the half of it. But, I'll direct you to some magnificent artwork: http://www.geocities.com/se_hammond/gallery.html http://www.fred.net/joellen/index.html http://joellen.artistnation.com/ the artist does pet portraits, the prints and other such merchindise is currently available for purchase. In case your wondering, YES! I am IN-LOVE with MY soulmate, who is IN-LOVE with ME and we are going to spend eternity together. I am sure there's something I've forgotten. Check all the current post.......because I've got some opinions/you can learn more about me(not much, but some). Well, that's me in a nut-shell. Ever since I saw "The Freshmen" I was hooked, and have spent more time than I care to admit getting caught up on seasons 1-3 and just basically submerging myself in all things Buffy. (US) Adding to the introduction 0 My name is Little Willow and I've been watching BtVS since day one. With my username based upon Willow, it's obvious who was my favorite character as soon as the series premiered back in 1997. I've been an avid fan ever since. I'm female and I'm an actress stuck working in retail right now to save money to move to Los Angeles and pursue my career there. (I'm already on the West Coast and so close...but so far away.) I act, sing, dance, write (songs, screenplays, poems, plays, shows), direct and more. I enjoy reading, watching movies, listening to music - all things that encompass my personal passions. You've never seen me in anything national - yet - but luckily I have a few other pro credits to my name so far. I'm credited as co-writer for the lyrics to "Watching You," a song by Velvet Chain, I helped out with and was in their video for "Beyond Time," and I also help them out with promotion, etc etc. I'll trek down to LA every so often to work for them a week or two at a time. And I work for Christopher Golden, a novelist. You'll see more about that later. I'm sharing another quick thing since we have many movie/theatre folks here: I fought tooth and nail last year to put on a play I wrote. Once I finally was granted the use of the theatre, the traumas continued. Let me tell you, we had to practice outside. In the cold. On the pavement. And here I was, directing, writing, acting, choreographing with a few folks flaking out (oh, it was lovely when one of the mains left about 2 weeks before opening night) and many people having egos the size of Sunnydale - but we got it done. Somehow, we got through it. And the performances of the show were one of the highlights of my life. One of the few moments where I saw my dreams come true. So don't you EVER let anyone tell you something can't be done. If you can dream it, you can do it. Follow your heart. I have a website entitled Little Willow's Slayground website dedicated to the show BtVS and now spinoff Angel as well. The site branched out - some folks offered me jobs (Christopher Golden, author; Velvet Chain, band) - and now the Slayground includes various subsites which are comprehensive looks at people who work on the shows, be they actors, actresses, authors (the books/comics/companions), bands. I run Amber's website http://www.amberbenson.net/ or, other way: http://www.efanguide.com/~amber called The Essence of Amber. I don't get paid for this whatsoever. I refuse. Amber has done so much for me as a friend and supporter that I can never repay her good deeds. In my life, I have not found many people have similar dreams, goals and desires as mine, and I am so lucky to have crossed paths with Amber. She makes darn sure I don't put myself down and I make darn sure she doesn't put herself down. It's much fun. In any event, I don't have the best self esteem (which is just not the best thing to NOT have in this business where most people are out to promote themselves and here I am, saying, "I suck...") I'm entirely too busy, I do entirely too much, and I think entirely too much. But that's me. ------------------ We Possess Willow Power

(US) HI!!! I think I am nearing the point of a professional lurker, but everyone on this list just seemed so nice, and they actually seemed to like each other. So, I decided to take the chance and sign on. I'm Evie. I'm from St. Louis, where I work in advertising. I'm 27 years old and live my girlfriend of eight years in a house with two dogs and two cats. We are both absolutely obsessed with the Willow/Tara relationship. And what else. . . . I love this list! That's it. BYE

(US) Hohoho a little late but nonetheless I shall introduce myself... Howdy folks my name is Jennifer, been lurkin recently but have come to the decision now would be a good time to show my little face. Im currently 20 years old, a third year genetics major at the
wonderfully crazy UC Berkeley, Cal to those in the know. As for Buffy...cant say ive been a longtime fan...but that it was the whole Willow/Tara development that brought me on board. It took me a week to trade enough anime to collect seasons 1-4 and of course I succumbed to the goddesses that are Willow and Tara! Its amazing how genuine and sincere their relationship is...Amber and Aly do a fab job. It makes me shiver when things they do remind me of me and my own girlfriend. One last thing, HELLyes those two should be going to Cal! Not UCSC...they have the minds which would be more appreciated here! Yay for brilliant gorgeous crunchy Berkeley girls!!!!!!!! (ok im biased...)

(US) I wanted to wait unti we got to 100 before I posted. My name is Paula and I am an American living in New Zealand. I am one
of the more mature (age wise only) people in this wacky group of W/T
lovers. I am in the IT industry (and have beeen since before dirt). I have
been watching Buffy since day 1 but just joined the Buffy internet circle
when Tara appeared. Yup the day after I saw Hush I jumped on the net and
started to search for all things Buffy. let's see...I love the
following(not in any order): Archaeology (hey I was there), Music,
Xena(well actually Renee), Voyager (J/7 and B/7...hey 7 gets around),
Movies, Art, Theatre, watching some sports (rugby, handball, basketball
and field hocky), anything metaphysical, Reading (FF has had my attention
most of the time recently), yacking with friends and hanging online with
the W/T sweeties. Cheers

(US) Hey everyone, I've been lurking around since the board started, and now my exams are done with I can post an intro. I'm Bernie, 17, live in the wonderful sunny island state of Singapore. If you're wondering, that's in South East Asia. Yeah, that's right, about half the hemisphere away from most of you guys (except you all in Australia). We get Buffy here too, and I love the Willow/Tara pairing, and this board with all its enthusiastic members is a godsend. Love it! Bern
