~FIRST LOVE~
Life's little unexpected gifts,
are the things we hope for, for its lifts.
We close our eyes, and hug our chests.
To hope and pray, then finally rest.
To receive these gifts, are great but rare.
To kindle a spark in her vacant stare.
Friendship is grand, but love is astounding.
To look in her eyes, while my heart's busy pounding.
The basic ease of talking, becomes a chore.
To stutter, and stammer, and want much more.
To think of what to do and say.
When to ask in just the right way.
Will she give me a chance to prove it's real?
Or will it be just an unsealed deal?
Will she look in my eyes to see what I see?
Will my feelings be mutual, or is it just me?
I finally asked her what she thought and felt.
Then I looked to the ceiling, down on my knees I knelt.
I thanked god up above for what she had said.
My shaking hands together, on the floor, near the bed.
She had me stand and look in her eyes.
She placed both her hands on both of my thighs.
For the first time, I noticed the sparkle was there.
I couldn't pull myself from her loving glare.
I knew this was unique and rare.
For two women to match, and fit like a pair.
I looked at her caringly, and told her "I love you".
And, that unexpected gift came when she said "I love you too".
I then knew it would never again feel like this.
I leaned over her, held her, and gave her a kiss.
She's my baby, my honey, my pure white dove,
my friend, my lover, she's my first true love.
Thank you for reading,
