Swa, truly sorry if you feel like your head is getting bit off for mentioning that it's a possiblity that Tara may die.
As Buffy Fans, hell...as t.v. fans, I think we all acknowledge anything can happen - ESPECIALLY on Buffy.
However this board is frequented by die hard W/T fans. Ever go to a Spike Centric board and say "Everyone pretty much think Spike has Toast written on his forehead."
OR....ever go to an AA meeting and shout "FREE DRINKS on the house."
You're going to get hard looks to say the least.
The folks here, myself included, are deeply invested in Willow and Tara. This board has always been about hope, or postive thoughts/comments for these two characters.
When we hear - yet another - Tara is going to die speculation, everyone gets a little worked up. It's been happening for the last two years - and yes, I'd be lying if I said that AB NOT having a contract does take away some of the security blanket.
It's kind of like hearing a friend might die. On the one hand, IF it is ever going to really happen - yes - I would rather know in advance. But if it all amounts to gossip, then why get everyone upset over nothing?
I realize that you were stating an opinion (your own educated guess) and everyone has a right to do that. But given this board's mission statement, I'm hoping you'll understand the emotional reaction to any such speculation on Tara. Half of the folks refer to Willow and Tara as "our girls."
This isn't a general Buffy site and we have never pretended we do NOT have a bias toward certain characters. We do. We like it that way.

Not a problem. I'll be sure that in the future anything I post will be nothing but glowing responses to BBOven's on set reports (since, technially, those are the only real reliable sorces...everything else is hearsay)and I'll never dare to speculate on anyone's spoilers. I see that you've said nothing to anyone else about any of their speculation, which is just mighty convenient, being that I don't post a lot for the very reason that I don't tend to agree with the dictatorship of the board. I never said he was 100%, infallible, or never wrong. I still don't see what the big deal was over my original post, or why it got blown way out of proportion, but again, I'm the only one being chastised when anyone who had a problem, could have just ignored it. I was never a proponent of Tara dying, I simply stated that perhaps everyone shouldn't get so cocky about the recent sides including Tara in them because a reliable...yes, Herc is still considered reliable by anyone who has followed him long enough...source said that SOMEONE will die in an upcoming ep. Not TARA...SOMEONE!
So, they shouldn't be surprised if the other shoe drops.
That was all it was meant to be, but because I didn't walk in carrying my "Tara/Willow 4-Eva" shirt, it gets turned into a board battle.
Either way, you don't have to worry about me posting anymore, I learned my lesson...Bad Swa, don't defy the Board Monitors or they're favorites with the inside goods.

Xita, I will drop it. Even if I got a personal fax from Joss tomorrow stating that Tara was going to die, I wouldn't post it here, because I see the reprecutions of such a thing.
Again, I apologize for anything I said that was offensive. I just stepped back, counted to ten and I now feel much better about it and a bit remorseful for allowing myself to get worked up, when I should have just ignored any responses.

this has happened twice now in this thread, and people have gotten their feelings hurt over it. i've been on this board long enough to know that no one here wants to intentionally hurt someone's feelings. we all want to enjoy the haven from other, less friendly btvs sites that this board has created. anyone who is a willow, tara or w/t fan is welcome to post here. just leave your posts that try and convince us why tara will die somewhere else. that way, everyone's happy.

The point here is not that people are posting "spoilers" about Tara's death. It's that people are posting the same unsubstantiated rumor we've been seeing forever with no new information. If Joss faxed you with information, I'd sure want to know about it, whatever it was. Of course, I'd question how we could be sure it was Joss... but that's just how I am.

Your logic escapes me... There's a big difference between SOMEONE dying and TARA dying. We're happy because Tara's still alive and your response is to say "Someone's going to die neener neener neener?" What's up with that?
We've had speculation about who's going to die in this thread. We've discussed many characters. It's all been speculation, though, because there are no FACTS to suggest that anyone is going to die, let alone that it's Tara. When FACTS come along, we'll discuss them. So far, that hasn't happened.

What's the point in speculating as to who will die? The most credible source we have, AngelX, hasn't said anything about any death in episodes 15, 16, 17 yet. Herc said episode 15 may see a death, episode 16 will be, and now, I've just read this on TBCS, that someone will die in episode 17. Herc's words are NOT the words of someone is confident in their statements, if he was, then he would have told us who is going to die by now. He told us way back in July that Willow would become Season Big Bad, so what's different now?
Did UPN actually say anything regarding Seth's return? From my recollection, it is Wanda who is spreading the news that Seth may return, not UPN. The only other person who even suggested his return was Marti Noxon, who said the only two possibilities for returns were Seth and Marc, and that they couldn't get Eliza to come back.
I'd just chill if I were were you. The chances of a major Scooby being killed off are highly unlikely since we have no secure evidence that a Scooby will die. My bet is if anyone is to die, then it will be a character will Jonathan or something.

Second, the reason everyone is so happy that Tara is in 16, is cause her not being in it could mean she was lying in a dumpster somewhere and no one knew she died. (Ok, not exactly, but you get the idea)

I have totally participated in this cycle so I am not mocking any kitty who has been upset/freaked out/analyzed minutiae/reduced stress thru Tito/Xander fantasizing etc. But I honestly am starting to not give a rat's ass. Maybe this is a blessing in disguise... because on the off chance that Tara does die I will be so numbed and desensitized to the pain from witnessing the endless battles and carnage that I will be devoid of any capacity for human feeling.
In the meantime this is getting toxic and it feels like we're stuck in a time loop. What if we don't respond to Joe Unregistered next time s/he decides to play devil's advocate? What if we just stick to this thread being about sharing and discussing spoilers that exist (i.e. substantiated info)? That's why I come into this thread in the first place.
Or start a thread labelled TOXIC WASTE: Devil's Advocates vs. Kitties and let the fighting and blood letting run amok in that thread... replant the posts of the "Unregistered Voices of Reason" into that thread so people who want to keep fighting and proving them wrong can do it there. I am just so tired of coming into a spoiler thread and seeing post after post of the same arguments. It takes over everything, eclipses any other news, gets people upset and worked up, and throws the whole thread into crisis mode -- sucking our valuable energy.
If this post pisses people off, well, I'm very sorry. I just cannot take this anymore. And my suggestions are probably totally unreasonable but this has just become unreal to me.
I understand if you wanna delete this.

Oh Judy I am so right there with you. I just wrote pretty much the same thing to a friend (but not the same words and much shorter). I got through about 1 page of the new 3 pages of this thread and thought to myself "this is it! I've had it! Who gives a flying F*** anymore?!? Joss could come down from his place in heaven (or wherever) and sit on my lap and tell me all about the remainder of the season. I would toss him on his ass and tell him I will believe it when I see it!"
