Remembering "Family"

Postby Eyes Without A Face » Thu Jan 03, 2002 7:05 pm

I just watched it on Space! and will probably watch it again at 2am. Great episode but my viewing was marred by a few noticeable frame-rate changes. Grrrrrr... I hate it when I notice such stuff. I wished that the syndicated episodes were shown from tapes, no slowing of the motion, no skipping, no blurring. If my home DVD doesn't skip, why does the obviously professional equipment used by a network do it? That happens with many shows on other stations too and it's a major pet peeve of mine. I swear, at times it looks as if they're running on Cyrix cpus.

Still, the dance was... THE DANCE!

And Glory is just adorable, which is probably why her minions adore her.

That song was about her TV??? Hee hee. I did not know that, well it does not matter. It is now and will always be about Willow and Tara, every line fits them to perfection. I can prove it as well.
In case anybody here missed it, visit Gabs_HoPe's site and download the music video she made of the song using all the great W/T scenes at the time. Ah and download all the others as well if you do not have them. They rock.

But I loved watching her explain it fully to Anya at the end of the ep when partying at the Bronze.

It was wonderful watching Tara going from the shy stuttering nobody at the beginning of Family, to the happy accepted by the scoobies woman excitedly talking about something she has knowledge about.

hmmm, just thinking of willow and tara floating at the bronze in the end scene.

I remember willow saying to buffy in 'Hush', "I'd just like to float something bigger than a pencil someday", now if you consider a certain scene in 'Once More With Feeling' ...

She floated more than a pencil-necked geek.

Happy to help madeira_bluegrrl. The whole album is really good IMO. So it's quite worth the purchase.

Once again, I loved "Family"!

You know, in the "it's the little things that count" category one of my favorite little throw away moments in this episode is where Tara is opening her presents and Willow is blowing bubbles. It just seems like such a Willow thing to do. Trying to add a little atmosphere to the activity in a sweet and silly way. It always makes me smile.

Yes Autumn, the little things I think are what makes this a real relationship for me. Private jokes, little hand holds, tender looks...it's all real.
