Amber in Promised Land

If you are in the US it is listing on http://tvguide.com/listings/setup/Localize.asp

Type in your zip code, than click if you have cable etc, than you can do a search listing wich is on the left side navigation, or change the grid to show the 3pm shows and find it.

It's on PAX, which is channel 16 in my area - Bay Area.

All I can suggest is try searching again.

Can I just say I'm so excited about finally getting this ep on tape! I've waited like a year. That's when they originally were going to air it but than PAX went all wonky in my area for a while.... ugh. Anyway, I might have to sneak out tomorrow evening after everyone is stuffed with turkey to make caps!! I just don't think I can hold out for the weekend!

Wow, it's great to see her in such a different role. Love her in the jeans and more "regular" type of clothes as opposed to the usual "frumpy" outfits she usually has on in Buffy.

Okay, so she DID say "Tabula Rasa"! I wasn't going insane! Always good to know...

This was definately a departure from the norm for Amber and very well done might I add. Does anyone know what year this was made? She couldn't have been older than 19 or 20.

So am I the only one that kinda (rearing back in case of fallout) loved her hair? I have a slight fixation on stuff like that. I don't know if it was so much the twists or the pink highlights, maybe just the cut of it. I've never seen her hair short before. It was just different.

I'm not sure about her hair - I apparently live under a rock because when I first saw the Zig-Zag style she had in Hush I thought it was the coolest thing only to be told that the style has been around a while. I couldn't help but give a chuckle to see that same zig-zag style appear in this show as well.

I think I like her hair shorter, perhaps if it didn't look so greasy in the ep it would have looked really good, but making her look like a starlet wasn't the object - but even with the make-up and hair job they still couldn't stifle Amber's Essence :-) Her true beauty shoned (is that a word?) through.

I've watched Amber in Dead Time and was disappointed to see that it was just another version of the initial Tara (from Hush) only to more of an extreme. I recently re-rented The Crush - now that I know who she is and saw the character as a bit of a foreshadow to the Hush Tara as well - but this Promised Land ep took a whole new twist and it was refreshing and enjoyable to watch.

You saw Cheyenne (The Crush) as a sort of early Tara? I found the character of Cheyenne to be much more outgoing and forward than Tara was in the earlier episodes like "Hush."

Yes, actually, I did. Cheyenne (pretty name BTW LOL) was meek, certainly a lot more reserved than Darian. She did have moments of bravety in that she simply walked into Nick's apartment and when she tried to inform Nick of what Darian was like, but she dared not stand up to Darian directly.

I think want caught me most about her being more like the Hush Tara was the body language. Cheyenne would "slink away" - try to fold herself up and often look away. This could be seen in early Tara eps and even as recently as TR.

Or am I just grasping at straws and should really get some sleep after having only about 4 hours in 4 four days?

Oh Tara how I love thee.... I only just found/went through this thread and saw everyone talking about Promised Land being on Foxtel in Oz and almost kicked myself thinking I'd missed out on seeing it...Sigh, I'm so happy!

EDITED TO ASK - is there anyone in AUS who is taping this and might be able to make me a copy? I'm not sure whether I'm going to be able to tape it or not so...help!!
