i am lurker who enjoys reading what you have to say- i saw this over at bitch magazine & ithought it would cheer you up with all that depressing spoilage about tara& willow.(did not see it on any other threads,soo)(oh, as you lovely ladies & gents have such exciting names i decided to get one too-real name is lena)

There are many reasons to love Joss Whedon and the smart, funny, wildly imaginative, sharp-as-a-tack series he created. But right now I am most happy about the way the new season has treated Sunnydale's resident lesbian couple: not with hype, not with avoidance, not with a sexualized, ratings-grabbing make-out session to titillate straight guys—it just shows them going about their business. Like any couple, Willow and Tara worry about each other, share unguarded moments, kiss good morning, and snuggle up in bed at night. It sounds like a great big "duh!" to point that out, but when was the last time you saw lesbian affection treated like no big deal on prime time? do forgive me, but i really must beg to differ as i do no think it said anything that shocking. there was not anything spolilery in it so far as i can discern though if i did spoil people i really am quite sorry for it.

maybe i was being a bit picky. but the unspoiled dont know what is coming up for w/t of course i have watched the show since episode 1 and knowing joss' style it would be hard to believe their near future would be full of puppy dogs and and flowers. it's just that sometimes they do suprise us and twist the story in weird angles and that's why i love the show.

Mucifer, I think that's fair enough, there's no spoliage there, unless you're outside the U.S. and them's the rules of the board. If it's aired in the U.S, it's no longer considered spoilage.
I'm Eurobabe too, but if we wanna play with the kitties we have to accept the rules!

Btw, *after* an episode has aired in the US anything that has happened in it is no longer a spoiler. It is simply impossible to wait for everybody to have seen the ep.

That's very cool. A lot of the quasi-underground feminist mags like Bitch and Bust were among the first to catch on to the coolness of BtVS and the genius of Joss. I'll never forget the way Bust summed up Season 3: "Oz pops Willow's cherry, and Xander loses his to ultra-fuckable Faith."

oh well i think only Queen of Denial understood what i meant ... i am from usa and it was the terms "depressing spoilage about willow and tara" to me means that the spoilers say bad stuff is gonna happen with them and Art is trying to cheer us up because she assumes we have all read the depressing spoilers. does that make sense? its not really that big of a deal its kind of clear just watching it that things will probably be problematic for w and t so i'll shut up now.

Amen Garfield, since W+T got together the spoilers have always been bad and full of doom, I've lost count of the number of times Tara was supposed to die or some horrible accident was supposed to befall one or both of them!

Bust always has something interesting to say about BtVS. I was reading something in a back issue though, where the writer was insulting SMG for being too skinny and i thought that was really irresponsible of a feminist publication--they should know the body issues women, thin and fat, face without adding to it.

Bitch is always cool though, thanks for posting that, the bookstore here hasn't gotten the latest issue.
