DO NOT POST - Backup in Progress

musical ep soundtrack (mildly spoilery)

Postby wiltar » Sat Oct 13, 2001 3:21 pm

I just listened to a soundfile of Sarah Michelle Gellar and the cast singing, for the musical episode. I really liked it, which made me wonder; will there be an album with all of these songs on them?
I'm sure a lot of people would buy it...at least I would! Anyone know more about this? And does anyone know where to find more soundfiles of this ep already?

Thanks!!!!

I've already started thinking about what to do with the musical episode on my Episode Sounds Page. If there was ever anything liable to bring the FOX lawyers down on my head, it would be posting recordings of entire songs from that episode. And yet, it's something people will want to hear.

I haven't completely decided what to do yet, but I'm working on it. I'll let you know when the time comes.

Steve DeKnight did think that there might be a cast CD of the musical when he posted on Fri.

We can keep our fingers crossed for that.

I'd buy it in a cold second. I would buy any CD with music from BtVS on it. The musical score is fantastic. I fondly remember the sexy music during the Flaming O Spell, or the sad during the "after the fight scene" from TL, and the Gift...wow

Agreed Dr. G!
I would love to get the music from the Flaming O spell and also the music from the extra flamey candle bit of NMR. I was rewatching part 2 box set of season 4 last night (um...square eyes yet again) and it seems like every time there's a W/T meeting on screen, the music gets all gooey and romantic. *sigh*

Didn't Amber mention something about a musical episode CD in a recent interview in Starburst magazine? I think she did.
I would TOTALLY buy it, I mean, I would probably have to hide it from my friends coz they'd make fun of me so much but I would lock all of the doors and play it to myself and be very very romanticky happy indeed.

I wouldn't hide it from my friends, even if they would disown me! I'm proud to be a Buffy fan, W/T shipper and Kitten! I would buy any Buffy cd as well. BTW, does anyone know when the ep will be showed?

I am very proud of my obsession. I think I'd have to buy a special woofer and amplifier to blast it from my car when it comes out Really though, I think it would be on my cd player for like a looooooooooong time.

Is there a place that is still archiving VIP posts. The place I usually go has a last post of October 3rd and I'm wondering where to read current VIP posts. Any help is appreciated.

Didn't they do a CD of songs from the Xena musical eps? I bet that UPN would be more willing to do something like this than the WB, who didn't seem to take a very creative attitude towards marketing the show.

I bet they would make a lot of money with making an album of these songs! They are stupid if they don't do this!

I'd love to have more BTVS music. I'd especially love more of ASH singing. Was re-watching "Where the wild things are" the other night, and had forgotten what a great voice he had!

I've extracted the part from the E! Buffy's Back Special, where you can see SMG and the cast sing, and put it up right here: http://www.nocturn.demon.nl/See-Buffy-Sing.avi (43 sec, 3.4 Mb)

To play this file, you need the DivX4 codec, which you can download from http://www.divx.com

After edit: Geez Patricia! Don't you ever sleep :-)

You managed to post, before I could even announce it myself...

I don't wan't to diminish Neti's accomplishment but if you're interested I made a clip of that scene as well - it's a bit longer with some of the actors talking about the musical.

And you can find it here - it's in wmv format and aprox. 1.5 mb.

During last nights episode they ran two promos for the "Buffy Musical", one with Xander singing and then a shot of Anya then we see Wil in the studio hamming it up singing and then siting with Giles on a sofa saying "I just come to lip sync".

Can't wait until the Hellmouth comes alive with the sound of music.

"When did you know your girlfriend was tinkerbell"

"Nobody messes with my girl"

"Assume crash positions"

The audio for the promos is now up at my W/T Episode Sounds Page:

I don't have the equipment to do video, I'm afraid, but at least you can hear what they sound like.
