Excite.com tells me that Amber's new movie The Prime Gig is coming out in theaters this Friday. I had no idea. I haven't seen any previews for it though, so I wonder how wide the release is going to be. Luckily for me, I'm in New York, but still, I worry about the fate of this film since it hasn't seemed to get any media attention. Or advertisements even.

Amber makes an appearance in only one scene but luckily her name (Bat Girl) makes an appearance several times on the top ten telemarketers list! And she seems to be doing fairly well! (she's third in the beggining, and then 4th in the latter part of the movie). Also, if you're carefull, you can spot her two more times in the background. The file is 20 mb so it takes only about an hour to download with a 56k modem.

The movie looks good too!

I heard that in the movie she has a fair screen time and has several scenes with Ed Harris! Can't wait!

Infact if you read the upcoming movie site you will notice that the release of the movie has been put back indefinatly

rottentomatoes.com also lists this movie as being in limited release on Sept. 14th, so I guess that means it'll be in a couple of theaters in LA and NY.

Does anyone know if this is going to be shown up here on a Canadian tv channel? My digital box has an Independant Film Channel but it's not the same (I don't think) as the U.S channel as it's not listing as showing 'The Prime Gig'.
Is it going to be released on video/DVD?

I will be looking out for that film in the UK.

I watched Can't Hardly Wait the other day and I noticed Amber was an extra in that and played the part of someone rather high (at least I assume that as she was fascinated by a banana)

Oh no, she was not an extra in CHW by any chance (if she was, she wouldn't have her picture at the very end of the credits now would she?). I read she had a few scenes, but sadly they were cut. BTW she's listed in the credits as "stoned girl", so you're right, he he

Apparently Amber's scenes from Can't Hardly Wait were cut because the stonedness of her character would have required an R rating for the film.

So I'm watching The Prime Gig, and so far here are some of Amber's lines, I think I have 'em for the most part, maybe a lil paraphrased here and there:

She has some really cute outfits and hairstyles, too, and is shown lounging at her desk with her feet up on it, and getting really animatedly enthusiastic about making sales.

Saw Prime Gig tonight. Great movie, love Vince Vaughn and Ed Harris. Was a bit disappointed that we barely saw Amber. I'd reccommend for a good flick, though.

I just noticed that Bat Girl had on the same gray sweater that Amber wore at the Bring It On premiere and here. In one of the scenes towards the end she's wearing the sweater and sitting on a desk playing with one of these.

Yay, I got to see The Prime Gig last night! I actually didn't think that much of the film itself...surprising, because there were some really fine actors in it, like Vince Vaughn, Ed Harris, that guy who played Babu on Seinfeld....

But of course it was all about the Amber, anyway. Not much Ambery goodness to be had, but I soaked up what there was. When oh when is she going to get a big fat juicy role? I must say, Bat Girl reminded me just a bit of brain-sucked Tara. Hee! And she had cool clothes. And hair. Was lovin' that dark lipstick, and oh those thigh-high stockings, yum! And yeah, Amber totally nicked that grey sweater!

Just thought I'd give a heads up to the U.K. kitties about the release of the Prime Gig here. It's out on DVD on January the 29th and on video on March 11th. So unfortunately no cinema release. But on the bright side it's not that long to wait for much needed Amber goodness.

UKers, as an employee of the great and wonderful *sniggers to self* BlockBuster, I can happily announces that The Prime Gig is out to rent (in dearest Blighty) on Monday.
I nicked a copy last night so I could have a sneaky peek before I take it back today. And wow does Amber look classy. Look out for the "Holy Shit" line with the lollipop, definitely my favourite.

I am surprised I did because I could have sworn she wasn't on Buffy yet when I saw it. Must have been the summer after Hush that I rented it then...

I noticed Amber in Can't Hardly Wait too! Her part was supposed to be really funny. Wasn't she playing the girl who was so drunk/stoned that no one could understand what she said? Perhaps her scenes will resurface if ever there is a special edition DVD. I also love Clea Duvall's one liner. Clea . . . what a babe

Yeah stoned girl was her - though she didn't say anything and she was holding a bananna. Though her name wasn't in the end credits, her picture was one of the last shown in them. I remember her being in a really daggy brown dress (though being the ever-gorgeous Ms. Amber Benson, she looks good in anything) and I think she may have been holding a bananna.

Oh yeah, let's hope/pray that an un-cut version does come out on DVD so we can see more Amber!!!

Edited to add: I just watched "Can't Hardly Wait" this afternoon to double check what Amber was wearing. It was a kinda blue-black-grey type get-up. You didn't really see much of it. It was in the earlier parts of the party.
