Music in the Park (Location Shoot Report 10/9/01)

The song excerpt is from the E! special that had footage from the musical ep. The thing I liked about the scene, apart from thinking "Hey wow, pretty song!" was that SMG and the cast were otherwise acting as though it were a normal scene, except with the singing. SMG was lip-synching to the pre-recorded tracks but acting as though they were lines of dialogue. Very cool.

I seem to remember Joss in an interview being asked what kind of songs we could expect in the musical ep, and he talked about his songwriting heroes being people like Elvis Costello and Aimee Mann. I think he's already proven with ASH's song in "Restless" that he's a pretty talented songwriter himself, so... this little musical episode has the potential to be REALLY REALLY awesome.

Ugh.

I am so, so, so sorry guys . . . I've searched the house high and low, and the backpack where my cameras and film were is not here, which means that it was in fact in the car that night. So not only am I out about $450 worth of camera equipment, but the film was in the backpack as well . . .

Wow, neat stuff. It's so cool to hear about the shooting of scenes I recognize from the episode (hadn't seen this thread 'til now). It's especially sweet knowing where the song in the park leads.... (It's too bad that was shot indoors, I'm sure every Kitten would love to hear about the shooting of that scene!)

It's also interesting to hear what the rumors had been (I managed to mostly avoid advance spoilers), now that I've seen the episodes (and the preview for Tabula Rasa). But at least we can say the rumors were not exactly true; they didn't break up in this episode. (It's not a spoiler if it's aired, right?)

Anyway, thanks for posting about the shoots, and hopefully this will bubble the thread up for any Kittens who hadn't seen the descriptions back in October.
