My dad likes to rattle that off every once in a while. I think it may be his favorite word.

Pneumonoultramicroscopicsilicovolcanoconiosis….
I hadn’t known that either and I’m quite impressed :). The word seems to beat all that has ever had to be articulated in terms of complexity.

I learnt today that there lies a huge difference between funding and resources. While funding is not essential for achieving change, money is. External funding for sustainable development may lead to a state of dependency and the most difficult experience encountered then is to tackle the attitude of dependency in people living in developing countries. It's a pity actually as communities themselves, despite poverty, are great resource centres.

I learned a new phrase today. When I get forgetful I will no no longer have a senior moment but a CRAFT moment. Can't Remember A F**King Thing!

I'd never heard this before and it tickled my brain.

Today I learned the origin of 'The Pink Triangle'.

In addition to imprisioning and excuting Jews, Gypsies and anyone else the Nazi's thought to be a threat to the Aryan ideal, they also imprisioned those they tought to be gay.

Everyone knows that Jews were forced to wear a yellow Star of David, but until today I didn't know that homosexuals were forced to wear a Pink Triangle.

That paraskevidekatriaphobia is the fear of Friday the 13th. The word literally translates to Friday (Paraskeví), thirteen (dekatreís), fear (phobia). It is a specialized form of fear of any mention or appearance of the number 13, triskaidekaphobia.

I learned that, you know how when you drive by a skunk spray, it really stinks but you open the windows and the car clears out? Well, riding your bike by takes much longer and you have to turn around and ride back (assuming you're riding back that is).

i went to physical therapy for the first time today. towards the end of my visit the therapist applied a steroid patch to my ankle. the patch had some sort of electrode on it which was then hooked up to a wire from a small hand-held device. she explained that the steroid in the patch had a negative ionic charge and the device would send negative charges through the electrode to repel the steroid and drive it into my tissue. i was just like "huh? really?" i mean, that's got to be one the craziest things i've ever heard of. science blows my mind.

I learned today that Microsoft are responsible for the programmes in practically all the auto-pilot software used in aviation.

That thought doesn't exactly fill me fill confidence.

I learned that my sweetie was not aware that roads in the original 13 are laid out on old cow paths and property lines...also the "hen you come to a huge rock, change your path" phenomenon, which is so prevalent here in The Granite State...I mean really...our highways cut through huge chunks of rock...pretty :sigh

... That the sheets in the saying, "three sheets to the wind," do NOT refer to sails but rather to the ropes or chains attached to their corners to secure them. When these were not securely fastened (sometimes by as many as three lines, apparently), the ship would pitch and roll like a drunken sailor.

Oh my goodness Adri! The Star of David is such a powerful energy healing symbol. I use it together with my healer friend Patrick for healings related to removal of blocks related to ancestral karma or spirit release. Now that is something that I need to research so as to better understand the value of being gay and spiritual ... for being gay is highly valuable esoterically speaking

So this is what I am learning at this very moment.

In deep gratitude.

I learn today that raw-vegan living can actually accelerate your ability to understand universal manifestation and as such create the life that you truly desire. This is because with the consciousness of eating comes the consciousness of choice ... and the energy of compassion. Light and love in other words.

I find that utterly fascinating and I am happy that my journey is enabling me to embrace a country that will allow me to have a vibrant raw-vegan diet of my choice irrespective of the social settings I come across.
