DIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIBS!!!!!!!!
and this is an honorable dibs.

OMG. lol. That just made my 2010. lol.

Feedback soon...

okay so a couple of re-reads later, now I'm sharing my feedback. :)
First, let me congragulate you for your recent personal developments! Marraige and a baby, that's awesome. May I be rude and ask for the rugret's name? a picture even? lol. I'm pushing my luck, but I'm happy for you! oh and new house too, that's great.

Second, let me tell you... This is probably my fav fic. Well, top 3 for sure.
I love how realistic your characters are, and how you manage to put tiny moments of magic in their world, their interaction.. I find it so inticing. It gives me butterflies by proxy! :)

Even though it's not very visible in this chapter, I also love how you interlace the city in the writing. it's like another living character in the story.

This chapter was sort of ambivilant for me. on one hand, I really LOVED their hug. it's one of those moments in life that make you feel like your every pore humms. You wrote it incredible. However, I'm not sure how I feel about Willow's realization, or possible realization... I kind of loved how clueless she was. it obligated her to put herself out there, take a leap of faith... and I really wanted to read Tara's expression and reaction to Will's declaration of love.. though I do think that in these situations, it might come sooner than she planned.. I think something's gotta give, and being this close to kissing, next time, it probably will happen (hopefully, anyway... :) ).

A little part of me wished Tara wasn't imaginating... sigh.. though it would have been too easy, of course. Now all I can do is ravel in your creation and wait for more. Thanks for updating.. I really waited for 19 months for this. apperently, 2010 might be cool. :)

Yay for excellent update-y goodness... Good that Willow has the "Tara likes Willow" idea in her head... I hope Tara will do absolutely everything to convince Willow that that thought is not a dream but a real deal...

Congrats on marriage and baby...

Double congrats to marriage and son. What a wonderful change of life for you. And thanks to your wife and your connection the kittens also got a treat. A new update. Two of my favorite stories in the last days - definitely made the start of 2010 a wonderful beginning.

And it all came back quickly after reading the first lines the beauty of your story just came back to me. And what update you had in store for us. So endearing, so light, so touching. Finally Willow is starting to realize the feelings Tara has for her. I can't wait for her to come out to her mother and Buffy. Finally she will be free for her own good and to make a move on Tara.

How brave of Tara to initiate such an intimate touch. I know how much a hug can set your senses of if you are craving the others touch. And you described it so well. Also I'm really glad Tara is confident enough to give herself pleasure by thinking about Willow's touch. Often writers tend to make the girls to shy to do that before they become a couple. But I highly doubt it is believable if you are so much in love with another person. This Tara just gives in to her feelings. Surely she could not have been able to paint if she hadn't left of some steam before. Thanks.

I wonder how Buffy will react when she knows about Willow so not loving Xander. She has some serious apologizing to do. Might take a while for Xander to forgive.

Thanks again, best wishes to your wife, and I'm hoping to see the next update sooner. But I so do understand a busy life. No pressure intended.

Woah, so like everyone before me probably: congratulations on such a wonderful time for you!

This is such a random surprise, I wish I hadn't seen it at 1 AM because now I need to go back to the start of the story before reading the update... ;)

Thank you so much for picking this back up though, no matter how long it's been! All the best for this new year, as well! :)

Hey Heather,
Well congratulations to both of you. Actually all three of you. What a pleasant and lovely surprise for the beginning of the year. BTW: I found out about this post over at FB where a lot of kittens (and the rest of the free world) can now be found. That's not to say that no one is here but traffic is low these days. Perhaps you can bring some traffic back to the site. I'd love to know some details/stats on your son: name, DOB, etc. but I know you've always been pretty private. Kittens have had lots of weddings and a few babies and pregnancies since you've been gone so there's lots to be grateful for around here. Speaking of the wife, any chance she'll be finishing her story? I re-read it in the last month and wished for an update.

The update: A very nice after-date/not-a-date update. The hug was wonderful. Seriously, a minute? That's a really, really long hug. You'd think they would have pulled away with a sort of embarrassed smile or something like, "Wow. Uh, long hug." They're both just adorably cute. Tara, quite sexy as well and it seems like she's got some inspiration which is good news. I'm sure you're still going to take your time and torture us but it will be the best sort of torture.

Welcome back.

Heather,
First of all, congratulations!!!! Marriage and a baby? That really is exciting news. I'm so very happy for you!

What a wonderful New Year's present, news from you and an update too!

The update was wonderful. The hopeless romantic in me loved the hug, every single second of that minute! :) I like that Willow is entertaining the idea that Tara might "like" her. And Tara is quite in the artistic zone now, that mental image is embedded in my brain for the night... :blush

Best wishes to you and your family for the New Year!

Wow... this just made today awesome. It was great to see this updated.
"When you run with the Doctor, it feels like it'll never end. But however hard you try you can't run forever. Everybody knows that everybody dies and nobody knows it like the Doctor. But I do think that all the skies of all the worlds might just turn dark if he ever for one moment, accepts it. Everybody knows that everybody dies. But not every day. Not today. Some days are special. Some days are so, so blessed. Some days, nobody dies at all. Now and then, every once in a very long while, every day in a million days, when the wind stands fair, and the Doctor comes to call... everybody lives." River Song - "Forest of the Dead"

This is the best ever new years present…all is right with the world…Neverland has been updated. :party

Heather,
Congratulations on your good fortunes of life.
And thank you for making this kitten and I’m sure many kittens very happy today.

Onto the update reply;
First I had to go find my Willow/Tara clue stick, dust it off and get it ready for use.
To my surprise I didn’t need the clue stick. It seems that the girls may be heading in the right direction now. Glad to see that Willow has the power to inspire the artistic talents within Tara. ;-)

It amazes me as to how easily I fell right back into this wonderful story. What a talented writer you are.

I can’t wait for more.

Hey Heather! I saw you updated, and once I picked myself up off the floor after fainting, dragged myself back into my chair, rubbed my eyes to make sure I wasn't seeing things and finally began to read. I must say, you have the best excuse ever to leave us hanging for so long. I mean, wow, you have been a busy little beaver, haven't you? A new wife and a little baby in the last year. That's the most wonderful news ever, so I guess we'll let you slide this time. lol Seriously, major congratulations. I hope your son lets you get more sleep than mine did when he was little. I wish you and your family all the luck in the world.

Now where was I? Oh yeah...you UPDATED!!! Holy Guacamole! And you came back with a vengeance in this one. The heat between our two girls was palpable and I felt my heart beating madly just as theirs did. You write their emotion here so, so well. Tara's hug was a huge step here, I think, for both of them. I'm wondering if Willow was hearing that voice from herself telling her to kiss her, or was she reading Tara's mind? Hmm..

Tara's fantasizing was well, very hot, and I could so picture Willow walking in there and finding her and doing all the things Tara was imagining. And what a way to get your juices flowing - you know, her artistic juices. ;-) Seems she got herself right back into her painting groove now, so I can't wait to see what comes of it. No pun, of course.

Now missy, with your new family and all, I totally understand you have other more important priorities, but I thank you so much for getting back to this for us, and we'll all be patiently waiting until you have time to give us more.

Wow, I can only echo what everyone else said, congratualtions-wise.

Very emotional update. And, as I've been so concerned aboput, glad to see Tara back in the studio. and approrpriate for Willow to be transformed from a distraction to a muse. Can't wait to "see" what kind of artwork this leads to. (and, even tho I'm no expert on abstract art, makes me wanna fire up a Syllogismobile nad flit over to this universe and see them *grin.)
I think Willow has actually been throwing Tara subcosncious clues for a while (I mean, two of the three "M-ladies" picked up on it) but Tara's been disregarding them out of natural caution. finally, Tara has thrown a clue that Willow, less accustomed to all this, can pick up.

As Iv'e said, I udnerstnad why Willow wants to tell Mom and Buffy first. I wish they'd hurry uop and get into town:-)!

AHHHH!! An update! :D

First off, congratulations on the wife/house/son! Livin' the (lesbian) American dream, eh?

I first read Neverland a couple of months ago on uberwillowtara, not knowing it was unfinished. The writing drew me in immediately and it quickly rose to the top of my list of favorite fics. I was certainly disappointed to discover that Chapter 48 was the last update in a year and a half, but I tried to keep the hope alive. I decided to re-read it last week, and last night, I got to Chapter 48 again, and with a sigh, I decided to check this thread, just in case. To my surprise, what do I find but an update to the fic, along with fantastic news about its author! What a great way to start 2010! (Which, as an aside, should apparently be pronounced 'twenty ten', not 'two thousand and ten'.)

Soooo...what I'm trying to say is: Thanks, Heather. It was certainly worth the wait. :)

Edited because typing on the iPhone is hard. :$

Hey cutie. Let me start by saying that while I was not exactly suprised to see the update, 'cause I knew you were working on it, I was still suprised to see it posted... if that makes sense? It had been a while (not complaining, just saying) and it's kind of like a mirage to see it... is it really there? Having said that, it is really there and it's wonderful! Thanks so much for posting - I know the story was never dead and you have been working on it when you can, but even so seeing it posted makes it tangible which is really, really awesome.

The funny thing is, I had just recently read the entire story again and I can say with certainty that you are not rusty at all. Had the dates of the updates not been on there, I would have had no idea that there had been so long between parts. Kudos on such a smooth transition!

I loved the thick tension in the air when they finally got back in the apartment from the concert. Their flirty, romantic energy carried over well from the previous update. The long hugs was lovely... and I felt like though you said it was a minute, I took that in the figurative sense. I can imagine what a minute long hug would feel like with someone you are desperately in love with but not "with". It would be sweet torture and you captured that so well.

As to Tara's fantasy... well, *thud*!! That was hot. I think I have said this before, but the stark difference in their comfort level with their sexuality is so well defined and really true to cannon as well (at least early in their relationship). While Willows spicy dreams are blending more with reality and she is staying in them longer, Tara's fantasies are becoming more vivid and bold (or confident?) as she gets closer and closer to Willow.

Finally, Willow getting a clue about Tara's feelings is outstanding... now if only poor Tara had an inkling about how Willow feels! Let the games begin!

So happy to see the writing flow again. It's a breath of fresh air and a joy. I cannot wait for more as time permits. So many thanks and congratulations.

xoxo

Postby Phoenix » Tue Jan 05, 2010 10:33 pm

Oh, WOW! Okay, first off, I can't believe that after this many years I've never left feedback on Neverland . . . and now that I'm finally doing so, all I can think to say is--WONDERFUL!

And since I can't begin to say in one little post how much I truly love this story, I'm just going to boil it all down to a few choice words and moments from this latest chapter:

" . . . scattered drops of piggybacking rain . . ." This is the funniest, cutest little phrase and image in its own right, but pertaining to Willow--adorable!

"Kiss me." What a perfect and well-crafted lynchpin device for the wonderful hug scene! Took my breath away with its simplicity.

"It seemed so improbable, too implausible, yet here she was allowing the thought, the dream to bleed into reality." This sentence just really struck me as . . . absolutely beautiful. I imagine Tara could work wonders on a canvas with this image if Willow ever shared it with her. :)

And then of course the last line of the chapter was . . . flooring! (As is Tara's marvelous imagination!)

So THANK YOU for this update. I think it's very safe to say that, yes, you definitely DO remember how to do this!
