Hi.

Joined primarily to comment on other fics. Willow/Tara isn't my favorite ship on the show (that honor goes to Buffy/Angel), but it's one of the best ones.

My preferences in fanfic are as follows.

My favorite type of fic has our characters in happy, stable relationships and still fighting the forces of evil. I also like seeing the good guys kick major ass. I have a fierce hatred for bigotry in all forms, and love to see people with bigoted opinions get their comeuppance. I enjoy AUs that work by altering events at a specific point (eg, "What if Tara had survived being shot by Warren?"). And I like "friendship fic", particularly when at least one of the participants is neither Buffy, Willow, or Xander.

I do not like excessive sex, and tend to skim over sex scenes. I do not like hatefic unless it's directed at Parker Abrams. I do not like to see couples fighting, particularly Willow and Tara (those scenes in "All The Way" were painful). I do not read fics that set Willow and Tara in a completely different setting. I don't like OCs in most cases except as villains. I don't like to see infighting in the Scooby Gang. I don't like fics where it seems like the Hellmouth is taking a break so as not to get in the way of couples being happy together. And I consider the creation of Mary Sues to be a slaying offence.

Do you mean Uber fics? Or fics where Willow and Tara are not actually together? If you mean Uber, you're missing out on some really spectacular stories.

Congrats on being the 2222nd registered kitten. ^_^b

Hey im Ashleigh and I hail from bonny Scotland, or rainy Scotland, take your pick. I'm 18, almost 19 and I work in one of my local pubs most afternoons/nights, which makes my social life rubbish as I work most weekends for very long hours, and then kicking all the drunks out so I can go home and well get drunk. I'm currently studying at my local college studying English, mathematics and drama and hopefully will be moving on to study media. I'm a movie buff and I love music, blame my brother, I know I do haha, not a bad thing though. I love to hang out when I can, or go camping, reading when I get a chance. I also write my own screenplays/plays which are a work in progress, i have worked on a few local film projects, and I’m working on completing my own and working my butt off to take them from page to screen.

Hello,

I suppose this is a re-introduction, given that I was previously an active poster on this board, and have recently rediscovered the wonderful Kitten community. I sadly could not re-activate my old account for this board, so I've borrowed a permutation of the original theme.

I'm 24, live near Houston, Texas, and am currently working at a convenience store as I try to finish a college degree of increasingly diminished value (given the rapidly evolving nature of the national economy).

After a great deal of soul-searching and an unexpected gender identity crisis, I've come to terms with the fact that I am, for better or worse, male. I have wished, hoped, and on desperate occasion prayed that I wasn't, but I have since learned that wanting to be something isn't the same as being something.

In so many ways, falling in love with the romance of Willow and Tara was the genesis of my explorations into gender identity and expression, explorations which have brought profound joy and turmoil. Their love for each other opened my eyes to innumerable facets about the nature of love, the complexities of relationships, the demands of society, and I would surely be a much smaller person than I am now had I not wept with both joy and sorrow over their first kiss.

I know that as a male (regardless of how detached I may be from the masculine frame), I am separate and inherently unequal to Willow, Tara, and their soul-deep connection to one another. I know that I have no right to take pleasure or comfort from their triumphs and pitfalls, and this knowledge has been a source of tremendous sadness for me. And yet, I cannot help but feel a wracking, tear-filled grief whenever I am reminded of how they were torn from each other, and how the gaping maw cannot be filled. And yet, I cannot help but feel a pure, bubbling elation whenever I see them find each other and save themselves from the abyss. And yet, I cannot help but feel a hip-thrusting arousal whenever I read about how they make tender, playful, primitive love to each other.

I know that I shouldn't, and yet, I do.

There are many other things which are important to my life, like Italian food and jogging, Star Trek and philosophy, political history and weird music. However this dichotomy between heart and mind, between purely romantic, Sapphic fantasies and other, more prurient desires (not solely limited to the woman-loving-woman), has come to define in a central role my thought processes over the past eight years, more so than any other single issue.

I hope that I will be able to impart to some of the authors on this board how much their stories have influenced me, and how much I am indebted to them.

My sincere thanks to anyone who takes the time to read this,
-R
"As Willow placed a kiss on her hair, Tara tucked her head underneath Willow's chin and breathed in the scent of Willow's skin. She fell back into her dreams while silently telling Willow the words of her heart, her lips brushing against the soft skin of Willow's neck."

Hello everybody! :)

After lurking as a reader for a while, I have joined at the request of Tara the Phoenix so I can leave feedback for her stories!

I'm currently 32 years old and I've known Tara the Phoenix all my life. (Really! I've got baby pictures of her to prove it! :-D) She was one of only three guests present at my wedding twelve years ago, believing in me when so few people did. We drifted apart for a while, but I'm so glad we reconnected so I can see how happy the recent changes in her life have made her! It's a joy to be able to read her stories once again and discuss with her the ins and outs and joys of being a writer (my husband and I are currently writing and illustrating a five-book fantasy series).

I have to admit to not being an expert on "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" - in fact, I've only seen once episode! :ashamed However, in that one episode ("Once More, With Feeling") the thing that impressed me the most about the show was the Willow and Tara relationship (does that almost get me off the hook? :p )

Hey ya'll!

My name is Khirsten, and I'm 18 (19 in September, yay!). I've been lurking here for like... years, haha, and finally decided to join. Anyway, I'm a sophomore in college, and I'm from a really small town in southwestern Louisiana, close to the Texas border. However, when I go back to college, I'll be in northern Louisiana, haha, yay :)

I write, a lot, and my goal in life is to be a published author. I'm also a budding photographer, and I like sketching, too, heh

Anyway, yay Willow and Tara!!! <3 I grew up watching Buffy and Xena :3

Hello :)
My name is Caitlin, but I tend to go by Cate. I'm 21. I'm attending university in Wellington, NZ but I'm originally from Missouri.

I've been writing fanfic for several years, as well as making graphics, fanmixes, icons, etc. I've only recently gotten into the Buffy fandom, watching all the seasons in last couple months. A bit of a nerd and a Whedon fangirl, I love Firefly, Angel, Dollhouse and Dr. Horrible as well.

Hi's everybody, my name's Stephanie, but I prefer to being called Steph. I've been a lurker here for almost a year now. But, I've decided to come out of hiding and leave feedback where feedback is deserved! I live and go to school in Miami, FL (really, not as good as some people make it to be). I've loved BTVS since I was 9 years old (seems just like yesterday) and I'm still obssessed with it. I've always loved the W/T pairing and they were my very first fanfic. I'm also a very recent Buffy/Faith shipper, but only because I gave up with Buffy and men. I'm more of a reader than a writer, but only because I lack motivational skills. Hopefully, though, time'll change that. :D I hope everybody has a great day here on the Kitten Board, and I hope to meet some of you!

My name is Annie and I've been a fan of Willow and Tara since there WAS a Willow and Tara. I choose to believe that the stupid Wannabe-Slayer was a mass hallucination forced upon us. Also, I'm a writer and I've lived in Las Vegas since Nov 2006.

I found this board through a writer I found quite accidentally back in 2004, Tommo, who had the site Lesbo Street Cred, though it no longer seems to work on half of it. [The new version] Does anyone know where I could find FINAL EXAM and a story he'd started called TOUCHSTONE?

I came here seeking some of his work and found a new story that I liked a lot, one called TARA ROSENBERG. Beautiful and touching, that. I hope to find more of the same beautiful stuff here, as Willow and Tara are a beautiful couple!

Love and Light,
Annie

There’s an introduction thread?!? Boy, now I feel like an intrudery rude type person.

Hello! and sorry in advance because this is gonna be of the longwinded persuasion, but it’s stuff I’ve wanted to say for over a year now. I watched and loved BtVS when it was on tv, bought dvd’s, got addicted to the dvd’s, attacked the internet, found the Kitten Board and then got addicted to the Kitten Board. I've never been the same since. I spent all of last year with computer separation anxiety problems and I pretty much couldn’t go 24 hours without reading a sizable chunk of fic. Srsly, I had problems. Somehow I still managed to retain my very neglected friends and make it through the first year of my undergraduate degree in some kind of half-decent condition, though I really couldn’t tell you how I achieved this. This year I’ve managed to chill out a bit, mostly because apparently the second year of a degree requires more time and work than the first does (WTH?) and, much to my disgust, I don’t own a Time-Turner. I also came out of lurkdom earlier this year coz I started to feel pretty guilty about reading crazy amounts of stuff and not thanking the authors for their supreme and unequivocal awesomeness, but more on that later.

Of course, being addicted to fanfiction for a year is going to lead one to do some serious thinking about the nature of things and so far, this is what I’ve nutted out: All my life, I’ve watched people completely destroy each other and themselves over this thing we call love. When I stumbled upon the KB, I was so snarktastic and pessimistic (which, arguably, hasn’t really changed) about love that even I couldn’t stand me. That requires a lot of pessi-snark-ism. But anyway, what I found here, Willow and Tara and all us peoples that love them…well I really don’t have words (that’s why me feedbackerer and not writer) and I’m fairly sure I don’t need the words, because you all already know. This board has given me back the idea of love as something more than just a weapon; something to be sundered in the name of selfishness and control. For that I will be grateful, forever.

Anyway, I have very little else to say (which is probably a sign that I’ve already said too much) beyond the fact that I wish I could claim to be allergic to anything that doesn’t involve my bed, a (non-academic variety) book, a computer, lightsabers, my ipod, tea, sunshine or general slacker laziness, and that I have enormous, massive, gargantuan respect for all those involved in creating this board and every wonderful thing on it. You have all of my gratitude for all of the rest of time. Thank you.

Hey there!
I'm a lurker. Not of the boards necessarily, but definitely the archives. Willow and Tara charmed me along with the other half of the world and left me wanting more...so I came here and found something entirely unexpected. Can't wait to read more and maybe contribute a story or two of my own.
I'm from Montana. I'm not a cowgirl, but I am a college student who occasionally rides horses. :)
Glad to be here!

Hey, I'm Edith - hate that name so call me Ed or Eddie :pray
I'm 18 and about to go back a couple of years (school wise) and go to college for something completely different...fun times :)
I admit that I have a teensy tiny -- okay, HUGE -- Willow/Tara obsession (and also general BtVS but they are most definately my favourite :wtkiss ) I've kinda lurked on the board for the past few months, just reading, but decided to join :) I would love to try writing my own W/T fic at some point...but I don't have the same imagination for writing as I used to :( I might give it a go though.

I am INCREDIBLY shy -- even though none of you can see me or knows me I find this posting business highly embarrassing :blush and it will take all my willpower (haha pause for me to stop and giggle at my unintentional pun) to actually press the post button. But here it goes...

Hello all.

I'll just be making a quick introduction then. I'm Anna I-Have-A-Second-Name-Which-Shall-Never-Be-Mentioned. Just call me Anna. I was born and raised in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. I'm currently on the cusp of getting my bachelor's degree in English/Portuguese and working (my ass off) as a translator.

I've basically been lurking this board on and off for about... I dunno, 4, 5 years? I've decided to delurk because my girlfriend of four months just kind of broke up with me (long, long story) and I'm feeling lonely and depressed. Which is really pathetic, of course, but hey, it's life. I do love Willow and Tara, obviously, and I intend to read sappy fics to my heart's content (and comment on them when time allows it).

Guess that's it. See you all around.

I'm Spencer but go by Spence but I have no prefrence really. I only found out about Willow and Tara a little while ago which sucks because I keep trying to find thier relationship on YouTube with out music and not in another language. :happy Opps. Sorry. I'm 15 and in high school. Obviously. And I am a huge fan of Willow and Tara. Anyway. I play softball and read a lot. Um. I guess that's it really.

I don't think I've posted on here yet, but I do want to say something so here seems as good a place as any!

I've lurked around the Kitten Board since 2002 (don't time fly!) and sporadically posted under another name (Mia.) but forgot the password and now sporadically post under this one!

Willow and Tara were so incrediably important to me, it wasn't until I saw their relationship that I realised who I was and what I wanted. I realised I could be my shy, quiet, geeky, femmish self and have a wonderful relationship with another woman. years of self-hatred melted away and I started to approach life with hope again.

Finding the Kitten Board was a revalation, everyone was so so lovely and it was a real eye opener to know there were so many people out there (and so many gay/bi girls!) who felt like I did. Just to know I was not alone meant so much.

Whenever I have felt a little low or been doing something brave (but scary!) in my life, I always check into the board and it gives me a little boost. :wtkiss W'/T represent and symbolise so much more than just 2 characters in a TV show. They are the reason me (and many more) feel confident to accept and love who we are.

I want to say thank you to Xita and all the moderaters and to everyone who has posted on the board over the years, :kgeek also thank you to Willow and Tara (Amber & Aly) their lovely selves. W/T and the Kitten Board saved my life and gave me hope for my future. its a special place and W/T are such a special thing. I feel honoured to be part of this community. :pride

Hi Everyone, my name is Bellalocke - you can call me Bella or Locke whichever you prefer :)
I decided to join the boards after reading jasmydae's Fic "Constants" just so I could comment on it. However, after stumbling about on the boards, I have a feeling that I am going to be a bit more active than that.

So... about me - I'm 24 years old and I live in Tucson, Az. I am currently going to school for Accounting, but i am considering a double major of some sort. I have a pretty good Idea what I want to do with my life, I am just trying to find the most interesting road to get me there.

Admittedly, I am new to the W/T fanfic scene, but I can thank my lovely girlfriend for the introduction into the Buffyverse. I love Uber fics and AU's. I haven't read a whole lot of stories, but I am looking forward to what I find on here. Sometime soon, I hope to be writing some fics, but I don't know when that will be on account of school.

If there is anything you want to know, feel free to ask! :D
Other than that, thanks for your time :pride
