W & T in The BtVS Comics - A Question.

I'm hoping that some of the Kittens here will help out a fledgling member...

I'm currently in the midst of adjusting my massive comic book collection; and one of the things I'm looking for is to complete the Willow & Tara additions of my "Buffy" comics...

If anyone has a list of which issues include the appearences of Willow and Tara...I would be most grateful...Especially, in which "BtVS" collected volumes, hardcovers, and/or omnibi do they appear...Since; I'm moving away from the single issues, and towards the "all-in-one-book" book ...Far too difficult and expensive to collect them individually; don'tcha know...

So, please post your lists here; I would be a most grateful kitty...

Well... I *can* tell you that the Willow & Tara comics are called "WannaBlessedBe", "Wilderness 1," and "Wilderness 2," and I'm under the impression they were separately printed. I don't know if they're in any collections, but if they're in any, I'd put my money on the Omnibus collection, since that's supposed to be *all* the Buffy comics ever printed, in chronological order.... though it looks like they've only gotten up to Season 3, in Volume 4 of that collection.


Were you thinking of different comics than those, though?

Hi TOLS!

Happily, Dark Horse is in the midst of collecting all of the Buffy stories in chronological order, and OMNIBUS VOLUME 5, which kicks off the college years, will be released on October 1. I'm not certain if Tara appears as anything other than a background character in these stories; she will definitely play a more central role in VOLUME 6, I'm certain.

Sad news there, Shiai- she really won't appear until we get to Omnibus 6. 5 deals with Oz leaving but does not quite get out to NMR time...

Hey. I don't know if this will really help, but i did some looking around online and the only thing i can really find is this http://buffycomics.hellmouthcentral.com/ if you click on 'the comic books' on the left hand side and then select 'Buffy the vampire slayer monthly' it'll take you to the first of a few pages that give you a picture of each issue and little synopsis. I didn't do too much looking though so i don't know how much help it will be. Sorry!

Omnibus 6 comesvout february 11, right? If so I can't wait. I havnt read any of the comics really, but if willow and tara are in it I will def. Read it. Kind of a dumb question, but in these omnibus series is it like a retelling of the story or is it a continuation?

The ones in the omnibus series are subsidiary tales that fit loosy around the tv series. They don't really deal with any major plot developments but some of the tails are quite good. The first omnibus features a retelling of the movie but changed to fit in with the show better and Buffy being sent to the mental hospital before she came to sunnydale as well as a few shorter tales too.
Omnibus 2 starts with a pre-S1 story dealing with Buffy's father leaving the family and then the rest is set around S2 with a few Spike/Dru stories and another featuring Angelus and Kendra.
Omnibus 3 and 4 are set loosly around S3 but don't feature Faith or The Mayor or anything that really fits in with the show, with the exception of the final story in O4 set right after the ending of S3.
Dark horse have reordered the comics so they're presented in 'in-universe' chronological order, rather then reprinting them in the same order they were first publised as comics. The 3rd and 4th collections actually contain some of the earlist written comics, so these ones aren't some of the best in all honesty with some of the stories not feeling like it has the right tone and the artwork doesn't help either (green-skinned vamps, brunette Willow...)
Anyways sidetracked much?
Omnibus 5 is much better then 3 and 4 IMHO and starts of strongly with a story set between S3 and S4. Faith is haunting Buffy's dreams, the ghost of the Mayor is causing trouble, Cordy leaves town and the initiative are arriving. Next there's a long story called the Blood of Carthage, that does fit quite well with the S4 theme of separation with the core scoobies drifting apart (and there's some cute manga style flashbacks of Willow and Xander as little kids). O5 ends with a few more standalone stories but better written then the ones in O3 and O4.

So my 2 bob on the omnibus series so far:
O1: Not bad - pick it up for the mental hospital story particularly.
O2: Good stuff be here.
O3: Meh. A few good stories here but skip it unless you really want the complete set.
O4: A bit better then O3 but again can be skipped as it's still a bit meh.
O5: Aha and back to the good stuff with this one.

Of course the best stuff is still to come with Tara still to arrive in O6...

Reprints of long out of print series/stories. Dark Horse has done this with other brands they own, too. (Terminator, Barb Wire, Star Wars, etc.)

my stupid bookstore didn't get any further than number 4, and they had some uncomplete buffy stories (as in the 2nd book out of a trilogy and things like that) But hey it's a miracle they have Buffy anyway, it's the only store I know to have it.

they can't keep dragging her to greater depths, she's allready gone world-ending deep so that wouldn't be new. Eventually Tara will have to come back to bring back the happy Willow, there'd be so many snuggles that they'd need a season of their own, the W-word preferrably on tv as a nice spinoff.

Maybe there will be a spike-and-his-soul like thingy for Willow, where she can earn Tara back because they were indeed meant to be forever so the powers that be will fix it but not for free, the universe doesn't like to get you things for free, it goes like, ok, you want this huge gift, but you'll have to pay... and it won't be a hitchiker this time cuz you know... been there and all.

well, there are other ways of watching the show, let me put it this way: If I respect an artist I buy and watch legal copies/broadcasts of that persons work. If I just enjoy the stuff but nothing more, I do the internet thing or borrow it from, for example, te library.

Something I don't do with people I respect because I would be unsupportive if I did,
