Ch 1

Willow thought as she made her way through the cornucopia of people. She was attending the after show party. Opening night had gone well, splendidly in fact. Now she just had to wait for the reviews to come in. Who was she kidding, they were always good. No reviewer had ever said anything different, marvelous, wonderful, Willow Rosenberg is the next big thing. It wasn’t as though she didn’t like acting, she loved it, it came so easy to her. She almost felt bad she was paid so much for something she never had to work for.

Her acting career started out at a young age, getting parts in various commercials and a few TV sitcoms. Her big break came at the age of 10 when she was cast in a huge movie with some of the most famous actors of the time. After that she was a household name. She never really got along with her parents, they seemed more as her managers than loving parents. They were always pushing her to practice and go on an insane amount of auditions. She never had a “normal” childhood as most child actors don’t, but she didn’t mind. She never knew what it was like to be “normal”, so she didn’t know what she was missing out on. It wasn’t until she was 16 that she realized her parents had spent all of her childhood acting money. She quickly had herself emancipated and moved out. From then on she handled her own finances, much to the discretion of her current manager, but she would never again trust another person with her money. What many people didn’t know what that Willow was insanely smart. In her free time she spent her time writing code and creating complex software. She never sold the software it was only for her own amusement. She liked to have something that no one else knew about. It was almost like her secret life. She had enough money to live 3 lifetimes and never have to want for anything. After her last movie, she decided to give stage acting a try. She needed a change and thought she would be good on stage, she was right she was good, brilliant even.

“Hey Willow!” A voice broke her out of her own thoughts. She turned to face Oz another actor in the play. “You were simply brilliant tonight, stunning, you really captivated the audience.” Willow smiled to herself, she had heard those words so many times, the meaning held nothing. It made about as much affect on her as if someone said the sky is blue. “So…do you want to go get some coffee after this party?” Oz looked down at the floor.
“No, thanks, I really need to get home after this.” It was a lie, but Willow couldn’t bring herself to come out of the closet. She knew that it really shouldn’t matter, even if she never got another acting gig again she could still afford her extravagant life. Plus she had yet to really be with a woman. She had never found someone that captivated her, male or female she just had never found someone that didn’t see past her gorgeous good looks. She wanted to have someone to share a life with, someone who she could come home too and snuggle in front of the fire. Someone she could trust. She looked at Oz who looked crestfallen. “Maybe some other time, we could go out as friends.” She hoped that he understood.
“Yeah as friends, of course. Listen there really is something I wanted to talk to you about. It is a playwright I am producing, I would like you to play lead, if you are interested of course.”
“Sure, do you have a copy?”
“Of course, I’ll run out to my car and get it.” Willow usually wasn’t up to doing independent playwrights, but there was something about Oz that made her reconsider. He was nice and sweet and she felt like he was a genuine friend.

The party lasted well in to the hours of the morning. When Willow was sure that she could make her leave with out offending anyone she did so. Willow took a cab to her penthouse apartment, she threw her belongings down at the front door and made herself some coffee. She sat down in front of her laptop with her coffee and worked on her code. After a few hours her coffee had gone cold and her eyes burned, she got up and went to the living room and sat down. She glanced out of her huge floor to ceiling windows, she could see the sun starting to come up. She looked at her belongings still strewn out by the door where she had dropped them. She noticed Oz’s playwright and decided to have a look.

***---***---***

Tara sat in the rehearsal room; this would be her first concert where she was first chair violin. To say she was nervous would be an understatement. She would never get used to people praising her for her playing. If it hadn’t been for her best friend Faith she would have never tried for first chair. After her mother had died, her Father wouldn’t let her play anymore. He said it reminded him of her mother and it was too painful. Tara found her playing relieved her from the pain of losing her mother. She often snuck out as a kid to find some private place to play. She was not allowed to be in the Orchestra at school, but she would often visit the practice room and play. Once she turned 18 she left school and tried out for Julliard. She made it with flying colors; it was the single scariest moment of her life. She had always been quiet and shy so going in front of people to play scarred her to death. If it hadn’t been for the support of Faith and her high school orchestra teacher, she never would have gone. People kept telling her she was brilliant a music prodigy, but she could never see it. She could see it today going out with a huge solo that had to be perfect, she was terrified.

Tara nailed her solo with perfection, at least everyone said so, she still thought she could do better. She mingled out in the lobby with several other orchestra members and a few spectators that wanted to meet the band. She noticed a rather short man with fiery red hair walking towards her.
“First let me tell you, your performance tonight was magnificent, I have never heard anyone play like that.”
“Thanks.” Tara blushed and looked down.
“My name is Oz.” He extended his hand and tried to make eye contact.
“Tara.”
“Would you like to have coffee sometime.”
“Thanks, but I don’t think so, I’m gay.”
“Oh, well friends then? Actually I have ulterior motives, I am doing this playwright and I would love if you would head up the orchestra.”
“I don’t know, I mean I have never done anything like that before. Isn’t there someone else who is more qualified?”
“More qualified? No, you are the best I have ever heard and I don’t think anyone else would do my play justice.”
“Can I think about it?”
“Sure here is my card, please call me.” Oz handed Tara his card and left. Tara stared down at the card. She was feeling a little bored with the symphony, she loved it but felt like she needed a change, but she had never done anything so intense. She had always played it safe, and where had it got her. She was taken out of her revere by Faith who came up to her side.
“Who was that?”
“Um..his name was Oz, he wants me to head up the orchestra for his playwright.”
“Kind of cute, what did you say?”
“I said I would think about it, but I don’t think I am going to do it. I mean I don’t really think I am qualified.”
“What? Who is more qualified than you? I can think of nobody.”
“I know.”
“Come on, I know you don’t think you are good, but come on, you are first chair in the NYSO, you can’t get better than that.”
“I know, I said I would think about it.” Faith knew her friends tone and decided to leave it alone.

Ch 2

Willow awoke to the sound of sirens outside her window. She looked at the clock it was 11am. She peeled herself off of her leather sofa and noticed Oz’s play sitting on the floor. She remembered reading it and thought it was ok, it seemed like a fun thing to do, something different and she was going to do it. She picked up the phone and called Oz and made plans to meet with him on Friday.

Across town Tara awoke to the sounds of birds chirping outside and sunlight streaming in through the curtains. She felt oddly motivated, it seemed like some sort of energy was surrounding her. She looked at the night stand and noticed Oz’s card, she decided she would make this leap to something different. She had been doing the same thing for so long and it was time for a change. She called Oz and planned to meet with him on Friday. She lived in a small house on the outskirts of New York. She could afford bigger, but it didn’t make much sense being as it was just her. She had gone out on a few dates, and had a girlfriend at one point move in with her. That ended disastrously as Julie became abusive and although Tara loved her, she couldn’t put herself in that situation again. She quickly ended it, that was over a year ago, she found it hard to let someone in after what Julie had done. She tried to shake those thoughts from her mind, she was 25 and everything that happened in her past made her who she is today, and today was a good day she could feel it.

The week went by fast for both girls, rehearsals and performances took most of their time. Friday rolled around and both wound up at the same expensive sidewalk café waiting for Oz to arrive. Willow arrived first and sat outside enjoying the beautiful day and sipping on an iced tea. She noticed the beautiful blond walking down the sidewalk. Willow normally wouldn’t have blatantly stared at another woman, but she felt hidden by her sunglasses, and watched as the woman moved. She was gorgeous, her summer skirt flowed around her perfectly formed hips and her blue shirt wrapped around her waist and showed off some luscious breasts. Willow sat taking in the blond beauty, when she disappeared into the café. Willow prayed that she would sit outside, so she could ogle the girl more. she thought to herself with a coy smile.

Tara was seated outside which was fine with her, she loved being outside. She took out the score to Oz’s playwright, the composer was her favorite. She noticed the redhead sitting a few tables away. She was gorgeous and seemingly familiar. She hid behind her hair so the redhead wouldn’t notice her starring. The redhead was wearing a black suit with a large collar white shirt underneath, with just enough view of her creamy neck. Tara momentarily thought of what it would be like to run her tongue over that flesh. Tara quickly shook the vision out of her head. . She moved her vision down the other girl’s body and saw the black pants fit perfectly over petite legs. Tara glanced up at the beauty’s face, but quickly diverted it back to her score when she realized the redhead was starring back at her. At least she thought she was, she couldn’t tell because of the sunglasses the redhead was wearing. Tara looked down at the score again and began to half heartedly finger over the notes. She occasionally glanced up at the redhead quickly so she wouldn’t get caught.

Willow looked back at the blond. Just then Willow saw Oz appear from the door of the café. He walked over and she stood up and gave him a little hug.

Tara looked up when the woman stood and saw a young man walk over to her. The man then turned and she saw it was Oz, he looked over at her and motioned for her to come over. She stood up not sure if she should run the other way or actually meet the woman she had been smitten with. She took a deep breath grabbed her things and headed over.

After Willow and Oz exchanged pleasantries Oz spoke. “I have someone for you to meet.” He turned and motioned for the blond to come over. Willow was shocked she couldn’t move. The woman she was having exotic fantasies about was currently walking toward them. She felt all the blood drain to her feet and her heart was racing, she could only stand there and stare at the woman walking toward them. “Willow Rosenberg, this is Tara Maclay.”
Tara extended her hand and shyly said “It’s nice to meet you.”
Willow took her hand, it was so soft and when she touched it felt like electricity and caused Willow’s heart to skip a beat.
“Um…I…Hi.” Willow’s brain wouldn’t function.
“Um…this is Willow and her parents were cavemen.” Oz joked and gently bumped Willow’s hip with his.
“Yeah, Hi oh I already said that, I’m Willow, and again you already knew that.” Willow was still holding Tara’s hand although neither made a move to remove themselves from the embrace.
“So...Tara is a big wig at the NYSO, she is the best violinist I have ever heard, that is why I am hoping she is here to say yes to being the orchestra leader for the playwright.”
Tara looked down and removed her hand from Willow’s, embarrassed at being praised.
Willow was playing catch up with the conversation only having heard anything when Tara removed her hand. “Tara I assume you are familiar with Willow’s works.” Tara looked up confused. She looked back at the redhead, she did seem familiar, but Tara couldn’t place where she knew her from. Oz and Willow saw the look of confusion. “Didn’t you see A Truth Fire?” Oz asked.
“No.”
“Moisture Unfounded?” Willow threw in.
“Um..again No.”
“Well how about One Day Five Nights? Everyone watched that in the 80’s. Huge sitcom. Willow played Becky?”
“No sorry, I wasn’t allowed to watch TV as a kid and I guess I never really got into it as an adult.”
“Oh God don’t be sorry. I never thought I would meet someone who didn’t have a preconceived notion of me.” Willow said and smiled so brightly Tara thought her legs would give out right there.
“Well let’s have a seat so we can talk.” Oz said motioning at the table. “So did you both read the play?”
“Oh yes I love the score, it seems to fit perfectly with the play, and Robert Samfer is one of my favorite composers.”
“I hope that means that you will take the job?”
“Yes I would like it, I am not very qualified and I have never done anything like it before so I hope that is ok.”
“That is more than ok, Tara you are the best and I won’t settle for anything less.” With that he turned to Willow who had sat quietly in her own thoughts. “Willow how about you?”
“Count me in.” .
“Great, great. I’ll call both of you with more details. Tara if you want to start getting auditions for the orchestra, you can hold auditions at Carnegie, just tell them you are working with me and they can set up times and all that. If you will both excuse me I have a 2 o’clock.” Both women stood when Oz did and after he left Tara turned back toward the redhead. Feeling nervous again she said.
“I had better get going as well.” Willow felt her stomach drop, she wasn’t ready to let the blond leave.
“Yeah me too. Places to go things to do.” . As they entered the inside of the café it was extremely dark causing both girls to remove their sunglasses. “So I was thinking sometime maybe we could…” Willow stopped when she looked into Tara’s deep blue eyes. She was completely lost. . Tara was taken back by Willows emerald green eyes. But when the girl failed so say anything more Tara was worried.
“Willow are you ok?” Willow didn’t say anything. Tara reached out to touch Willows elbow. “Hey.” Willow was brought back by Tara’s gentle touch.
“Oh yeah um…sometime we could get together and discuss the play?” Willow asked hopeful.

“Okay, I’m free tomorrow.”
“Great I’ll call you.” Tara gave Willow her number and reluctantly left the redhead.

Tara had a ton of things to do and she didn’t even know where to begin. She arrived home and attempted to locate something on the Internet that would give her some idea of where to start, however her computer skills failed her yet again and she came up with nothing. She turned on some classical music and started to make dinner. She thought of the redhead and how her hair beautifully fell down her shoulders in waves of pure copper bliss. Tara pictured pinning Willow to a wall and threading her fingers through the copper locks. Kissing up and down Willow’s pale neck and up to her pulse point. Taking her hands and snaking them…. Tara was pulled from her lustful thoughts by the phone. She set down the knife she was cutting with, or rather not cutting with. She picked up the phone.
“Hello?”
“Hi, is um..Tara there?”
“Hi Willow, it’s me.” Tara would know that beautiful voice anywhere.
“Hi, I was just calling about…is that Vasilij Agapkin?”
“Um…Yeah it’s not too loud is it?”
“No I just really like it.”
“Oh..it’s just not something people usually recognize.”
“Well, there are a lot of things people don’t know about me. Especially you seeing as you have no idea who I am. Not that I am all pompous or anything, it’s refreshing actually, so many people think they know about me just from what they read or a certain character I played. Sorry.”
“For what?”
“Talking so much, I do that when I am nervous.”
“You are nervous?” Tara was feeling bold, since this was just a phone conversation.
“Well yeah…I mean calling a beautiful girl is definitely in the scary category.”
Tara blushed. “You think I’m beautiful?”
“I don’t think, I know your beautiful. I saw you remember, you were breathtaking.”
“Willow…”
“I know I am sorry. You are probably seeing someone and why not I mean who wouldn’t want to go out with you, you probably aren’t even into women and..”
“Thank you.”
“Thank you, I mean your welcome.” This time it was Willow’s turn to blush. “So tomorrow, um I was thinking we could meet at the library. If that’s ok and if not then somewhere else, it’s just that I like that place it is kind of a hideaway.”
“That’s fine, around Noon then?”
“Yeah I will see you then. Good Night Tara.”
“Good night Willow.”
Tara hung up the phone. Tara decided to attempt the internet again this time with a different topic in mind, Willow.

Willow sighed and fell back onto her couch. She stared out the window amazed that tomorrow she would get to see the blond goddess tomorrow. Suddenly noon tomorrow seemed so far away.

Hey there!

... this story is really adorable, and I really like it... I had just a few comments that I thought might help you.

The layout of your words is somewhat smashed together, so it makes it kind of hard on the eyes to read. If you put space between each line of dialogue, it would go a long way to help. So it would look a little like this:

Tara extended her hand and shyly said “It’s nice to meet you.”

Willow took her hand, it was so soft and when she touched it felt like electricity and caused Willow’s heart to skip a beat.“Um…I…Hi.” Willow’s brain wouldn’t function.

Does that make sense?

Also, generally speaking a playwright is the author of a play, and when one performs or reads that work, it would be referred to as the play and not the playwright.

Like I said, this is totally cute. Love their interactions, think it's great that Tara hasn't had much exposure to Willow's career. Should be a nice break for good ol' Will.

Can't wait to see more!
M.

chance - Thanks for the helpful tips, hopefully this chapter is easier to read

Kind of a cliffhanger at the end, but rest assured, there is much W/T goodness to be had.

Ch 3

Willow arrived early to the library and decided to do a little research before Tara arrived. She grabbed multiple programming books and sat down at a table and immersed herself in code. She was so caught up in her studies she didn’t see Tara approach. Tara saw Willow immediately when she entered. Willow looked so interested in what she was reading. She glanced at the titles of the books. Intermediate Java, PHP/Apache/MySql, she had no idea what these books were for. She watched Willow for a while, amazed at the passion that Willow showed to whatever it was she was reading. Tara approached and gently put her hand on Willows shoulder. Willow jumped at the contact “Tara!” Willow yelled and a few patrons looked up annoyed. Both girls looked embarrassed at Willow’s outburst.

“I didn’t mean to scare you.” Tara said in a hushed voice.

“No it’s fine it’s just I get kind of caught up reading and don’t realize the time or my surroundings.”

“Yeah what is this stuff. Java?”

“Another of my big secrets, I am a big geek. They are programming languages, I like to write software in my free time.”

“So your like gorgeous actor by day, super genius by night?” Tara smiled. Willow was taken back by the use of the work gorgeous. I mean sure plenty of people had told her she was gorgeous, but coming from Tara’s mouth it now had new meaning.

“It’s one of my many aliases. Let’s say we get some coffee?” Tara nodded. They walked down the busy New York street toward the coffee shop.

“Willow Rosenberg!” Someone yelled from behind them. They both turned around. “it is you, I just loved you in A Truth Fire, you were amazing, you portrayed Jenny with such passion, can I have your autograph.”

“Thanks, yeah sure, do you have a pen?”

“What are you doing in New York, I mean are you working on a new movie?”

“Um…just visiting.” Willow signed her autograph and said a few more words before trying to make a hasty exit from the fan. She turned around and saw Tara, she was looking down at the ground. “Hey sorry about that. It comes with the territory I guess.”

“You don’t live here?” Tara asked quietly.

“What, oh no I do, I just say that so people won’t know where I live.” Tara let out a relieved sigh, she didn’t know why it mattered it wasn’t like anything was going to happen. . Tara turned to Willow, her green eyes showed concern for the blond. She melted under Willows tenderness, and gave her a genuine smile. They arrived at the coffee shop and sat down with their drinks.

“So I feel a little overwhelmed, I have never done anything like this before. I tried to look stuff up online, but I couldn’t find anything, I don’t even know where to start.”

“If you want I can help, I am kind of good with the whole computer thing.”

“Yeah, I mean maybe tonight if you aren’t doing anything we could…” Tara’s voice trailed off as she looked at the table.

“Tara I would love to.” Willow wasn’t sure exactly what they were talking about, but if it mean prolonging their date then she was all for it.

“Well maybe you could come to my place tonight, I’ll even make us some dinner.” Tara smiled and lost herself in the green eyes before her.

“That would be wonderful.”

Willow arrived home still floating around in her Tara induced daze. She looked at her phone it was only 3:00 still another 4 hours until she could see Tara again, it seemed to long. She noticed she had a voicemail, she dialed and heard her best friend from California’s voice. “Hey Wil it’s Buffy. I am in New York for a few days for work and thought we could have dinner or something. Anyway give me a call. Lates.” Willow quickly dialed Buffy’s number.

“Hey Buffy, I just got your message.”

“Hey Wil, how about dinner?”

“Actually I can’t tonight I have a date.”

“Really?! That’s great Wil.”

“Why do you sound surprised, I go on dates. Ok that is a lie, but I do have one tonight.”

“Well who is it?”

“Her name is Tara and she is a violin player from the NYSO she is going to head up the orchestra for a play that I am in.”

“Hey Wil that is really great, maybe tomorrow dinner then?”

“Sure I will call you tomorrow. Bye Buff.”

“Bye Wil.”

.

Tara was nervous, the last girl that had been in her house had shoved her against the mirror in the hall and left Tara’s mirror and heart shattered. Tara tried not to think about that. Willow was different, there was something about her, she felt different around Willow. Sure she loved Julie, but had she really, she loved someone needing her, but Julie needed to much. That was the major problem, they both needed each other and in a way used each other, once that was gone there was nothing left in the relationship, except bitterness that Julie took out on Tara. Tara took off her shirt and noticed the scar just below her breast that stretched across her stomach, it was where Julie had tried to stab her with a knife. She only succeeded in making a large gash across Tara’s torso. Tara ran her fingers down the scar and a tear came from here eye. . Tara tried to get memories of Julie out of her mind, she dressed turned on some music and went about making dinner.

Willow walked up to Tara’s door, the house looked small, much smaller than her penthouse, but it had a certain homely feeling. Willow didn’t know how she could feel something from a house, but she could see Tara and herself making a home here, someone to come home to every night. Willow shook the thoughts from her mind, she had only just met the girl yesterday. She wiped her sweaty palms on her pants and rang the bell. Tara opened the door and both girls stood slack jawed at each other. Willow’s gaze ran from Tara’s beautiful straight long golden hair down to her tight red blouse that showed just enough cleavage. She had on tight black pants that fit in all the right places. Tara was similarly going over Willows frame. The petite girl was wearing a tight blue long sleeve shirt and jeans that fit snugly over her small hips. Tara realized she was starring and moved more into the house.

“Please come in.”

“Here I brought this.” Willows hand was outstretched with a bottle of wine. Tara recognized the label and knew the bottle was well over $100.

“Thanks, but you didn’t have to.”

“I wanted to, it is not often I have someone to share a nice bottle with. Unless you don’t drink in which case I am so sorry.”

“No I drink.” Tara took the bottle into the kitchen. . Tara came back out into the living room with two glasses of Willows wine. “Please have a seat. I made vegetarian lasagna, I hope you like it. It should be ready in half an hour.”

“I love lasagna.” Willow and Tara sat silently on Tara’s couch, it wasn’t uncomfortable, it felt nice just sitting and listening to music. Willow was the first to break the silence.

“Um…How long have you been playing.”

“As far back as I can remember, my grandfather bought me a violin when I was born. As soon as I was old enough to reach the strings I was playing.” Tara looked down at her glass of wine. “I don’t know if I can do this, it is a really big thing to head up an orchestra, I am just a player I don’t know how to do this.”

“That’s why I am here, right? Do you have a computer.”

“Yeah let me show you.” Tara got up and walked Willow to her office. It was nice and clean, nothing like the mess Willow was used to. Willow was definitely a clean person, but her desk was a mess of books, papers with scribbled code on them, and coffee stains everywhere. “Will you be ok, I need to check on dinner.”

“Yeah remember super genius.” Willow taped the side of her head with her finger. Tara smiled and walked out. Tara really didn’t need to check on dinner, but she couldn’t spend one more second next to the beautiful redhead with out ripping her clothes off and ravishing her. . Tara shook her head and started back toward the office.

“Hey.” Tara greeted her from the doorway.

“Hi, I think I have everything set up for you. I created this timetable of things that you need to do and how long they should take, give or take 30 minutes or so…” Willow started talking with out looking up, when she did she was struck speechless when she looked at Tara. She looked like an angel; she stood with her arms crossed leaning on the doorframe. Her blond hair seemed to shimmer in the artificial light of the bedroom. Her mouth was turned in a half smile. “h-here let me show you.” Willow motioned for Tara to join her at the desk. The blond leaned over Willows shoulder and could smell her shampoo, it was heavenly. Willow could feel Taras breath on the back of her neck, and it sent a shiver down her spine. “Ok so see I created this spreadsheet type thing and here it shows you the tasks that need to be completed, then here how long they should take, then I set up some web sites in your bookmarks if you get stuck on something, they have some helpful tips on how to get over certain hurdles. I mean I don’t know anything about this kind of stuff, but the consensus on the internet seems to all point to this sort of methodology.”

“You did all of this in 10 minutes?” Tara’s hand lightly traced over Willow’s which was tracing the timetable sheet. Both girls let out a small sigh and closed their eyes at the contact.

“Yeah…I…I….computer gal.” Willow found the closeness of Tara was directly effecting her speech. Somewhere off in the distance an alarm rang. It seemed so far away until Tara spoke.

“That would be our dinner. Come on!”

Both girls sat down and started eating and having casual conversation. Both feeling a little more at ease after having a few more glasses of wine.

“So..I don’t mean to pry, but while I was on your computer, I couldn’t help but notice you were doing a little research on me?” Tara looked up in shock she was busted. “Find anything interesting?”

“Well it appears as though you are some sort of movie star.”

“Yeah well I have starred in a few movies in my time.”

“I am just sorry I have never seen your work.”

“Oh it is nothing special.”

“That’s not what everyone else says. Apparently you are brilliant, a force to be reckoned with.” Tara quoted a review she found online, she smiled, but realized Willow was starring down at her plate. “Hey I’m sorry if I said something wrong.”

“Oh no Tara not wrong, can we just forget about it.”

“Sure.” Tara wasn’t sure what she had done, but she felt bad for it, and why wouldn’t Willow tell her.

“So who is this?” Willow pointed at the stereo.

“Holst? But I thought you would have known that?”

“I did just trying to change the subject.” Willow looked at Tara and any previous conversation was forgotten. They both smiled at each other.

“So you are really into classical music?”

“Yeah I find when I am really into the code, it helps me stay in that zone. It is like all these emotions wrapped into the music and they just flow out of me, so intense and it makes everything else so much more intense. Sorry I am such a geek.”

“I’ll be right back.” Tara stood from the couch and left the room.

Just then Tara came back into the room with her violin.

“I want to play something for you.”

Willow could only nod at the prospect of this goddess playing something for her. Tara was nervous, she took a breath and closed her eyes and started to play. Willow was in heaven. Tara’s movements were so beautiful, her blond hair swayed back and forth with each movement of her bow. The music was soft and slow and Tara’s body seemed to be in perfect harmony with the music. The music then gradually got louder and faster, and it sent chills down Willows spine, and sent Goosebumps through out her skin. Willow watched as Tara’s fingers moved masterfully over the strings. Then the music went back to slow and soft as the piece ended. Willow felt an energy around her like never before, it was intense, she felt intense passion for the woman in front of her, she could explain it, it was powerful.

Tara slowly opened her eyes to meet emerald green with unshed tears. Willow stood and slowly walked toward Tara her eyes never moving from the blue oceans in front of her. She felt like she was walking through a thick cloud of emotion, like there was so much in the room it was causing her to move in slow motion. Tara watched Willow as she made her way toward her, never removing her eyes from Willows. She saw something deep in Willow’s soul, it was love, and passion, it was so pure and true. Willow reached up and caressed Tara’s cheek where the violin had once rested. Tara still held the instrument and bow down at her side. Her flesh burned when Willow touched it, she wanted the woman in front of her so bad. It was as if every ounce of her wanted to be a part of Willow. If her soul wanted to be the soul of Willow, as if they were called together by something neither could voice. Willow leaned toward Tara their breath mixing in front of them. Then it happened. Tara got scared, she was afraid about wanting something so much, it had caused her so much pain before so she pulled away. The connection was broken, it was as though the fog that surrounded them was shattered and fell away.

“Do you want something else to drink?” Tara asked as she walked toward the kitchen. Willow wasn’t sure what just happened. It was like she was in this euphoric state, then all of a sudden she was now brought down to Earth only to have a knife stabbed into her gut. She felt sick and nauseous.

“I…should….go.” Willow stammered as she rushed out the front door. Tara turned only to see a flash of red disappear out the door. She stood in the living room with her violin and bow still attached to the end of her arms.

Excellent. Much easier to read, thank you.

Love the development, hate to see W/T always running away from each other when we all know they should be together, but... alas...

Looking forward to more.

Alright here is Chapter 4, it's happy, no angst, lots of fluffy rainbows.

But don't worry the angst will be back, it's just on hiatus at the moment.

Ch 4

As Willow drove back to her apartment she was furious with the blond. Willow thought as tears rolled down her face. She picked up her cell phone and called Buffy.

As Buffy opened her hotel room door and blubbering redhead embraced her before Buffy could even say Hi.

“Oh Wil, what happened?” Buffy said as she tried to maneuver into the hotel room and shut the door and still hang on to Willow.

“Oh Buffy I screwed everything up, I am such an idiot.”

“Wil you could never be an idiot, and if anyone makes you feel that way, they aren’t worth it. Calm down and tell me what happened.”

“Well things were going well, we were really clicking, the she played the violin for me and god Buffy it was so beautiful, then it was like everything was so intense and I got up and went over to kiss her, and then she pulled away and I left.”

“That’s it?”

“Buffy what do you mean that’s it? I totally messed everything up, my face will probably be plastered on the tabloids, Creepy gay movie star tries to grope beautiful goddess.”

Buffy laughed glad her Willow was back to normal.
“Look do you really think Tara would do that? Maybe she just got scared I mean you did say it was intense?”
“Yeah I don’t know, I am just emotionally drained, can I stay here tonight?”
“Sure, climb in Wil.” Buffy said as she pulled down the covers on the bed.

***---***---***
The next day at orchestra rehearsal Faith noticed the far away look in Tara’s eyes.

“Hey T, what up? Bad date?”

“Yeah you could say that, or national disaster would be more like it.”

“She didn’t hurt you did she?” Faith was still sore about Julie and vowed that no one would ever hurt Tara again.

“No, but I think I hurt her.”

“Either you are about to tell me something incredibly kinky or…”

“No old insecure Tara reared her ugly head.”

“Your head could never be ugly, what happened?”

“Well we were having such a great time, she really is a wonderful person Faith so smart, funny, and drop dead gorgeous. I started playing violin for her.”

“Wait.” Faith interrupted. “You played violin for her?”

“Yeah, why?”

“You have never played for anyone. Including me.”

“I know, I just felt something for her, and I wanted to give it to her, I wanted to give her my soul. It was intense. Anyway she started walking toward me and it was like I could see her soul and it was so clean and pure and it scared me, so I backed away. Then she ran out.”

“Oh Tara, it’s not your fault. It’s hard for you to let people in, so many people have hurt you and could hurt you again. It’s ok that you were scared. She should have known and not made you feel bad, instead she just walked out.”

“No Faith it isn’t like that, I did something awful to her. I made her think I was interested, and I was, still am, but then I pushed her away for no reason. It will be pretty awkward at practice for the play. Speaking of that, I need to do auditions, would you like to be lead percussion?”

“Like you have to ask.”

***---***---***

Willow sat in her apartment starring out her expansive windows, but not really looking at anything. The buzzer rang by her door, she got up and pressed the button.

“Yeah.”
“Ma’am there is someone here to see you.”

“I told you I didn’t want to be interrupted.”

“She says she is a friend of Tara.” Willow’s eyes widened when she heard Tara’s name.

“Ok.” She waited for the alleged friend of Tara’s to take the elevator ride. She didn’t know why but she was scared. Once she opened the door she knew why. The woman was dressed in all leather with bright red lipstick standing out from her pale skin and jet black hair.

“You got a lotta nerve Red.” The newcomer said as she entered the apartment with out invitation. “Nice place though, I like the sofa, should be black though.” She said as she ran her fingers over the top of the leather couch.

“Who are you?”

“Tom told you, he is pretty nice when he has to be.”

“You are a friend of Tara’s.”

“You are a quick one Red.”

“My name is Willow, and yours?”

“Oh Faith, best friend of one Tara Maclay.” Faith held out her hand and the redhead slowly took it still unsure about Faith. Faith plopped down on the sofa and put her feet on the coffee table and stretched her arms out above her head. “Nice view Red, must have cost a fortune.”

“Um..I guess. Can you tell me why you are here?”

“Kind of rude aren’t you Red, not even offering me a drink. I don’t know what Tara sees in you, I mean you are kind of cute, if you are into the whole red thing.”

“Sorry would you like something to drink?” Secretly Willow would have done anything for one of Tara’s friends, but she wasn’t about to admit that to herself.

“Whisky.”

Willow went to the kitchen and grabbed a glass for Faith and one for herself she figured she would need one. When she returned she handed the glass to Faith.

“Wow that is some high quality shit Red, are you like rich or something?”

“I do ok.” Willow asked keeping a concerned eye on Faith.

“I could really get used to living here.”

“What?!” Willow looked at Faith horrified.

“Oh keep your pants on Red it is just a figure of speech.” Faith downed the rest of her glass. “So am I going to have a problem with you?”

“What?” Willow couldn’t follow Faith’s ramblings

“Me, you, problem with Tara.”

“No, I am pretty sure she never wants to see me again.”

“God Red Tara said you were smart, but I don’t see it.”

“She said I was smart?” Willow smiled at the thought.

“Hey, Red Focus!” Faith snapped her fingers in front of Willow’s face. Willow was very annoyed but the thought that Tara told someone she was smart made her feel warm and safe. “ugh, look, you really hurt her by running out on her last night. I am here to make sure Tara never gets hurt again, and I take that job very seriously.”

“No, no I would never hurt Tara.”

“Too late, so you better go apologize before she meets someone who can treat her the way she deserves to be treated.”

“Ok I get it, now get out!”

“Woah there Red, I kind of like you.” Faith said as Willow ushered her out the door. Faith left Willow’s building, hopefully the redhead didn’t tell Tara of her little visit or she would have some explaining to do. She knew what she did was right; she would die before she let someone hurt Tara again. She could still picture Tara lying on the floor blood everywhere Tara unconscious and Julie no where to be seen.

***---***---***

Tara was awoken by a knock on her door, she had fallen asleep on the couch reading. She put the book on the coffee table and straightened out her hair and smoothed her skirt. She looked through the peep hole and saw Willow, her heart skipped a beat at the sight of the redhead. She opened the door.

“Hi.”

“Hi, um..come in”

“Thanks.” Willow walked into Tara’s house, it seemed different than when she was there before. She felt out of place, unwanted. “Tara I am so sorry for running out on you the other night it was just…”

“No Willow it’s ok it was my fault…”

“No it was me, I felt embarrassed for trying to kiss you. I mean I have never been rejected before, but I have never wanted anyone like I want you. There I go again insert foot in mouth, I mean if you just want to be friends that is cool too because I would like that very much and I am just really sorry for putting you in an awkward situation.”

“Willow breathe! Here sit down, do you want something to drink, I have something to tell you. Looks I caught your babbling disease.” Tara let out a forced laugh and Willow meekly smiled.

“I’ll just have water.” Tara went into the kitchen and came back with water for both of them. She sat down on the couch with Willow.

“I am going to tell you something because I don’t know how to explain how I feel and I this is the only way I can explain it.”

“ok” Willow knew this was big that it was something Tara needed to tell her in order for them to move on with whatever this was.

“I had a good childhood, I really did. It was normal and happy, then everything changed when my mom died. I was 14. After that dad changed, he was angry at the world for taking away his love. I tried my best to please him, but sometimes I would do bad things and get punished. I thought if I could just make it until I was 18 I would be ok, and I guess I am. I left that all behind when I left home. Water under the bridge I guess. But it came back to haunt me. I meet Julie and fell in love with her. She was an alcoholic and I thought I could help. I guess I saw a little of myself in her and wanted to make her pain go away. She needed me to take care of her, and I needed someone to take care of. But after that wore off I found I couldn’t help her she had to do it herself, I couldn’t make her stop drinking and things just went down hill. I don’t know if we were ever in love, we both used each other for our own selfish needs. Once I figured it out I tried to get her to leave, but that turned bad like so many things before. Thank God Faith found me when she did otherwise I might not have made it. It’s really hard for me to trust people, and last night I felt so vulnerable and I could just see things happening and it was just scary.”

For Willow everything fell into place, she was crying at the things the blond had to go through, she could imagine anyone wanting to hurt such a wonderfully caring person. It all made sense now, but Willow would never hurt her she had to know that, but how would she. Willow was moving way too fast, they really didn’t know anything about each other. Tara had been looking down at her lap and playing with a stray string on her skirt. When Willow didn’t say anything Tara looked up afraid at what she would find. She looked at Willows tear streaked face and saw nothing but understanding and caring.

“Don’t cry, I don’t. It happened, but it has made me who I am today.”

“You are so strong Tara, you have the most precious soul and I am sorry if I did anything to hurt you. You have to know I would never ever do anything to harm you.” Tara reached both hands up to cup Willow’s cheeks.

“I think I know that, and I really like you Willow.”

Willow looked into Tara’s clear blue eyes and got a glimpse of her soul and it made her breath catch. She couldn’t imagine a more beautiful soul. Tara slowly leaned toward Willow keeping her eyes locked with the redhead. Her hands remained on Willows cheeks slowly pulling Willow’s face to hers. Both girls closed their eyes at the last second, their lips brushed against each other. Both girls let out the breath they didn’t know they were holding. Willow felt like the whole world had melted away and all that remained were her and Tara. Tara’s hands slowly moved from Willow’s cheeks to the back of her neck and tangled in the coppery strands, they felt like silk as she ran her fingers through Willow’s hair. Willow moved her hands to Tara’s hips as she moved her mouth up and down on Tara’s. Tara felt her heart melt as she enjoyed the kiss, it felt right, it wasn’t scary she couldn’t think about anything but Willow, nothing else mattered at that moment, just Willow.

Willow was the first to break the kiss, her eyes still closed, she rested her forehead against Tara’s. Willow suddenly pulled away, her eyes wide. “I have to go.”

Tara opened her eyes when she felt Willows touch disappear. She looked horrified at Willow. Willow saw the look on Tara’s face.

“Oh no sweetie, not like that. God I wish I could stay all night and just look at you and hold you, but a friend of mine is in town and I promised that I would have dinner with her tonight.” Tara smiled and blushed at Willow’s words.

“No, it’s ok, you should go.” Willow reluctantly stood and Tara followed her to the door.

“Um…so I guess I will see you later.” Tara wasn’t sure how to proceed, where they girlfriends now, exclusive, just friends with benefits? Willow grabbed Tara’s hands and pulled her in for a chaste kiss, she looked deep into Tara’s eyes.

“I’ll call you.” Willow said before turning and, suppressing the urge to skip, jogged to her car. She sat in her car for a moment trying to calm herself down, her whole body tingled and the blood was rushing so fast through her veins she thought she might pass out. She picked up her cell phone to call Buffy and tell her to meet her at the restaurant, since she was going to be late.

Sorry it's been a while, but here is chapter 5.

Ch 5.

Tara sat in the audition room and sighed. She looked at her watch it was only 11, this was going to be a long day. Her next appointment wasn’t until noon she decided to play a little, hoping to make time go by faster.

Willow stood at the door peering in through the glass. She watched Tara in awe, how could someone be so beautiful. She closed her eyes as she listened to the magic that was coming out of Tara’s violin, she felt like her soul was being pulled from her body and wrapped in Tara’s energy. She felt safe at ease like this was her world and she never wanted to leave. The music stopped and she opened her eyes to look at Tara, Tara’s brow furrowed as she closed her eyes in defeat. Willow hated to see that look, she opened the door. Tara looked up and was happily greeted by the sight of her girlfriend. . Willow leaned against the doorframe and gave her best seductive smile. Tara’s smile grew and she looked at Willow with a knowing glance.

“What are you doing here?”

“Well it seems as though I have an addiction.”

“Really …what?” It was Tara’s turn to give a seductive smile.

“Excuse me!” Willow and Tara both turned around to see a young brunette standing at the door with a violin case. “Um…I am here for the audition.” She said when neither of the women said anything.
“Yes, Hi I am Tara Maclay.” Tara walked forward and stuck out her hand. “And this is Willow Rosenberg.” Willow was prepared to meet another fan, but when the girl didn’t even look over, Willow was a little confused.

“Oh my God you are really Tara Maclay?”

“In the flesh.” Tara said and blushed.

“It is so good to meet you, you are like a violin God, and very beautiful, if I may say.” Tara blushed and looked down at the floor embarrassed by the flattery. Willow was feeling a little left out and a lot jealous. She cleared her throat. Both the girl and Tara looked at her.

“Oh Hi, I’m Dawn, your like that movie star huh?” Dawn stuck out her hand clearly not impressed with the redhead.

“Yeah something like that. Tara I’ll just wait outside.” Willow wanted to take Tara in her arms and kiss her or just touch her, anything to make the feeling of despair leave from her body. Willow turned with out looking at the blond. She stopped when she felt a hand on hers, she looked down and saw Tara’s beautiful fingers on hers. She looked up into concerned blue eyes. Tara had seen the crestfallen look on Willow and it broke her heart, she needed to do something to make her feel better. She was still unsure of their relationship or even if Willow was out to the public, but she tried to send all her feelings through her eyes and touch.

“I won’t be long.” Was all she could think of to say, as she slowly let Willow’s hand drop from hers.

Willow nodded and walked outside. Willow put the palms of her hands on her eyes.

“So is she like your girlfriend or something?” Dawn asked.

“Um…I’m not sure what we are, we are friends.” Dawn just looked at Tara with an eyebrow raised. “So shall we get started?”

Dawn took out her violin and started to play. She was good, she was very good. Willow looked up from the floor when she heard Dawn start to play. . When Dawn stopped playing Willow got up and peered in the window. She saw Tara motion for her to come in. Willow opened the door and sat on the stair.

“Dawn that was very good, just watch the speed on those runs, but I chalk that up to nerves.” Tara smiled at Dawn. Willow watched the interaction between the two and was suddenly having visions of Tara with their child, she was so good with kids. She pictured Tara teaching their child to ride a bike and take care of the owies that were associated with bike riding. Willow shook the thoughts from her head as quickly as they came and didn’t give them a second thought. She couldn’t they scared her too much.

“Thank you so much Tara, it would be an honor to work under you. My friends aren’t going to believe I actually met you. You are amazing, so beautiful, the way you play I can only dream of being as good as you.”

“Thanks Dawn, I’ll be in touch.”

“Bye Willow.” Dawn said as she left.

“Hey are you ok?” Tara said as she lightly touched Willows shoulder. It sent shivers down Willows spine. Willow put on her best acting smile, but Tara knew it was fake.

“No I’m fine.” Willow said with her cheesy smile, that could fool anyone, almost anyone.

Tara sighed. “Willow I am not going to play games, so if that is what you are about then maybe w-we should end this.” Tara crossed her arms and looked down at the floor, she was going to be more honest with her partners she didn’t want another Julie to happen because she kept her feelings hidden.

“What Tara? No! I’m sorry it is just a habit. When things get to intense, to real, I get scared and just start acting my life instead of living it, that way things aren’t so painful because it is just an act.”

“I made you feel pain?”

“No, I mean yes, but it is just me being stupid. I got all jealous girl and it hurt when Dawn was saying those things to you, I wanted to be the only one to tell you how amazing and beautiful and absolutely breathtaking you are. I mean I know I have no right to not want people to tell you what you are, see just me being all stupid.”

Tara took Willows hands in her own.

“You know, people tell me how beautifully I play all the time and how amazing I am, but I never knew what those words meant until I met you. You told me all that and more when I played for you. I never thought those words could mean anything until you spoke them. Do you get it at all.”

“I think I do. So…do you have plans tonight?”

“No, I have an audition until 7, but no plans after that.”

“Ok well you are coming to my apartment for dinner.”

“I didn’t know you could cook.”

“There are a lot of things you don’t know about me Miss Maclay.” Willow said as she ran her finger from Tara’s ear, down her neck and came to rest right above her cleavage. She could see Tara’s breasts move as her breath caught in her mouth. Willow wanted nothing more than to kiss every inch of the beautiful blond in front of her, but honoring Tara’s wishes to take it slow, she moved back a little. “I’ll swing by here at 7 then?”

“Sounds good.” Tara watched as Willow left.

***---***---***
Willow showed up at Buffy’s hotel unannounced, but she knew it would be ok.

“Hey Wil.”

“Hey.” Willow entered and flopped down on the unoccupied bed. “What cha doing?”

“Working, some of us have a real job that we have to go to 7 days a week.” Buffy sat down on the other bed in a space she had made among the files and papers.

“Big case?”

“Yeah, we think he is hiding out somewhere around here.” Buffy said as she tried to make more room on the bed without disturbing the carefully placed papers. Buffy had met Willow when she was training for the part of a female FBI agent. She needed some tips and experience to play the part so a friend had suggested Buffy, the two girls became instant friends. “So how are things with the new beau? Or beauess?”

“Great, we are having dinner tonight. She is so beautiful and wonderful, and kind of scary. She makes me feel things I have never felt before, it’s just wow. Ya know?”

“Yeah Wil I know.”

***---***---***
“Hey T, Any luck?”

Tara looked up at Faith. “A few potentials, not bad I guess, it’s just nothing stands out.”

“Look I wanted to talk to you about Willow.”

“What about her?” Tara looked up with a concerned eye.

“Well she’s an actress you know?”

“Uh Duh?”

“It’s just I don’t want you to get hurt. I know these types, they are love em and leave em type of people. They act for a living, how are you to know if they are being truthful or if it is fake. I just don’t want you to get hurt again.”

“Faith, I know you feel bad about what happened, but it wasn’t your fault. Things happen, I feel something with Willow, something I have never felt before. She makes me feel safe and when I am around her as much as I try to be careful and not put my heart out there, but something about her makes me want to give her everything that I have. I’ll be careful ok?”

“Ok I’m just looking out for you ya know?”

“Uh…Hi?” Willow didn’t want to interrupt the friends, but didn’t want to just stand there.

“Hey you. I want you to meet my best friend Faith.”

“Uh…Yeah we have met.” Willow said and refused to look Faith in the eye, she was still a little scared of the feisty woman.

“What?” Tara looked at Faith.

“Yeah well, nice to see you again Red, look T I gotta go, catch up with you later.” Faith said as she made a hasty getaway. Tara looked back at Willow.

“Come on let’s go, I’ll explain in the car.”

“Ok we are in the car now spill, how do you know Faith.”

“She came to my apartment once.”

“Were you guys like involved?” Tara was nervous she knew of Faith’s casual flings and hoped beyond hope that Willow was not one of them.

“Oh no Tara nothing like that. I am kind of partial to blond Greek goddess like women, well woman.” She took Tara’s hand in her own as she weaved through the traffic to her apartment. “She came over after we had our little misunderstanding; basically the jest of it was if I hurt you she will kill me.”

“I am so going to kill her.”

“It was kind of sweet in a crazy, rude, obnoxious sort of way." They pulled into Willow’s building and made their way up to Willow’s apartment. As they stepped out into Willow’s penthouse Tara was in awe.

“Willow, oh my God, you could fit my entire house in the living room, and you can like see the entire city.” Willow watched as Tara stood looking out her expansive windows.

“Willow it’s beautiful.”

“No, your beautiful.” Tara turned to face Willow, Willow slowly walked over and took Tara in her arms and kissed her deeply. Tara felt like her legs were going to give out, if it wasn’t for Willows strong arms holding her up she knew she would have. Willow’s hands were in Tara’s hair and caressing the nape of her neck, she backed Tara up so she was leaning against the cold glass of the window. Tara’s body was on fire and the coolness of the glass was a welcome relief. Willow licked Tara’s bottom lip asking for entrance, Tara opened her mouth more than happy to let Willow in. Tara’s hands ran up and down Willows back. Her hands came to rest on the top of Willows jeans, her hands moved under the fabric of Willow’s shirt, she could feel how hot Willow’s skin felt under her hands. It was so smooth and soft. Willow moaned into Tara’s mouth as she felt Tara’s hands under her shirt. The pair was interrupted by the buzz of Willow’s door.

“I have to get that.” Willow said as she reluctantly pulled away from Tara’s grasp. Tara could only nod and try to regain some sense of composure. Willow went to the intercom and spoke with the other person. “Dinners almost ready.” Willow said as Tara looked over to the kitchen which was spotless, she looked back at Willow and raised an eyebrow. The doors to the elevator opened and Willow exchanged money for little white boxes. She blushed as she turned around with Chinese take out in her hand.

“I thought you said you were cooking.”

“Well I didn’t think you would want pancakes and macaroni & cheese.”

“Don’t you have, well ya know, people?”

Willow shot Tara a look of disgust.

“Tara what do you think I am?” Willow said with some hurt in her voice as she walked to the kitchen to set down the box.

“I didn’t mean anything by it, it’s just a place this big, I mean how much did it cost, oh that is rude I’m sorry, it’s just, I didn’t mean anything by it.”

“No it’s ok. I mean no one really knows me, everyone just assumes.”

“Willow I…”

“No really, it’s ok. I push people away, but I don’t want to do that with you.”

“Chinese sounds good.” Tara tried to change the subject. She was greeted with the brightest smile from Willow.

After dinner they both sat on the couch, Willow behind Tara with her arms around the blond playing with her fingers. “I really love this view Willow.”

“I know that was really the only reason I bought it. Why would I ever need 5 bedrooms, but the view is fantastic. I feel like I am looking down at the world, kind of like I’m floating above everything just watching.” Willow thought about what she said. It was true, she wasn’t really living life. She didn’t have one outside of acting, which was all fake anyway. She wasn’t down there living, she was up here in her cave. But her cave turned into a temple and now she had her goddess with her.

“I want to know everything about you Willow.” Tara’s hand tightened on the redheads.

“Like what?”

“Like where you grew up, what was your childhood like, do you have any siblings, are you close with your parents?”

“Um…Well lets see. I grew up in California, Sunnydale. My childhood mostly consisted of me going to auditions and acting, and occasionally getting in trouble with Xander, I am an only child, and I have never been close with my parents. Ok now you.”

“Ok I grew up in Alabama, small town. I had a good childhood, normal. I have one brother, and I was close with my mom, but not my dad so much. OK ok my turn.” The blond was excited as she turned around to face Willow. “Xander, you have never mentioned him before, are you two still close?”

“Um.. Yeah we are still close, I think. A while back he got into some drug problems and he is in rehab now, he isn’t allowed to have any contact with the ‘outside’ not yet anyway. We are really good friends, I think I kept my sanity because of him. We were both in the same school growing up, both child stars, we went to a ‘special’ school a few hours a day to keep us up with the rest of the kids our age. There was this one time we snuck off and were horsing around and lets just say we knocked over a really expensive piece of a set. We ran like crazy around the studio trying to get away from the director, it was funny, and so scary at the same time. When we got older the parties started and Xander couldn’t help himself to all the free drugs that were offered to him. He bottomed out when no one would cast him for anything because he couldn’t ever show up to rehearsal and when he did he looked like death warmed over. It was really sad to see him like that, I tried so hard to get him out, but he had to do it himself.” Tara thought momentarily about Julie. “Ok now you, your brother Donny?”

“Well we never really got along growing up, he would always beat me up and make fun of me, ya know typical sister/brother stuff. After mom died we became close. When things got bad with dad, he would always try to protect me. I haven’t seen much of him lately, he married and has two daughters that are his world. They are so cute, they have his attitude. Casey and Carrie. They live in Washington so it is hard to visit.” Tara had snuggled back into Willow’s embrace while she told the story. They both sat there in silence as they looked out on the sunset. “Willow?” Tara asked.

“Yeah?”

“Can I watch one of your movies?”

“Um…yeah I guess, I mean you know it is a free country, you can watch what you want.”

“I mean do you want me too?”

“Not really.” Tara sat up so she could look into Willow’s eyes. “You know you can, it’s just that I don’t really want you to. I don’t know how to explain it. It’s like a fake me, and I don’t want you to see that. It’s just something that I do, it’s not special or anything it has never taken much. It isn’t like what you do that takes talent, acting it’s just something I have always been good at. I want you to know the real me, everyone sees the fake me and no one knows the real me and I want you to have that.”

“I think I understand, there is something I want you to do for me.”

“Ok.” Willow was a little confused. Tara got up and went to the door and grabbed her violin.

“Stand up.” Willow obeyed still unsure of what was going on, but . “Turn around.” Willow did as she was told. She felt Tara’s arms around her as she placed the violin on Willows shoulder. “Ok put your chin here.” Tara pointed at the chin rest as she held the violin up for Willow. “Now put your hand here and hold the bow like this.” Willow placed her hands on the bow, it was a lot heavier than she thought. Tara wrapped Willows hand in her own and brought the bow up toward the violin. Tara held the violin against Willow and began to move the bow over the strings as she moved her fingers. Willow felt the vibrations move through her body she let out a groan and moved her free arm behind her and around Tara’s waist. Willow felt Tara move her right hand up and down with the bow still in it, the sound was amazing. It reverberated around the whole apartment bouncing off the huge open space. Willow leaned back into Tara’s body feeling her breasts press into her back. Willow was in heaven. She felt the wetness in her core grow and seep out into her underwear. Tara kept playing as she started kissing up and down Willows pale neck. Willow arched her head back to allow Tara more access. Tara kissed down Willows neck to her shoulder and back up to suck on her pulse point.

“Tara…” Willow let out a seductive groan. Tara brought Willows hand down with the bow in it and removed the violin from Willows shoulder. The silence was deafening.

“Music!” Willow yelled as the stereo kicked on and played soft classical music.

Tara placed the violin on the couch and brought her hands up to Willows stomach never letting go of Willows neck. Her fingers traced under Willows shirt and made small circles on her stomach. Willow reached her hand around and grabbed Tara’s head and pressed it harder into her neck.

“God Tara I want you so much.” Willow groaned her tone lower than normal. Tara reached under Willows shirt and grabbed her petite breasts and gently massaged them.

“Willow I want you too, I need you right now.” Tara whispered in Willows ear. Willow’s eyes grew as she turned around in Tara’s arms so she could look at the blond goddess that was saying she wanted her. She looked into Tara’s eyes that seemed to have gotten a shade darker than she remembered.

“But…Slow?” Tara’s heart melted at the fact Willow would do anything she wanted her to do even stop.

“I know, but I can’t Willow, I have to have you right now, I can’t wait, and you make me feel something I have never felt before.” Willow looked into Tara’s eyes full of want and arousal. She grabbed the blond and thrust her tongue into Tara’s mouth. Tara fought Willow with her own tongue and ran her hands down to Willow’s shirt and started to tug it above Willows head. Their lips parted for a split second as Willow lifted her arms above her head to allow Tara to remove her shirt.

“Bedroom?” Tara gasped between kisses. Willow grabbed Tara’s hand and almost ran to her bedroom. Once they were inside, both became a little shy knowing for sure what was about to happen. Willow stood there in her black lace bra and tight jeans. Tara took in the radiant beauty in front of her. “Do you know how absolutely breathtaking you are?”

“No Tara…” Tara placed a finger on Willows lips to quiet the redhead.

“Willow, your soul it is so wonderful and pure and every part of you is absolutely gorgeous.” Willow felt her heart swell and her legs feel weak at Tara’s words, but the blond was there to hold her up. The two kissed passionately for a few minutes, each trying to memorize the others body. When it became too much, Tara reached around and undid Willow’s bra and let it fall to the floor. She stood there just taking in the gorgeous redhead, before she took Willow’s breasts in her hands and massaged them gently as she returned to kissing Willow.

Willow was the next to make a move, she broke the kiss and started to undo the buttons on Tara’s top. She got half way down and looked into Tara’s eyes to make sure what she was doing was ok. Tara’s eyes were full of love and arousal. Willow let the shirt fall to the floor as she caught a glimpse of Tara’s scar. She stared at it for a moment not believing what she was seeing. The scar went from the underneath side of Tara’s breast and moved diagonally along her torso above her bellybutton before coming to a stop right above her hip. Willow ran her hand across the entire length of it before she looked up at Tara with tears in her eyes. She wasn’t sure at how Tara got it, but was pretty sure it was from Julie. She could believe someone would want to hurt such a magnificent creature.

Tara saw the unshed tears in Willows eyes and knew what she was thinking. She grabbed Willows face and brought them forehead to forehead and gently placed a chaste kiss on Willows lips letting her know she was ok, whatever happened it was in the past and all that mattered was them, together, now. Tara reached behind her and undid her bra and let it slide down her body. Willow stood amazed at the fleshy orbs in front of her. She reached out and grabbed both in her hands and brought her face down to kiss along each of them. She heard Tara groan as Tara’s hands traced up her naked back. Willow moved Tara back closer to the huge bed, she reached down and undid the buttons from Tara’s jeans and moved them down her muscular legs. Tara did the same and both women kicked the jeans off. Willow bent down and grabbed Tara’s butt and hoisted her up on the bed. Tara wrapped her legs around Willow and Willow could feel Tara’s moist center press into her stomach. Willow moaned at the feeling.

“God baby your so wet.” Willow whispered into Tara’s ear before lightly sucking on the lobe. Tara shivered as Willows words vibrated against her ear.

Willow laid Tara back on the bed and climbed on top. Propped up by her own arms Willow looked down at Tara, hoping that she would be able to please this goddess in a way she deserved.

“Tara…I’ve never done this before.” Willow admitted.

“Willow it’s ok, it’s pretty much the same as with a man.”

“No I mean, I’ve never done it before.”

“Oh.” Realization coming to Tara, this was Willow’s first time, with anyone and she was sharing it with her. The thought making her ache with need and love.

“I just don’t want to disappoint…” Willow only got so far before she was cut off by soft lips on her own. Tara broke the kiss and began kissing up her neck to her ear.

“Willow, stop thinking just feel.” She whispered in her ear, causing Willow to shudder with pleasure. Tara leaned back down on the bed pulling Willow with her. She grabbed Willows hand and interlaced her fingers. She brought both hands down to her center, and guided Willows fingers along her folds. “Do you feel that?” Willow bit her lip and nodded. “See what you do to me. I need you Willow, now.” Willow found her courage hearing Tara’s words and began to slowly rub her clit. Willow moved her mouth down to suck on Tara’s breasts. Tara let go of the woman on top of her and moved her hands to find something to grab onto, only succeeding in finding the bed sheets which she balled into her fists. Willow slowly moved down Tara’s body, kissing and nipping every part of Tara’s flesh. She finally made it to her destination and deeply inhaled Tara’s scent. She wanted to memorize everything about this wonderful woman below her. She gazed up at her lover, Tara lifted her head wondering why Willow had stopped. “You are gorgeous.” Willow exhaled.

“Please touch me baby.” And Willow did just that. Her tongue running up Tara’s slick folds, taking her first taste of the woman. She was in heaven as she tasted Tara’s essence, the woman below her writhing in passion. Willow felt her own center drip onto the sheets every time Tara moaned. Willow continued tasting and memorizing the wonderful scent of her woman, until Tara pulled Willow’s face up to meet hers.

“Together, I want us…together.” Tara sputtered out as she kissed the beautiful redhead. Tara moaned as she tasted herself on Willow’s mouth. “Oh God Willow.” She groaned as she reached her hand down to find Willow’s center waiting, dripping with her juices. Willow mimicked Tara’s progress and found her hand stroking Tara’s wet folds. Each girl locked eyes with the other and felt everything melt away. Both entered each other and let out a sigh as they felt themselves being taken by the other.

Willow thrust into Tara, and felt Tara thrust in return. She couldn’t move her eyes way from the blond goddess in front of her. She felt everything drift away, drowning in the pools of blue. As she reached her climax she felt her body slip away, as her mind entered nirvana. She felt Tara’s presence there too, wrapping her in a love so pure and true, Willow felt complete. She felt herself drift into consciousness, listening to the most beautiful voice call her name.

“Willow?” Tara whispered. The redhead opened her eyes to find her lovers. “You ok?”

“More than ok, I feel, just, wow.” Willow managed to say. “It’s just so wow, and I felt like I wasn’t here, but I was with you, and it was wonderful.”

“I know I was there too.” Willow raised her eyebrows for the blond to continue. “Our souls Willow, they know each other.” Willow smiled at the thought and rested her head on Tara’s shoulder, with Tara’s arms firmly wrapped around her. That’s how they fell asleep.

NEW YEARS RESOLUTION - More writing!!!

Thanks to everyone who is still reading this, the feedback keeps me goin'

Chapter 6 (sorry it's a shortie and not much W/T)

Tara was the first to wake, she glanced at the body that lay next to her. She couldn’t see Willow’s face, and some how during the night Willow had tangled her self in the silk sheet leaving nothing for Tara. She moved closer to the sea of red splayed out in front of her. She inhaled deeply, the sweet scent of Willow filled her mind. Willow stirred and lifted her head from the pillow to find the deep blue eyes of her lover.

“I could get used to seeing those every morning” She thought out loud. Realizing what she had said and that it was probably too soon to be doing any of this, her eyes grew in horror. “I mean …I …didn’t mean…I mean you know I meant.” Willow struggled to move but was too tangled in the sheets she made a less than dignified fall off the bed hitting her tailbone on the floor. She lay on the floor and closed her eyes. . Tara had moved to peer over the edge of the bed and let her head rest and looking over at the redhead. It took everything she had to not to burst out laughing. When Willow’s eyes opened she said

“Morning beautiful.”

“Hi” Willow said from the floor thoroughly embarrassed. Tara glanced over at the clock, it read 9:00. She sighed.

“I have rehearsal in an hour.” She wanted nothing more than to stay in the huge bed with Willow all day.

“Ok well we should get up, do you want a shower? We never did get around to eating that Chinese, are you hungry? It’s probably … still sitting on the counter, um I can make something, pancakes I can make those.”

“That sounds good, I’ll go shower.”

Willow wasn’t sure what she was supposed to be doing, this was uncharted territory for her. She quickly threw away last nights dinner, and started making the batter. Tara appeared from around the corner of the kitchen just as Willow was serving up a plate.

“Hungry?” She asked.

“Famished, someone wore me out last night.” Tara said with a smile. Willow blushed.

“So I’ll give you a ride, um are you busy tonight?” Willow asked.

“Well I have rehearsal, then straight into auditions tonight. It will probably run pretty late.” Willow’s heart sank.

“Ok well then um, just call me or something later.” She looked up hopeful.

“You know I will.” Tara smiled, she felt bad that she couldn’t spend the day and night with Willow, but she had to get this stuff down.

Willow dropped Tara off and gave her an awkward kiss before speeding off.

***---***---***

As opening day was approaching Willow and Tara had little time to see each other. It seemed like they could never get their schedules to work out. The orchestra practiced endlessly to get the music right, they had yet to practice with the actors, but Tara didn’t want to be embarrassed at the first full rehearsal. Tara had spent a lot of time with Dawn, she kind of felt like a big sister to the younger girl. It helped to have someone to talk to, since she couldn’t get a certain redhead out of her mind.

“So I think we are doing pretty good.” Dawn said as she pulled Tara from her thoughts.

“Yeah I think Tuesday night will go well, if everyone can remember what Marin has taught them.” Tara still couldn’t believe she managed to snag Marin Benz as the conductor.

“I think we will do quite well. So how are things with you and Ms Rosenberg?”

“Um…I don’t know, I haven’t really seen her too much the past few weeks. We can’t seem to get our schedules to coincide.”

”Yeah it is already starting. Soon you will hardly see her, she will break off dates, it’s all part of the ‘Hollywood’ lifestyle. She can’t settle down with just one person.”

“Hey, look it’s not like that. Willow is not like that!” Tara almost screamed, although part of her wondered if she was. She actually knew very little about the redheaded actress.

“Hey, I just want you to be careful. I had a friend who dated one of the Hollywood types and let’s just say it didn’t turn out too pleasant. You are like a sister to me and it would kill me to see you get hurt.”

“Oh Dawnie you are like a sister to me too. Believe me I know enough to know when to get out. Plus it isn’t like I have been Miss available either, I mean we are at rehearsal almost constantly and when I am not doing that I am busy getting other aspects put together.”

***---***---***

Across town Willow sat with Buffy at a café. Willows mind kept wandering back to the blond that she had spent the most incredible night of her life with and now couldn’t even talk to her for more than 10 minutes.

“I should have gone to meet her for lunch.” Willow said absentmindedly. “I could have gone there had a quick lunch and have been back in time for rehearsal.”

“Wil you know that is a total lie.”

“I know, but it isn’t like I need to be rehearsing, I have this thing down. Honestly there really isn’t much too the play, not very deep. I give Oz kudos it is excellent for his first.”

“When are you going to see her again?”

“I don’t know we were going to try for tomorrow, but then Oz decided we all needed another rehearsal, when I will finally get out Tara is in rehearsal, then Monday rehearsal, rehearsal, rehearsal for both so I guess I will see her Tuesday at the full rehearsal.” Willow sank lower in her chair. “So are you getting any closer to catching him?” They had started referring to the child rapist Buffy was after as ‘him’.

“No, luckily he hasn’t struck since we started tailing him, but it’s just a matter of time.”

“I just had a great idea, why don’t you come and live with me. I mean not live, but stay since it looks like you might be here for a while, I have plenty of room. You can spread your stuff out everywhere and use the second study hell you can even have 4 of the rooms, it’s not like I use them anyway.”

“Really, I won’t get in the way?”

“Hell no, you could probably live there a whole month before I ever even saw you. Plus, with rehearsal I am not in much anyway, and if I do get a free moment I want to be spending it with Tara.”

“That would be great Wil, I am getting sick of the FBI’s sense of suitable accommodations.”

“Good it’s settled, here is a spare key, just bring your stuff over anytime, I probably won’t see you until Wednesday you know ‘rehearsal’” Willow said grimaced a little before she left her best friend and went back to the studio.

Great update-y goodness... Willow really needs to tell Tara about Buffy staying in her apartment so that Tara won't freak out when she goes there and sees another woman in there...

Chapter 7

Tuesday night came around and the hall was bustling with people all trying to get ready for a long night of practice. This was the first full rehearsal with the pit and the actors. Willow arrived early in hopes of seeing Tara. She walked to the practice room and saw Dawn.

“Hey Dawn, have you seen Tara?”

“Hi Willow, yeah she just stepped out to grab some dinner before we start. Knowing her she is at the Walgreen’s grabbing an energy drink and some Twinkies.” Willows face fell, she knew how stressed Tara had been, and their brief conversations on the phone had shown that in Tara’s tone. Willow hated to see her not taking care of the most important person in the world.

“Hey you.” Tara said as she came into the room holding a bag from Walgreen’s.

“Tara!” Willow literally exploded at the sight of her girlfriend. She ran and engulfed Tara and kissed her passionately letting her fingers run through the blond locks. Tara was a little taken back and could only return the kiss. She tried to move her arms to Willows back but her bags made in impossible. Dawn felt a little embarrassed and would have retreated if Willow and Tara hadn’t been blocking the only exit. She did the only thing she knew of and cleared her throat. Willow pulled back looking deeply into Tara’s eyes seeing how much she had missed her. “Sorry Dawn.” Willow said never taking her eyes off Tara. Willow laced her fingers with Tara’s and lead her to the stairs so they could sit. Dawn made a quick get away when the pair had moved from the door, although neither of them noticed. Both were too caught up in each other to realize what was going on around them. Tara was the first to move her gaze when her stomach growled, she reached down and extracted a sandwich from her bag and an energy drink.
“So did you notice that we have a solo?” Willow asked

“Um…isn’t that an oxymoron we have a solo?”

“Yeah I guess you have a solo and I have a … you know one of those things” Willow moved her hands in the air gesturing something. Tara knew what it was but raised an eyebrow like she didn’t. “You know.. a thing where I talk to the audience and tell them stuff, alone like a solo but not?”

“A soliloquy?”

“Yes that is it, so did you know?”

“Yes I did.”

“I don’t know if I can do it, I mean every time you play violin I…” Willow was interrupted by some orchestra members coming in.

“Oh my God Willow Rosenberg. Is it really you? I mean I knew you were in this, but I never thought I would actually get to see you up close.”

“Hi.” Willow said meekly.

“Willow this is Tommy, Frank and Susan.” Tara said seeing her girlfriend at a loss for words.

“So Tare how do you guys know each other?”

“Were friends!” Willow said a little to loud and a little to quick. The words hit Tara like a ton of bricks, she felt like something dropped in her stomach. . She looked up at Willow and saw Willows eyes pleading with her to understand. .

“Tare you don’t mind if we steal Willow for a minute do you.” Tara didn’t say anything her head hanging down looking at the floor. The 3 of them took Willow by the arm taking her out the door to introduce her to the rest of the woodwinds. Willow was introduced to so many people but nothing was registering in her brain, she was on auto-pilot much like she had done many times before, except this time all she could think about was the hurt look on Tara’s face when she had proclaimed all too loudly they were just friends. She felt like someone had hit her in the stomach, she felt weak and sick. .

Everything was going well in rehearsal. Faith was eyeing Tara all night. She hadn’t seen that look of sadness for a long time and she was pretty sure who was to blame. She kept an eye on Willow and Willow knew it. Every time she would try to catch a glimpse of Tara she would see Faith giving her an evil eye, she would quickly look away.

“Willow are you ready for your soliloquy?” Oz yelled in the megaphone.

“Yeah.” She said as she tried to shield her eyes from the bright lights to locate where Oz was.

“Tara you ready?” Tara nodded. “Ok lets start from…”

“Wait!” Willow shouted.

“What is it?” Oz said as everyone turned to look at Willow.

“Um…I need to um…say something first. To everyone if you could all listen.” Willow was suddenly nervous and heads poked out from around the curtain and from the catwalk.

“Um…I just need to say something to all of you, because we will be working together for a while and I’m just going to say it. Tara is my girlfriend.” She paused when no one said anything she went on. “We are dating, and no one knows that I am gay, but I am, and dating a girl. Tara is the girl. I already said that, anyway I would really appreciate it if you didn’t say anything to anyone, if not for my sake for Tara’s I don’t want her to have to go through the hell that paparazzi can inflict on someone. So I just thought you all should know.” Now that it was out Willow felt a little embarrassed for making such a big deal out of nothing. She looked down at Tara in the pit and saw unshed tears in her eyes and knew she had made the right decision.

“Ok so unless Ms Rosenberg has anything else she would like to enlighten us about, can we continue rehearsal?” Oz said trying not to make a big deal out of a huge movie star coming out of the closet at his playwright. “Ok so we start out from the beginning of Act III. Tara you start out bold then when Willow comes in, tone it down so we can hear her.” Tara removed her gaze from Willow to look at Marin and roll her eyes. She obviously knew what to do it was written right there on the paper.

Once Oz said action she started playing looking directly into Willow’s eyes. As Tara played she was lost in the pools of green that danced in front of her, luckily the piece wasn’t difficult it had taken Tara an afternoon to learn. The piece was supposed to reflect sadness, loss and pain of losing a loved one. The main character was supposed to talk and reflect on her past experiences with this loved one, pretty sappy stuff.

Willow watched Tara play and was again reminded of the two times Tara had played for her and the growing wetness that soon followed. Willow was right on cue and came in and spoke her soliloquy with such passion and feeling it was as if Willow was really going through the emotions that Cindy was going through. It was so believable, and she never took her eyes from Tara’s. The energy that flowed from the blond and the redhead was so strong no one moved while they both created a beautiful piece of art together. As the scene came to an end the light faded from Willow and the music slowly came to an end, no one spoke a word. The two women looked at each other with smoldering passion.

Oz was the first to say something. “Um…yeah lets take 10.”

He had no idea how he got so lucky to have these two artful genius’ in his play, but he thanked god that he did. As Willow and Tara both made their respective paths to the practice room they were bombarded with questions and praise for their amazing work, but neither heard any thing around them. They were both literally running toward each other and met in the hall in a passionate kiss.

“Tara…I’m so….sorry.” Willow said between kisses. Tara pulled away and looked deep into Willows soul it made Willow weak at the knees.

“Follow me.” She said as she grabbed Willows hand and dragged her through a door into a dark closet. Tara pulled a string and a small light flickered on above them. Again their lips meet as they tore at each others clothes. Their arousal heightened by days spent apart, clothes came off, hands were everywhere, tongues dueled in each others mouths. Each unbuttoned the others pants and removed them. Willow’s mouth latched onto Tara’s breasts and sucked hard knowing she would be leaving a mark. Tara groaned as a new set of juices streamed down her leg. Willow reached her hand down sliding one finger between Tara’s folds. She rubbed Tara’s already engorged clit as she assaulted Tara’s breasts. Tara was close and she needed release. She could feel her orgasm building inside her, but she wanted them to come together.

“Willow?” Tara barely whispered finding her throat dry.

“Yeah baby?” Willow said as she brought her head up and proceeded to lick and suck along Tara’s neck. “I want…” Tara tried to get out but Willows expert hands were making it difficult. Tara brought her hand down to Willows mound and began to caress between her folds. “Oh Tara..” Willow shuddered at the contact.

“I want you to come with me. Please.”

“Oh God Tara yes.” At that moment each woman entered the other, filling the void they had felt while apart. Both began to pump rhythmically up and down going at the exact same pace. As the speed got faster Willow knew both were about ready.

“Tara look at me. I want to see you.”

Tara forced her eyes open to look into Willows. Each of them lost in sensation and primal need. Tara felt the walls inside her tighten around Willows fingers as she felt the orgasm rip through her body as she called out her lovers name seconds later she felt Willow come to the heights of ecstasy. Both women fell to the ground no longer able to support their own weight. Both dressed silently still recovering from their animalistic passion. They heard Oz call for everyone through the closet door.

“Tara I want to apologize I ..” She was stopped by Tara’s fingers on her mouth.

“It’s ok.” Tara looked deep into Willows emerald eyes, and Willow knew she was forgiven, and she would do everything in world to make it up to her. “We better go.” Tara said as she led Willow out of the closet.

Luckily no one noticed as they left the closet and walked back to the stage. As they rounded the corner Faith saw them, she was still upset at Willow for hurting Tara. Willow saw a flash of black and found herself backed up against the wall with a fuming Faith in front of her. “Faith!” She heard Tara scream.

“I told you Red, I told you what I would do to you if you hurt Tara.”

“I’m sorry…I am so sorry. I…I didn’t mean too. It just happened and you have no idea how much it hurt me to see her like that.” Willow looked at Tara.

“Faith don’t.” Tara pleaded.

“No Tara! I am not going to let this happen again.” Willow could see Faith’s eyes well up with tears before they returned as cold as they had been before.

As Buffy rounded the corner she saw her best friend pressed up against the wall with a petite dark haired thing pressing her back by the shoulders. Buffy sprang into action, she ran towards them and quickly had Faith pressed up against the wall face first and her hands tightly around her back. Faith didn’t know what happened. One minute she was grilling the redhead and now her face was being pushed up against the wall with her hands held tight by someone with incredible strength.

“Buffy oh my god, no.” Willow yelled when she realized what happened.

“Wil what the fuck is going on?”

“Buff it’s ok, this is Tara’s friend. Oh and this is Tara. Buffy Tara, Tara Buffy.” As Willow introduced them they each looked at each other and back at Willow confused as to why she was introducing them while Buffy was assaulting Faith.

“Yeah and I’m Faith and your breaking my arm.”

“Oh sorry.” Buffy said as she let go.

“So Red you have your own little body guard, charming.” She said as she sized up the petite blond. Buffy glared at Faith.

“Ok so there has been some huge misunderstanding.” Tara said. “Willow and I are good.” She said as she interlaced her fingers with Willows. Willow felt electricity flow through her hand as she looked down at their hands, they seemed to fit so perfectly together. “Buffy it’s nice to meet you.” Tara let her hand fall from Willow’s as she reached out to take Buffy’s.

“Yeah you too.” Buffy was still a little stunned and confused by what was going on.
Oz rounded the corner with his megaphone in hand.

“You guys, oh my god there you are. How am I supposed to run rehearsal when our star and the two best hands in the pit are out here chatting.” All three looked at the ground trying to hide their smiles, it was just to funny to see Oz mad, he looked like a little red elf. “You guys I am serious. No one is going to take this seriously if you don’t.”

“We’re sorry Oz really, it won’t happen again.”

“Thanks, well I sent everyone home, it’s enough for one night. We’ll reconvene on Thursday.” He said as he turned around to leave.

“So Wil, I have all my stuff in the truck outside.” Willow just looked at Buffy. “And we are having a moving in party.”

“Buffy I told you to hire someone, I would pay for it.”

“Oh come on, it isn’t that much and it will give us some quality time together.” Buffy hooked her arm in Willows and started dragging her away. Willow glanced back at Tara who made a motion she would call her. When they got outside Willow saw Buffy’s truck almost exploding with boxes.

“I thought you said it wasn’t that much.” Willow said raising an eyebrow at Buffy.

Once they had moved the last box Willow flopped down on the couch. It was around midnight. “Buff we totally should have hired someone.”

“Oh come on you baby. It wasn’t that bad.” Willow just glared at Buffy until her phone went off. Willow jumped up and grabbed it.

“Hello?”

“Hi Willow, is it too late?”

“No, just hold on.” Willow looked up at Buffy while she covered the phone with her hand.

“Get out.”

“What who is it?”

“Tara. Now get out.”

“No, I think I’ll stay.” Willow glared at Buffy.

“Buffy I have this huge apartment, now go … use it.” Buffy smiled and sauntered off down the corridor. Tara smiled as she heard the exchange. “Tara you still there?”

“Yeah. So Buffy’s living with you?”

“Yeah, but only in a friendly friend type manner. I figured I had this huge place, and it looks like Buffy will be here for a while, and it is so much better than having to stay at a hotel, then we get friend time too.” Tara laughed. “Tara, I am so sorry about today.”

“Willow don’t..”

“No please let me apologize. It just came out, and I was scared. I don’t know of what, but it was scary. But the look on your face, oh god Tara I never want to hurt you like that again. I was so afraid that I had lost you and that was like a million times more scary than anything I have ever imagined.”

“Willow, you are forgiven. I mean you came out for me.”

“Yeah I guess I did.” Willow let out a short laugh “Oh god I did. That’s going to be all over the tabloids tomorrow.”

“You really think…Oh hold on my other line.”

Willow looked out her window at the lights of the city. It really was beautiful and yet she hated it. She looked around her apartment, it was beautiful, very clean and exquisite, but not lived in. She had lived there for years and yet she just felt like an inhabitant, it wasn’t a home. She was brought back from her thoughts by Tara’s beautiful voice, but it sounded different, scared.

“Tara, what’s wrong?”

“Um…Nothing, I just need to take this call.”

“Ok well I’ll…” Willow noticed that Tara had already ended the call “talk to you later.” She said under her breath. Willow knew something was up, Tara’s voice sounded so weird. Without a second thought she grabbed her coat and headed down to her car.

Great update-y goodness... I hope that Willow's coming out doesn't come back to bite Willow & Tara in the ass... I do hope that Tara's phone call is something that W/T could solve together without too much trouble...

Chapter 8

Willow stood out side Tara’s house and rang the bell. It was just after 1am but Willow knew Tara was up all the lights in the house were on. Tara opened the door and Willow saw the red and puffiness in her eyes. Tara looked in shock at Willow but then began to chuckle. Willow was still scared and a little taken back at why Tara was laughing.

“Tara what?” Tara motioned down with her eyes at Willows arms. She held a cake, bread and flowers.

“Oh yeah I thought I should bring something, I was thinking maybe you were hungry so I brought bread, I like bread. Then I was thinking desert because when I am sad or something I like something sweet. And the flowers cuz you’re my girl.”

“Willow, that’s sweet but you didn’t have to come all the way over here.”

“Please tell me what’s wrong.”

“Come on in.” Tara backed away to allow Willow to enter. Tara took the flowers as Willow set her things in the kitchen. “That was Donny on the other line.”

“Your brother?”

“Yeah.” Tara started taking the flowers out of their wrapping and began to cut off the ends. “Casey has been kidnapped.” She set down the scissors and just looked at the flowers on the counter, her eyes welling up with tears. She felt Willow’s arms wrap around her waist and her head on Tara’s back. Tara broke down, her shoulders heaving with each sob. She turned around unable to support herself anymore and fell against Willow. Willow grabbed Tara in her arms and lifted her up and carried her down the hall. She found the bedroom with relative ease and gently laid Tara on the bed. The blond beauty still sobbing. Willow wanted to say something, but knew nothing she said could make it better so she just held Tara. Tara’s tears soaked through Willow shirt, as Willow sat there stroking the blonds silky strands. Soon she heard Tara’s breath become shallow and knew she was sleeping. She gently removed herself from the blonds grasp, and went into Tara’s office to work on the computer. Tara woke up to find herself sleeping alone, she felt so alone for the first time in her life. She sighed, there was so much she had to do, and feeling sorry for herself wasn’t going to help. Willow heard Tara sigh from the other room and quickly made her way back.

“Baby?”

“Willow!” Tara nearly fell off the bed being startled by Willows voice.

“Sorry I didn’t mean to scare you, are you ok?”

“Yeah I just thought you had left.” Willow made her way to the side of the bed and Tara wrapped her arms around the petite waist. Willow ran her fingers through Taras hair, the blond let out a sigh. It felt so good to be holding Willow, she was so relieved that she was still here, it was as if half of her was missing when she wasn’t with the redhead.
Tara sighed again.

“I would love to stay here all day, but I have so much to do. I need to get a flight and rent a car …”

Willow took Tara’s face in her hands. “Sweetie, I took care of it, you have a flight out at 4:00 and you can pick up a car at the airport. I got one with a GPS in it, because I didn’t know if you knew your way around Washington, it’s even one that talks to you so you can just ask it questions and it will tell you so then you don’t have to be searching around in a map while driving. And the flight I couldn’t get one for any sooner, it was the only non-stop flight, I didn’t think you wanted to stop anywhere. Oh I called Dawn and she is going to look after things for the play. If you want something else we can change it, I just thought…”

Tara’s heart swelled at the thoughtfulness of the redhead, she felt her eyes tearing up.
“Willow, that was so sweet. Let me write you a check.”

“No.” Willow wanted to pay, but knew the blond would never let her. “You can pay me later, right now you need to pack and probably call Donnie. We need to leave in a few hours for the airport. Tara nodded, she was physically and emotionally exhausted and it was nice to have someone to take care of the little things. Tara couldn’t believe Willow was doing all this for her. She looked down at the suitcase she was packing, she could hear Willow in the kitchen opening and closing cabinet doors. It felt nice, it felt like home, their home. Tara had always loved her house, but sometimes it felt so empty. Willow poked her head in and saw Tara standing with a shirt in her hand looking at the suitcase. It broke her heart to see her like that, so emotionally drained.

“Hey” Willow said quietly.

“Hi” Tara gave a smile.

“I made some lunch. Soup and grilled cheese. I know your not sick, but I thought comfort food, and you really should eat something.” Tara sat down in the kitchen and tried to eat. They both sat there in silence not knowing what to say, but both comfortable with the silence. The silence was broken by the phone. Tara quickly got up and answered.

“Hi Donnie.” She said as she looked at Willow. Willow decided to give Tara some privacy so she went out back and called Buffy.

“Hi Buf.”

“Willow I have been trying to call you since you left, where are you.”

“I’m at Tara’s. I had my phone off, why were you calling.”

“Let’s just say your coming out isn’t such a secret anymore.”

“Oh.”

“Wil, what’s going on?”

“Tara’s niece was kidnapped yesterday.” Willow told Buffy the whole story, or as much as she knew.

“Hold on Wil.” She could hear Buffy frantically typing on her laptop. “Oh my God I can’t believe anyone called me; I am supposed to be notified of any new kidnappings.”

“Do you think it’s your guy?”

“I don’t know, it doesn’t seem likely, we thought he was somewhere here, but this matches his M.O. I gotta go make some heads roll Wil, how is Tara doing.”

“Pretty bad, but she is hold up.”

“I’ll call you later.”

Willow walked back in to find Tara packing.

“Well, I think I got everything.”

“Are you sure, you have pajamas, shampoo and everything?”

“Willow come here.” Tara patted the bed next to her. Willow obeyed. She sat and Tara ran her hand across Willows cheek. Willow leaned into the touch. “You have been so great, what am I going to do with out you.”

“Oh I think you can manage, you have for 27 years.” Willow tried to lighten the mood. It hadn’t sunk in that her goddess was going to leave her, with everything going so fast she didn’t have time to feel. “Oh God Tara you really are going, I mean I know your going, but I guess I just realized I am not going to be able to see your beautiful face.”

Tara smiled and pulled Willow in for a passionate kiss. It quickly turned into a make out session, both needing to hold on to each other before they had to let go.

“We really …oh God … Need to go” Willow said as Tara kissed up and down her neck.

“I know.” Both girls pulled back hearts pounding and faces flushed. They got up and Willow put the suitcase in the car and made sure she had everything in order.

“Ready?”

“I guess.” Tara sighed and got in the car. The ride to the airport was relatively silent, Willow held Tara’s hand the whole time, needing to feel the girl next to her. Willow parked and opened up the glove box and pulled out a floppy hat and big sunglasses. Willow looked at Tara.

“Sorry it’s just…” Tara stopped Willow by placing her lips on the redheads. She looked into the emerald gems and saw love, concern and a little arousal. She smiled at the redhead and stepped out of the car. Willow sat there still stunned by the kiss that held so much more. . Willow put on her hat and sunglasses and stepped out of the car and grabbed Tara’s bag. Once Tara was checked in they stood in front of the security check point.

“This is my exit.” Tara said turning back to Willow.

“Oh I almost forgot, here.” Willow shoved a backpack at Tara. “I just put some stuff in there for the airplane.”

“That is so sweet.” Tara leaned in and placed a chaste kiss on Willow’s lips. When Tara started to pull away, she felt a hand on the back of her head pushing her back into the redhead. Willow ran her tongue along Tara’s bottom lip and she opened her mouth to allow Willow to explore. She pulled back and looked at Willow.

“I need to see your eyes Willow…please.” Willow removed her sunglasses and Tara saw unshed tears in her eyes. “Oh baby, don’t cry.”

At Tara’s words Willow let the tears fall from her eyes. Tara reached up and wiped them away with her hand. Oblivious to the commotion that was going on around them they only saw each other. Each looking into the others eyes as if nothing else in the world existed.

“I have to go.” Tara said. They rested their foreheads together.

“I know.”

“I’ll call you when I land ok?”

Willow just nodded afraid to speak; afraid she might break down right there. Tara looked deep into Willows eyes and no words were needed. Tara turned to leave and walked toward the checkpoint. She watched as the blond went through the metal detector and gathered her things. Tara could feel Willows eyes on her. Before she went down the escalators she turned back to look at Willow who was now standing at the side close to her, separated by a rope. Tara gave Willow a smile and stepped onto the escalator. She turned around when she heard her name.

“Tara.” A few of the security guards looked up at Willow, but most didn’t care. “I love you.”

Willow couldn’t see Tara’s face as she descended down the escalator, she hoped it was a smile. She didn’t know what made her say it, maybe it was because Tara was already leaving so if she scared her off it should be now or never. She just had to tell Tara, she might not ever see her again but she stepped up for the first time in her life. She quickly put on her sunglasses and turned around only to be assaulted by cameras, she tried to shield herself and ran toward her car.

Tara couldn’t believe what she had heard. Tara had a goofy grin on her face as she boarded the plane, she was on auto pilot walking on a cloud. She didn’t even realize Willow had gotten her a seat in first class until the flight attendant showed her to her seat. She sat down and looked out the window, she looked up again when another woman sat next to her. She smiled lightly at the woman and resumed looking out the window.

After the plane was in flight she noticed the backpack Willow had packed for her. She reached down and opened it and found a sandwich, water, iPod, magazines and some skittles. The woman next to her had also pulled out a magazine.

“Have you heard about Willow Rosenberg?”

“What?” Tara was stunned to hear her lovers name come out of a complete stranger.

“She’s gay. Look.” The lady handed Tara the magazine with Willow’s picture plastered on front page. It was obviously taken at her last movie premier. “She’s pretty hot don’t ya think?”

“Um yeah I guess.” Tara was still stunned, she knew of Willow’s fame, but this was the first time she actually realized what Willow had done, and for her. Her heart swelled Willow was so sweet, she wondered if Willow knew about the tabloid. .

“Oh not into that I guess, let me tell you I would let her in my bed anytime. She wouldn’t even have to ask.” Tara felt weird and oddly aroused knowing that this woman would never have her Willow. Tara got a far off look on her face and she picked up the iPod Willow had packed and started listening.

The woman took the hint and went back to reading her magazine. Tara listened to the soft music and felt tired, she leaned her head against the window and closed her eyes. She was almost asleep when she heard Willows voice, at first she thought she was dreaming but then she looked down at the display on the iPod it read, a message for my baby.

“Hi Tara, it’s Willow, of course. I hope you are enjoying the songs I have picked for you. I thought you might need something relaxing. These are some of my favorites. Although no one plays the violin like you do.” “you are sleeping now, you look so peaceful. I wish all of this sadness hadn’t happened, I want to see your beautiful smile again. I packed a sandwich for you, I know you probably won’t eat it, but you should because being all sick and tired won’t help Donnie. You are the strongest person I know, and I know you can get through this. Anyway I just wanted to say hi and call me as soon as you can. I will be missing you.”

Tara smiled and leaned back into the window.

Chapter 9
As Tara pulled up to Donnies house she saw Carrie run out to the car. Tara swung the door open as the girl gave her a big hug. “Aunt Tara!”

“Hi Sweetie.”

“Casey is gone.”

“I know, we’ll get her back.”

“Mom’s gone too?”

“Where did she go?”

“The store.” The girl was no longer fascinated with her aunt and went over to the tire swing that hung off the tree. Tara saw Donnie standing at the front door as she walked up the walkway.

“Hey little sis.” Donnie gave Tara a big hug.

“How are you doing?” Tara said still in the embrace.

“I’m holding up.” He said as he released his hold on Tara. “I have to for Carrie.” He looked over toward the little girl on the swing.

“Where’s Marie, Carrie said she went to the store?”

“She left.”

“What?”

“I was down at the police station answering more questions, when I got home Carrie was alone and she said mom went to the store. I found a note in the bedroom. She said she couldn’t take it anymore; she wasn’t cut out to be a mom. I know this wasn’t the life she planned but I thought she was happy.”

“Maybe she will come back, you know I can’t imagine having a child kidnapped, it was probably too overwhelming for her.”

“I don’t think so. Things have been…difficult for some time now. I know she didn’t expect to get pregnant, with twins no less. I thought that she was ok, I thought things were good.”

“Oh Donnie.” Tara pulled her brother into a hug. “How bout you bring my stuff in and I’ll go make some dinner.”

After dinner the siblings put Carrie down to bed and sat outside on the deck talking. Tara’s cell phone rang, she looked down and saw it was Willow .

“Sorry I have to take this.” She looked at Donnie who just nodded.

“Hello.”

“Tara thank God.”

“Willow what?”

“Well when you didn’t call I started freaking myself out. I looked online and saw your plane had landed and so I knew you were there, but then that didn’t mean something happened on the way there, or even at the airport, you could have gotten sucked in by those weird baggage thingies. Those are pretty scary I mean metal plates all moving and taking you into that black hole.” Willow stopped to take a breath.

“Willow, I am so sorry I didn’t call you. We have just been catching up, you know how it is with family.”

“Well no not really, but I can imagine. I think I played that part once” Willow said to lighten her fears that something tragic had happened to Tara. This caused Tara to frown, it was upsetting that Willow didn’t have any relationship with her family.

“Well I should let you go, I just wanted to make sure you were ok.” .

“Can I call you later, I want to talk, but if it’s too late I can call tomorrow.”

“No call whenever I will be up. Bye Tara.”

“Willow?”

“Yeah?”

“I love you too.” Tara said before she hung up.

Willow sat on Tara’s bed grinning like a Cheshire cat. Willow leaned back down on the bed and smelled the pillow.

“Who was that?” Donnie asked

“Willow.”

“Yeah I got that part, girlfriend?”

“Yeah.” Tara got a far off look in her eyes and smiled.

“So you love her then?” Donnie was glad to steer the conversation off of himself.

“I do. I mean that was actually the first time I told her, but I think I have known for a while. She told me at the airport. She is so sweet Donnie you really need to meet her.”

“She would have to be to have you smitten like a school girl. So where’d ya two meet?”

“Oh we are doing a play together, me in the pit and she is playing lead.”

“Ahh actress, what did you say her name was?”

“Willow Rosenberg.” Donnie spit out the beer he was drinking. He started laughing.

“Good one sis, no seriously. I know I am not a big play um…watcher, but Marie and I did go to a few maybe she was in them.”

“No I’m serious.

“You are Fucking kidding me?”

“No, have you seen her movies?”

“Who hasn’t.”

“Apparently only me.”

“You are seriously dating Willow Rosenberg? Come on shy old Tara dating big Hollywood star?”

“It’s true, I can call her back if you want.”

“Yeah you do that.” Donnie leaned back and took a swig of his beer. Tara pulled out her phone and started dialing.

“Why would I lie about something like this? It is just silly, she is going to think you are such a freak.” Donnie just leaned back and smiled smugly, there was absolutely no way.

“Hi Willow.”

“Hey that was quick.”

“I was actually wondering if you could settle an argument between my brother and I.”

“Is everything alright?”

“Yes just a friendly discussion. But one only you can settle.”

“Ok I’ll try.” Tara handed the phone to Donnie.

“Hello is this Willow?”

“Yes.”

“Willow Rosenberg?”

“Yes.”

“and you are dating my sister?”

“Yeah.”

“There’s just no way, this has to be Faith.”

“um no it’s really me.”

“Prove it.”

“Um I really don’t know how to do that.”

“Well then I just have to keep thinking you are Faith and Tara is lying.”

“Ok I have an idea, do you have a web cam?”

“Yeah I got it for the kids.”

“Ok let’s go do some video conferencing.”

Donnie got up with out saying a word to Tara and took her phone in the house, Tara curiously followed. Donnie set up the web cam and logged in.

“Can you see me.” A voice came from the computer Tara knew instantly it was Willow. Then she saw her girlfriends beautiful face.

“Oh my god it is you.”

“Told ya! Hi Baby can you see me?”

“Yeah I can, Willow this is so cool.”

“I didn’t even know you were gay.”

“Well neither did the rest of the world until today.”

“So why date my sister, I mean there are probably a ton of hot girls out there for the picking and you choose shy country girl Tara?”

“Look at her she is like a Greek goddess.” Tara blushed and looked at the floor. “She is the most amazing woman I have ever met.” Willow desperately wanted to be alone with Tara. “And she gives me the most mind shattering orgasms.”

“Ok that’s my cue to go.” Donnie stood up and left the room. He was truly happy for the two of them. So much sadness had come befallen the family it was nice to be able to smile. Tara sat down in front of the computer.

“I can’t believe you said that.”

“Well I didn’t see you trying to get rid of him, he seems nice though.”

“Yeah he is, just trying to be all macho big brother ya know.”

“How is he doing, and Carrie too.” Tara was surprised that Willow remembered her nieces name, she didn’t remember telling her except the one time.

“They are ok. Marie left Donnie, just packed up this morning and took off. I never liked her anyway. She never wanted a family it just happened. I guess she tried, but it was too overwhelming for her. I just could never pick up and leave my family like that.” Willow thought back to her own family and how she had done just that. “Carrie is ok, I don’t think she understands what is going on. She thinks her mom is at the store. Donnie and I have to have a talk with her tomorrow. Willow are you at my house?”

“um…yeah.”

“I didn’t even know I had a web cam.”

“Yeah it came with your computer, but you didn’t have it installed.”

“Why are you there?”

“Well after the airport I ran into a bunch of photographers, really literally ran into. I ran out of there and didn’t want to go back home. I thought they might know where I live and so I just drove here. If it isn’t ok I can leave, it just kind of feels like home.”

“Willow it’s ok, I know what you mean I love that house. It just has this feeling about it.”

“Oh I forgot to tell you I talked with Buffy about Casey, she’s FBI, did I tell you that already, anyway she thinks it might have something to do with the guy she is looking for. She was so pissed at the local cops for not reporting it to her. Anyway she is on it and she is really good at her job. I hope you don’t mind?”

“No its ok, I don’t mind it is sweet, and I forgot to thank you for everything you have done, the food, the iPod. You didn’t have to get first class though.”

“I know, but I didn’t think you wanted to be bothered with hassle of coach.” Tara remembered the woman on the plane and smiled.

“What, why are you smiling?”

“Oh this lady on the plane had the magazine, you know…the one.”

“Yeah sorry for not telling you, I just didn’t want to upset you.”

“Yeah someone wanted to get into your pants.”

“Really? What did you say her number was?”

“Willow!” Tara said in mock rage. Although she was getting a little on edge about dating a movie star. To her it was just Willow, but seeing the lady on the plane and now her brother, she was beginning to realize there was a lot she didn’t know about Willow.
Tara yawned.

“Hey I’ll let you go, try and get some rest ok?”

“Ok.”

“Bye Tara.”

“Bye Willow.” Tara briefly wondered if they were moving too fast. She knew how she felt about Willow, she hadn’t felt that with anyone, it was like her whole soul belonged to Willow. She thought about Julie and how she had changed into a different person so quickly. She shook the thoughts from her head before she turned off the computer and went to bed.
