Hi! My name is Jen.

I generally lurk in the shadows on Pens, but was moved to post while reading The (bloody brilliant) Rosenberg Files by dlline and now I come out of the woodwork whenever I feel I have something somewhat thoughtful to add. I am 32, from Alberta, Canada and have been teaching Kindergarteners in South Korea for the past five years.

Thank you to everyone for creating such a wonderful community here and celebrating the genius of BtVS.

hello all,

well, i had been lurking on this board way back in '02 or '03 i think, and then finally de-lurked and chatted, and posted some stories etc.

however, real life, including a tremendous break-up, move to the big city, proper life as a researcher and so on, interupted.

but i've recently begun preparing to move (again!) and found my old computer and copies of the stories i was following and the people i had chatted to etc. and decided to come back and re-introduce myself now as an older and slightly less daft kitten. was hoping to join in the chat one night, but can't seem to find it, so any suggestions would be appreciated.

also, i don't mean to sound big-headed, but i had two stories on the go:
'into the stars'
and
'the dark matter'
which i completely failed to update. and i've totally lost, and would like to have a look at again seeing as i've done no writing except of the scientific kind since.
so, er, if anyone still has a link to their location, if they're still up ( i can totally understand if not) then please could you message me as i don't really have any other copies!

Hi kittens,

I'm new to the board as a member and author, though I've been reading the wonderful stories here for a year or more. I have to admit. I'm a very late bloomer. Only got aquainted with BTVS about a year ago when I discovered I could download Season 1 episodes off iTunes. I immediately got hooked and rented/bought the whole series, binging late into the wee hours. Many, many bleary-eyed days at work followed. I don't know what I was doing all those years I wasn't watching Buffy. I guess the time for me had just come.

I love writing. Have done a ton of it. Have been a fan of other shows. I've just never finished a fanfic. Until now. Yay! So I've started posting it to Different Colored Pens. Hope that I can return the wonderful favor of sharing stories with people whose stories I've so enjoyed these many months.

Hi all, I'm jem, a total virgin newbie (big & hairy) kitten with no experience of lurking or anything.
I'm very sad and cross because I've only just found you and can't help feeling I've missed out on SO much since you all started here.
I guess I'm just late for everything - I basically missed out on the Buffy phenomenon first time around cos I used to work nights when it was on telly. So, it's only in the last few years since it all finished that Buffy has taken over my life. My first main obsession was Alyson and it's only in the last couple of years that I have come to appreciate how much I adore Amber too.
It was actually Amber herself who brought me here because she came to my home town to do a Forbidden Planet signing last week and I stumbled blindly into the Wardrobe while doing a quick bit of research before going along.
Meeting her was one of the best experiences of my (sad and pathetic) life. She was so warm and friendly and I was staggered by how gorgeous she was in the flesh. She signed all my stuff (books, comics etc), posed for a couple of piccies (standing on tip-toes cos I'm a bit of a skyscraper!) and even gave me a peck on the furry cheek. *sighs*
I get really nervous when I meet my Buffy idols, but there were some really nice people in the queue and it reminded me how great you guys are who share the Buffyverse love.
So that's why I've come back here and hope to make as many new friends who share my passion as possible. I've got a lot of lost time to make up for!
By the way, I'm listening to Amber singing Toucha Me from Rocky Horror as I write this. teehee

Hello kittens!

It's hard to imagine what my life was like only five months ago when Buffy wasn't in it. I was visiting my sister-in-law in May and she was avidly watching an episode with her kids, which she quickly restarted for me. It was 'Hush', the first Buffy episode I ever saw and it blew me away. I asked for another one, so she showed me 'Once More, With Feeling', and I knew I had stumbled onto something I needed more than oxygen.

Being an incredibly new fan, I sometimes wish I had enjoyed Buffy as it was first airing. Though it must have been awful to wait every week for the new developments (taking me only the time to switch dvd's), it would have been so exciting as well. The speculation about Willow and Tara in Hush, the freaking out of Dawn suddenly appearing, the jaw-dropping amazement as song and dance ruled Sunnydale - I'm sorry I missed it.

I'm a happily married woman, but there is nothing but love in Willow and Tara. Their relationship struck me as being genuine and pure beyond anything television had yet to produce. I greedily watched every encounter. And after I bought all the seasons and watched them all (almost twice, going on seven five again right now), my obsession with Willow and Tara has finally spilled onto my keyboard.

I'm probably babbling, but I'm really glad I found you guys. I'm going to post a fanfic on Pens, and I hope to get some readers. I'm a little nervous, being so new and all, so please gently welcome the new kitten.

Hey Pheonix, just wanted to say I can relate to everything that you said here.
As a fellow newbie, it's amazing to think how much Willow and Tara have changed my life in just a couple of years. My only problem is that my family and friends just don't get it. I can see their eyes glazing over when I start to babble on, so finding the Kittens at least gives me a place to share the love!
I, too, wish I had experienced Buffy the first time around but I'm just grateful I got there in the end.
Looking forward to checking out your fanfic...

well lookey here, i have somehow missed this thread after a year and a half of quiet stalkage.

anywho, i've been a ghostly lurker on here for a while and have recently joined the DCP action. i'm a big fan of just about everything written on here and i love seeing new stories.

Hello all! Well it looks like I've missed a lot!!!!!!!!!!
Well I love this board!!!!!!!!! Can't believe it took me this long to find it... Well, better late than never. I LOVE reading fanfics about my 2 fav gals, thinking about writing one too!!!!

Anywho I'm Rachel, I'm 20 and I live in the UK. I'm a HUGE W/T fan, have been now since I started watching Buffy at the begining of season 6 (yes I was a late starter, lol). Since the 1st ever eppy where I saw Tara she was and always will be my fav charactor!!!!!!
I can relate to her in most ways, I'm Wiccan, shy, I stuter, weird ass family, lol. Not sure about the Gay thing yet... Still a bit confused about that

And it's a very big possibility that I'll be asking for help throughout this board, unlike Willow I suck at these pc thingies, lol. What's DCP????

I'm Alexa. I actually discovered The Kitten Board a few years ago, lurked for a while and then moved on to other sites. But it was through the Kitten Board that I first discovered fanfiction, and I have a sentimental fondness for the Kitten Board for introducing me to fandom.
