This is gonna be the best Thursday ever. Going to game night with my girlfiend and friends, then we're going to see the midnight showing of pirates after that. It's gonna be great. :pinky

Happy Thursday to you, too!

Having had Monday off, Thursday came real quick this week! It's great! Seems I was just sitting around in front of my bar-b-que, and now I'm about to again. Although ... the weather is looking like it might not cooperate. Stupid weather.

I shouldn't say that, though, because we haven't any rain lately and the farmers around here are starting to grumble. Some rain would do us good.

Forgive the double-post, but it's a new Thursday! And Payday, to boot!
Gotta love it!

Was it just me, or did this week go by unusually fast? Monday wasn't a holiday, was it? I can't explain it.

i'm working tomorrow, so this thursday is not as exciting as it usually is but i refuse to turn my back on it. last thursday was fairly awesome as i was on vacation but today has been pure torture. next thursday i'll be on a plane half the day coming back from MA so it might be a couple of weeks before thursday's awesomeness reasserts itself. in the meantime, i'll live vicariously through gorn :wink

Hah! Hah! I caught it! I caught the wiley Thursday.... muwhahahaha....

Now I just need to strap it to the railroad tracks and hope that pesky Mighty Mouse doesn't show to foil my plans....

But seriously... well, kinda seriously: had a funny day. The past two days have been incredibly windy here, and this afternoon major storms moved in. I went from planting in the field to throwing myself into my truck with my dog to avoid the rain.

The next thing I know my landlords little dogs, who apparently got outside, come tearing down the driveway and demand to be let into my truck. Keep in mind that one of these dogs (Bessie) normally thinks I'm Satan incarnate, but apparently any port will do in a storm (literally). So they crowd in and me and three soggy dogs sit in the truck for a bit. Bessie won't look at me or let me touch her, but she insists on sitting in the exact middle of the seats and glares whenever one of us crowds her. To clarify, I have small Ranger pickup, with no crew cab - so all four of us were crowded into the front seats.

Then I decide to drive up to the house and drop off the soggy dogs, but it turns out that my truck is stuck in the mud. Sigh. So we sat a bit longer until my landlord showed up, retrieved his dogs, and gave me enough space to get the truck unstuck.

At anyrate - that's been my Thursday to date.

I have to work tomorrow, so I can't go to a party tonight at a friend's I haven't seen since Christmas... But I baked cookies! Thursday cookies. Very delicious. And a friend is coming over to help me eat them and listen to me complain about work, so it's turning out to be a good Thursday.

Blink. Blink. I made it. How sad is it that staying up past midnight is difficult for me?

But I'm here, it's Thursday, and I'm staking claim to a post in this thread.

Now I really, really need to go to bed.

Hey. That rhymed.

Wow. I'm sleepy.

congrats on your amazing posting self-restraint gorn, and achieving sassy eggs status. i remember my time at that level quite fondly.

it's thursday and i've been up since about 430 EST. i'm sitting in the vegas airport trying to keep my tiny bit of cash in my pocket and not down a slot machine. thankfully the free wifi in the airport and the oprah winfrey show on the tv are keeping me in my seat.

my last few thursdays have kind of blown. here's hoping next week rocks hard.

in the meantime, good or bad, it's just thursday, mkf!!

How can you have a bad Thursday in Vegas (baby!), ktv?

Though my Thursday would've been quite a bit better if I'd been in Vegas, too, I still had a pretty good one. Lots of good stuff happening at work just now. Also got a little "It's Just Afterwork Nookie On A Thursday, MKF!," which is always nice.

The big thing, of course, was becoming Sassy Eggs! It's a bit bittersweet leaving Willowhand behind me, though. I remember while I was waiting to get my Willowhand post on a Thursday some time ago, Heather went and updated Neverland like a crack of thunder out of the blue. Drove me NUTS not being able to reply right away! Wasn't quite so lucky this Thursday, MKF, but they can't all be gems like that.

So, with Willowhand fading away behind me, and about 15 min. left to go this Thursday, I'm looking forward to my future Eggs with as much Sassy-ness as I can muster.

This week has felt like one big loooong Monday, but now it's Thursday, MKF! We made it!

In comparison, though, this probably isn't going to be my best Thursday. I'm feeling a bit under the weather, no energy at all, and Mrs. Gorn is going to English classes tonight and won't be back till around 9pm. That means no linguini & clams, and most likely no "It's Just Thursday Nookie, MKF!" ... Ah, well. At least it's Friday tomorrow. Tonight is a good night to curl up with a decent book and a shot of Nyquil.

mmm nyquil! cheers, gorn!

my thursday is rocking thus far. i was awoken at the buttcrack of dawn by someone from a contract attorney firm (legal temping) in atlanta that wanted to set up a telephone interview with me for monday (unlike the dc firm that was making me come in next month to interview in person). while i'd rather live in dc than atlanta, i can get started (and out of california) much sooner if i let the atlanta firm place me, so that's pretty awesome.

shortly after i got off the phone with them one of my best friends from law school who now lives in the ATL called to tell me that a firm he's done consulting work with wants me to do some ERISA-related legal news stories for them every month.

the purpose of taking on the temporary contract work is so that i can save up a chunk of change in the next six months to open an office with a friend of mine in northampton, mass. i've dreamt about being part of the hottest little lesbo law firm in town and now the dream is becoming a reality! and we'll get to sponsor our own softball team. lol

plus, atlanta is just a short flight from my favorite little 21-year-old in blacksburg, va (yes, she goes to tech).

yay MFK, thursday is kicking ass!

Yes! A drink! Specifically, a gin and tonic with a healthy dollop of lemon sorbet and a handful of blueberries. Damn fine drink I say. I think I may be a bit sloppy by dinnertime.

I awoke this Thursday transformed - I am now officially a tractor-owning gal. I shall call her Lucy and she shall till and tow and plow and disc most nobly, for many a long year.

A toast to Lucy!

A toast to hot lesbo law firms and collegiate young thangs!

A toast to Nyquil and quick recoveries!

A toast to the wonders of MKF!

Wow! What a Thursday it turned out to be for everyone else out there, MKF! I'm not sure which sounds better - your own little league softball team, your own tractor, or a three day weekend. Right about now the three day weekend is sounding pretty good ... as I have things to do tomorrow which absolutely must get done whether I'm sick or not. Ah, well.

A big GRATZ on the tractor, though! My wife grew up on a farm in Japan, and her father named her after a tractor. The joke loses something in translation, but it's kind of like if you named your son John Deer in America. Whenever they called out her name at the bank or the post office or the doctor's office, everyone would always turn and stare at her. And she hated it. Shortly before getting married, I apologized to her for my impossible-for-the-Japanese-to-pronounce Danish last name (lots and lots of consonants, precious few vowels), but she smiled and said, "at least it's not a tractor!"

Personally, I think Lucy is a great name for a tractor.
