And I really hate to throw a wrench in the works, but it's not the original originals. They're being made from the 1993 laserdics.

And so that means they won't be Anamorphic.

So to sum up, we'll be getting the originals, just not the way the fans wanted them.

Thanks for the link Billy.

It doesn't sound like much of a bonus. First, you either have to repurchase DVD's you already own in order to get the original film version, or purchase something you don't want if you never liked the edited versions.

Then, the original versions haven't been remastered. They're non-anamorphic, non-digital pictures with 2.0 sound taken from the old laser disks. May as well just watch your old VHS tapes.

Either George Lucas really doesn't like the original versions of his films and won't touch them, or we will have another special edition coming out in a couple years.

I think I'll hold out and hope for a remastered edition of the original films.

I remember reading an interview in which George Lucas said the original movies no longer existed in any form, but now these turn up. Georgie certainly knows how to make a buck. I've spent more than enough money on the different versions over the years so I'll just stick with the boxset.

Actually I'm very surprised that a boxset of all six movies hasn't been released yet.

Speaking of which, Celebration IV to be held in Los Angeles over Memorial Day Weekend 2007. Personally I'm not happy about this. CIII was one of the best times of my life (not just because of the convention, but because of the people I went with), but there's no way I can justify the travel time and cost of getting there, hotel, and con (I live in Wisconsin). So I won't be attending this one.

Just got round to watching my Revenge of the Sith DVD and I was surprised that the 70 minute mix of the soundtracks of all six movies wasn't on it. I was looking forward to watching that! Hopefully it'll be included in the boxset.

Um...I think what you're looking for is packaged with the Soundtrack.

I don't think so, unless a soundtrack was released with this on DVD. It's basically a condensed version of all six movies - pictures and music with no dialogue.

ETA:
I watched the John Williams interview on the ROTS DVD again and they're calling it a 70 minute music video and it's to be released, or possibly already is, on DVD.

It was released on DVD, packaged with the ROTS soundtrack.
