Bones

watched Bones, David Borenazas [sp?] latest/last drama. was'nt that bad but it did remind me of the BBC Silent Witness where we had a criminalpathologist making all sorts of deductions from a remnant of a toe nail clipping, and which was mercillessly lampooned in 'Dead Ringers'.

as I said, not that bad, quite surprised there is'nt a thread here on it. was it released in the US?

Yes I actually REALLY enjoy Bones. It has very witty dialogue and is entertaining. Unfortunatly Fox have decided to screw the show over by changing its day and time so as of next week it will go up against Lost on Wednesday night. We are going to buy another VCR so we can tape it :)

The plot is supposed to be based (somewhat) on a real persons experiences. Oh and the Christmas episode was hysterical.

I've also enjoyed the show quite a bit. Of course I wanted it to do well so DB won't have to do any more stuff for Josswad, but it has been good. The chemistry between the leads is good and DB gets to do some different stuff that on Angel. I loved Bones application for a gun (to shoot people), that was rich. Supposedly this is based on Kathryn Reichs (I probably got the spelling off) who did this sort of thing, though my roommate who reads her says it has been embellished a lot. So probably about 1% is accurate. I hope the new night doesn't kill this. But on Tuesday it was against NCIS, a very good show with a great cast, and Gilmore Girls, my favorite show on right now. Wednesday might be an improvement, despite being against Lost.

I've also seen a few eps of Bones and think it's quite good - an interesting twist on the crime drama/investigative genre, and I like the quirkiness (and the hotness) of Emily Deschanel, the forensic anthropologist. They have a funny vibe between them that reminds me a little bit of Moonlighting. I hope it does okay against Lost.

I totally adore this show. Temperance is so no nonsense and adorable in a geeky sort of way. I find her dynamic with David Boreanaz to be quirky and hilarious.

I love this show too, I watched the first episode out of curiosity and wasn't convinced, but I carried on watching and now love it.I actually quite like the artist girl? I can't remember her name? I think all the charecters are loveable. I hope it keeps going and doing well!

I also like this show a lot. David and Emily are great together. The rest of the cast are also great. It's a good show and I hope it stays around for a while.

The artist = Angela

I swear this chemistry thing between Boothe and Bones is driving me nuts! I mean, Cam is ok in a bitchy "I'm pulling rank on you" sort of way, but Bones is just so delightfully blunt that you can't help but adore her.

OK, I've been watching this at the same time I have watched a couple of the last episodes of Angel on TNT in the AM. First, I want to say David looks great on Bones. He seems just so much happier and slimmer. The last season of Angel, he was looking a little bloated. Not anymore, he looks very healthy now. And Bones has turned out to be a very enjoyable show which looks like a real hit for FOX. And after watching the last few eps of Angel , all I can say is that they must be thankful it ended when it did. God, talk about horrid. I hope Bones goes on for a very long time.

I like this show - but not too happy about their very brief and hardly seen "bi' story line

Okay, voice of dissention here.

I think the show is okay, but not brilliant. It is outclassed completely by the CSI franchise and by "Criminal Minds", and here in the UK by "Silent Witness" and "New Tricks". The cases and their resolutions aren't particularly involving and the show relies on the chemistry of its cast to move the story along.

And this is where I become a big target - I think the Brennan/Booth chemistry is non-existant. Boreanaz and Deschenel look like they are trying too hard to have any sort of dynamism and I personally find them the least interesting part of the show and given that they are the main characters, it detracts from my enjoyment. The enjoyment I get are from Brennan's team, who genuinely do spark off each other very well. I especially like the character of Hodgins who ahs went from a classic paranoid conspiracy geek with arrogance and issues to a very likeable and genuinely caring guy. I also like Sweets, as he offers a fresh dynamic.

I agree that the bisexual storyline was glossed over far too much and could have done the story good to have a different sexual dynamic going on.

Sorry, but I just think there is better out there. Its a watchable show, but it could be so much better.

I like this show, but I was disappointed with their handling of Angela's Bi story line. I would have liked to have seen them really explore that aspect of Angela's character on screen (what there was of the roommate story was mostly off screen) . was also disappointed when she went back to hodgins and married him.
