Chrissie? Dinner? Hmm... :hmm My bet's on Chrissie being Tara's partner. Erm, 'partner' in the NYPD sense, that is - she did think to herself that she'd given up on a social life, and mainly just had beers now and then with Dawn or her partner. And being that Dawn is Dawn, not Chrissie...

Or, y'know, I could be completely wrong, and just making a doofus of myself in public :)

So I'm thinking she needs to talk to someone friendly, other than Willow, as she needs to talk about herself and Willow. Which'll be interesting to see - I'm curious about how much of what's in her head is coonscious, and how much she's only dimly aware of. It seemed like she was perhaps a wee bit abrupt in leaving Willow's apartment, but then again - just as Willow was thinking she was just 'another satisfied woman', she pretty much told her she wanted her to call. I wonder if on some level she just wanted to be honest with Willow, to show her that this is what her life has to be like - she's a cop, she can't just take time off, or show up late. I like that Willow recognised some of that earlier.

Anyway, not that the loving and the handcuffs and ice and blindfold and all that weren't :drool , cause they really, really were... I'm hoping to see Willow and Tara get together in a more conversation-type setting, and establish some real confidence in both of them wanting to keep seeing each other - and not just for handcuffs, ice, blindfold... :drool again.

At any rate, Tara's tattoo certainly won't let her go too long without seeing Willow, considering how it got such lovely attention from her :wink

Well, I don't know who Crissy is but at least Tara was incredibly forthcoming about the fact that her numbers are there for Willow. Definitely positive. (wow, is that redundant).

The "love-making" this morning, and I hesitate to call it that, is so wonderful and intimate. They both are absolutely amazing at letting the other in and opening themselves up. I couldn't imagine allowing a virtual stranger to handcuff me and use a blindfold. Talk about trust. Wow and wow.

I can't wait to find out more about the progression of their relationship. Well done.

Uhm... Chrissie... I don't think so.:no You wouldn't dare let anything come between this budding relationship... would you Magrat? Since we don't know a great deal about Tara's past, my money is on Chrissie being a younger sister or cousin. Surely this is more likely than *EGAD* :shock ... another woman! Yep, this has to be the explaination for the mysterious call... right?

Okay remaining patient... oh enough of that... tell us!:gnome :bounce

The passion you describe between Willow and Tara is extremely intense. It's as if they cannot get close enough to one another; throwing all caution (and judgement) to the wind. Loved the quote:

Quote:
“Open up for me baby,” whispered Tara ...“I need this from you, I want you so much, I want to make you scream.”

To me that quote expresses just what this experience is for both of them; fullfillment of need. Neither woman it seems has ever given into their desires in such a raw manner. It will be very interesting to see how they proceed from here.

BTW... handcuffs... ice :thud :jaw ... nice uhm... touch.:drool

More please... soon?:pray

Cheers,

ShyTemptress: re-reading won’t help but you’ll learn more about Chrissie soon:governator :laugh .

Peggy of sunnydale: you could be right…but then again.:lmao

Truck driving magic mamma: thanks and you will find out all about Chrissie every soon.

Behindhereyes: I take it you liked. No problems and this will only get steamier. A threat…you will have to wait and see.

WickedReds: hmm it would be nice to trace Tara’s tattoo, without a doubt:thud

Trashxmymheart: wrong…well read the next part and decide.

Artemis: good logic you could be on to something…or then again not:seesaw .

You’ll find out a bit more in the next part, but Tara isn’t quite with it and yes Willow will have to learn how difficult it is dating a cop.

On the getting together in a more conversation environment, something might just be in the offing.

We can’t leave that tattoo lonely for to long can we:rofl ?

Willster: I cannot confirm or deny:devilish .

Sam: I like writing the naughtiness.

LizPurr: uuuuhhhhmmm:glasses ?

JustSkipIt: without a doubt Tara wants to see Willow again.

I agree to allow someone to handcuff and blindfold you that you have just met is reckless, but this wasn’t planned it was something that progressed naturally. I’m glad you found it intimate at some point this changed from sex to being something a bit deeper.

Hope you’ll enjoy the rest of the story.

PeachyNectar: Tara with another would she…hmm we’ll have to see.

You are right this rawness of passion is new to both of them, but will they accept or be firghtened by it and run from it.

Handcuffs and ice…always fun:wink

Tibbs: thank you

Title: Hangetsu part 7

Author: Magrat

Ratings: PG: 13

Spoilers: None

Disclaimer: not mine blah, blah

Willow sat back on her sofa, feeling like some part of her had walked out of her apartment when Tara left. She picked up her phone. “Buffy, you got time for a private training session today?”

“Okay 3 is good for me too, I’ll see you there,” said Willow after listening to Buffy’s reply. She put the phone down and was surprised that the feeling of emptiness remained. She wanted to see more of Tara and she wanted it to be soon. She smiled when she thought of the blonde and she felt a little better.

******************************

Tara jumped into her car and placed the brown bag of groceries she had purchased on the passenger’s seat. She pulled out of the lot and headed towards the tunnel that would take her to New Jersey. After making good time on a quiet Sunday afternoon she pulled up outside a small neat house with a tidy garden in a quiet suburban neighbourhood. Tara walked around the back and opened the kitchen door.

A tall handsome black woman, with high cheek bones and almond shaped eyes, turned from the stove, where she was cooking dinner and gave Tara a warm smile. “Hey honey, what’s kept you away for so long?”

Tara put her bag of groceries down and pulled the woman into a hug and then put her hand on Chrissie’s belly, which was starting to bulge “You know, work, life…I know, no excuse. How is my little girl doing and you, have you been looking after yourself?”

“In this house? I haven’t a choice they way they fuss around me, and the scan showed her as being very healthy. Alex is going to have a bouncing baby sister,” said Chrissie, rolling her eyes. “You didn’t have to bring anything, you know.”

“I felt it was time you have one of my world famous smoothies, I have to make sure you get all your vitamins,” said Tara, getting up and pulling out a couple of mangoes, some bananas and a quart of fresh orange juice. “Now you sit down while I get this ready.”

“Tara, I’m pregnant, not ill,” said Chrissie, sounding exasperated.

The blonde ignored her. Instead she had already taken out a chopping board and a sharp knife and was starting to peel the mango.

“What’s wrong?” asked Chrissie, as Tara put the knife down and got a large jug from a cupboard. Her friend was acting impulsively instead of slowly and methodically as was her usual demeanour.

“N-nothing, what could be wrong,” said Tara, turning her attention back to the mango.

“Well for one thing you usually like to get some rest before you go on nights and here you are in my kitchen preparing fruit drinks, while your hands are shaking so bad you can hardly hold the knife. Who is she?” asked Chrissie, her question obviously struck a nerve, and Tara jumped, causing the knife to slip. “Tara, damn…”

“It’s okay, just a small cut,” said Tara, shaking her hand.

“Run it under the tap, then wrap a kitchen towel around it. I’ll get a bandage,” said Chrissie rising from the chair.

“Look it’s okay…”

Chrissie shot her a look that said she was not going to take any arguments as she came back to Tara with the bandages. She took Tara’s hand in hers looking at the cut on her finger. “That’s pretty deep, are you sure it won’t need a stitch or two?”

“It’s just a little cut,” snapped Tara, instantly regretting it. She meekly held out the finger to let Chrissie put the bandage on. “Thanks, I’m sorry.”

She waved Tara off. “Oh come on, I have a husband and a 4 year old; I have had much worse, but tell me what’s wrong.”

“I don’t know,” said Tara before taking a deep breath. “Yeah I do. There is someone I just met…she…I think she’s special.”

Chrissie looked at her friend’s face and it was more troubled than she would ever expect from someone who had just found a special person. “Why do I feel there is a “but” coming on?”

Tara looked around the room, anywhere than at the intense brown eyes that were watching her closely.

“Do I have to use my courtroom technique to drag this out of you Detective,” said Chrissie.

“Lieutenant,” corrected Tara automatically. “No.”

Chrissie waited and still nothing from Tara, who seemed to be finding the bandage on her finger fascinating. “You came here to talk to me, so talk.”

“C-chrisie,” said Tara, starting to look distressed, sitting down on another of the kitchen chairs.

“Tara, I can’t help you if you won’t talk to me,” said Chrissie, taking Tara’s hands and holding them between her own.

Tara started to talk in a low voice. “I met this woman the other night and she is…she is beautiful, smart and sexy and perfect. She is Dawn’s sister’s friend and we met and it was so good.” Tara shuddered, as torrid erotic images flashed across her mind.

“So why do you look so worried?” asked Chrissie.

“It was a little, I don’t know…r-rough,” said Tara.

“She hurt you?” asked Chrissie, suddenly concerned.

“NO, no,” protested Tara and then quieter. “It w-was me.”

“You hurt her?” asked Chrissie, her brow creased with disbelief.

“Yes, no, no I didn’t. I c-can’t explain it. I like her a lot, but I wasn’t sure if things hadn’t gotten out of hand.” Tara was blushing and getting more and more embarrassed with every word.

“Tara, when was the last time you were with someone?” asked Chrissie, seeing that the blonde looked even more mortified, continued anyway. “You have been alone for so long that you are probably not used to the whole passion thing. I mean, did she want to see you again?”

“Yes. At least she seemed to…”

“Then don’t worry, honey,” said Chrissie.

“Although I kinda blew out of there in a hurry,” said Tara. “I didn’t even get her number or gave her mine.”

Tara…”

“It’s okay, I told her to get my number through Dawn. I suppose I could do that too,” said Tara.

“So tell me about her?” asked Chrissie.

“She’s called Willow…” Tara paused.

“And?” prodded Chrissie.

“We didn’t do a hell of a lot of talking,” said Tara giving Chrissie her little side-ways smile.

“If you think she is special…”

“Who’s special?” asked a male voice coming from the doorway behind them.

“Auntie Tara,” said another voice, and a small boy of about 4 or 5 threw himself bodily onto Tara’s lap.

“Hey Alex, where have you been?” Tara asked, ruffling her hand through his short curly hair.

“Out riding bikes with my Dad,” answered Alex. “Are you having lunch with us? Does that mean he doesn’t have to work tonight?”

“Sorry sport, but your Dad still has to work,” said Tara, “but I am going to have lunch with you.”

Alex’s face went from downcast to smiling in no time at all.

“Talking of which,” said Chrissie. “Alex go and wash hands and get changed.”

The little boy looked at his mother for a second. “Can Tara come up with me?”

“If you get started Dad will be up in a minute to help you,” said Chrissie.

Alex kissed Tara on the cheek and headed for the stairs.

“He is so sweet, I feel my hormones going off every time I come here,” sighed Tara.

“So who is special?” asked her partner of more than 8 years, making Tara blush. “Maclay has a girl woo, and may I add hoo.”

“Xander,” said Chrissie. “If you can’t behave you can go upstairs with Alex.”

Xander gave his wife a hang-dog look but turned and winked at Tara. “I’ll behave, I promise.”

“Tara has met a woman called Willow, but they were so busy having hot monkey sex that she didn’t get to know her or even get her number…”

“Hey,” said Tara, looking a little offended.

“You have a point you want to disagree on?”

“I can get her number from Dawn,” mumbled Tara.

“Weak defense,” answered Chrissie. “But I have an idea, we are having a barbecue next Saturday, so why don’t we invite her and Dawn?”

Tara looked ready to argue again but the idea appealed to her. “K.”

“Cool,” said Xander.

Hmmm. Quite happy to see an update. I must say that I see tremendous potential for this story (and not just because it's been hot so far). I mean obviously the two girls have some things to work through. Neither has been in a serious relationship for a while. But they both feel the connection. Interesting that Willow is wanting an extra workout with Buffy while Tara (the more physically dominating one) went to talk to a friend. Good idea about the Bar-b-que. Should be interesting to see them together in a less-intimate setting.

And now it seems Willow has some frustrations to work out. I can totally relate to that. We each have our own ways.

Great job. Can't wait to see what happens at the barbecue.

Great to see an update! :bounce

I'm looking forward to this barbecue, if Willow goes (why wouldn't she?) and she and Tara can manage some good conversation time, that should allay Tara's anxiety about how passionately grrr she was. After all, if Willow was kind of freaked by that, making casual conversation (possibly with suggestive waggling-of-eyebrows and winking and so on) wouldn't be the natural thing to do... that should reassure Tara that hot sexy passionate Tara is a good thing in Willow's books :)

Looking forward to Willow's chat with Buffy as well - seeing as Buffy and Dawn helped set them up, it'll be interesting to see how she reacts.

And Xander! Cool - I was wondering whether Alex was actually a five-year-old Xander (hey, why not? :D ), but no, named for his father. Is he roughly the same age as Tara? Interesting, as with Willow and Tara, to see a slightly older, wiser Xander, with Chrissie and a son and a daughter on the way. I like Chrissie too, she's obviously very smart, a good source of advice for Tara.

I just read this fic all the way through, and what can I say... it's hot! And the last update with Tara and the insecurities and all - that was great too. Very Tara. ;)

I don't really know why I haven't read this fic before - I absolutely love everything you write. :bow I am wondering, however, where your Harry Potter story went. Did it end and I missed it? I don't really think so, but if that was the ending and I am just being a space cadet (p.s. I have never used that phrase before in my life), I think a sequal is in order. Because I friggin' loved that fic. It was one of the first W/T fics I read.

So basically, what I'm saying is... you Rock :bow . And you should update everything that is in your power to update... very soon. :pinky

It's great that they're both trying to work out (in Willow's case literally) what happened and what to do next. That they (at least Tara, though I'm sure Willow too) are thinking about it in the cold light of day, after a night of raw, passionate sex is a good sign that they want to continue and build a relationship.

Like, like, like Chrissie. A lot. She's a good friend. Perceptive, understanding, loyal. Lucky Xander. Often Tara doesn't have a lot of friends, but I'm so pleased that she has someone she can count on.

The BBQ will be interesting. It'll also be interesting to see how the others react.

Loving this fic more and more with each update. Your introduction of new characters was flawless, adding a wonderful layer to this story. Bravo. :clap :clap

The way both women immediately contacted their support systems was sweet. Willow running to Buffy, and Tara ringing what seems to be her surrogate family. I like the partnering of she and Xander. Their interaction on the show was minimal at best, so them having a genuine relationship will be refreshing. Chrissy has already won me over. Her quick wit, straightforwardness, and obvious affection for Tara is endearing. Might I also add... she sounds like a hottie!:wink

The BBQ should be very interesting indeed. I am eager to see how the ladies interact with each other in a less intimate environment. Not to say a BBQ can't be intimate... there are many uses for BBQ sauce.:lmao :devilish Bad PN... down hormones.

Hangetsu is yet another triumph from the creative talents of the brilliant Magrat. :bow :bow Please:pray don't make us wait long for an update... I wouldn't want to start pulling out my hair again.:gnome

Behindhereyes: thank you and they are very important people. Oh yeah Tara thinks Willow is very special.

JustSkipIt: I hope you enjoy the rest of the story, we have worked on the direction we want to take it, so I hope it will good. The way it panned out with Tara wanting to talk and Willow wanting to work out was done on purpose, but you may have to wait a few updates to see why. Yep, with the barbecue they will have to talk.

Wimpy: you are right everyone deals with things in their own way and the are both doing the best that they can. Barbecue should be fun.

Onethoudsandtears: thank you

Artemis: yeah big conversation time coming up, not just with the barbecue but between Willow and Buffy too.

Little Alex a re-born Xander, interesting plot idea:lmao . Xander is the same age as the rest, I thought it would be great to write him as the responsible family man, but still with that Xander humour. Chrissie is very smart and there is a lot more to learn about her.

WillowPowered: can you now:lol …you never know:devilish

Alysagoddess: They need to talk about a lot of things and the “rough” sex is just one of the things.

Sam: you are quite correct, they weren’t expecting and aren’t in quite sure where it will lead…yet.

Watersong: okay you made me :blush but thank you.

I’m glad you have enjoyed this fic. The Harry Potter fic isn’t finished instead I hit a block, but I have a feeling that it might be unblocked very soon. I hope you carry on enjoying my stuff.

Eirnlove; thank you very much, such high praise. I hope you enjoy the rest.

Hidden Watson: yeah it is always a good sign to want to talk about things with your friends. It doesn’t look like a flash in the pan.

Chrissie is very important and will be good for Tara and Xander is a very lucky young man.

Truck driving magic mama: Tara partnered up with Dawn only for a short time while Xander was injured. Dawn now is a murder squad detective, while Tara and Xander work in the organised crime squad.

PeachyNectar: yes they went to the people who support them and mean the most to them. Chrissie hot…I should think so;) .

Barbecue sauce? Even I’m not that kinky.

Title: Hangetsu part 8

Writer: Magrat

Spoilers: none

Ratings: NC: 17

Disclaimer: not mine blah, blah

Hangetsu part 8

Buffy looked concerned as she watched Willow in the reception area. The security system that she had installed with tips from her sister provided a perfect view of the desk and the customers entering. Willow looked tired and a little drawn; she would not be happy with Dawn, Buffy decided, if Tara had hurt Willow. Her little sister knew quite well how precious her friend was to her. She was also feeling a little put out that Willow had left with Tara before the end of the dojo opening. Yeah she had celebrated with Dawn when their plan had worked, but she missed Willow when they went out to celebrate the night’s success.

She prowled around her office impatiently waiting for Willow to appear. She heard the knock on her door. Buffy dropped into the chair behind her desk and tried to appear relaxed. “Come in.”

“Hi Buffy,” said Willow, smiling as she entered the room. “Are you ready to work out?”

“Sure,” said Buffy, surprised that Willow wanted to get down to action because she usually liked to chat for a while. “What do you want to do first?”

“How about the air shields and the punch bag,” said Willow.

Buffy nodded.

*****************************

Buffy held the shield as Willow pounded kick after kick into the pad. Even after the half an hour she had spent on the punch bag she was still hitting the shield pretty hard. “Plenty of energy there but you’re losing some form. Take it easy and concentrate more on pushing your hip into the kick, you’ll get more power. Do you want a water break?”

Willow nodded, too breathless to talk.

“You have some serious energy to burn off. I thought you might have been working it off with Dawn’s friend from the force that you disappeared with last night,” said Buffy.

“Is that a very unsubtle way of asking how things went with Tara last night?” asked Willow, finally getting her breath back.

“Well I thought that’s why you came in today, to talk about her,” replied Buffy. “I didn’t expect to find you actually wanting to train, so I take it things didn’t work out.”

Willow took a big swig of water, knowing she was keeping Buffy on tenterhooks. “I wouldn’t quite put it like that.”

“So how would you put it Will? Come on spill,” said Buffy.

“You know I think I’ve had enough now. I am going to hit the showers,” said Willow, turning from Buffy with an evil smile on her face. She walked into the showers leaving her astonished friend staring after her.

************

Buffy went back to her office, confused by Willow’s behaviour. This wasn’t how she was expecting Willow to act. She thought she would either be excited or deflated, but she was neither, instead she was full of energy but focused as if she was keeping something inside her. Buffy shook her head, she was analyzing too much. She needed to wait and let Willow tell her what was going on.

A knock signalled Willow’s presence at the office door. “Come in Will,” said Buffy.

Willow walked in, her skin and hair gleaming. She sat down and smiled at Buffy.

“So?” asked Buffy.

Willow looked puzzled. “So…so what?”

“Will, enough teasing, how did it go with Tara?” asked Buffy, turning her back on Willow for a second as she put her coffee machine on.

“It was…it was amazing. She is great, I had one of the best nights of my life,” said Willow, looking wistfully out of the window.

“So she was good in the sack…”

“No…”

“She wasn’t good in the sack?” teased Buffy gently.

“She was great, not as if it’s any of your business. What I meant was it was more than that. I know it sounds corny, but I felt a real connection between us,” said Willow quietly.

Buffy rolled her eyes; this wasn’t how Willow usually talked. She had been hoping that Willow would just have some fun with Tara to lift her out of the stress she was under at work. Willow could do with blowing off some steam. “Do you want a cup of coffee?”

“Sure,” Willow answered. “Buffy, I think there could be something starting here between me and Tara; I want you to be okay with that.”

Buffy filled the cup with coffee and passed it to Willow, but as she did she grabbed her wrist, causing the coffee to spill all over the desk.

“Buffy, what are you doing…”

“What am I doing? What are you doing? What is this Willow?” demanded Buffy, pointing to the line of bruises that circled her wrist.”

Willow snatched her arm back from Buffy rubbing her wrist slightly. “It’s none of your business.”

“What, did she beat you?”

“Don’t be stupid,” said Willow, her face flushing with anger, shocked at what Buffy was suggesting.

Buffy was looking at Willow’s left wrist and could see the tell-tale bruises there, too. “What am I supposed to think…you called me wanting to work out, you’ve hardly said a thing about what happened. You have bruises on your wrists, I take it from some type of rough sex…you are acting strange, Willow.”

“Strange…strange because someone wants me…strange because I have some fun?”

Buffy could see the danger signs flashing in Willow’s eyes, so she lowered her voice. “Did she cuff you; is that your idea of fun now?”

“We were having fun, which again is none of your business. Buffy I don’t get what you’re getting so wound up about; I thought you would be happy for me,” said Willow, defensively.

Buffy walked around the table and put her hand tentatively on Willow’s shoulder, it was so rare that they had any type of confrontation, she wasn’t sure if her hand would be shrugged away. She felt relieved when Willow didn’t move. “Don’t you remember what happened to me in college? I just don’t want to see you get hurt.”

Willow reached up and squeezed Buffy’s hand. “Sweetie, please believe me it is nothing like that. We were fooling around with her cuffs, that’s all, and before you ask it was me who started playing with the cuffs first, not her.”

“But you are acting so strange…I don’t know…if it was as good as you said I thought you would bursting to tell me, not kicking the hell out of a punch bag,” said Buffy.

“When she left this morning the apartment seemed empty somehow and I felt it inside of me, but at the same time I had this energy I needed to get out of my system; like an electrical charge. I’m sorry if you misunderstood. I should have explained to you that I needed to get it out, but that everything was good…better than good,” explained Willow.

“If you’re sure?” asked Buffy, deciding with the nod of Willow’s head that she would drop the subject but keep a close eye on Tara. “So uhm, when are you seeing her again?”

“That’s the problem, we kinda got caught up and she realized she was on duty tonight. We didn’t have time to swap numbers but she said that Dawn could give them to me,” said Willow, hoping that this wouldn’t start Buffy railing against Tara again.

Buffy skipped back around her desk. “Well Dawn was flirting heavily with one of my black belts at the club last night, but I think she went home alone.” As she talked Buffy pressed the speed dial number for her sister. “Hey Dawn…yeah it was a great night. Dawn I have something to ask you…uhuh Willow is here…how did…okay…I have a pen here.”

Willow impatiently watched as Buffy jotted some down numbers, to pass the time she took some tissue from the box on Buffy’s desk and started to blot up some of the spilt coffee. She looked up when she heard Buffy say goodbye to her sister. “Have you got them?

“Yeah and it would seem that a certain blonde has already phoned her to see if she had your numbers,” said Buffy, smiling in spite of herself at the way her friend’s face lit up. “Here’s her numbers and before you ask, yes, Dawn did give Tara your home and cell numbers.”

Willow rushed over to Buffy and gave her a hug. “Thanks Buffy.”

“Well I didn’t actually do a lot,” said Buffy.

“You did enough,” said Willow. “I just realized I haven’t asked you how the opening night finished; my bad.”

“It was a roaring success, I have 2 more clubs wanting to join the association and we pushed a load of the gym memberships. You never know, maybe this place won’t bankrupt me after all,” said Buffy, smiling.

“Never happen,” said Willow. “You won’t let that happen. Seeing as I ran out on you last night, can I buy you dinner tonight to celebrate the success of the best dojo in New York?”

“Well, if you are twisting my arm I’m sure I can be persuaded,” responded Buffy, pleased that the tension between them had dissipated.

****************

Willow walked into her apartment; her mind flashing back to the way she had burst through the door the night before. She gave a little smile, but thinking back seemed to bring back that empty feeling that had driven her out of her apartment to Hangetsu. “This is ridiculous. I like living alone.” Neko strolled towards her, then wound her way around Willow’s legs, who stopped to pick the cat up. “But I don’t live alone, I live with you, don’t I beautiful.” The cat purred loudly as she placed a kiss on the top of her head.

Willow could see the light on her answering machine blinking. She had wanted to check it and her cell phone all night, but decided it might have been rude to do it while eating with Buffy. She had been faintly disappointed when she had checked her cell and there was no message from Tara, and she left checking her answering machine until she had got back the apartment because she didn’t want to compound that feeling by having nothing at home. She sighed; why was she waiting for some woman to call her? Maybe Buffy was right and she was not being herself by behaving like this.

To prove to herself that she didn’t need any message to make her night complete she went to the kitchen, gave Neko some kibble and poured herself a glass of orange juice. Willow was doing her best to ignore the flashing red light but it seemed to call to her so, eventually, she went to the machine and played back her messages. The first two were from one of her partners at work who was reminding her that they needed to get moving on the project they were working on tomorrow. Willow shook her head. She wondered how the guy’s wife put up with him. She considered herself a workaholic but he could outstrip her easily. The next message was from her mother and Willow listened as she sipped her juice while she complained about Willow not calling her and not visiting, nothing new there thought Willow. Her heart skipped a beat when she recognized the next voice that came on.

“Hi Willow it’s me. Uhm that’s Tara in case you didn’t recognize my voice, I hope you did but…I’m getting off the point. I hope you don’t mind, I got your number from Dawn. I, uhm, had a great time last night, I hope you did. I’m off point again. I hate these machines.” Willow giggled at Tara’s ramblings. “Anyway here goes; my partner Xander and his wife are having a barbecue Saturday night and I wondered if you w-want to come with me. I mean it’s c-cool if you don’t. Call me and let me know; I should be off duty by 8 in the morning.”

Willow sat down on her couch a huge grin on her face.

**********************

Tara fell into bed exhausted. She looked at her clock which read 6.15, and she decided that it hadn’t been such a good idea going to Xander and Chrissie’s after spending the night with Willow. Sleep might have been a smarter thing, especially as she and Xander had spent the evening in a crummy bar watching a suspected arms dealer, who, it was rumoured, was hooking up with one of New York’s most vicious street gangs. It wasn’t the sort of place where you could let your guard down for a second and it was crucial not to get recognized as a member of NYPD’s organized crime squad. She was so pleased she had been able to get home quicker than she thought; the dealer had seemed edgy and he took off before the meeting was supposed to have gone down. It meant that tomorrow night she and Xander would have to hit the streets and hit up some of their informants, but for now her body ached and tiredness seemed to permeate every fibre of her being; and she quickly fell into a dreamless sleep.

Willow was surprised that she had managed to be the first person into her office this morning. She liked to get in early, finding it much easier to concentrate on the complicated computer calculations she had to analyze. They were running simulations to evaluate the performance of a new bridge in Charleston when subjected to high wind, such as from a hurricane. She sat lost in her mental wrestling over the various scenarios when she noticed the time clock on her computer. It was 8: 30 and her heartbeat quickened as she decided this would be a good time to call Tara.

Tara woke with a start as her phone rang. She waited for the machine to pick it up, so she could get back to sleep. When she heard her name being spoken by Willow she scrambled for the phone. “Hey Willow it’s me…I was asleep.” Tara lay back on her bed.

“I’m sorry, I’ll call back later,” said Willow, hearing the sleepiness in Tara’s voice.

“N-no,” said Tara. “I’m awake now. So uhm how are you?”

“Fine…missing you,” admitted Willow, almost in a whisper.

Tara grinned to herself. “I bet you haven’t thought about me since I left.”

“Oh, not more than once or twice…a minute,” said Willow, following Tara’s teasing tone.

“Only once or twice…I must be losing my touch,” said Tara

Willow sat back in her chair relaxing, work forgotten for a second. “From what I remember there wasn’t anything wrong with your touch.”

“I could say the same for you,” said Tara, the tone of her voice deepening. “In fact I could do with your touch right now.”

Willow’s hand tightened on the phone, her breathing quickened. “I wish I could lick down your tattoo again.”

With her free hand Tara stroked her nipples, making them hard, and gave a small groan.

“Can you tell me what you are doing?” asked Willow, the sounds from the other end of the phone starting to turn her on.

“I’m making my nipples hard,” admitted Tara breathlessly.

“Ohh god, are you wet?” whispered Willow, hoping that none of her co-workers could hear her. “I need to know, touch yourself, for me, please.”

“My pleasure, literally,” replied Tara, she pressed a finger between the folds of her labia. “Yes, baby, you make me wet.”

Willow groaned, gripping the phone harder, her knuckles turning white.

“I’m so wet that I’ve just pushed two fingers inside me, they slipped in so easy,” said Tara. “And my clit is so hard.”

“Fuck yourself,” begged Willow in a strangled whisper.

“I am baby, I am,” moaned Tara. “I’m so close already…oh Willow.”

“Tara please I want to hear you come,” said Willow softly, her hand shaking as she gripped the phone so hard she felt she was going to break it.

Tara’s fingers moved in and out if her body like pistons, and her thumb ground hard into her clit, she felt it contract as her orgasm crashed over her. “Oh Willow this is so good, oh god.”

Willow could feel her own body reacting to Tara’s excitement. “That was amazing, god you surprise me, what are your doing to me?”

“Nothing, just l-letting what happens happen. I know you w-want this,” said Tara breathlessly, still shaking from her release, as she felt the waves of sleepiness folding over her again. “We s-should arrange Saturday.”

Willow heard the sleepiness in Tara’s voice again. “Go to sleep baby. I’ll call you this evening and we can talk about the barbecue.”

“K,” said Tara. “Night baby.”

Willow replaced the receiver gently, her hands still shaking; this woman was taking her places that she had never thought she would go. Her mind was whirling, she doubted that she could add 2 and 2, never mind the stochastic finite element calculations she was supposed to be working on.

Yay an update! Nice to see that they finally have each others numbers and Tara was kind enough to invite Willow to the BBQ...not that there was any question in my mind whether she would or not. And that last part on the phone was wonderful..what a way to get woken up!

Buffy was right to be concerned. If my best friend came back from a first date with marks round her wrists I'd want to know she's fine. Sweet of Tara to leave her number with Dawn already, shows she wants to see Willow again.

The phone sex. Oh my. That was so hot. They know exactly how to get the other off don't they. Willow's at work, right? She must be mightily frustrated after that. I hope her company doesn't record phone calls :) .

Wow, that's a sure-fire way of making a work day more interesting... :drool

I liked Buffy's concern over Willow's cuff-marks, very true to character - given her background in this story, and just in general, always quick to watch out for her friends. More than ever I'm looking forwadr to the barbecue. Willow and Tara getting a chance to talk for five seconds without their yummy desires getting the better of them... or will they just duck into some secluded corner and do some sizzling of their own? :D

Hey there,

I like this update very much (and not just for the phone sex). I find it very telling that Willow's reaction to the confusion of her emotional response is to go and work out. Seems quite an appropriate and healthy response. I just wish that she went head-on into the conversation with Buffy rather than allowing Buffy to grab her and pull her in. Seems not as direct. I do like the surety with which she is able to describe the surprising nature of her connection with Tara. On the other hand, I can't really imagine many people with whom I would have a conversation regarding my recent--and unusual it seems for W/T--rough sex (as Willow with Buffy and Tara with Christi). A bit unusual.

Anyway, I love the way you capture that feeling one has when we find out that the person who's number we were getting was also getting ours. That Tara is obviously as interested as Willow. And then Willow's obsession--not checking the cell phone, not checking the home machine from the cell, not listening to the machine upon entering the apt., and calling at 8:30 (hmmm, 30 minutes, not quite stalkerish and kind of casual but also shows interest...).

The phone sex is of course powerful and hot. Again though, seems like such an intimate expression for people who've known each other for 36 hours. I like their calling each other "baby" throughout that conversation. In general, I'm very looking forward to the rest.
