Title: When Blue Meets Green

Author: By Glendaofoz

Disclaimer: I do not own Willow and Tara or the rest of the BTVS gang that may appear in this story. Everything else comes from my imagination and from my own personal life experiences.

Rating: It is going to range from PG-13 to NC-17 due to the awesome girl on girl action that will take place between both our lovely lady witches and also between some other lady characters from the show. I will give you plenty of warning each chapters rating so that you are not surprised.

Summary: Willow Rosenberg is the owner of a fairly new but successful graphic design company and that has become her life. That is until one day a very attractive blond haired woman named Tara comes walking into her life. At first, although she did find this woman very attractive, Willow made no attempt to make their relationship anything other than business. But Tara had other plans and she makes every attempt to get close to the most attractive, intelligent and kind woman that she had ever met.

Spoilers: None. This is totally AU.

Feedback: Yes please. This is a story that is loosely based on some events that have happened in my own life and something that I have been thinking about lately. I hope that you like it but if you don't, please let me know so that I can stop writing it. LOL!

Updates: I will try and update the story weekly.

When Blue Meets Green

Chapter 1

Life is something that a lot of people take for granted and Willow Rosenberg is one of these people. All she does is work ever since she opened up her graphic design business last year. Butterfly Affect was started in the home office of a 22 year old woman's home where she lived with her best friend Buffy Summers. After the business started to become bigger than just one little office, Willow decided that it was time that she expanded it into a full fledged office. For months Willow looked around to try and find a building that would both fit her needs and her budget. Finally she found it. The perfect place. It was 1300 square feet and was already set of to be used for this type of business considering that it used to be a computer store. The front door was in the middle of the space with a counter to the left of it and open space to the right. There was a 2 stale bathroom in the back right and a very large office across from that. It was perfectly set up to to put a few desks in the open space as well as all the printing equipment behind the counter.

As Willow sat behind her red oak stained desk, she was very diligently working on the project that needed some last minute changes before her meeting at 2:00.

“Ms. Rosenberg?” The voice of her assistant came from the doorway of Willow's office.

“Yeah?” Willow said without looking up from the screen.

“You wanted me to let you know when it was 1:00.” Ashlen said as she walked over to Willow's desk and handed her a file.

“Oh ok. I will just finish up here with the last few changes. Can you get together the rest of the McMillan file for me?”

“Yeah sure thing. I will leave it behind the front counter for you.” Ashlen said.

“Thank you so much.” Willow said as Ashlen started to walk out of her office. “Hey, before you leave I just wanted to let you know that you have been such a great help this last year. I never would have been able to make it through it without you.” Willow said as she got up from her desk and made her way over to Ashlen.

“It is my pleasure Ms. Rosen...”

“Please call me Willow. You have worked her for a year now and I think that it is time that you drop the formalities.” Willow said.

“Ok Willow!” Ashlen said as she headed back to her desk.

Willow went back to her desk and finished up the last few things, grabbed the rest of the project and went back to her office. She started to arrange the portfolio so that she could show everything to them when she got there.

“Can I help you?” Ashlen said to a blond woman that came walking in.

“Yes. My name is Tara Maclay and I am here to see Willow Rosenberg about the McMillan project.” The blond said as she walked over to Ashlen's desk.

“Ok. Let me just see if she is ready for you.” Ashlen said as she motioned for Tara to sit down in the chairs that were to the right of her desk.

“Willow.” Ashlen said into the intercom.

“Yes Ashlen.” Willow said as she hit the button on her phone.

“Someone on the McMillan project is here.”

“Ok, I am all set. Could you please show them in?” Willow said as she put on her suit jacket.

“Hi Mrs. Rosenberg, my name is Tara Maclay.” Tara said as she walked into Willow's office and extended her hand to Willow.

“Very nice to meet you Mrs. Maclay but please call me Willow.” Willow said as she shook Tara's hand.

“Very nice to meet you too Willow. Mrs. Maclay is my mom for the record so call me Tara.” Tara said as she was still holding onto Willow's hand. There was something about this beautiful redhead that made Tara just want to hold onto her hand forever.

“Ok. So Tara, did you want to see what we came up with?” Willow said as she looked down at her hand that was still being held my Tara.

“Yes of course.”

“Then I am going to need my hand back.” Willow said as she looked at Tara.

“Oh.” Tara said as she pulled her hand from Willow's. “I am so sorry.” Tara started to blush as her hair fell onto her face and she looked down at the ground.

“It's ok.” Willow said as she bent down and connected her eyes with Tara's. Tara looked up and started to smile.

Willow walked her over to the table that displayed all of the project for Tara to look at. Page by page, Tara went through the portfolio.

“This is fantastic. Exactly what we were looking for.”

“I am glad.”

“So when do you think that you can have it done by?” Tara asked as she looked up from the portfolio and at Willow.

“Well when do you need it?”

“As soon as possible. We want to start the new ad campaign next week. Do you think that you can have it done by then?”

“Yeah I don't see why not. I can have it to you by Monday morning.”

“Ok good. Monday morning would be great. Do you think that you could bring it by my office Monday so that we can go over it with my boss?”

“Yes.”

“So here is my card. If you could just meet me there around 9 that would be great.”

“9 it is. I will see you Monday.” Willow said as Tara grabbed her coat and headed out of Willow's office.

As Tara walked out, Willow couldn't help but watch her. 'Wow. She is a so hot.' Willow thought to herself but then started to shake her head. 'You need to stop thinking about her like that. This is business and you need to keep it that way Willow.' Willow thought as she just stood in the doorway to her office staring out the front window.

“Willow.” Ashlen said trying to get the attention of her boss but there was no response. Willow continued to look out the window watching Tara make her way across the street to her car. “Willow, earth to Willow.” Ashlen said as she walked up to Willow and waved her hand in front of her face.

“Huh?” Willow said as she snapped back to reality.

“Are you okay?” Ashlen asked as she looked out the window to try and see what it was that Willow was looking at.

“Yeah sorry. Just off in a different world.” Willow said as she turned around and headed back into her office.

“What were you staring at anyway?” Ashlen asked as she also walked into Willow's office and sat down in the chair across from Willow's desk.

“What? Nothing.” Willow said as she sat down behind her desk.

“If you say so.” Ashlen said as she got up from the chair and went back to her desk.

Even though Willow tried very hard to not think about the beautiful blond that left her office a little while ago, she can't. There was something about her that she found just so appealing. But deep down she knew that she had to keep the relationship between them one of business or that invisible line is going to become very hazy. That was something that Willow wasn't prepared to let happen. She needed to only interact with Tara through the business and keep the rest at arms length. That was going to be hard but it was what Willow knew she needed to do.

Willow's always struck me as the type who would become a total workaholic given the opportunity. This is an interesting start. I like the idea of Willow as a graphic designer. Makes for some interesting story options.

I got bitten by a drunk lesbian! Does that mean I'll turn into one?

I never get tired of W/T meeting stories, and you have gotten a great start on this one.

Tara: My heart doesn't stutter.

Tara: Willow, I got so lost.

Willow: I found you. I will always find you.

Chapter 2

Chapter 2

Monday morning, Willow went into the office early to make sure that everything was done for her meeting at 9. Once everything was together, she headed outside to hail a cab to go meet with Tara.

“So where to lady?” The cab driver asked as Willow got in the cab.

“Oh shit. Hold on I need to find the card that she gave me.” Willow said as she frantically rummage through her briefcase to find Tara's business card. “Here it is. 114 Main street.” Willow said to the driver.

“Sure thing.” He said as she took off toward their destination.

About 10 minutes later, they arrived at Tara's office. “Thanks!” Willow said as she stepped out of th cab and handed the money to the driver.

Willow looked up at the 10 story building, all she could do was look in shock. 'All this time I have lived here and I have never been in this building.' Willow thought to herself as she started to make her way to the front doors of the building.

“Good morning ma'am.” The lady behind the receptionist desk said as Willow approached her.

“Good morning. I have an appointment Tara Maclay.”

“Ok let me call her and see if she is available. If you just want to take a seat.” She said as she motioned toward a group of chairs to the left of her desk. “Ms. Maclay, your first appointment is here.” She said as she picked up the phone. “Ok.” She said as she hung it up.

She looked over at Willow who was now sitting in one of the chairs, going through her briefcase.

“Ma'am?”

“Yes?”

“She is ready for you. Just go to the elevators and go up to the 10th floor. Make a left once you get off the elevator and Ms. Maclay's office is going to be the last door on your left.” She said as she got up from her chair and pointed toward the elevators.

“Thank you very much.” Willow said as she grabbed her things and made her way to the elevators.

As Willow walked out of the elevator and made her way to Tara's office, she started to get a little nervous. But why? What was it about this woman that made her so nervous? 'Oh yeah...she is sexy.' Willow thought to herself as she made her way down the long hallway. She finally made it to the last door. It was opened and there was Tara. She was sitting behind her desk talking on the phone and typing on the computer keyboard. She looked so beautiful but Willow needed to stop thinking about her like that. Willow stepped back out of the doorway of her office and leaned up against the wall.

'Breath Rosenberg. You can do this. You can keep the fact that she is a very sexy, smart and amazing woman out of the picture and keep it business.' Willow thought to herself as she just leaned against the wall and tried to regain control. After a few minutes, Willow walked back into the doorway and knocked on the door.

Tara looked up from the computer screen and looked right into the green eyes of Willow. Not even stopping her conversation on the phone, she waved Willow into her office. Willow walked in and sat down in the chair across from Tara's desk.

“Ok just tell him that if he doesn't have it done by the end of the day then he can clean out his desk when he leaves.” Tara said into the phone as she hung it up. She looked up at Willow who was now just fidgeting in her seat.

“Sorry about that Willow. My attention is all yours now.” Tara said push the keyboard in under the desk and placed her arms on the desk.

“It's ok. I understand that you have a job to do so you have nothing to be sorry about.” Willow said as she smiled. Realizing that Tara was smiling back at her she got a serious look on her face and reached for her briefcase. “So her everything is.” Willow said as she pulled the project out of her briefcase and placed it on Tara's desk.

“Ok. If you just want to bring everything into the conference room that would be great.” Tara said as the expression on her face showed the fact that she was a little disappointed that Willow was staying so serious.

The two made their way into the conference room and as Willow set everything up, Tara went over to the phone.

“Hey Bailey, tell Mike that everything is ready if he wants to come into conference room 2 now he can see what they have come up with.” Tara said and then hung up the phone.

Tara walked back over to where Willow was standing. She got next to her and leaned into her ear. “Are you always this serious?”

“Pardon me?” Willow said as she stopped what she was doing and looked over at Tara.

“Are you always this serious about things?”

“I am serious when it comes to business yes.” Willow said as she took a step away from Tara. “I have to.”

“No you don't.” Tara said as the door to the conference room opened and a man walked in. “Mike, this is Willow Rosenberg and she is the owner of Butterfly Affect.”

“Well hello Mrs. Rosenberg. I hear that you have something to show us?” Mike said.

“Yes I do. I have completed the project as you requested if you want to take a look at it.” Willow said.

“I don't mind if I do.” He said as walked over to where Willow had laid out the project on the table. He took a look at it and then looked over at Willow. “Who said that this was what we wanted?”

“Steve, we went over this about a month ago. When you and I started talking about what we wanted for the advertisement campaign, you said that this was what you wanted.” Tara said as took a step toward Willow as in an attempt to shield her from the rage of Mike.

“I never told you that I wanted this. The whole things needs to be redone and I need it by the end of the week.” Mike said as he flung all the papers onto the floor.

“You have got to be joking.” Tara said as she looked at Mike.

“Do I look like I'm joking? This shit will not work at all. Let me know when they have it done so that I can take a look at it.” Mike said as he headed toward the door.

“But Mike...” Tara tried to say but Mike just walked out of the office.

Tara looked over at Willow and tried to speak but just didn't know what to say that would make the situation any better.

“I should get back to the office and start redoing this.” Willow said as she bent down and started to pick up all the papers from the floor.

“I am so sorry about him Willow. He was out of line.” Tara said as she bent down to help Willow.

“You have nothing to be sorry about. If he didn't like then he didn't like it. I just need to make it right so that he does like it.”

“But he had no right to get like that.” Tara said as she placed her hand on Willow's.

“I can't do this.” Willow said as she stood up.

“Can't do what exactly?” Tara asked as she stood up and looked into Willow's eyes.

“Take this anywhere but business.”

“I am not sure that I know what you mean.”

“Tara, I think that you are a great person and very attractive but we can't be anything but business contacts. I am sorry.” Willow said as she looked down at the floor.

“No Willow, you have nothing to be sorry about. I understand that you have to keep things between us just professional. I totally respect that.” Tara said as she handed Willow the papers that she picked up from the floor. “Let me give you all the notes that I have from the meeting that I had with Mike and maybe you can get a better idea of what it is that he wants.” Tara said as she walked out of the room and headed back to her office.

A few minutes later, she came back with a notepad and handed it to Willow. “Here is what I have. Let me know if there is anything else that I can help you with so that you can finish it.” Tara said.

“Ok I will.” Willow said as Tara started to walk back out of the room. Willow grabbed her hand and stopped her. “Tara, I am so sorry. I didn't mean to upset you.”

“You didn't upset me at all.”

“I have just been burned before by getting involved with someone that I was doing work for and I really respect who you are so I don't want that to happen.” Willow said all in one breath.

“Did you say all that in one breath?” Tara said as she started to laugh.

“Yeah sorry. I have a tendency to babble when I get nervous.” Willow said as she turned around and went to go grab her briefcase.

“You have no reason to be nervous. I understand where you are coming from. I do mean what I said. If there is anything that I can do to help you, please let me know.” Tara said.

“Thank you so much.”

“It's my pleasure.” Tara said as she just smiled at Willow.

Mike has the potential to be a problem, but I do like how they're keeping it professional for now. I wonder if Tara was having the same thoughts when she put her hand over Willow's, or if she only saw it as a friendly gesture. At any rate, obviously they both already know that the attraction is there. Thanks for the update.

Chapter 3

Postby glendaofoz2004 » Fri Dec 03, 2004 1:37 pm

Chapter 3

As Willow made her way down the hall all that Tara could do was watch. She stood in the doorway of her office and watched the beautiful, smart, brave and professional redhead walk down the long hallway to the elevators. Was she really trying to flirt with her or was it simply innocent and friendly gestures? Yes, Tara found her attractive but she also respected the fact that she wanted to keep things between them professional.

'But I did like the feeling I got when I touched her hand.' Tara thought to herself as Willow got out of sight.

Tara walked into her office and went back to work. She had a lot of work to get done before she left for the day but she couldn't get out of her head what Mike had said to Willow in the conference room. Tara looked at the clock on her desk and saw that it was almost noon. Maybe some lunch would calm her down and then she could get her work done. She grabbed her briefcase and coat then headed out to lunch.

“Hey Bianca, I am going to grab a bite to eat. I should be back in about an hour.” Tara said as she walked past the receptionist's desk and walked out the front doors.

Once Tara was back from lunch, she once again tried to get her work done but all that she could still think about was Mike. She picked up the phone and buzzed Mike's office.

“Mike do you have some time to go over the project so that I can let Butterfly Affect know what it is that you want?” Tara said into the intercom.

“Not right now but maybe tomorrow we can go over it.” Mike said.

“But tomorrow is Saturday.”

“Yeah and your point is?”

“Well, you told Willow that she had to have it done by Monday so I would like to get it all cleared up today so that I can get back to her as soon as possible.”

“Well, that isn't my fault now is it? I have meetings all day today so I am not going to be able to sit down and go over it with you yet again. As far as I am concerned, we went over everything that you needed to know so it is your fault that it wasn't done correctly. Go back over your notes and get it right or it's your job.” Mike said as he hit the button and hung up on Tara.

Tara sat there just staring at the phone for a few seconds before she was able to grasp what it was that Mike said to her. Finally, she got up from her desk and made her way down the hall to Mike's office. The door was closed but she didn't knock. She just opened the door and walked in.

“Mike.” Tara said as she walked in and stood in front of his desk where he was sitting. “I understand that the project may not have been what you wanted but as far as I am concerned it was what we talked about. I took all the things that we talked about and relayed them to the design company. I don't appreciate being treated like that.”

“Like what?”

“The way that you talked to me as well as Willow is both unprofessional and unnecessary. All that you had to say was that it wasn't what you wanted it to be and that some changes needed to be made to it.”

“I am sorry that you feel that way Tara but I wasn't aware that it was my job to fix the mistakes that you make. You were hired her to do a job and if you don't start doing it then you may want to look for a new job. If this project doesn't get fixed by Monday both you and Willow can find other places of employment.” Mike said as she went to go pick up the phone but as his hand grabbed the receiver, Tara placed her hand over his and pushed it back down onto the base.

“I will get this project done and have it to you Monday. As far as my job after that is concerned, you can consider this my 2 week notice.” Tara said as she let go of his hand and walked out of his office.

Tara went back to her office just as the phone rang. Once again, Tara started to yell at the person on the other end but this time there was no one stopping her from having it out with them. Willow wasn't there to break up the moment. After about 15 minutes of going back and forth on the phone, Tara had had enough. “Avery, I am not going to continue to have this conversation. Tell him to get his ass down to my office now.” Tara said as she slammed the phone down, put her elbows on her desk and put her face in her hands.

“Are you alright?” A very sweet voice came from in front of Tara.

Tara looked up and noticed that it was Willow. She was standing in the doorway to her office holding a leather portfolio case and the notepad that Tara had given her with her notes on it. “Huh?” Tara said as she looked straight into the eyes of Willow.

“Are you alright?” Willow asked again with great concern in her voice.

“Not really but I will be.” Tara said as she got up from her chair and walked over to the file cabinet.

“I know that I have just meet you but I know enough about you to tell when you are upset. Did something happen?” Willow said as she took a few steps toward Tara.

“Just the same old shit that I deal with everyday. I guess it is just starting to get to me more and more lately.” Tara said as she felt a hand on her shoulder. She looked over and saw that it was Willow's hand. “So what can I do for you Willow?” Tara said as she pulled away and walked back over to her desk and sat down.

“I just wanted to come show you what I came up with so far. I looked at your notes and I think that I may have come up with something that Mike will like.” Willow said as reached into the portfolio and placed what she had done on Tara's desk.

“This is great.” Tara said as she looked at the prints with the first smile on her face that Willow had seen since she walked into her office.

“There is that smile that I saw the first time I saw you.” Willow said as she sat down in the chair across from Tara's desk.

“You have made a really shitty day a lot better. Thank you.” Tara said as she looked over at Willow who was also smiling.

“Well, I will leave these here with you as well as your notepad. If he likes them, I will start printing them up and have them for him first thing Monday morning. If he doesn't like them, give me a call. I should be in the office till about 7 tonight and I will also be in there tomorrow around 10 so just let me know.” Willow said as she placed the notepad on Tara's desk and headed towards the door.

“I will go show these to him right now and let you know as soon as possible.” Tara said as she got up from her chair and followed Willow out. “Hey Willow?”

“Yeah” Willow said as she stopped walking and turned around to face Tara.

“I just wanted to apologize again for the things that Mike said to you this morning. Please don't think that all of us here are like that cause we're not.”

“Oh heavens no. I know better than to let the actions of one person affect my thoughts of other people.” Willow said as she gave Tara a half smile. “Plus, he is a man so it is only natural for him to act like an asshole.” Willow laughed out and gave Tara a wink.

Tara just smiled and nodded. Willow continued down the hallway and to the elevators as Tara made her way to Mike's office.

Chapter 4

Postby glendaofoz2004 » Fri Dec 03, 2004 7:18 pm

Chapter 4

Later that day, Willow was working on another project when the phone rang. Ashlen had already left for the day so Willow ran out to her desk her answer it.

“Hello, Butterfly Affect.” Willow said as she picked up the receiver.

“Willow?” Tara said.

“Yeah!”

“It's Tara.”

“Oh hi Tara. So what did Mike think of the new prints?”

“Yeah he did. He said that it was ok for you to print them out.” Tara said as she got a smile on his face.

“Thank god.” Willow said as she let out a little laugh.

“Was that a laugh I heard?” Tara asked.

“Why yes it was. I think that it was more of a laugh of relief that I didn't have to do this damn thing over again.”

“Yeah well I am glad too that he liked it cause if he hadn't, I probably would have lost my job due to the nasty words that I would have had for him.”

“Well I wouldn't want you to lose your job because of me.”

“It wouldn't of been because of you. Mike has done a lot of things lately that have really gotten on my nerves and I think that what he did to you was just the last straw.”

“That makes me feel a little better that it's not just me that he does that to.”

“Yeah trust me, it isn't just you. He treats everyone like that. Even me.” Tara said as she got a sad look on her face and the tone in her voice changed. “Well, I should let you get back to work. I just wanted to give you a call and let you know what Mike said. Give me a call when you get everything done and I can come pick it up.”

“I sure will. You have a good night Tara and don't let that asshole bother you ok?”

“Ok. I will try not to. Have a good night too Willow.” Tara said as she hung up the phone.

As Tara hung up the phone, she realized that this could get really bad. She saw something in Willow that she had never seen before. For the first time in her life, she felt as if someone understood her and got her. But she just met her. How can Willow already know that much about her?

“I have to respect what Willow wants and not let this go any farther.” Tara said as she pulled in her driveway and turned off the car. “But she is just so different from anyone that I have ever met.” Tara said as she opened the car door.

“Aunt Tara!” A little girl about 6 years old with blond pigtails in her hair said as she came running towards Tara with her arms spread open.

“Kirsten!” Tara said as she scooped the girl up in her arms and gave her a hug. “What are you doing her? Where is your mom?”

“Mom is inside. She needed to come get that painting that she ordered so that she can bring it to grandma's house tonight.” The little girl said as she gave Tara a kiss.

“Well let's go inside and see if she found it.” Tara said as she carried the little girl inside the house. “Taylor!” Tara yelled out as she and Kirsten walked in the front door.

“Up here Tara.” Taylor yelled from upstairs in the office. “I am trying to find that picture that I ordered from you for mom. Do you know where it's at?”

“It's down here in the living room.” Tara said as she put Kirsten down on the couch and walked over to the corner of the room where there was a pile of boxes with her name on the sides.

“Geez, what else did you order for crying out loud?” Taylor said as she came down the stairs and saw Tara looking through the boxes.

“I have some Christmas presents as well as a few things for work.” Tara said as she opened the last box. “Here it is!”

“Great.” Taylor said as she took the picture from Tara. “So...” She said as she tried to look around Tara and take a peak into the rest of the boxes. “Anything in there for me?”

“None of your business,” Tara said as she stepped in front of Taylor, crossed her arms on her chest and stared at her. “Nosey rosey!” Tara said as she just stared to shake her head and looked over at Kirsten.

“Mom, you don't want to spoil the surprise do you?”

“I guess not.” Taylor said as she looked over at Kirsten and smiled at her. “So are you ready to go baby? We need to get over to grandma's by 7.” She said as she looked down at her watch. “And it's almost that time now. Let's go.”

“Ok mommy.” Kirsten jumped off the couch and ran over to Tara to give her a kiss and hug goodbye. “Bye Aunt Tara.”

“Bye pumpkin. Tell grandma that I said hi.”

“Ok!” Kirsten said as she ran out the front door.

“So are we still on for dinner tomorrow?” Taylor said as she gave Tara a hug goodbye.

“Yeah. I'll meet you there at 5.”

“Sounds good. See ya!” Taylor said as she walked out to the car and took off.

The next morning, Tara had to go into the office for a few hours before she met Taylor for dinner. As she got into her office, her direct extension rang.

“Tara Maclay.” Tara said as she picked up the receiver.

“Tara, it's Willow. I just wanted to let you know that I got everything done.”

“Oh wow. That was fast.”

“Yeah I just started working on it and couldn't stop.”

“Workaholic are we?” Tara asked as she started to laugh.

“No just sometimes I get in moods where I want to get everything done and I can't stop until it's done.”

“That's good, I guess.” Tara laughed. “I am actually going to be around your office later so I can pick everything up. If you will still be there.”

“I am actually at home right now but I live just down the street from my office if you want to come pick it up here?” Willow said as she got a huge smile on her face.

“I can do that if it's alright with you or I can just wait until Monday morning and pick them up then.”

“No it's fine. You can come here. I live at 1334 Roswell Lane.”

“Great. 4:00 ok?” Tara asked.

“Yeah!”

“Then I will see you then.” Willow asked as she hung up the phone.

Tara just stood there with the phone in her hand. She couldn't believe that she was going to be going over Willow's house. Finally, Tara snapped out of her daze and hung up the phone. Tara sat down at her desk and did a little bit of work before she headed back home. Tara stopped at the mailbox so that she could grab the mail before she headed in to take a shower. Once inside the house, she started to thumb through the mail and saw a letter from her mom. She opened it as she threw her briefcase on the table by the door and made her way upstairs.

“My mom is so cool.” Tara said to herself as she finished reading the letter.

The letter was about Christmas. Her mom wanted to let her know that they would be having dinner on Christmas Eve at around 6 and then afterwards they were going to let everyone open up one gift before they headed off to Midnight Mass. Then they would open the rest of the presents once everyone got there Christmas morning followed by dinner or lunch however you want to look at it.

This was Tara's favorite time of the year. She loved to be able to first of all see her family since she doesn't get a chance to see them very often. Her family, well her mom and brother, live in Iowa while Tara is in California. Tara moved her about 7 years ago after she graduated from high school. She was offered a job from a huge advertising firm her and jumped at the chance to get out of the small town and move to the big city of San Francisco. After a year of living there, she got transferred to their firm here in Sunnydale. She also loves this time of year cause she likes to buy presents for her friends and family.

Once Tara was out of the shower, it was now time to figure out what she was going to wear. Not only was she going to have dinner with Taylor, but she was also going over to Willow's house. After going through every thing in her closet, she decided to wear her black pants and a nice purple v-neck top that she loved. She didn't want to wear anything to reveling cause she didn't want Willow to think that she was trying to look nice for her. Even though that was exactly was she was trying to do.

Tara got dressed and then headed over to Willow's. She made her way her street and she started to get nervous as she got closer to Willow's. “Maclay, relax. You are just going over to get the project. You are trying to make a friend...that's it.” Tara said to herself as she pulled up to Willow's house. “Ok, there it is.” Tara said as she pulled into the driveway.

'Breath.' Tara thought to herself as she got out of the car and made her way up the sidewalk to the front door. She rang the doorbell and then began fixing her shirt. The door open and there stood the most amazing woman that Tara had ever seen. Tara's jaw dropped when she saw Willow. She was in a simply pair of jeans and a tank top but looked beautiful.

“Tara.” Willow said as she opened the door and motioned for her to come in.

“Hi!” Was all that Tara could say as she stepped into the house, brushing against Willow's hand with hers.

Just with that simply touch, Tara could feel a shock of electricity flow all the way through her body. There was something about this woman that made Tara's heart beat faster and slower at the same time. But she knew that she couldn't go there. She had to keep this a business relationship. But why? Couldn't they become friends?

“Can I get you something to drink? Water? Pop? Coffee?” Willow said as she and Tara walked into the living room.

“No I am fine, thanks!” Tara said as she continued to stare at Willow, taking in every inch of her body.

“Thanks for coming and getting everything. You sure saved me a trip.”

“No trouble at all. I was in the neighborhood anyway to have dinner with a friend of mine.”

“Oh I am sorry. Then I shouldn't keep you. Let me just go get the stuff so that you won't be late.” Willow said as she walked into the den and grabbed a box.

“It's ok. I don't have to meet her until 5 so I have some time.” Tara said in an attempt to let Willow know that she didn't want to leave right away. Tara never wanted to leave that house ever again. There was a part of her that felt at home there. Willow, with the box in her hands, smiled at Tara.

'Does that mean that she understands that I don't want to leave? Does that mean that she doesn't want me to leave?' Tara thought to herself.

Willow put the box by the front door so that Tara could grab it when she was ready to leave.

“So what all did Mike have to say about the changes I made to the prints?” Willow asked trying to break the tension that she could feel building around them.

“Well he just said that he really liked it. It was exactly what he was looking for.”

Willow just started to laugh.

“What's so funny?” Tara asked.

“I only made about 3 changes to it so it's just funny that he would say that it was exactly what he wanted.” Willow said as she sat down on the couch.

“That's a man for you.” Tara said as she sat down next to Willow.

“That's why I don't get involved with them.” Willow said very quietly, hoping that Tara wouldn't hear her...but she did.

'So she does like girls. I knew it.' Tara thought to herself as she just smiled at Willow.

They just sat there and talked for about 30 minutes before Tara realized what time it was. “Oh shit. I better get going. Taylor will kill me if I am late.” Tara said as she got up from the couch.

“I hope not!” Willow said as she covered her mouth realizing that she had said it out loud and Tara heard her. But Tara didn't respond to it. She just gave Willow her half smile and headed toward the front door.

“Thanks again for getting this done so quickly. I will give you a call on Monday and let you know if there is anything else that we need for the ad campaign.”

“Sounds good. Have a great dinner and night. Talk to you on Monday.” Willow said as she walked to the front door and opened it for Tara.

Chapter 5

Postby glendaofoz2004 » Sat Dec 04, 2004 7:05 pm

Chapter 5

Tara drove to the restaurant but the whole time all that she could think about was how good Willow looked. She couldn't get the smile off of her face. As Tara walked in, she noticed that Taylor was already there and at a table. Tara walked over to the table, took her coat off and sat down.

“Hi!” Taylor said as Tara sat down.

“Hey.” Tara said still with a huge smile on her face.

“What gives?” Taylor asked as she just stared at Tara.

“Huh?”

“What are you so happy about? You haven't taken that smile off your face since you walked in the door.”

“Nothing. Can't I just be happy for no reason?”

“NO!” Taylor yelled a little too loud and the table behind then both turned to look. “So tell me who is she?”

“Who is who?” Tara asked trying to play dumb.

“Who is the woman that is making you smile like that?”

“I don't know what you are talking about. Can we just eat please?”

“Yeah but don't you think that I am just dropping this. Cause I'm not.” Taylor said as Tara pulled the menu in front of her and just stared at it.

A few minutes later the waitress came over to the table and they ordered. The two just chit chatted through the meal and then had some dessert. Once they were done, Taylor was ready to start up the conversation about why she was so happy again.

“So...” Taylor said stretching out the word way longer than it was supposed to be.

“So what?”

“Come on Tara. Why are you so damn happy?”

“Fine I will tell you but just so that you will leave me alone.” Tara said as she re-adjusted herself in her chair. “Last week I met this woman...”

“I knew it!” Taylor interrupted Tara with.

“Can I finish please?”

“Yeah sorry, go ahead.”

“She owns that graphic design company in town, Butterfly Affect. She was hired by Mike to do the McMillan ad campaign.” Tara continued.

“Wait...I am confused. What does she have to do with why you are so happy?”

Tara just gave her that 'would you stop' look. Taylor said that she was sorry again and told Tara to continue.

“She is so beautiful, smart, and amazing Taylor. But...” Tara stopped.

“But what? What is the problem? She sounds great.”

“She said that she wants to just keep it professional. She has gotten burnt in the past with getting involved with people that she is doing work for and it ended badly.”

“Well, what about at least being friends?”

“I really want that but I just wanted to get through this project and then I would see what happened after that. So I will have to just wait and see what happens after Monday.” Tara said as the smile on her face got a little smaller, still there but not as big.

Once they were done talking, they left the restaurant. Tara and Taylor said their goodbyes and went home. As Tara drove home, she started to think about Willow.

“I hope at least her and I can be friends if she doesn't want to have a relationship with me.” Tara said as she pulled up in her driveway.

Monday couldn't come soon enough for she couldn't wait to see Willow and get a chance to talk to her. Tara got off to work early this morning so that she could finish up on one of her projects before Mike got in.

“Ms. Maclay.” The receptionist said as Tara walked in the front door. “You have some messages already.”

“Really but it's not even 8 yet!” Tara said in surprise as she walked over to the desk.

“Yeah, a Ms. Rosenberg called about 10 minutes ago and she just wanted you to call her when you got a chance. Also, Mike called to let you know that he wouldn't be in today but that the McMillan project needs to be submitted this afternoon. He wanted you to call him when you got in so that he could go over the final details with you.”

“Thanks Bianca.” Tara said as she grabbed the messages from her and headed to her office.

Tara got to her office, put down her briefcase, took off her coat and then sat down to call Mike. There was no answer but she left him a message to call her back whenever he got a chance. Tara then called Willow back.

“Butterfly Affect, Ashlen speaking how may I help you?” Ashlen said as she picked up the phone.

“Can I please speak with Willow?”

“Yeah, may I ask who's calling?”

“Tara Maclay from Devine Advertising.”

“Ok just one moment.” Ashlen said as she put Tara on hold.

As few minutes later, Willow picked up the phone. “Good morning Tara.”

“Good morning. So what made you call so early this fine morning?”

“I just wanted to make sure that everything was ok with the project cause I remembered you saying something about the presentation being today.”

“Yeah it is actually this afternoon. As far as I know, everything is fine with it. Mike isn't in today but he had a chance to look in over this weekend. I called and left him a message so I am just waiting for him to call me back about what to do next.”

“Well that's good. Just let me know if anything is wrong and needs to be fixed before you meeting.”

“Sure will.” Tara said as she took a deep sigh into the phone.

“Are you ok?” Willow said hearing Tara sigh.

“I actually wanted to talk to you about something that I have been thinking about all weekend. Do you think that you and I could meet for dinner or something tonight?”

“Yeah I don't see why not but has something happened?”

“No not at all. Nothing like that.”

“Ok good. What time did you want to meet?”

“Well, what time do you work till?”

“Usually till around 6 or so.”

“Then how does 7 sound?”

“Perfect. How about that new Italian place?”

“That was exactly what I was going to say.” Tara said as they both started to laugh.

“Two great minds think alike!” Willow said as she got a huge smile on her face.

“Yeah. Well I will let you get back to work but I will see you tonight.” Tara said.

“Ok!” Willow said as they both hung up the phone.

Chapter 6

Postby glendaofoz2004 » Sun Dec 05, 2004 6:36 pm

Chapter 6

Tara tried to make it through the day but she wasn't having much luck. She just keep thinking about how she was going to tell Willow what she wanted to say. How was she going to get across to her, without sounding like a total idiot, that she wanted to be more than just friends with her but only if she wanted that too. Even though Tara wanted to be more with Willow, she wasn't going to jeopardize the chance to at least have a friendship with her. 'I just need to play it safe with her.' Tara thought to herself as she just stared at the computer screen.

“I need to find out if she even wants to be friends with me and just go from there.” Tara said as she looked at the clock on her desk and realized that it was almost 12.

“Tara, they are waiting for you in the conference room.” Tara assistant Bailey said as she leaned into her office.

“Ok. Be there in a minute.” Tara said as she snapped out of her daze and got up from her desk. She grabbed the portfolio and headed into the conference room.

As Tara made her way in the conference room, she took at deep breathe and looked around. There were 4 other people in the room besides myself and Bailey. She took one last breathe before she made her way over the the head of the table. Everyone introduced themselves to Tara and then started to presentation.

“Good afternoon ladies and gentlemen. I am very excited to present to you what we have come up with for you ad campaign.” Tara started as she took a breathe. “We wanted to make it something that was both exciting and calming at the same time. To do this, we look to the best graphic design company in the area, in my opinion, Butterfly Affect. Without further ado, here we go.” Tara said as she pulled the covers from the ad prints to show everyone what they had come up with.

Tara nodded at Bailey, who then turned on a radio that was in the corner of the room. She then continued with the presentation. About 25 minutes later, Tara had finished the presentation. There was nothing but 'wows' and smiles from everyone in the room.

“This is really great.” Mr. McMillan said.

“I am glad that you like it.” Tara said as she for the first time all day, started to relax.

“I would love to be able to meet the people over at Butterfly Affect, if you could arrange that for me?” He said.

“Yeah I sure can. Give me a few minutes and I will go give them a call.”

“Of course. Take your time.” He said as Tara walked out of the room and to her office.

“Butterfly Affect.” Ashlen said as she answered the phone.

“Willow please.”

“Yes one moment Ms. Maclay.” Ashlen said as she put Tara on hold. “Willow, it's Tara.” Ashlen buzzed into Willow's office with.

“Ok thanks Ashlen.” Willow said as she picked up the phone. “Tara, hi!”

“Hi Willow.”

“How did the meeting go?”

“Actually, it is still going on. That is why I am calling.”

“Huh?”

“They would like to meet you.”

“Why?”

“Cause I told them that you are the best graphic design company in the area and they loved your prints. They wanted to get a better idea of who you came up with what you did.”

“When?” Willow said still shocked that they wanted to meet her.

“Now if you can.”

“Yeah I guess I can. I will be there as soon as I can.”

“Ok see you in a little bit.” Tara said as they hung up the phone and she made her way back into the conference room. “Good news. The owner is going to come over now. Her name is Willow Rosenberg.”

“Good. Maybe when she gets here, we can go get some lunch?” He said.

“Yeah that's fine with me.”

They all sat there talking until Willow got there. About 15 minutes later, Willow came walking into the conference room.

“Willow, Thanks for coming.” Tara said as she got up from her chair and walked toward Willow. “This is Mr. McMillan.” She said as she pointed to the man sitting down at the other end of the table.

“Hello Mr. McMillan.” Willow said as she walked over to him to shake his hand.

“Thanks again for coming. I just wanted to let you know how much I loved the prints. They are the best that I have even seen and I have been dealing with advertising agencies for almost 20 years.”

“Thank you very much. I am so glad that you like it.”

“I like it so much that I have a proposition to make for both you and Tara.” He said as Tara and Willow just looked at each other.

“What kind of proposition?” Willow asked then looking at Mr. McMillan.

“I would like to make both your companies our exclusive advertising and graphic companies.

“What?” Willow said looking at Tara.

“Are you serious Mr. McMillan?”

“Yes I am always serious when it comes to business.”

Chapter 7

Postby glendaofoz2004 » Mon Dec 06, 2004 10:23 pm

Chapter 7

Tara and Willow just stood there staring at each other, not knowing really how to respond to what Mr. McMillan had just said. The room was silent. Just emerald meeting blue. That was until Mr. McMillan broke the silence.

“So what'da say?” Mr McMillan asked looking back and forth from Willow and Tara.

“Yes!” Both of them said in unison.

“Great.” He said as he got up from the table. “How bout we all go get some lunch now. We can finish talking about this there.”

“Sounds good to me.” Willow said as she looked over at Tara who just nodded.

“Then let's go.” Mr. McMillan said as he led everyone out of the conference room and to the elevators. “My limo is waiting for us downstairs.

Everyone pilled into the limo and headed off to the restaurant. About an hour later, the limo pulled up to Tara's office building.

“We have to get going now but I look forward to doing lots more business with the two of you. Until then, take care both of you.” Mr. McMillan said as Tara and Willow each shock his hand and made their way out of the limo. Tara and Willow walked into the building and back up to Tara's office.

“Did he really just offer us all the advertising business of the largest athletic company in California?” Tara asked.

“Yeah I think that he did.”

“Holy Shit. Mike is going to freak out when he hears this.” Tara said as she went to go to her desk and pick up the phone but she felt a hand on hers.

“Wait.” Willow said as Tara stopped and turned to face Willow.

“Huh?”

“I just want to thank you so much. You have no idea what this means to me and to my business.” Willow said as she leaned into Tara and gave her a big hug. “I will never be able to thank you enough.”

“You have nothing to thank me for. I just told him the truth. The rest was all your doing. You deserve this so you don't have to thank me at all.”

“But thanks anyway.”

“It was my pleasure.” Tara said as she gave Willow a crooked smile.

Willow smiled back as she watched Tara walked over to her desk and pick up the phone. Willow just stood there and tried to figure out what she was going to do next. Was she leading her on? Did she want to have more with Tara than just a friendship? Did Tara want to have more with her than just a friendship? These were all the questions that were running through Willow's mind as she waited for Tara to finish on the phone. About 5 minutes later, Tara hung up the phone and got a frown on her face.

“Tara? Are you alright?” Willow asked as she walked over to Tara.

“No.” Tara said as she looked down at the floor.

“What happened?”

“Mike just yelled at me. He said that I had no right to get you involved in the presentation. It was something that was to stay within this company. I never should have let Mr. McMillan know that you were the one that did the prints.”

“What did he think that Mr. McMillan wouldn't find out that you guys don't have to capabilities to do prints like that?”

“I don't know. All that I do know is that I can't deal with this anymore.”

“What do you mean?” Willow asked as she took Tara's hands in hers.

“I can't deal with Mike being such an asshole anymore. All he does is belittle me and treat me like I am a child. He treats me as if I don't know what I am doing simply because I am a woman.”

“So what are you gonna do?”

“I don't know. Haven't thought that far I guess. All that I know is that I can't stay working here anymore.”

“But what about Mr. McMillan?”

“I am gonna call him to let him know what's going on and see what he has to say.”

“I am so sorry Tara. You don't deserve to be treated like that by anyone. Especially that dick head.” Willow said as she tried to get a little bit of a laugh out of Tara.

It worked. Tara started to chuckle as she looked up from the ground and looked at Willow.

“Well I imagine that you have work to do so I should let you get to it.” Tara said she turned and sat down in her desk chair.

“So are we still on for dinner later?”

“Yes. definitely.” Tara said as she smiled at Willow.

“Good. Then I will see you there at 7.” Willow said as she walked out of Tara's office and made her way back to her car.

“Yes you sure will.” Tara said as she just watched Willow walk down the hallway.

Chapter 8

Postby glendaofoz2004 » Tue Dec 07, 2004 6:16 pm

Chapter 8

Tara walked into the restaurant and was just in awe. Willow was sitting at a table in the middle just staring down at her hands. She looked so nervous but what on earth could she be nervous about? Tara was the one that wanted to talk to her. After a few minutes, the hostess came up to Tara.

“Ma'am? Can I help you with something?” She asked as she walked up to Tara.

“No not really. The rest of my party is already here.” Tara said looking over at Willow.

“Ok.” She said as she walked back to the hostess stand.

Tara went back to watching Willow as she looked up from her hands and to her watch. “Wow.” Tara said to herself as Willow removed a piece of hair that had gone into her mouth. “She is so beautiful.” Tara whispered as she started to make her way over to where Willow was sitting.

“Hi!” Tara said as she got to the table.

“Hey! I was starting to think that you had changed your mind.” Willow said as she looked up at Tara.

“Nope, never.” Tara said giving Willow a crocked smile.

“Good!” Willow said smiling back as Tara said down across from Willow.

The waitress came over to the table and they ordered. They chit chatted through dinner and then Willow couldn't take it anymore. She needed to know what this whole dinner was about. She needed to know what it was that Tara wanted to talk to her about.

“So what is it that you wanted to talk with me about?” Willow asked.

“Well I wanted to get some things off my chest that I have been thinking about all week.”

'And what a beautiful chest it is.' Willow thought.

“I know that you said that you wanted to keep the relationship between us just business but I am finding it so hard to keep it that way.”

“What do you mean?” Willow asked full well knowing what she was talking about.

“I am attracted to you Willow.” Tara said as Willow got a scared look on her face. “I also understand that you don't want to get in a relationship with one of your clients. I think that you are a great person, smart, kind and like I said very attractive. With all that said, I guess what I am trying to say is that I brought you here tonight cause I wanted to know what you were thinking about this.”

“Wow!” Willow said as her expression changed to very scared.

“I am sorry I didn't mean to put you on the spot like this but this is just something that I haven't been able to stop thinking about since the first time I met you.”

“It's ok. You have nothing to be sorry about. I totally understand what you mean. I have been having the same thoughts myself.” Willow said as she looked into Tara's eyes.

“You have?”

“Yeah but...”

“Shit, there is always a but.”

“No it's not bad. It's just that right now, all that I can give to you is a friendship.” Willow said. “I hope that you aren't mad at me.”

“I am not mad at you at all. That was actually what I wanted to know. I meant what I said about understanding that you have had problems with getting in relationships with people you work with. So what kind of person would I be if I got mad at you? I would be horrible. I would be honored to be your friend Willow Rosenberg.”

“Thank god. I was getting worried there for a minute.” Willow said as she started to laugh. “Oh by the way...what did Mr. McMillan say when you told him what happened with Mike?” Willow asked trying to change the subject.

“Oh yeah thanks for reminding me. He said that it would be fine. He was going to call and talk to Mike tomorrow and let him know that it was his idea that you come to the meeting.”

“And if Mike doesn't care that it was his idea? What are you going to do then?”

“Honestly, I have no idea.” Tara said as she got a worried look on her face.

“Hey, don't worry. You can always come work for me.” Willow said as she placed her hand on Tara's and smiled at her.

“The way that Mike acted earlier, I may have to take you up on that offer.”

“I am serious. If something happens and you just can't stay there then let me know.” Willow said as they both got up from the table and headed outside to their cars.

“Well thanks for dinner.” Tara said.

“No problem. I hope everything goes ok tomorrow. Give me a call and let me know what happens.”

“I sure will. Have a good night Willow and I will talk to you tomorrow.” Tara said as she thought about giving Willow a hug goodbye.

“Thanks you too.” Willow said as she had the same thoughts of Tara.

Finally, at the same time, both of them leaned in to give each other a hug. This was a hug that was a bit longer than a normal hug between friends. Tara let go of it first and just stood there and waited to see what Willow's reaction would be.

“Well I will talk to you tomorrow Tara.” Willow said as she walked to her car and drove back to her house.

'This is going to be harder than I thought.' Tara thought to herself as she walked to her car.

Chapter 9

Postby glendaofoz2004 » Wed Dec 08, 2004 10:08 pm

Chapter 9

The next day, Tara went into work expecting the worst. All morning while she got ready, she just had this feeling that something bad was going to happen. She wouldn't have to wait long to see if this was so. Tara got to work around 8, like usual, and got right to work. She started with a project that had to be done by Friday. About 20 minutes after Tara got there, there was a knock on her office door.

“Come in!” Tara said.

The door opened and it was Mike standing on the other side. “Tara, we need to talk.”

“Ok.” Tara said as she motioned for Mike to sit down in front of her desk.

“I got a call this morning from Mr. McMillan.” Mike said as she walked in front of her desk but didn't sit down.

“Oh really?” Tara said trying to play like she didn't know that he was going to call. “What did he have to say?”

“Well, he wanted to let me know that how the meeting went and also to tell me about the good news.”

“Yeah. I was so surprised when he said that he wanted to make us his exclusive ad company.”

“Me too but that wasn't all that he said.”

“No?”

“No.” He said as she placed his hands on her desk and looked her right in the eyes. “He also said that you were to be the only one that worked on his projects as well as Butterfly Affect.” Mike paused and just looked at Tara. “What I don't understand is why in the hell would he want you exclusively?”

“I guess that he really liked what I did with the project.” Tara said getting a little upset with where Mike was going with this.

“See, that is what I am talking about. You taking work that you had nothing to do with.”

“What do you mean that I had nothing to do with? I have worked on this project for two months.”

“Yeah, what should have only taken a week, took you almost two months.”

“Mike, I am not sure who the hell you think you are but...” Tara was cut off.

“I don't think that I am anything. I know that I am the fucking boss and as far as I am concerned, that gives me the right to do whatever the hell I want.” Mike said as he started to make he way around Tara's desk to where she was now standing.

“See that is where you are wrong asshole.” Tara said as Mike was now right in front of her behind her desk.

Mike reached his hand up and attempted to place it on Tara's cheek but it was met with Tara's hand.

“You may be the boss but that doesn't give you the right to ever tell me what to do cause as of this moment, I no longer work here.” Tara said as she bent her knee and lifted it up into the crotch of Mike.

Mike fell to the ground and Tara just stepped over him, grabbed her coat and briefcase and headed out the door to the elevators. She got about half way down the hallway and then stopped. She turned around and went back into her office. When she got back there, Mike had gotten up to his feet and was holding his crotch.

“I forgot something.” Tara said as she grabbed the picture that was on her desk of her and her family. She turned around and went back towards the door. “Oh one more thing, I am going to give all of my clients a call and let them know what a lying dick you are and also let them know that I will be starting my own company in conjunction with Butterfly Affect if they want to come there for their business.”

“I am going to destroy you, you bitch.” Mike said as he tried to walk towards Tara.

“You just try it and you will finally see what a real business woman is capable of.” Tara said as she left the office and walked down the hallway.

Go Tara! :applause

I was waiting for Tara to have a few words with Mike. She deserves a better boss. She sure can do a lot better.

Tara: My heart doesn't stutter.

Tara: Willow, I got so lost.

Willow: I found you. I will always find you.

OMG I couldn't be any prouder of Tara !! She did more than stand up for herself... she threw it right back at him, and added a knee :D . Working in conjunction with Butterfly Effect... T/W combining forces in business... oh the possibilities.

Yay knee in the crotch works as an effective way to get across your point with any gender cause i don't know where that myth about it not hurting girls came from but that is crap! So Tara is going to go work with Willow yay now we can maybe see some thought about smoochies more often :blush

Can't wait for more :bounce

It's about time Tara stood up to that asshole. Frankly, I don't think he stands much of a chance - he's far too unprofessional.

I got bitten by a drunk lesbian! Does that mean I'll turn into one?

The Amazing Tara

Postby glendaofoz2004 » Sat Dec 11, 2004 11:13 am

Tara always had it in her to be strong, brave, and a crotch kicker...and this is for three reasons 1) She's a woman 2) She is fucking sexy 3) She is a lesbian

Put those three things together and you can't help but get a strong person!!!!!!

Thanks everyone for reading my story and for the awesome feedback. I hope you continue to like it as the updates come. Which one will be very soon I promise.

Chapter 10

Postby glendaofoz2004 » Sat Dec 11, 2004 11:20 am

Chapter 10

Tara just sat in her car outside of Willow's office not sure if she wanted to go in. All that she could think about was 'what am I going to do now' the entire ride over. Now, for some reason, she couldn't even get herself out of the car to go let Willow know what happened. After about 20 minutes, Tara finally got the strength to get out of the car and walked across the street to Willow's office building. As soon as she got to the door, she could see Willow standing at Ashlen's desk talking to her. She took a deep breathe and walked through the door.

“Tara!” Willow said as she looked up from Ashlen and noticed Tara walk in.

“Hey Willow.” Tara said with a very sad look on her face.

“Are you ok?” Willow walked over to Tara and placed her hand on her shoulder.

“Yeah I guess.”

“What happened?”

“Mike blew up on me as soon as he walked in the door.” Tara said as she tried to hold back tears.

“Let's go in my office.” Willow said as she grabbed Tara's hand and led her into her office.

Once they got in Willow's office, all that Tara could do was look down at the floor. Willow could tell that something was really bothering Tara but didn't want to press the issue and make it worse. She just sat down next to Tara and started to rub her back. After a few minutes, Tara finally started to cry.

“Oh my god Tara.” Willow said as she grabbed her in a hug. “Shhh. Everything is going to be alright I promise. What happened? Did Mike hurt you?” Willow said trying to calm herself down before she ran out of the room and went over to that office and kick his ass.

“No he didn't hurt me.” Tara said in between sniffles.

“Thank god.” Willow said as she rapped her arms around Tara tighter. “Then what happened?”

“I-I q-quit.” Tara studdered out.

'She is studdering again. Something awful must have happened.' Willow thought to herself as she placed her hand under Tara's chin and lifted her face up. “What?”

“I quit my job but not before Mike tried to come after me.”

“He did what? I am gonna kill him.” Willow said as she tried to let go of Tara and get up from the chair but Tara grabbed her and held her down.

“NO!” Tara yelled. “I already took care of him Willow.”

“What do you mean?” Willow said as she looked into the blue eyes of Tara and for the first time since she walked in today, she saw a brightness in them.

“He came walking towards me and was threatening me. He said that he was the boss and that meant that he could do whatever he wanted. Then he was standing right in front of me as he reached his hand up to my cheek but I grabbed it. I told him that he might be the boss but that doesn't give him the right to ever treat me like this. That was when I told him that I quit.” Tara said as Willow grabbed her hand and was rubbing the top of it with her thumb. “Then I kneed him in the crotch.” Tara said as a little smile came to her face.

“You did what?” Willow said as she also started to smile.

“Yeah. Then he fell to the ground grabbing his crotch as I stepped over him to leave.”

“Oh Tara. I am so proud of you.” Willow said as she pulled Tara into a hug. Then realizing what she did, pulled away and walked over to her desk.

“Willow? What's the matter?” Tara asked as she walked over to Willow.

“Nothing. Just have a lot on my mind that's all.” Willow said to try and make Tara feel better.

“Anything that I can help you with?”

“As a matter of fact there is.”

“Ok. Anything.” Tara said with a smile on her face.

“Are you going to take me up on my offer to come work with me here?”

“I don't know. I haven't had time to think about what has happened really.”

“I could really use your help but it is up to you.” Willow said.

“If you need my help then I am more than happy do it.”

“Great. When do you want to start?” Willow said as she started to laugh.

“Since I don't have a job as of this afternoon, I guess I can start right now.”

“Well, you don't have to start now. How does tomorrow morning sound?”

“Sounds perfect!” Tara said as she reached out her hand to shake Willow's hand.

“Then I will see you bright and early tomorrow.”

“That you will!” Tara said with a wink to Willow.

I had a feeling tara would end up working with Willow, but is this going to further complicate things for a relationship? :heart

I can't wait to find out.

This is going to make it harder for both of them to deny the fact that they both want more than just this. Will it make it harder for the relationship...hell no!!! lol
