~Part 8c~ …We All Need To Grow Up…Sometime**~~~~**~~~~**~~~***
“Mom!” Buffy ran into the living room then into the kitchen. “Mother!” She yelled again, climbing the stairs and finding her mom in her bedroom, folding laundry.
“Buffy, what is it?” Anna asked, concerned.
“What is this?” Buffy asked, throwing the folder on her bed.
Anna looked shocked and quickly scooped it up. “Where did you get this?” She asked her youngest daughter.
“Dad’s Den. I was looking for a paper that’s due tomorrow and I asked him to look over it for me. That when I found this…what it is?”
Anna sighed and ran her finger over the folder. “Almost eighteen years ago, I gave birth to a beautiful little girl. I was in love with her father dearly, and we got married right away. Right after our daughter was born.”
“You have another kid?” Buffy asked.
“I have two more.” Anna answered honestly. She figured she might as well get it all out now, rather then have it blow up in her face, later.
“The oldest daughter…would be?” Buffy gasped as she looked towards the guest bedroom.
“Tray-Al.”
“TRAY-AL?!” Buffy shrieked. “Tray-Al is your daughter? MY sister?”
Anna sat on the bed and nodded quietly. “Her birthday is only a few weeks away.”
“So, where is my other…”
“Sister?” Anna smiled, watching excitement flash across her youngest daughters face. She always knew Buffy wanted two older siblings, and that power just wasn’t in anyone’s hand. Unless you turn back time and pop out a few more children. But for Anna Summers, it was possible to give Buffy her dream.
“Oh, Tara?” Buffy furrowed her brow. “Tray showed me a picture of her, she looks just like Grandma.”
“That would be Tara.” Anna smiled.
“Where is she? I mean, if Tray came here after her dad died, would Tara come here too? Since she’s younger… wait, how young?”
“Tara is about ten months older then you.”
“TEN?” Buffy’s eyes were wide open. “So like, you had Tara, then cheated with dad?”
Anna nodded shamefully. “I didn’t have the heart to tell Michael, their father, that I was pregnant again. Not after just having Tara ten months before.” She fiddled with the files. “So, your father and I took off. We ran away together and came here.”
“Wait a minute, so my sisters were raised to belief that this other woman is their real mother?” Buffy frowned again. “With all the pain and suffereing in the world, mom, you shouldn’t have let that happen. You should’ve gave them cards for their birthday, Christmas, whenever…”
“It wasn’t that easy.” Anna defended herself. “I know the wrongs here Buffy. But I also know that things like this happen everyday, and it does kill me inside to know that my other daughter is out there alone…”
“Then find her!” Buffy looked at Anna, square in the eye. “Why don’t you find Tara? Bring her here, if not for the sake of your guiltiness, bring her back for the sake of Tray’s. She deserves to be…with us.” With that, Buffy walked out of the room, making a quick note to herself that it was not her place to tell anyone about the news she just found out.

The next morning, Tara walked into the school, slightly paranoid of her old friends ganging up on her again. It really wasn’t the best feeling in the world, but she did know that Willow would never treat her like that.
She went to go open her locker when she found a rose taped to the outside. Smiling, Tara traced her fingertip across the soft pedal.
“From your girlfriend?” A voice asked from behind her.
Tara turned and seen the group of four looking back at her.
“Uh…”
“How was the date last night?” Lexi asked, rather politely.
“It was good.” Tara grabbed the books she needed and slammed her locker door shut. “I have to get class.” She tried to move but Terri blocked her way. “Terri, drop the fake act okay? You’re not winning here, just leave me alone.”
“We were your friends first Maclay, or did you forget about that?” Terri crossed her arms around her chest.
“I cannot believe I thought you were cool.” Tara frowned in disgust. “Now if you excuse me…”
“I’m not winning? We’re not worthy enough for your little twosome group with that slut redhead?” Terri smacked Tara’s books to the floor, taking a step closer to the blonde. “Oops.” She smiled evilly.
“Hey! Back off!” Tara flared with a bit of anger. “You are so not worth a second glance, you got that?”
“Oh yea?” Terri pushed Tara once, making the blonde lose her balance slightly. “Now am I?”
“No.” Tara said between clenched teeth.
“Oh, baring those teeth of yours…nice.” Terri stepped forward again.
“Yo, back the fuck away from her.” Willow came up behind Terri and slammed her into the lockers. “You touch her again and I swear to God…you will be going down, bitch.”
Tara’s jaw was left hung open as Terri scrambled to her feet, and it didn’t look like she was about to back down either. “Willow, stop, she isn’t worth it.”
“No, she has no right pushing you…” Willow stared at Terri.
‘No Tara, I think I can take on this little…thing.” Terri licked her lips.
Willow looked over at Tara, and seen the sorrow in her eyes. “You know what? Tara’s right, you ain’t worth a thing.” She took a step back and picked up Tara’s school books. “Come on, I’ll walk you to class.”
“How’d you…are you going here now?” Tara asked, walking down the hall with the red head.
“They like to call it probation. My grandparents would much rather have me in a Private School, they think they are taking a risk and placing me in this school.” Willow shrugged.
“You could’ve got yourself kicked out back there, and you never even started your first day yet.” Tara bit her bottom lip.
“No one messes with my girl.” Willow smiled and wrapped her arm around Tara’s shoulder.

Tara walked home just before dark. She had stayed behind with Willow, to help her catch up on any work she needed to be done. It made Tara curious on just how Willow was going to be able to do her home work in her warehouse with her roommates. With all the partying that may go in there, how would Willow find the time and peace to do that…and would she even follow through?
The blonde didn’t have any of the answers but she knew Willow was a big girl and that she could handle herself.
Walking into her house, she found Belinda sitting in the recliner with a robe on and her hair pulled back in a sloppy ponytail. “Good afternoon, mom.” She smiled and put her backpack down and sat on the couch.
“You think I’m stupid?” A harsh voice hissed through the room.
“What? No…” Tara gave her mother a confused look.
“That…Willow you’ve been hanging out with. How she can just take you away from me and allow you to do things that I don’t approve of?”
“What? Mom!” Tara stood up. “Things you don’t approve of?”
“Yes! Smoking, drugs, drinking…hell, you’re probably out there selling yourself with that little…” Belinda cut off her words.
“Whatever.” Tara got halfway up to her room when she realized she was being followed.
“I’m not done talking to you! So come down here, and let’s finish this discussion.”
Tara let out a frustrated sigh. “Fine.” She walked down the steps to face her mother. “You want to finish this, let’s finish this once and for all. We both know I never wanted to live back here with you. We both know you just wanted Tray and I so you could claim the extra money from our father’s savings, from our savings. And we both know, we both know that this is only for your own God damn image. I don’t like it here. I hate it! I thought we could work things out, but obviously not. You need to grow up and start taking care of yourself. I clean, I cook, I do the shopping and the laundry. I put you to bed when you’re passed out.” Tara had tears streaming down her face. She tried to stop, but she couldn’t, she needed Belinda to hear this…hear her. “I am supposed to be the child mom, not the mother! For God’s sake, I just turned sixteen. No wonder dad left you and I don’t blame Tray for running away. So just…get a new life, make something of yourself and make your life useful!” The blonde was stopped by a sharp pain across her cheek. Belinda had raised her hand and smacked her daughter across the face.
“Oh Tara, I’m so sorry.” The older woman burst out crying, trying to grasp for Tara but was pushed away and watched the young blonde run out of the house.
Tara took off and stopped at the end of the walk way and turned to look back. She seen her mom come out and fall to her knees, crying.
“Tara, please…I’m so sorry, don’t go, I need you…”
Tara was breathing heavily between crying so hard and trying to catch her breath. The tears were no longer falling from her eyes because of the slap, but because Tara knew and realized right then that she needed to leave. She tried to help out, she tried to make her mother understand that the way she was living just, wasn’t the way…
