Thank you!

And I'm pleased to say that I got a rubber ducky for Christmas. heehee

Not that naughty kind that was mentioned though. Which is good really, since this was from my mom. I think I'd possibly die if my mother gave me a naughty rubber ducky.

God...Sass...this is so brilliant

However, I must say, I am never letting Mrs. CaptMurdock read this particular one. She might get ideas, and since Valentine's Day is our pseudo-anniversary ;) that could be dangerous...

Nice to see you posting again.

Well, I'm taking a short break from the madness - and what better way to do that than to check in here? *G* But, I'm low on time, so I'm going to make this as quick as I can.

**AutumnT: Heh - Happy New Year. But, y'know, this one is fairly different from the other vignettes, as it has a beginning, a middle, and an end. It's been so long since I wrote any of those, I'm wasn't sure how it was going to turn out.

**The Big IT: Why, thank you - it's nice to know that I can shirk my fic-writing duties for long stretches of time without angering the masses; however, as soon as things calm down, I'm really hoping I can devote a lots more time to writing - I miss it, and all you kittens.

**sammibackwards: Oh, yes - you're definitely first. Congratulations. And thank you - I'm really glad you liked it, as well as all the other vignettes.

**The Rose24: Cry? Ooops ;) And yes, Willow >really< outdid herself - it's a bit over the top, but fun, and that was the point *G* Thank you.

**Sela: And I hope you've had a very Happy New Year, too *G* Ahhh ... grins the whole time you read it - my work here is done. Umm m ... not that I'm DONE done, but y'know what I mean. Anyway, I'm really glad you liked it. And I definitely never thought they hid anything - and yes, renting billboards is the opposite extreme, but I can be as extreme as I want ... I'm a FIC writer *G*

**LeatherQueen: Heh, thanks *G* And the "hot and spicy girlfriend" order is kind of a true story - up to and including the Del Taco part. Not that I was involved - something I heard from my little sister. So, if it grants a smile, imagine someone actually doing that in real life - because they did.

**Grimaldi: Gosh, thank you *G* And, well, if you were selling "candles" and had a sign up that said "Willow Loves Tara", wouldn't YOU worry that people would think it was a Wiccan Porn Shop? Unless, of course, it really WAS a Wiccan Porn Shop, in which case I applaud your powers of appropriate naming.

**ange04: Thank you! I'm really glad you liked it - though I don't know if my fic is a proper divination tool for predicting the events of a new year - but hey - whatever works for you *G*

**WebWarlock: I can't tell you where Willow got the cash - I was sworn to secrecy. But the answer is, in fact, in the fic. It's a short little throwaway line, but it does, indeed, tell you what Willow was doing professionally to make this money. And I'm glad to see me back in this, too. *G*

**Penrose Orleans: Awwww, thanks - and the vignettes love you, too. And yes - I definitely felt bad for Tara ... but like you said, the pay-off was worth it, and it was fair, as Willow had to stand around with a megaphone feeling very VERY stupid *G* At least she shared Tara's pain.

**Puff: Thank you *G* It always makes me feel great when I'm told that reading something I wrote makes someone happy, or makes someone smile - thank you.

**Bookcat: It was, indeed, a New Year's miracle. You should thank Sweet Baby Jesus. Or, y'know, Beelzebub, who has filled me with his black naughty evil. Or, then again, thank whomever you damn well please *G* Thank you once again for a thesaurus entry - honestly, I really love those *G*

**NoveltyAct: Clearly, you aren't going to the right Del Taco's.

**darkmagicwilllow: Gosh, thanks - I'm really glad you liked it *G*

**lipkandy: Thank you *G* I'm glad you liked it - and my writing is like helium? It makes your voice squeaky? ;) And if you're rereading earlier vignettes, might I suggest "Speechless" and then "Unwinding"? I forget what number they are, but if I may say so myself, I feel those two are the vignettes at their best.

**Cicca: You're extremely welcome - and your mom got you a rubber ducky, huh? Schweeeet. As for the naughty rubber duckies, I would like to point out that their appearance in this thread was in no way shape or form my doing. I'm the sweet nice and innocent one.

**CaptMurdock: Gosh, thank you - I really appreciate that, and am extremely glad you liked it. And I don't know if I'd say "brilliant" so much as "fairly clever" ;) But, speaking of "brilliant" - it has been some time since I have replied in the 'Equilibration' thread, and I'm not all caught up, but it's definitely something I'm hoping to make time to do in the near future. It's a marvelous story, and I applaud your dedication to the W/T love - past, present, and FAR future - which has made you risk your Trekkie Street Cred.

**tkheaven: Heh - I love you, too *G* And I'm really glad you liked it - it was a hoot and a half to write. I veritable "Hootenanny", if you will *G*

**NewRuthRising: You're extremely welcome - and thank YOU.

**wiccachica: Oh, Gosh, thanks *G* But I'm never writing another Valentine's Day Fic ever EVER again - consider Willow's reaction MY reaction *G* It's wonderful to be back in the game - but honestly? I don't have a single solitary romantic cell, let alone an entire organ made up of romantic cells. I am, in fact, a cold and unfeeling bastard with a shriveled black lump where my heart should be (at least, that's what my Esteemed Coworker Derek says - I've learned to trust his judgement). But that is neither here no there - my point? I know I had one here somewhere ... oh! There it is! My point is, even a cold and unfeeling bastard like myself cannot fail to make W/T romantic ... Because they just ARE - doesn't come from me. Which, of course, is a REALLY long reply to, y'know, four sentences, but I somehow doubt you'll mind - and in a few free spare moments, I've looked in on Cataclysm Cafe, and it's marvelous - I'm looking forward to a time when I am free to read everything you've got up so far.

**lucidusgirl: Gosh, thanks *G* I'm really glad you liked it, and that it brought a smile - that makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside. And thank you - that line was pretty much the point of the whole piece ... and y'know? That whole "inheritance" thing is pretty much my New Year's wish for me, too - only, without the someone dying part ;) Maybe I should start buying lottery tickets....

**Shinnen: Gosh, thanks *G* I'm extremely glad I could make your day - that definitely makes wrestling my new roomie for the computer worth it ;)

**xita: Heh ... thank you ... I was definitely going for goofy, silly, and funny *G* I'm extremely glad you liked it ... Heh ... and is it wrong of me to say that I missed my writing, too? ;) And Anya seeling shirts was one of those little unplanned things that just kind of popped in there ... I love those. It's fun to get surprised by my own writing *G* Awwww, shucks, xita ... thank you *G* And I hope you've had a Happy New Yeart, too.

Sassette, how lovely to see you back with another wonderful, vignette addition. I wasn't able to sleep, thus I'm so glad I decided to check the board, and read this priceless update :lol . It was funny (made me laugh out loud), sweet, but most especially conveyed the depth of their love (I mean you can't miss that with all the billboards, as well as Willow shouting it out with her megaphone :) ).

Loved all the "Gratuitous Flashbacks", and just :lol to Willow "the Drill Sergeant" with the power of her mighty whistle. Really so much put a goofy grin on my face with the "Hot and Spicy Girlfriend" part, Anya telling Tara to do the "funky chicken", the callers on the radio (not to mention go "protective" Xander), Tara in her armor with this line, ("...and they sallied forth yet again, Dame Tara, her squires Dawn and Buffy, and their retinue of nameless extras."), Anya thinking commerce with the selling of W&T shirts, and most especially "knight in shining armor" Tara finding (and kissing) her "Princess" Willow in the clock tower, awwww :heart ! I truly enjoyed this "special" moment, and here's hoping your life gets less hectic for you in the future :) !

Willow Kissage
Part 31 of the Vignettes Series
by Sassette

Tara wrapped her arms tentatively around Willow, unsure of the reception of her gesture. Hugs, though, were good, Tara decided, and Willow certainly looked like she needed one. Willow fell into her, confirming her suspicion, and Tara felt a wave of relief wash over her. It had certainly been an interesting day, with Willow ditching her to see Buffy, and then Buffy in turn ditching Willow. And while Tara knew she shouldn't be quite so forgiving, she couldn't help but open her door when Willow had showed up with such a hopeful yet chagrined look in her eyes.

Just a moment ago, Willow had glanced at the clock, her eyes widening. With a few mumbled excuses, she had risen from her seat on the bed, moving to the door, and Tara had realized just how much she really wanted Willow to stay. But Willow ignored her protests, as Tara suspected she would, and made her way to the door, ready to walk out of the little world only she and Tara shared yet again. Tara couldn't help but wonder if maybe she had done something - said something wrong - and revealed more of her feelings than she had intended. But she couldn't help it - couldn't stop herself from giving this hug - not with Willow looking so adrift.

"I would be your anchor," Tara said silently, feeling shy and nervous as she hugged Willow, as if fearing Willow could read her thoughts. But still, Willow wrapped her own arms around Tara, accepting the comfort that was offered. Tara couldn't stop her hands from slowly stroking Willow's back, smiling slightly when Willow's chin rested on her shoulder.

Willow's arms tightened, silently requesting that Tara move closer, and so she did with a little shuffling step, their bodies pressing together. Tara stifled a gasp at the contact, hearing Willow gulp heavily as a little thrill shot through her at their closeness. With a sigh, Willow turned her head, her face burying against Tara's throat, her warm breath sending a wash of sensation across her body.

It was a warm and tingly feeling, and Tara couldn't stop the soft half-smile that curved her lips. This - this is what she wanted with Willow. That she wanted this sense of closeness and belonging was her secret - one that she would keep locked up in her heart. She couldn't let this happen often; Willow was a smart girl and would eventually figure it out, but for now, Tara let herself relax against Willow, resting her cheek against the top of Willow's head.

"I-I'm, umm… uh, sorry," Tara said softly, her arms now wrapped firmly around Willow's shoulders, holding her close.

"Sorry?" Willow mumbled, her face pressed to Tara's neck. "What for? You're being super-nice."

"How could, um, anybody, uhh … not? Be, uh, nice? To y-you?" Tara asked, turning her head a little, her lips accidentally brushing against Willow's temple as she spoke softly, that contact making her lose her train of thought. She just breathed for a moment, until her head cleared and she remembered what she was saying. "I'm, um, sorry your, uhh … friends are being … um, that they're not there, y'know?"

Tara tried to focus on the true situation: she and Willow were just friends. But her heart hoped and ached for more, and the memory of soft skin under her lips - for just a fraction of a second - made her want to feel it again. And again. She couldn't help but wish she could cover Willow's whole face with kisses, letting her feelings for the other girl wash away Willow's pain.

And she was so close, with their bodies pressed together and her lips just a breath away from Willow's skin. And it was warm and safe here, in Willow's arms, and Tara's heart skipped a beat. She had known it would feel like this - she had known that, somehow, that holding Willow like this would make the world just ... stop. It ceased to be for Tara, and nothing mattered except that she and Willow were together, and the feelings she had for Willow.

But she couldn't tell Willow - couldn't let on just how much this meant to her. Baring the feelings in her heart to Willow would be the first step down a road she dared not walk. How many steps? How many steps down that road before Willow would be able to strip away the walls surrounding every secret she had? How long would it be until Willow knew things Tara would no longer be able to hide?

Still - there was no harm in this. No harm in just holding Willow, and letting the guilty pleasures of the moment seep into her memory, so she could call them up to keep the loneliness at bay.

Tara let herself relax further, the sensations washing over her as she held the other girl. The warm breath playing against her neck shifted, Willow's cheeck sliding up around her jaw until it was resting against hers.

Cheek to cheek. Nice, Tara decided.

No - perfect.

They were rocking gently from side to side, but Tara wasn't sure which one of them had started the gentle movement. But she knew she didn't want it to stop - not ever. It was so very … peaceful. All calm and safe, and Tara knew that it had been years since she had truly felt safe.

"Doesn't matter. Happy Willow," Willow said with a sigh, her cheek moving gently against Tara's. Tara could feel something welling up inside of her - a love so strong and fierce it stole her breath away. And she knew that she would do anything to keep Willow in her life, no matter how many lies stacked up - about her feelings, about her past - it would be worth it to keep Willow here. With her.

But wrapped around the love she felt was something stronger, something even more fierce. It made her feel like the very blood in her veins was humming, thrumming through her body and bringing each nerve ending to life. She felt as if the very moment were stretching into an eternity, her senses tuning and sharpening.

She could feel a sort of ... contained energy beneath the seemingly relaxed form in her arms, could hear Willow's breathing quicken. Seeking only to sooth Willow, her hands stroked soft incomprehensible patterns against her back. Willow trembled, and Tara held her closer, straining to be nearer to the precious woman in her arms.

Tara could not hold back a gasp as she felt the energy bottled inside of Willow swell and grow, even as her love and longing for the girl in her arms shot through her like lightning. Her hands tightened on Willow's back of their own accord, her softly parted lips brushing the curve or Willow's ears. She couldn't hdie the tenderness in the motion as she moved her cheek against Willow's - couldn't hide the wistful sigh she breathed into Willow's ear.

She couldn't move - couldn't take this farther. Willow was her friend, and she needed this feeling too much to risk it being taken away.

But then Willow's head turned, and Tara felt her lips pressing gently to her cheek, the kiss full of tenderness and warmth. Tara's breath caught in her throat, Willow nuzzling her cheek softly. Without thought - without a conscious decision - Tara found her lips searching for Willow's, looking for the kiss they both wanted so badly.

When their lips finally brushed together, Tara sighed. Was this real? Was this happening? How could lips be that soft?

With an answering sigh, Willow brought their lips back together, the movement tentative and unhurried, leaving Tara plenty of time and space to move away if this wasn't what she wanted. But Tara didn't draw back - couldn't draw back. How could she resist this happy tingling spreading through her entire body, warming her from head to toe? Did Willow feel it too? Did she know what this meant to Tara - how long she had wished for it?

She would have to show Willow, Tara decided, her lips settling more firmly against the other girls. Her heart pounded away in her chest, sending her blood racing through her body, hot and heavy in her veins. She felt Willow's heart skip a beat, felt Willow gasp against her mouth.

"Oh, umm, I, uhh … w-w … oh," Tara stammered softly, blinking owlishly and trying to articulate a coherent thought.

"Umm, yeah," Willow said with a nod, licking her lips subconsciously. "I, uhhh … umm," she started, then paused, swallowing hard as her hands ran up Tara's back, one sliding up her neck to bury itself in Tara's hair, leaving little tingles of want in their wake. Tara's hands moved on Willow, moved over her shoulders, her thumbs caressing her neck. Willow's eyes seemed to be focused on Tara's lips, softly parted, her breathing uneven. "I, uhh … need to, ummm … you're so …with the … Oh, God, Tara kissage."

Tara didn't even try to respond to that statement with her own thoughts on Willow Kissage, Willow's lips finding hers too quickly and stealing her words. She felt Willow lick lightly at her lower lip, and she sighed, letting the sensations drag her thoughts and doubts away, until there was just Willow and her lips, and >their< lips, together, and her love breaking free from where she had locked it away, coursing through her.

None of her secret wishes had ever been this >good<. Willow, Tara decided, certainly knew how to kiss. Tara couldn't hold back a groan as Willow pulled her lower lip into her mouth, sucking on it gently and teasing it with her tongue. Tara's hands gripped Willow's shoulders convulsively, and Willow's own groan filled the air between them.

Pulling back, Tara breathed heavily as Willow whimpered at the loss of sensation.

"Uhh, stay. H-here, umm, tonight," Tara requested softly between gulps of air, needing Willow to be safe and close. Just, really, needing Willow.

"Oh, God, yes," Willow nodded eagerly, leaning in again.

"W-wait, uhh … that is … I-I'm not, umm, w-w-we're not … not that w-we definitely, umm, w-won't, but I … y'know?" Tara asked helplessly, her eyes wide as she silently plead with Willow to understand what she was trying to say. "I just m-meant, it's, umm… late and, uhh… dark. I-It's not really, umm, safe … for you to go h-home by y-yourself."

"Huh? Oh. Oh!" Willow said, her eyes widening in such a classic look of sudden understanding, Tara wouldn't have been surprised if a lightbulb had appeared over her head. "No, no," Willow went on, shaking her head. "I mean, I wouldn't … I'd never assume that, I mean - y'know, don't assume - it makes an ass out of you and Xander. Long story," she added off of Tara's confused look. "I wouldn't get all pushy or ever try to make you do something you didn't want to, and even if I did, you could just stop me with a 'no'. Unless I already did something?" Willow asked uncertainly, her eyes widening impossibly further and her voice quick with panic. "I pushed you into this. I'm all pushy and mean, and I'm a bad, bad person, and-"

"Oh, no," Tara said emphatically, shaking her head. That, at least, alleviated Tara's own fears that she had somehow been the one who did the pushing. "No, I, uhh… you didn't, umm…push. I w-wanted to, umm …"

"Kiss me?" Willow supplied helpfully, her shoulders relaxing under Tara's hands.

Tara lowered her eyes, suddenly feeling shy and biting her bottom lip, nodding her head in agreement. She took a deep breath, steeling herself to continue - to tell Willow the rest. "A-and, umm… I-I'm not, uhh… w-worried about you, umm… trying something? I, uhh… didn't w-want? Because, umm… I, uhh, don't think you, um, could."

"Hey," Willow said softly, ducking her head to kiss Tara's brow softly. "Let's just see what happens?"

"I'd, umm… I-I'd like that," Tara said, lifting her head and smiling shyly at the girl still in her arms. Willow smiled back, and Tara felt herself walking steadily down the road that she had been so scared of. But would it really turn out that badly? How could she be certain? Wasn't the future unknowable?

Doubts and fears still lingered, but she was looking forward to the future in a way she hadn't in a long time, eager to see what would happen.

Willow, Tara decided, certainly knew how to kiss.

Thanks for sharing Sass and don't work so hard!!!

The Valentine story is just too good for words! Can anyone be that wonderful? *sigh* I sure as hell haven't found her! And I loved this from Tara's point of view! It was so intense. The closer they moved together, the more everything built up in Tara, the harder it was for me to even breathe! Really stunning, Sass!

Sass,

Wow. This is simply breath-taking. Good way to show the emotions and inner conflict. I always thought Willow and Tara first kiss happens in "The I in Team."

Tara: My heart doesn't stutter.

Tara: Willow, I got so lost.

Willow: I found you. I will always find you.

Awww!

Wow, and here I thought you were just posting the one! Woo-hoo! And that was so tender (like Tender Branson in Survivor by Chuck Panahualik [that was a dork joke])...

6. (adj.) Having or showing warm or fond feelings:

• affectionate

• softhearted

• tenderhearted

• warmhearted

• adoring

• ardent

• doting

• loving

• romantic

And I caught it (from the epic one, that is). Willow was the station's web designer, twasn't she! (Do I get a prize?)

Hello? Is there anybody out there?

No, just macaroni.

**tkheaven: Heh ... thank you *G* Gosh, it's been awhile since I've had a thud ... I'd forgotten how tingly that makes me feel ;)

**Little M: Thanks! That's about how I feel about W/T - hence the fic-writing addiction. I'm happy to hear it got a goofy smile, and that you liked it *G*

**JennY: LOL ... Thank you *G* And you're right - smut is great and all ... it's just such a long and torturous process for me to write it that I vastly prefer the slow and tender kisses *G*

**AutumnT: Thanks, Autumn - and yes, Willow definitely had to work it ... errrr ... work FOR it ... to get that Doll's Eye Crystal. Or something. And yes - muchly with the 'yay' for girl kisses *G*

**Kieli: Oh, Gosh ... you're making me blush *G* Thank you - I'm assuming the speechlessness means you liked it :)

**lucidusgirl: Well, I believe that when I wrote the first one (this vignette was a look at vignette #2 from Tara's point of view instead of Willow's), I hadn't actually seen the ep, either *G* Yay for the internet *G* Oh, wow - you DO have some catching up to do ... where in the frilly heck did I find the time to write all this stuff? And yes, I think I've had several marriage proposals, but I've turned them all down - I'm far too cranky to get married. As for the chicken casserole - it's in part 43c of Answering Darkness ... I believe that's about 75% of the way through. Good luck reading that monster :)

**TromDeGrey: Gosh, thanks ... I'm really glad you liked them. As for finding someone that wonderful - keep looking, and good luck *G* And I was actually rather surprised that I hadn't already written that scene from Tara's point of view ... I had planned on doing it when I wrote the first one, but I probably wanted to space them out, then forgot that I hadn't already written it *shrug*

**oneinten: Well, I'm sorta' back. I just had the kind of day at work that involves lots of sitting and waiting for processes to finish. But, I'm glad you liked them - and thank you *G*

**The Rose24: Thank you - I definitely concur about the first kiss thing (though some would suggest things went a bit further ... but I think that's the "positive spin" on not getting to "see" the W/T relationship develop ... it means we fans get to write out all our many and varied theories about it - I know that I alone have several *G*). As for the emotions and inner conflict - I had a blast writing that. I just love where W/T were with each other at that point - just sort of finding the strength to start heading in that direction with each other. Gosh, they're sweet *G*

**Dave V: Heh ... very punny *G* But thank you, and I'm glad you liked it (which I feel like I say to everyone, except that I really mean it - every time someone likes something I wrote enough to comment, it makes me very happy, and I'm not sure how to convey that except "I'm glad you liked it". Bleh - and I call myself a writer *G*).

**Bookcat: *shrug* And I thought I was just posting the one, too ... I had the kind of day at work that involves sitting and waiting, so I did a little writing. It was very naughty of me - kids - don't try this at work. But thank you (though your dork joke went right over my head, and I'm a big dork, so I'm a little surprised - and worried. Is someone going to come to my door and take my dork card?). And yes, you get a prize. Consider yourself prized, 'cuz I said so *G*

Oh wow, Sassette...That was just incredible. I think a lot of us imagine that particular evening as a very significant point in Willow and Tara's relationship; and I personally envisioned it as the first night they kissed. (Since they certainly couldn't show anything that scandalous on the show, of course.) So I was definitely quite pleased to see when this vignette was placed, and beyond pleased to see how you wrote it.

What a great addition to a wonderful set!

Well, by dorky, I mean that it can only be understood by people who have read a certain (not quite obscure) book called Survivor by Chuck Panahualik (I think that's how you spell his name). He wrote Fight Club, which was a wonderful movie and a wonderful book.

Oh, I have a prize! Yay.

Oooooh, smoochie fun! I was so excited to see a new vignette, I forgot to actually read it! After a second run-through, though ( and some "ooh" and "aah"-ing), I'm here to tell you that you did a great job... I love scenes like this- no subplots, no betrayal (of a major variety), just the affection and love that makes W/T such a special couple... *swoon* Keep writing and I'll keep swooning! -Nora
