Yay!

aw, sass, you've made everything all nice and lovely and snuggly again. That was, as usual, just great. I could totally visualize this ... willow teaching and telling her odd little jokes...

[I should be so lucky. Indeed, one is not granted a reasonable sense of humor, a vixeny tara-shaped girlfriend, interested students, or a fashion sense upon acceptance of a taship. Unfortunately. I could use all of that.] actually, am just grading right now, and so had fun trying to think of ways imaginary vixeny gf could distract one from that job..... hmmmmmm.... actually... should probably... go... do that job now . hmph. grumble grumble...

Yay, Sass!

Wow, Sass, these last 2 parts were adorable and sweet and funny and sexy. I, too, loved the image of Buffy, et al, with weapons and Willow with a digital camera! Woo hoo! *does a cheerleader high kick and comes down in a split*

**bookcat: LOL ... personally? I'd pay attention to the class and think naughty things later ;)

**tommo: Oh, yes - much fun to be had with the learning ;) Ahhh, Ruth - how I adore thee. Well, you and Autumn. And thank you *G*

**The Rose24: Why, thank you *G* And to answer your question - I'm going to write until I run out of ideas and requests (btw - for those of you who sent me requests ... thank you for writting - I >will< get to them ... I just have several more on my list to write first). But I hope to do at >least< 50 ... I'm defiitely planning on this being an on-going thing.

**TX: Heh Heh Heh ... you can't say "keep 'em coming" without getting a naughty response on this board. Of course, that's probably what you want, so I'm not going to cooperate because I'm feeling surly today ;) But yes - Tara is quite lovable, and Willow's fun, too *G*

**capricornmist: Oh, but you would've learned plenty - y'know, just nothing about the actual subject - it's more of a "what new thing can I notice about Willow today?" type activity *G*

**mollyig: LOL ... poor Willow? She loved every minute of it *G*

**Jennpurr: Why, thank you *G* And y'know? Some people just don't get it - they're everywhere.

**Owl: Well, when I am elected Supreme Dictator of the World, I promise every TA will be issued a reasonable sense of humor, a vixen-y Tara-shaped girlfriend, interested students, and fashion sense. Heh - hope the grading went well *G*

**Puff: Oh, but Willow and Tara would be a >wonderful< thing to study. Up close and personal ;) Now >there's< a class that needs a hands-on lab.

**Karzia: LOL ... I wasn't aware the Pens Board gave out that award. Who got the first one?

**oneinten: Thank you - and I'm glad you like the idea ... because here, it's ALL about the love.

**Pixie: Heh ... glad you liked them *G* And it's oh-so-nice to see the acrobatics.

Addiction
Part 7 of the Vignettes Series
by Sassette

“Baby?” Tara’s voice drifting through the doorway to Willow’s ears. Willow blinked twice, turning her head towards the entryway as she laboriously pulled her attention away from the computer screen. “Should I, uhh w-wear the brown sweater thing, o-or the blue, umm… t-shirt?”

“Irrelevant,” Willow called cheerfully from the bed, a smile crossing her face as she turned back to the laptop. It was open in front of her where she lay on her stomach on the bedspread, her chin propped up on one hand and her legs crossed behind her. “You look great in both, honey,” she added, scrolling the screen with an idle finger.

“Okay …” Tara said slowly, drawing out the word. The faint sound of Tara dressing in the other room faded completely as Willow lost herself in the words on the screen, and she was completely still but for the movement of her eyes and the idle kicking of her feet.

“Oh, and w-we’re out of, umm … milk,” Tara said, peeking around the doorway with her shirt in her hand, smiling fondly at Willow as she spied the look of concentration on her face. It was so cute how Willow focused so completely on her studies, so very immersed in learning.

“Uh-huh,” Willow said absently, nodding awkwardly against the hand holding up her chin.

“Should we pick some up on the w-way to Xander’s? Maybe?” Tara asked, tugging the shirt on over her head and dropping it into place.

“Inefficient,” Willow said absently, tapping the space bar once.

“Oh, right,” Tara said, shaking her head and shutting her eyes. Watching Willow was distracting, and she has found Willow-watching wasn’t conducive to logical thoughts and actions – like the time she’d been staring at Willow while Willow was doing Scooby research and had found out later she had agreed to watch Dawn because Buffy and Riley had plans and Mrs. Summers had to work late.

Of course, that had actually turned out to be a fun evening, but still – she and Willow had had their own plans, which they then put aside to watch Dawn.

“We’ll , uhh, pick it up on the way, ummm… back, then?” Tara asked.

“Acceptable,” Willow said with a firm little nod, looking over at Tara, then back to the computer screen.

Tara’s eyes narrowed briefly as she looked at her lover. “Umm … baby? W-what are you doing?” she asked slowly.

“Oh, umm … me? Well, of course me, because – hey – it’s not like you’ve got another ‘baby’ around here, right?” Willow said quickly, her attention gained as she fiddled with her laptop briefly. “Just, y’know, homework. I’m study girl. Yup – all about the learning.”

“Sweetie?” Tara said, strolling over to the bed and pulling the laptop to face her, lightly smacking away Willow’s hands as she tried to stop her. “Irrelevant? And, umm … inefficient? Acceptable?” she murmured, glancing at Willow with an unreadable expression as she tried confirm her suspicions about Willow’s activities. “Have you been, umm, reading Janeway/Seven fanfiction again?”

“Who, me?” Willow said, her eyes wide before she furrowed her brow and pursed her lips, shaking her head vigorously and waving her hand as if to dismiss the thought outright. “Oh, well, of course not – see?” she said, pointing out the document that was clearly open on the screen. “That’s homework.”

Tara looked at the screen carefully, laboriously going over the words on the screen. “Honey, running it through your, umm, the … uhh English to Latin program and then, ummm… reading it in Latin w-was a nice try, but see? There’s no w-word for ‘transporter’ in, uhh … Latin.”

Willow winced, then immediately shook her head. “Well, no, ‘cuz … I mean, that’s Latin homework! It’s … trans … like ‘across’, and ummm … porter, like the guys – y’know, the guys with the doors. So, it’s a homework assignment about the guys with the doors going >across< the threshold, umm… into their master’s house, so ummm ... you’re not even remotely buying this, are you?” she finished weakly, a sheepish expression on her face.

“Well,” Tara said, her lips quirking into a smile. “My Latin isn’t umm… very good, but I, uhh, think ‘commissum absentis’ could roughly mean ‘away mission’? And, umm … well, ‘Janeway’ is kind of a, ummm… giveaway. See?“ she asked, pointing out the very incriminating and very clear word in the middle of one of the paragraphs.

“Traitorous proper names,” Willow grumbled, her eyes narrowing at the screen.

“And‘septum di novem’ is pretty, umm … o-obvious, too. Though, isn’t ‘di’ ummm… Italian?” Tara asked, her brow furrowing.

“Well, it’s a rough program,” Willow said defensively, then let her head drop down onto the mattress. Quietly, she banged her forehead against the bed a few times, the springy surface bouncing it back until she just let it fall, then cautiously peaked up through her hair and looked at Tara. “Am I in trouble?” she asked quietly.

“Well, you promised,” Tara said, a little frown forming on her face. “You promised a w-week with no fanfiction, and it’s been, w-what? Six hours?”

“But –“

“No ‘buts’ Willow,” Tara said sternly, shaking her head and crossing her arms over her chest. “This computer is turning off,” she went on, powering down the laptop as Willow sat up.

“But Janeway and Seven just beamed down to a hostile alien world all by themselves, only to find the transporters are offline and they can’t get back on Voyager!” Willow explained quickly. “I have to find out what happens.”

“When w-would the Captain and >one< crewman – and a, ummm… insubordinate one at that - >ever< go on an aw-way mission, uhhh… by themselves?” Tara asked incredulously. “And I, ummm … I can’t believe I just, uhh… asked that,” she went on, shaking her head. “If this, ummm… if it goes on, I’m … I’m going to take the computer, umm… hostage.”

Willow’s face fell as Tara watched, and she felt her heart clench. Her feature softened at the thoroughly disheartened and chastised look on Willow’s face. “It’s not the computer’s fault,” Willow mumbled, picking at the bedspread nervously.

“Willow, w-we talked about this,” Tara said slowly. “This is cutting into your school time, and your, ummm… Scooby time … and ‘us’ time. Don’t you w-want more ‘us’ time?” she went on, a slightly hurt look on her face.

“Well, it’s, umm …” Willow started, before falling silent, a frustrated look on her face as she shook her head. “It’s hard to explain.”

“Try,” Tara urged gently, covering Willow’s hand with her own.

“Well, last year when I was, umm … really confused,” Willow started softly, peeking up at Tara, then looking back at Tara’s hand covering her own. “Buffy was off with Riley all the time, so I couldn’t talk to her, and Xander was always with Anya or trying to do job-y type stuff, and I couldn’t talk to you, because you were a big part of all the confusion bits. So I ended up doing the research thing, and I found these really neat stories …” she trailed off.

“And they, ummm helped? They helped you out?” Tara asked softly, her eyes wide.

Willow nodded slightly. “They kind of … I mean, it was like … I didn’t feel as, umm … lost. After I found them, I mean. Because it was – they were there, and I was here, and everything was all mixed up, but they were so clear, y’know? Girl meets girl, girls fall in love, and things are good. And, umm …” she started to continue, then stopped, a blush crawling up her face.

“What?” Tara said, ducking her head to try to meet Willow’s eyes with her own.

“The, uhh … spicier ones were, umm … kind of a, ummm, ‘how to’?” she managed to get out, her voice soft but full of embarrassment.

Tara blinked once, then twice, then again as she wrapped her head around the idea. “You read these stories to, uhhh… figure out how to, ummm … m-make love to me?”

Willow nodded.

“Okay,” she said, turning the computer back on. “H-how do I send these writers a, ummm… thank-you email?”

You know the fun thing is this is the first time I've been able to read slashfic and have it be canon. Which is something really cool about the whole W/T thing.

**Autumn: Heh ... Then I shall endeavor to smoke the crack more often. And yeah - it full-on rocks that we get canon slash-fic here *G* Makes me feel all warm and fuzzy. And, y'know ... you don't have to just >admire< the propeller ... you can go ahead and give it a little spin. You know you want to ;)

**fidds: LOL - Exactly the point *G* I have to admit, I've been a big ol' fanfic junkie in my time. Heh ... I thought that was much more pleasant and real than that whole 'magick addiction' stuff.

**Katharyn: Heh ... This was a bizarre little scene that occurred to me, oh ... a few months back, while I was smack-dab in the middle of AD. There wasn't really a place to put it in AD, though - which is another reason why the Vignette Series exists ... any bizarre little scene that jumps into my head can go here, no problem *G* And have fun with your WillowTouch FruityWriting *G* I'll, uhhh ... try to avoid the very obvious and very bad pun about enjoying the fruits of your labors - because that would be SO wrong.

**Autumn: You're the fish! *G* And you can flash me anytime.

Woo and Hoo! Willow is a big fanfic lover as well!!

And If she wants some really good Janeway/Seven stories, I know a kitten who has a great site for it.

Of course, She and Tara are on there as well...so she might be a little miffed to see someone writing about all of her and Tara's more intamite moments....

Ah well....

Loved this one Sass....it was cool.

Adorable update Sassette! Now this an addiction I can relate to. Loved Willow's brief answers (ie use of Voyager terminology) "Irrelevant," "Inefficient", and "Acceptable" to answer Tara's questions. So Willow is into Janeway/Seven fic, I guess she is showing her true nature being a scientist, and I am sure the research was quite intense. Really loved how Tara was going to take the computer away from Willow (ie not to feed her addiction), but when Willow explained these fics helped her through her confusion, especially in the how-to sex department, I laughed how Tara immediately put the computer back on. I dare say W&T's amazing sex life owes a big thanks to Voyager smut fics. Really enjoyed this moment between the two, and looking forward to the next one!

Great timing for this story sass. My girlfriend walked in when I was reading it, and I told her I was not alone in being addicted to fanfic. I told her she sounded like Tara, trying to get me to turn the computer off.

But of cause she just shook her head, and laughed. So much for my defence.

Mmmm...I don't think Willow is going to get over this "addiction" that quickly. J/7 slashfic is worse than crack...almost as bad as W/T fic. :)

I think this problem is going to escalate, into role-playing, and it will get to the point where Willow won't be able to make love without being 'in character.'

Then...come the costumes. The red-and-black jumpsuit for Willow and the tight[/] blue catsuit for Tara.

Oh, the headmovies... :D :jaw :d

**Willowfan: Well, it just kind of makes sense, y'know? Fanfiction. Willow. I can just see it so easily *G* And yeah, Lisa's J/7 stuff is really good - but her 7/Torres stuff is >awesome<. Generally, I'm not a big fan of 7/Torres, but 'She Who Hesitates' is just an amazing story. *cough* But I digress *G* And yeah, Willow would be a little miffed and embarrassed to see her sex life on the internet ... and yet, strangely proud. 'Cuz, y'know, if there were stories and stories all over the internet that were basically about what a great lover I am, that's how >I'd< feel about it ;)

**xita: Heh ... I have not, in fact, ever read a NAIAD book. But I do agree with you that there are some excellent fanfic writers - which is great, because it's free, it's accessible, there's some definite high-quality there, which makes the whole 'using fanfiction is Big Gay Research' relatively easy for questioning people.

**VampNo12: *G* It's almost a true story, in a way. I once spent an evening just tearing through some J/7 fic, and when I was at work the next day, I was talking with my esteemed coworker Derek, and ended up dismissing the issues he brought up as 'irrelevant', his ideas as 'inefficient', and when we'd finally hammered out this project we were working on, I deemed it 'acceptable'. And yes, Voyager Smut Fic helped Willow become the Lesbian Gay-Type Lover she is today *G*

**mollyig: Heh ... Yeah, I could, too ... I could see the patented Willow 'hem'-ing and 'haw'-ing so clearly in my head while I was writing this ... glad it did for you as well *G*

**MOUSE: LOL! Well, at least she laughed and didn't get angry about it ;) I'd say that's worth something. *G*

**TX: Wow - what did all y'all talk about? Or do I not want to know? ;) I'm glad you liked it - and Buttons! Give Buttons a lil' hugglies from me, okay? And, umm ... more? You want MORE? Already? Damn, you're demanding *G*

**Tiggrscorpio: Oh, yeah ... a week without fanfiction and I'd go nuts. And you're welcome *G*

**CaptMurdock: Oh, thank you for the visual. That's a very strange but very happy place to be first thing in the morning ;)

**Grimaldi: Heh ... glad you liked it *G* And, Random Side Note: Thank you, Sweet Baby Jesus, for online Latin Translators.

**tiyodragon: LOL! 'Smitten Mitten Junkie Kittens'...? *snerk* And, ummm ... don't ask me what a 'snerk' is ... I have no frickin' clue. And here: :) A smiley face just for you.

Oh that was great, Sass... Addicted to fan-fic. *sigh* I love me some J/7 fic, especially the Just Between series by GL Dartt.

But by far my favorite is 7/Torres fic, most especially She Who Hesitates by our very own Lisarificus. :) I have that story bound just so I can read it over and over again.

Anyhoo, the ending killed me... Tara wanting to write the authors to thank them for Willow's... 'technique'. :D

Okay Sass, I've got a confession to make.

I have read all your vignettes but have never once commented on them.

I'm like one of those people who sits and watches street entertainers, loves the show, then quickly runs away when they come round for donations.

Shame on me. I'm a bad bad person.

So here I am, asking for forgiveness.

As way of penance, I offer up the following gushing praise.

I love your work. I love this whole idea. Each litte window into the world of Willow and Tara is beautifully realised. They're sweet, funny, touching and exactly the right medicine for someone who watched Two to Go last night.

Thank you so much.

And I promise to shower you with praise after each new update.

:)
