I know i've been missing in action lately...many appolagies. Don't worry, i haven't forgot about Beat in Time or Piper...but college has been hectic.

Disclaimer

These characters are trademarks of Joss, ME, etc, i am not making money so please don't sue.

This is pretty much based on Disney's version of Aladdin...it will deviate from the script, for now, events are pretty much as in the movie.

For now this is rated PG (a few innuendos for you guttarbrains :p )...that will change :devil specially if my beta has anything to do with it :p

One guess who is gonna be Genie later... :p

Now...with great thanks to my beta Tishy (specially some of cool the Faith and Kendra lines), i present to you...

Queen of Thieves...or...Willow stole Aladdin's lamp

The bell on the shop door rings, unaware that he has company, the vendor sings to himself.

"Oh I come from a land you might know so well

Where it is so hot you'd think it is hell

Where magic is commonplace

And you get jinxed if they don't like your face

And there's always a story to tell…"

The vendor turns around and looks a bit embarrassed, "Oh, a customer! Come, come, see the hottest wares at the best prices going today!"

The customer, a typical teenage youth of today, looks around the shop looking slightly bored. "So, what ya got?"

The vendor looks flustered slightly as he scrabbles about under the counter. "Well look at this!" He pulls out, rather blindly, an antique looking food processor. "Anything you want, chips, greens absolutely anything and this is the machine for you! The best thing, it is completely indestructible yeah?" He taps the machine at the corner of the desk, "You could drop this…" The food processor breaks into tiny pieces. "Meh, well…how about this…"

"Forget it man I'm out of here."

The youth turns to walk away, but the vendor pulls something out of a pocket, "I see you will only be interested in the best of the best yeah?" At this, he flourishes a dusty lamp, the vendors voice is now a conspiratorial whisper, "Don't be fooled by this lamp's humble appearance, as with many things, looks can be deceiving." Seeing that his customer is uncertain, he leans a bit closer, "This is no ordinary lamp, it once changed a young woman's life, a woman, who like this lamp, was more than she seemed, a diamond in the rough. Perhaps you would like to hear the story?"

At this, the vendor pours some sand from the lamp into his hand. "It began long ago in a dark place where a dark man waits with a dark purpose…"

***

Agrabah.

The sky is lit with stars as a cloaked man waits. On his shoulder is a grey rat, it's tail resting around the man's neck.

Knowing that he is late, a dangerous thing to be when dealing with a sorcerer of Ethan Rayne's power, an overweight thief stumbles in the sand as he runs. As he comes skidding to a halt, he falls, landing face down in the sand. He lies for a while, out of breath, before standing up. The cloaked figure, Ethan, looks down at him. "You…are late."

The eyes of the thief grow wide in fear, sweat appears on his brow. "Oh a thousand, no, ten thousand apologies oh patient one."

Ethan waves the apologies away, interested in only one thing. "Did you get it?"

The thief pulls half a medallion from his pocket, "I had to slit a few throats, but here it is." Ethan holds his hand out expectantly, the thief draws back. "Nuh uh, first the treasure you promised."

The rat shifts slightly, suddenly it's tail flicks out and wraps itself around the half medallion, the tail then holds the medallion to it's master who pets the rats head. "Trust me my friend, you will get what is coming to you." Ethan pulls out the other half to the medallion and fits the pieces together, suddenly, it sprouts wings and flies into the distance. "Quickly, follow the medallion!"

The two chase after the medallion which leads them on a merry chase towards a large sand dune. When it reaches the dune, the two medallion halves spilt and plunge into the dune looking like eyes. The dune rises and a tiger's head is formed. Ethan looks on in awe. "After all these years, the Cave of Wonders. Now remember, take anything you want, but the lamp is mine."

The thief walks towards the head, a loud voice emanates from the mouth. "Who dares disturb my slumber?"

The thief kneels and bows his head, "It is I, Razeem, a humble thief."

The tigers head looks on at Razeem and says nothing, Razeem takes this as a good sign and walks into the mouth. Now that they are alone, the rat talks to her master, "What hellhole did you dig this guy from?"

Ethan puts a finger on the rat's lips as he watches Razeem go down the steps. Suddenly, the tiger roars and closes its mouth, a pile of sand shoots up burying Ethan and his familiar. As for Razeem, no one ever heard of him again.

The tiger's voice comes from the sand as Ethan pulls himself up. "Only one may enter here, one whose worth lies deep within. Find thee out the diamond in the rough."

Ethan splutters and his rat looks irate, she sounds irate also…"That's just great! "Find thee out the diamond in the rough" just great! We will never get this stupid lamp!"

Ethan again outs his finger to the rat's mouth, "Patience Amy, we will get our prize. It seems Razeem was less than worthy."

Amy's voice is laced with liberal amounts of sarcasm. "Well colour me surprised why doncha! We got a big problem here…a big prob…"

Ethan cuts her off, "Indeed we do, we must find this person, this "diamond in the rough"."…

***

"Stop thou red haired charlatan!"

A young woman with fiery red hair scampers up a ladder on top of a building. In her hand, she holds a loaf of bread, her clothes are tattered, a loose blue shirt and tattered denim jeans, the woman looks down at the bread in her hand. "All this for a loaf of bread? Sheesh."

Seeing the guard who had shouted and two others, a woman with long black hair and another, darker skinned, woman, hot on her heels, the redhead holds onto the bread with both hands and uses the bread to slide down a clothesline, sliding into and dislodging many items of clothing on the way. Her progress is halted when the shutters of a window are slammed shut and she slides to the floor.

The blonde guard looks down searching for the redhead, "You shall not get away so easy thief!"

The redhead grabs a shawl and wraps it around herself before looking at the bread, "You call that easy?" The redhead steps into a doorway, trying to cover her face.

A couple of women stand in the doorway and one winks at the redhead, "Getting in trouble a little early, aren't we Willow?"

Willow winks back, "Buffy couldn't catch me if I had my eyes closed! Besides, you're only in trouble if you get caught...eep!"

"Gotcha you red haired hussy." Willow is picked up and slammed into the doorframe. Buffy looks up at her captive.

Willow groans, "I'm in trouble."

Buffy has a smug look on her face, "And this time…"

A black and white kitten jumps onto Buffy's head, pushing her hair into her face and forcing her to let Willow go. "Perfect timing Miss Kitty," Willow grins as she runs away, she shouts over her shoulder, "Hey, Faith, Kendra, see if you can give me run for my money this time!"

"That girl is wicked dead," the dark haired woman mutters to her companion.

"She be beggin' for t'it mon."

Faith raises her eyebrow and gives a short laugh, "You offering?".

Willow jumps onto a barrel and looks back, Miss Kitty purring near her feet. "If you two lovebirds are done making out…I believe we are due our morning exercise…" Willow and Miss Kitty take off.

Buffy catches up with Faith and Kendra and spurs them on, "Come on! We'll get the flamin' scoundrel this time!"

Willow caught what Buffy said as she ran and mutters "I don't think so," as she grabs a pole and uses her own momentum to do a quick 180 degree turn running past the guards. Buffy matches this move perfectly, hot on Willow's tail (and nearly stepping on Miss Kitty's) and Faith does also, Kendra is not so fortunate as she stumbles and falls, but quickly gets to her feet and resumes the chase.

Willow runs a slalom between market booths like a game of crack the whip, earning curses as she knocks fruit off carts. Willow grabs a falling apple and throws it over her shoulder, Buffy ducks, Faith didn't see the apple until the last second but spits it with her sword before shaking it off.

Willow heads towards a set of stairs, Miss Kitty streaking ahead. As Willow turns a corner, Miss Kitty stops and her tail just happens to conveniently raise an inch or so, Buffy and Faith jump over it but Kendra catches her foot and takes a nosedive. Kendra hits the floor hard, "Stupid domesticated animals."

Willow runs hard, occasionally zigzagging, knowing that in a straight race, Buffy would probably catch her, in one occasion, Faith zigs when she should have zagged and bangs into the fire-eater…causing what would most likely be the cause of heartburn in the next half hour or so.

Kendra, by now, has caught back up, Faith quickly shakes off the effects of her collision and runs to catch up with the chase. A passer by happens to drop a piece of rope which wraps around Kendra's ankle, she stumbles and runs full pelt into a sword juggler causing swords to fly everywhere. Passers by duck as swords whiz through the air. Miss Kitty screeches to a halt as a sword lands in front of her. She turns around to face the guards, her tail wrapping around the sword and actually wielding it, Miss Kitty shakes her armed tail at the guards, Faith and Kendra back off slightly.

"This is wicked whack, that kitty has a sword."

Kendra looks shocked and exclaims, "Ow can a little kitten 'ave a sword?"

Faith looks grim as Miss Kitty advances, "How the hell would I know? Do I look like an animal trainer?" Willow, heading back for her compadre, giggles and Faith hears before growling, "Don't you dare answer that scoundrel!"

Buffy draws her sword, "You idiots, we all have swords…bigger ones!" Realising this, Faith and Kendra pull out their blades, Miss Kitty sheepishly lays her sword on the floor before Willow grabs her, picking her up.

"Come on Miss Kitty…now is not the time to play." The chase is again on but as they head inside a building, running up stairs…only Willow is rapidly running out of floor to run on.

"We got you now scoundrel!" Buffy roars. Willow makes one last gasp attempt at freedom and grabs a carpet, with a taunting wave as she runs, Willow runs towards the window and dives out, streamlining her body against the carpet. Before she hits the floor, Willow holds the carpet in both hands above her like a parachute, floating to the floor.

Buffy watches the back of Willow as she runs for safety. "You will taste my blade scoundrel!" she shouts, then quieter, she mutters "and if we should meet on a dark night, you have a date with Mr. Pointy."

Faith looks confused, "Like, is that a good thing or a bad thing?"

Kendra catches up and mutters "It good if you be kinky mon."

Queen of Thieves...or...Willow stole Aladdin's lamp

The vendor trails off for a moment, the youth looks on, his face showing that he is absorbed with the story. "Now…where was I?"

The youth speaks up, his voice barely a whisper, "Kendra was just getting kinky with Faith…"

"Ah yes, Willow and Miss Kitty had escaped with the bread and they soon sat down in an alley to enjoy the spoils of their victory over the guards of Agrabah…"

***

"Now Miss Kitty, we eat." Willow broke a bit of the bread off so that Miss Kitty could have a small chunk that she could hold in front of her paws and nibble.

Miss Kitty's attention was soon captured by the presence of others in that little alley. Thinking, maybe, that it may be the guards, she arched her back and hissed. A small figure jumped and gave a weak cry, it was a little girl. She, as well as her little brother, was scrounging in the garbage hoping to find something to eat. It tugged at Willow's heartstrings to see two children, so small, in the same situation as her but not as able to cope with it.

Now that Miss Kitty knows that the children aren't guards, she walks up to the them and rubs herself on the girl's leg, purring. The girl giggles and scratches Miss Kitty's head as Willow walks over with what remained of the bread, most of it considering she herself had barely taken a bite. She breaks the bread in two and hands half of it to the girl and half of it to the boy, "I need to lose some weight anyway," she softly murmurs. A tear forms in the girl's eye at this rare kindness as she mouths her thanks.

Meanwhile, a crowd seems to be gathering in the streets outside the alley and a fanfare of trumpets echoed all around. Willow moves forwards to see what all the fuss is about, jostling with the crowd. Some step aside, knowing that despite being a thief, Willow has a good heart.

In the distance, Willow can see a horse striding majestically to the gate, on top of the horse was a man dressed in all the finery Agrabah had to offer. The man was a young prince with a curled moustache, he was dressed in silks of many bright colours, shades of red and yellow as well as rich blues. A voice shouted loud above the noise of the crowd, "Make way for Prince Arkhmed!"

The crowd's murmuring got louder, if this was a Prince, then he must be yet another suitor for the Princess. Princess Tara was renowned for her beauty, but also her pickiness when it came to finding a husband.

A brush against her legs caught Willow's attention. She saw the boy from the alley closely followed by his sister, run out into the street. Willow tried in vain to get a hand on them as they ran right in front of the horse, forcing it to rear it's legs. Prince Arkhmed looked imperiously down at the children and took his whip from his hip. Seeing this, Willow quickly ran into the street herself as the Prince yelled, "Get out of the way you little brats!"

The whip cracked and drew a cry from the boy, the whip rose again but this time didn't crack, instead it wrapped itself around a slender arm before being pulled out of it's owner's grasp and thrown to the ground. Willow's eyes blazed with fury as she glared up at Arkhmed. "Why don't you pick on someone your own size? Or can you only push around little children?"

Arkhmed looked down at Willow, unbridled scorn in his eyes. He spurred on his horse, digging in his heels. As he passed Willow, he kicked her down to the ground. He said "Get down in the dirt where you belong scoundrel," and gave an ugly bark of laughter which was joined by the laughs of some of the merchants Willow had stole off. Many of the crowd gasped however, shocked at these actions, not that any ran out to help Willow to her feet, Arkhmed was a Prince afterall.

Miss Kitty ran out to her fallen friend, Willow stood up and looked down at Miss Kitty, she made sure that her voice carried so that all could hear, "Be careful my friend, this dog may have rabies."

Arkhmed turned his horse as the palace gates swung open, his face red from anger at both the remark and the fact that he could hear several people sniggering at what Willow had just said. His voice betrayed his barely restrained temper at the fiery haired, and tempered, scoundrel. "You are scum, a scoundrel. You were born that way, you will die that way, and when you die there will be a party on your grave."

Having said his piece, Arkhmed turns his horse once more and it walks through the gates which slam shut. Willow shouts anyway, "I may die a scoundrel but I will die a better person than you richboy!" With fury still burning in her eyes, Willow tuns and walks away, Miss Kitty following.

***

Night falls as Willow walks towards an abandoned building, she walks up some stairs, Miss Kitty following behind her. The kitten gives a small yawn as they approach a gap in the floorboards. Miss Kitty takes a run and jumps across, meanwhile, Willow grabs a pole and vaults the gap. Miss Kitty walks towards a small rug and lies on it. Willow strokes Miss Kitty as she softly sings.

"When they look at me, what do they see?

A scoundrel fit only for dirt surely

But they don't look deep, they don't look inside

They don't see the soul that the dirt hides,

And they don't see all there is to me."

Willow's voice fades as she holds the "me" for a couple of heartbeats. Miss Kitty makes contented noises as she sleeps. Willow opens a curtain to look upon Agrabah, the palace looming white and tall above all. Willow gently removes her hand from Miss Kitty and places a blanket on her to ward away the relative cold of night. Willow folds her arms across her chest to try and keep warm herself as she leans against a wall and peacefully sleeps.

***

"This is an outrage!" All is not well in the palace as morning looms, Arkhmed storms out of the back gardens into the palace and towards the door. It would appear that something has taken a bite out of his pants. Arkhmed's face shows fury at the indignity he has suffered in both travelling to Agrabah and during his stay in the palace.

The Sultan follows Arkhmed, trying to keep up. He rubs his glasses as he tries to placate Arkhmed. "Come now, I'm sure you just got off on the wrong foot, why don't we all settle this over morning tea, the finest tea leaves from all of India…"

Arkhmed growls his displeasure as he storms towards the front of the palace, "Good luck marrying her off!" With a slam, the Prince leaves. The Sultan, dressed all in white, places his glasses back on his nose. With a sigh, he walks towards the gardens. As he opens the door, a large tiger pounces in front of him, a piece of material in his mouth…care to guess where that came from?

"Rajah!" The Sultan admonishes the tiger as he tries to wrestle the cloth from it's mouth, "So this is why Prince Arkhmed left in such a huff! Why I oughta…"

"Oh c-come on Giles, h-he was just p-playing with him," a blonde, dressed in translucent pink veils, walks up to the tiger and strokes his face before gently liberating what was the seat of Arkmhed's pants. Her voice takes on the tone one would use with a favourite child. "He was j-just p-playing with the stuffy, overdressed P-Prince Ar-Arkhmed weren't you Rajah, yes."

Tara had always called the Sultan by his surname, ever since Rupert Giles had taken her on after his brother died while she was a toddler. Giles had never had a child since the tragic (and still unexplained, though the cynic might think that the Grand Vizier, Ethan Rayne had some part to play…) death of his would be wife, Jenny Calender, Giles had never married and Tara was a surrogate child to him. And, as he often reminded her, she would soon take his place in ruling Agrabah.

"This is not the way to get married Tara, you know the law."

Tara's voice becomes impatient, "Y-Yes that s-stupid law, the P-Princess must have a P-Prince…"

"…by your next birthday." Giles' voice has a tone of finality.

"B-But Giles," Tara stutters, her voice almost pleading.

"You only have three more days Tara," Giles' voice softened, "And it's not just this law, I'm worried about you Tara, I promised that I would look after you. Soon I will not be able to."

"I-If I marry, I w-want to l-let it be for love." Tara opened a cage full of doves and took one out, caressing it as she held it to her cheek. "I-I'm so trapped here, I've not stepped foot outside the p-palace since I was a ch-child."

"It is the law Tara, you are a Princess afterall."

Tara splashes the water in a fountain with her free hand as her voice takes a tone of anger, losing the stutter that often betrayed her nervousness. "Well maybe I don't want to be the Princess! It's not like I had a choice in the matter is it?"

Tara sighs as she puts the dive back in the cage, then, realising how it must feel, she throws open the door and all of the trapped doves escape to their freedom.

"I don't know what I'll do with you Tara, your mother wasn't nearly so picky." Giles turns and walks away. As he enters the palace, he sees Ethan, his Grand Vizier, "Ah Ethan, my most trusted adviser."

Ethan, with Amy curled across his shoulder, walks in tow with Giles. "You look troubled my liege. Anything I can do to help?"

"It's this marriage thing, Tara seems quite set against it."

Ethan thinks for a while and notices a ring that Giles is wearing with a blue gem. A glint appears in Ethan's eye. "Perhaps you just haven't found the right suiter."

Giles notices Amy and digs in his pocket, pulling out a cracker. If rats could roll their eyes, you wouldn't be able to see Amy's right now, Giles holds the cracker to Amy's mouth and only takes it away when she has had a nibble. When he turns away, Amy spits it out and mutters to Ethan, "What the hell do I look like? A freakin parrot?" As if Giles thought of this himself, Giles pulls out a lump of cheese. Amy makes a slight gagging noise before once again taking a nibble at the offered (and not that much appreciated) food.

Giles thinks over what Ethan has said, "Maybe you're right, but how are we to find the right man? I do want Tara to be happy afterall."

Ethan looks like he's thinking of a solution, instead he's thinking of how to get that gem. "There may be a way…but it would require a certain item…like say, that ring."

Giles looks concerned, "This ring? Why, it's been in the family for years."

"Which is why it is needed." Ethan holds a staff in front of Giles' eyes, his voice becoming low and hypnotic. "Don't worry, everything will be alright."

Giles sounds like he is in a trance as he repeats "Everything…will be…alright."

Ethan leans in closer, "The ring?"

Giles takes the ring of his finger and silently gives the ring to Ethan. Satisfied, Ethan walks away.

***

Night falls over Agrabah, most people are inside and the streets are silent. The palace is also, but a door opens and soon a figure is creeping across the courtyard.

Stealthily, in a hooded robe, Tara makes her way to a wall. It was easy to get this far, at this time of night, even the guards sleep. As Tara puts one foot on the wall, ready to climb over, she feels a tug on her robe. She looks down and almost cries when she sees Rajah. "I-I'm sorry Rajah, I r-really am, but I h-have to go." Rajah gives her a mournful look, "I c-can't stay here and have my l-life l-lived for me, I-I just c-can't." Tara pulls one foot over the wall and feels Rajah put his head under her other foot, supporting her, "I-I'll m-miss you." Tara finishes climbing over the wall, a tear falling from her eye.

***

Agrabah market is thriving, merchants sell their wares ranging from pottery to necklaces. Fish to…fruit…

As the merchant in charge of the melon stall haggles with customers, a certain feline walks across the fruit. Now obviously Miss Kitty can't actually carry a large object such as a watermelon but…"Get away from my fruit you fleabag! Scat!"

Miss Kitty knocks over a melon as she runs away, as the merchant turns to retrieve this, a pair of hands appear from above and take the juiciest watermelon of the bunch. Children snigger but no one says anything, indeed, with the prices of the fruit, most people think that one watermelon shouldn't hurt anyway. The hands, with their prize, quickly disappear as the merchant turns around he places the melon he retrieved at the top of the pile and looks a bit confused, but then gets back to business. Miss Kitty runs behind the stall and joins her compadre on top of it.

"Heh heh, nice going Miss Kitty," Willow praises her friend as she cracks the watermelon in half across her knee and places one half in front of Miss Kitty so she can lick the juice. That's when her gaze catches a young lady she's never seen before…also she feels a pinch at her elbow that wasn't Miss Kitty…

A younger girl, dressed similarly to Willow sat on top of the stall with her. Willow had found a child abandoned and looked after it from when they were just ten and eight. They had sort of become surrogate sisters. The girl fiddled with her shoulder length black hair that framed unblemished dark skin. "Hey Willow…Earth to Willow, where the hell are ya?"

Willow tore her eyes away from the site of the robed beauty and turned towards the girl, "Hey Makyrah, speaking of "where are ya," and no cussing please, I haven't seen you in the last few days. Where ya been?"

"Oh, around," Makyrah takes a piece of Willow's watermelon, "I saw what you did for those kids though, that was sweet. Not many woulda done that you know." Makyrah gets closer to Willow and put her arm around her, "So…who's the girl you were staring at?"

Willow blushes, "Girl, what girl? I don't see no girl…well…not any I fancy anyway…besides…erm…"

Makyrah giggles and puts a finger across Willow's lips, "You are such a bad liar for a scoundrel Willow…oh oh…"

"Oh oh what?"

Makyrah points across.

Being in Agrabah market for the first time was certainly an experience Tara wouldn't soon forget. Traders shouted and showed her many wares; silks, velvet, jewellery, fish, fruit, the finest wares Agrabah had to offer. When Tara looked across at the apple stand, she saw a small child reaching up. "You must be hungry huh?"

The child looks sad and nods, Tara takes an apple from the stand and gives it to the young boy. The child scampers off as the merchant turns towards Tara, his voice threatening. "I hope you can pay for that."

Tara looks confused, never having to have paid for anything in her life, "P-Pay?"

The merchant draws his sword and pins Tara's wrist to the cart, "Do you know what the punishment is for stealing?"

Tara's eyes held fear as the merchant raised his sword, "I-If you l-let me go b-back to the p-palace I can get s-some m-money from the S-Sultan."

The sword descends and comes a hair's breadth from Tara's wrist…"There you are! I've been looking for you everywhere young lady…"

Tara gives the redhead with her elbow on the hilt of the sword a look that said "huh" but the redhead just winked at her. The merchant looked confused also, "You know this girl?"

Willow makes a dramatic show of putting her hand to her head, "Sadly yes, she is my sister," Willow leans in a little closer, seemingly to talk but really nabbing an apple from the cart, she whispers, "She's a little crazy."

Tara looks offended but again receives that wink . "She says she knows the Sultan."

As if on cue, Miss Kitty jumps down and hops around on her two back paws. "Come on…she thinks the kitten is the Sultan."

Seeing where this is going, Tara kneels before Miss Kitty, "Oh wise Sultan, how may I serve you?"

Miss Kitty actually made a good show of looking all regal, meanwhile, her tail passed along an apple to the waiting hands of Makyrah, this was repeated a few times. Willow kept the merchant occupied, "Sad I know," Willow placed the apple back on the cart as if she had picked it up from the floor…thinking of that…ew. "Anyway, it's time to see the doctor, come on sis."

While Miss Kitty "acquired" a ruby…or three, each one passed to the cheeky younger sis of Willow, Tara, with a straight face, turns to a camel "Why hello doctor, how are you?"

Willow groans, "No sis, not that one…" The merchant turns away, satisfied…until he hears the ruckus that was Miss Kitty knocking over his money pouch. With a look of anger, he starts towards the kitten and Willow, Tara and Makyrah run away laughing hot on Miss Kitty's tail.

As always, the BtVS characters belong to Joss, ME, etc. Makyrah belongs to my beta...don't worry...i'll look after her :p

Here's chapter three of

Queen of Thieves...or...Willow stole Aladdin's lamp

“All seemed to be going well for Willow, she had outsmarted the greedy merchants again, and she, Miss Kitty, Makyrah and Tara were running along to Willow’s “home”. However…”

***

In a secret room of the palace, known only to Ethan and Amy, panting comes from a contraption in the middle of the floor. Amy the rat runs…on a gerbil exercise wheel? Meh. Pipes lead from the wheel to various pieces of machinery, it all leads to a funnel above a vice. Inside the funnel, a storm is brewing above an hourglass…“Parp.”

“Amy! That could have waited.”

“Well when the freakin Sultan keeps giving me crackers and cheese…sheesh what is it with that jerk?” Amy pants as she runs the wheel. “Pant…pant…could we not just wait for a real storm? No one else is getting that lamp anyway…”

“Just shut up and run faster Amy!”

“Yes sir.” Ethan places the ring into the vice as the storm above it builds. Suddenly a bolt of lightning strikes the ring.

The lightning passes through the gem and into the hourglass making the sands swirl. Ethan looks on in anticipation, “Sands of time, show me the one who can enter the cave.” The sands shift and an image begins to appear, the image shows the movements of a redheaded girl, climbing to her home. “Ah, there she is, My diamond in the rough.”

Amy also sees the image, “That’s her? That’s the person we’ve been…” Unfortunately…speaking had caused Amy to slow down…the wheel hadn’t. Amy whirls around the wheel like she is caught in a cyclone.

“Yes, that is the girl. Let’s extend an invitation to the palace shall we?”

Amy exits the wheel and is thrown against a wall. “Ouchies.”

***

“Almost there,” Willow climbs onto the platform that leads towards her home and puts a hand down for Tara to help her. Miss Kitty has already scampered up to the top.

Another voice comes from below, “Hey, what do I look like? Chopped liver?” Makyrah waits just underneath Tara, “I’d appreciate a hand myself.”

Willow grins down at her, “Come on, you’re usually faster than me up this thing, quit messing about.”

Makyrah flashes a smile and vaults up the remaining distance. “Easy when you know how.”

Makyrah grabs a pole and vaults the gap. Tara stands up but trips, Willow catches her. Tara looks into Willow’s emerald eyes, “I w-wanted to th-thank you for…”

Tara searches for the words but Willow shrugs it off, “It was nothing, just gotta know how to handle them. So, this your first time in the marketplace?”

Tara blushes, “I-Is it r-really that ob-obvious?”

Willow nods her head, “Just slightly,” Willow grabs a pole and also vaults the gap, she takes hold of a plank to bridge the gap for Tara to walk across, “You just gotta be caref…” While Willow was talking, Tara had also vaulted the gap. Willow looks at her for a moment with a look of surprise in her eyes.

Tara smiles, “I-I’m a q-quick l-learner,”

Willow raises an eyebrow, “I can see,” Willow is about to say something else when…

“Hey, lovebirds! What’s keeping you?”

Willow groans Makyrah!”

Makyrah smiles as Willow and Tara approach…"Ooooh…wasn’t I meant to tell her that you fancy the pants off…mmf!” Willow slaps her hand across Makyrah’s mouth and blushes as Tara giggles.

Tara smiles as she sees how close Willow and Makyrah have become as they banter, “I-Is this w-where you l-live?”

Willow answered, “Yup, just me and Miss Kitty. And Makyrah when she’s around right sis?”

“Yup, when Willow isn’t…mmf!” Willow again slapped her hand across Makyrah’s mouth, “What? I was gonna say “when Willow…erm…isn’t running from Buffy”…yeah that’s it.” Willow raises an eyebrow and Makyrah quietens down and pouts as Willow glares at her, “I’ll be good…honest.”

Willow walks over to the curtained window as Makyrah grabs an apple from the window sill, “I know this place aint that much but…it’s home. And…” Willow opens the curtain and Willow and Tara see the palace in all it’s glory, Tara looks a bit sad but Willow doesn’t seem to notice, “…You get a great view of the palace.” Willow sits on the window sill looking out. “Y’know, I sometimes wonder what it would be like to live there, all the servants, valets…”

Tara’s tone is one of frustration, “Yeah, people who tell you what to wear and where to go.”

Willow cuts in, “Better than living here, scraping for food, running from the guards.”

Tara carried on speaking, “Y-You f-feel that y-you have no ch-choice in h-how you l-live.”

“Sometimes you feel…”

“Y-You’re j-just…”

“Trapped,” both Willow and Tara had said “trapped” at the exact same time and they look into each other’s eyes.

Makyrah quietly leaves the room figuring that Willow and the blonde could do with some alone time. “So, anyway, where are you from?”

Tara considers Willow’s question, “I-It d-doesn’t m-matter, I r-ran away a-and I’m never g-going back.”

“Really?” Tara nods, feeling that Tara seems upset, Miss Kitty rubs herself against Tara’s legs to comfort her and begins to purr.

Tara reaches down to stroke Miss Kitty, “I-I’m b-being forced to m-marry.”

Willow moves closer to Tara and cups her cheek, “That’s awful,” Willow and Tara move closer to each other and are about to kiss when…

AAAHHMFF!!! Willow turns around, startled at the sudden cut off scream, then she hears a familiar voice, “There you are scoundrel…aww…did I come at a bad time?”

Buffy stands in the doorway, as she moves forward, Faith follows, holding the struggling form of Makyrah. Both Willow and Tara look panicked as they both shout “They’ve found me!” They look at each other, “They’re after you?”

Tara edges away, “Giles m-must h-have s-sent them…”

Willow and Tara are at an edge, Willow looks around and gulps slightly, then she turns back and holds out her hand, “Do you trust me?”

Tara looks at Willow dumbfounded for a moment, "W-what?"

Willow holds out her hand. "I said do you trust me?"

Tara looks at Willow and grabs her hand, "Y-yes."

Willow holds onto Tara’s hand and jumps, sending both of them into freefall. They crash through several sheets, slowing their fall a little, then they crash into a pile of salt. Willow scrambles up, Tara a bit slower, Willow looks towards the end of the alley but sees that it is blocked by Kendra, “I been waiting for you mon, I was getting a little bored.”

With a screech, Miss Kitty jumps at Kendra but is thrown into a pot, which the just appearing Faith holds shut, “Gotcha kitty.”

Willow tries to barge through Kendra, but she is no match for both Kendra and Buffy. Buffy looks smug, “No escape this time scoundrel, we gotcha.” Tara runs up to Buffy but gets thrown away, “I’d stay out of this if I were you.”

Tara hits the ground. She stands up, anger in her voice forcing away her stutter, “Unhand that woman,” Tara removes her hood to reveal who she is, “By order of the Princess.” Willow, the guards, and Makyrah hidden behind a corner (after stepping on Faith's toe and quickly sliding down the edges of the ladder) look dumbfounded at Tara. Buffy, Faith and Kendra bow, Buffy and Kendra forcing Willow to do likewise.

Buffy raises her head, “What are you doing outside the palace my Princess, and with…with this…scoundrel?”

Tara’s voice is still as hard as steel as she replies, “That is none of your concern, do as I say. Release her!”

To give her credit, Buffy does look a little sheepish. “I’m sorry Tara, I can’t. My orders straight from Ethan. You’ll have to take it up with him.”

Tara looks pissed off as she turns away, “Believe me, I will.” Tara walks away.

i wonder how Willow can sneak into into the market and steal things without being noticed. I would see that red hair and fair skin first if I was to walk in Agrabah. I love Tara being Jasmine though! I can't wait for more!! I wonder who genie is?? How is Willow supposed to be a prince later?? hmm.. I guess I have to wait for all of that. Don't let me wait long. I love this story.

Here's chapter four, bit of a cliffhanger if you don't know the story...though i've been told you'd have to have lived on Mars all your life not to lol...so...cliffhanger warning for visiting martians :p

Anyway...here's the next installment of...

Queen of Thieves...or...Willow stole Aladdin's lamp"

***

“Tara did just that, she sought out Ethan upon her return to the palace.”

***

A portion of a wall slides away, and Ethan’s head appears, looking around. He comes out of the secret room and starts to slide the door shut, a door at the far end of the corridor slams open and Ethan quickly slides the wall into place…nearly…a certain rat wasn’t quick enough to get out. “Squeak, squeak…hello…”

Tara comes storming down the corridor, as soon as she sees Ethan, she heads right towards him. “Ethan!”

Ethan bows, spreading his cloak to cover as much of the gap in the wall from view as possible, he also uses this opportunity to slam Amy back into the secret compartment with his foot, allowing the wall to slide back into place fully. “How may I serve you my Princess?”

There is no mistaking the look of anger on Tara’s face as she speaks, “The guards took a girl from the market place earlier today, on your orders.”

Ethan pauses, it looks like he’s thinking about which girl Tara could possibly mean. “Well, the Sultan has charged me with keeping peace in Agrabah, she was a criminal.”

Tara raises her eyebrow, her voice is impatient and not just a little sarcastic sounding, “And what was her crime?”

Ethan looks at Tara as if she should already know, “Why, kidnapping the Princess of course.”

Tara’s voice has found it’s stutter again, “I-I wasn’t k-kidnapped, I r-ran away.”

Ethan feigns shock on his face, “I am so sorry my Princess, how upsetting this is, and quite embarrassing. If only I’d have known.”

Tara looks fearful as she asks the question she already half knows the answer to, “W-What d-do you m-mean?”

“Sadly, the girl’s sentence has already been carried out.”

“W-What was her s-sentence?”

Ethan leans in, his voice taking on a sinister tone, “Death, she was beheaded just an hour ago.”

Tara’s eyes fill with tears, she shudders and leans against a wall for support, “N-No. H-How c-could y-you?”

“I am frightfully sorry my Princess.”

Tara gives him one last look before running away, crying. She runs into her chambers and collapses onto her bed, Rajah looks up and walks over to her to comfort her. She looks down at him and pets him, a tear falling onto his coat, “I-It’s a-all m-my f-fault Rajah, I d-didn’t e-even know h-her n-name.”

***

“So Tara thinks that Willow is dead, the first spark of romance, snuffed out. Yet, in the dungeons, Willow awaited another fate.”

***

Willow sits on the cold dungeon floor, her wrists held in place on the wall by a heavy bar, locked into place. Rats scurry on the floor, and skeletons of past prisoners remain manacled to the wall as she is. A grim promise of what is to come.

Willow shivers as a gust of wind blows through the window, then her sharp ears pick up a meow. She looks up at the window and sees the form of Miss Kitty. Miss Kitty jumps down the wall and runs over to Willow. Miss Kitty rubs herself on Willow’s leg before putting her head into her pocket, when she comes out, we see that she has Willow’s set of lock picks in her teeth…what Miss Kitty wouldn’t give now for a pair of opposable thumbs…

Miss Kitty places the picks point down into the floor and manages to wrap her tail around them, (don’t ask how…I’m only the author), a bit of jangling later, and Willow’s hands are free, she sits for a while rubbing circulation into her wrists, then she pets her furry compadre. “Thanks Miss Kitty,” Willow reflects on what got her into this situation, “Man, I don’t believe she is the Princess. I musta sounded so stupid, talking about the palace when she’s trying to get away from it.”

Miss Kitty meows, her tone pretty much telling Willow off. “Don’t worry, I’ll never see her again, she’s a Princess remember. There’s a law, she has to marry a Prince. I guess she deserves it over some scoundrel like me eh?” Miss Kitty plops herself down on Willow’s lap, and Willow pets her for a while. She sighs, “I’m a fool.”

“You’re only a fool if you give up girl,” a low voice came from a darkened corner, hey…hey...where was this guy when his thumbs would been useful with a pair of lock picks? Startled, Miss Kitty arches her back and hisses. An old guy limps into view, his hair is white and he has a crooked back…still…he does look a little familiar.

Willow gives him a look up and down, “Who are you?”

“Just a lowly prisoner like yourself my girl, but perhaps together, we can be more.”

Willow’s ears perk up, “I’m listening.”

The old man coughs, Willow winces at the sound, harsh and croaking. “There is a cave, a cave of wonders, there is gold in this cave beyond even the Sultan’s wildest dreams, enough to impress your Princess I wager…”

Willow is about to speak, but there seems to be a squeaking coming from inside the old man’s clothes…meh…musta been her imagination.

“But she must marry a Prince, that’s the law.

“Have you ever heard the golden rule?” The old man enquires, “Whoever has the gold makes the rules." Again the old man wheezes with laughter.

“So, if you know about this, why would you share it with me?”

The old man gives his croaking laughter again, wheezing as he breathes, “Do I look like I can just go there and get it myself? No, I need someone young with a strong back to carry the gold.”

Willow looks a little excited, though she mainly masks this, then she hits upon the key problem…“One thing, the cave is out there…and we’re kinda stuck in here, and “in here” seems pretty much impossible to escape from.”

The old man gives his croaky laugh again, “Not everything is as it seems,” he taps a stone with his cane, then looks confused as nothing happens, he tries again, a little harder.

A voice comes from the other side as the stone moves a little, then stops, “Ow! Don’t worry Willow, I’ll get you out sis!” There is a scraping noise as the stone moves back, being pulled out of place. When the stone has moved, a dirty face pops through, “Hey Willow…ooooh, party, can I join?”

Willow raises her eyebrow, “If you wanna stay here, feel free, this party’s just about to leave.”…

***

Who disturbs my slumber?”

Willow kneels in front of the tiger’s head, “It is I, Willow.”

The tiger pauses, “Proceed, touch only the lamp.”

Makyrah gives a nervous giggle, “What, you're not even meant to touch the floor?”

The old man croaks to Willow, “Remember girl, first bring me the lamp, then you shall have your reward.”

Willow walks towards the steps, Miss Kitty by her feet. As they step in, they notice that the walls are made of gold and the whole cave is full of coins, gems, rubies and fine silks. Willow looks in awe and gasps. Miss Kitty bolts towards a ruby that has caught her eye, “No! Don’t touch anything.”

Willow walks on, Miss Kitty walks over a rug with all the colours of the rainbow with rainbow like patterns. As Miss Kitty passes it, the carpet hops up and creeps up behind her. Miss Kitty looks suspicious and whirls around, to find the carpet flat on the floor. Miss Kitty walks on but again the carpet hovers above her, when Miss Kitty whirls around, it is rolled in a corner.

Miss Kitty freaks out and runs to Willow running circles around her legs. “Miss Kitty, quit messing around. Quit it.”

Miss Kitty walks behind Willow, chuntering to herself (however cats do that). She sees a shadow beneath her and whirls around, she can’t see anything so she spins a full circle, again unable to see anything…cheeky little rug. Miss Kitty walks on until she feels a tug on her tail, this time she sees the carpet and screeches, both Miss Kitty and carpet look scared and run off in opposite directions. Miss Kitty jumps up onto Willow’s shoulders screeching away. “What are you, crazy?”

Willow turns around to see what has spooked her compadre and sees the carpet sorta shyly looking back at her. “Ooh coolies, a magic carpet!” The carpet flies over to Miss Kitty but she swats at one of his tassels, still screeching loudly. The carpet droops as it slowly “sadly” walks away. Willow glares slightly at Miss Kitty and tries to coerce the carpet to follow her, “C’mon, I won’t hurt ya, not lil ol’ me no sir. Maybe you could help us?” The carpet straightens out and flies round and round Willow and Miss Kitty looking excited. “We’re looking for this lamp…” The carpets gets even more excited (if that’s possible) and flies forward waving a tassel in a “Follow me” gesture.

Willow and Miss Kitty follow the carpet and they eventually see a river with uneven stepping stones. On the other side is a set of stairs, and on a pedestal is a lamp. Willow looks down at Miss Kitty, “Stay here, and don’t touch anything.”

As Willow hops across the stones, Miss Kitty’s eyes get drawn to a pedestal, this pedestal has a ball of gold fleeced yarn on top and it draws Miss Kitty closer. Carpet tries to grab her tail as Willow puts her hands on the lamp, she mutters quietly “This is it, this is what we came down here to…” Willow sees a reflection in the lamp of Miss Kitty straining towards the yarn, she breaks free of carpet and…”Miss Kitty! NO!!!”

Miss Kitty tackles the yarn and bats it around with her paw, The cave's voice growls “INFIDELS! You have touched the forbidden treasure! Now you will never again see the light of DAAAAY!!!” Miss Kitty scrambles away from the yarn as it slowly turns into lava, the floor leading from the entrance to the cave is also turning into molten lava. Miss Kitty heads towards the stepping stones as the water also turns a hot orange. The ground shakes as Willow heads for the stairs but they turn into a slide, she falls but Carpet catches her just in the nick of time. Meanwhile, Miss Kitty has hopped onto the middle stepping stone and stepping stones from both sides begin exploding.

Miss Kitty looks panicked as she is now standing on the last stone, Willow whizzes down on Carpet catching Miss Kitty just before she takes a lava bath, Miss Kitty latches onto Willow’s face causing her to be unable to see. Willow tugs at the shivering form, “Miss Kitty! Now is not the time to panic no sir!” The whole cavern shakes as rocks fall and Willow tears Miss Kitty from her face, she then sees a solid rock wall coming towards them, “Start panicking!” The carpet turns upside down, throwing Willow and Miss Kitty into freefall and catching them as it again spins round going lower to where there is a gap in the wall.

Carpet turns to it’s side causing Willow to tightly hang on to the side of the carpet and onto Miss Kitty, she kneels up for a second as the carpet becomes straight and she narrowly ducks a flying rock. They are past the lava bit but rocks still fly at Willow as Carpet manoeuvres to avoid them. The cave begins to growl and close as Willow, Miss Kitty and Carpet are near the top, Makyrah looks on in fear as the old man pushes her away. A large bolder lands on carpet causing it to fall but Willow grabs onto the ledge.

The old man kneels down in front of her with his hand out, “Give me the lamp!”

Willow struggles to climb out but can’t, “I can’t hold on. Give me your hand!”

“First throw me the lamp!” Willow unbuckles the lamp from her belt and throws it up. Willow has struggled her way to having one knee on the ledge as Carpet tries to free itself below.

Makyrah tries to help Willow but the old man throws her aside and grabs Willow’s arm. Willow looks up at him in fear, “What are you doing?”

The old man sneers, his wig falls off to reveal Ethan, “Giving you your reward scoundrel, your eternal reward.” Ethan pulls out a crooked dagger and looks set to stab Willow but Miss Kitty jumps on his face, Ethan throws her off into the cave and she screeches as she plummets. Makyrah runs towards Ethan but he trips her and she also falls, hitting the walls a few times on the way down. Carpet finally frees itself as Makyrah falls and catches both her and Miss Kitty as the cave closes and Willow lets go of the ledge, also hitting the wall and falling unconscious, Carpet catches her and floats gently to the ground.

I dunno when the next update is gonna be typed...my computer has...what's the technical term?...buggered up. Hopefully i can get it fixed soon. Anyways

Queen of Thieves...or...Willow stol Alladin's lamp"

“I thought you said this lamp changed a woman’s life, sounds to me like it ended one.”

“It would seem that way, but you must remember that not everything is as it seems. Ethan stood outside the cave, ready to inspect his prize...”

***

Ethan stood in the sand, a look of exultation on his face. “After all this time Amy, we finally have it, the lamp.” Ethan searches in his pocket, “I was sure I put it here, must be in the other pocket.” Ethan searches all his pockets and comes out empty, “No, it can’t be, nooooooo!”

***

On the rocky floor of the cave, there is a groan. Kneeling over a fallen Willow, Makyrah rubs the back of her head, “Who put that flaming wall there?” She wonders as she feels a large bump, “Meh, I’ll heal,” Makyrah outs a hand on Willow’s shoulder as Miss Kitty anxiously meows.

Makyrah breathes a sigh of relief as Willow begins to stir. Willow opens her eyes and frowns, “What hit me?”

Makyrah smiles, seeing that Willow looks to be on one piece, “You mean what did you hit, that poor wall got quite a clobbering.”

Willow giggles as she hears this and raises an eyebrow, “I beat the wall up? How come my head is killing me then?” Willow’s smile disappears as she realises where she is, “I’m sorry Makyrah, I dragged you into this.”

“Dragged?” Makyrah’s voice has an odd mix of sympathy and scorn, “If you think I was gonna let you come here all on your lonesome you have another thing coming,” Makyrah helps Willow to her feet, “Besides, not all is lost.”

“Not all is lost huh? We’re all hurt, I dragged us down here where we’re even worse off than the dungeon and that guy has the lamp…”

Makyrah’s hand goes into her pocket, “You mean this thing that Miss Kitty handed…erm…tailed to me? I think he’s missing it.”

Willow looks at both Makyrah and Miss Kitty and then grins, “And people call me a thief. Lets have a look at it.” Makyrah hands the lamp over and Willow casts a critical eye over it, “Hmm, looks a little beat up, dusty too. It says something here though…” Willow rubs her sleeve over the lamp and suddenly drops it as smoke pours from the tip.

Smoke and bright light fills Willow’s vision for a moment and there is a loud “bang”. The smoke starts to take form as Willow’s vision clears. Slowly, the shape of a woman becomes visible but from where the legs would be, the smoke doesn’t shape itself but stays in the lamp. When the smoke solidifies, Willow sees a young looking woman with short blonde hair looking back at her. The woman is dressed in a red croptop, a translucent red veil covers what her see of her stomach and upper legs before cutting off like the bottom half of her body. Shackles surround the woman’s wrists.

The woman stretches her back and Willow hears a loud crack, she winces thinking that the young woman may have snapped her own spine. Suddenly the woman speaks, “Aaaah that feels better, ten K in that thing really does your back no favours,” the blonde looks across at Willow, “Hi, I’m the genie of that lamp you just dropped on the floor, do be careful with my home please.”

Willow has a look of confusion on her face, “Genie?”

“Yeah, you never seen one before? No? You’ve missed out girl. Don’t call me genie though, I hate that, sounds so sub, you can call me Anya.”

Willow still looks confused, “Erm…ok.” Willow turns to Makyrah and whispers, “Did I hit my head harder than I thought?”

Makyrah whispers back, “If you did, I did too, I can see her as well.”

“What does a genie do anyway?”

“Hey! I’m not a genie, I’m Anya, kindly remember that. As for what I do…well master…erm…mistress, that’s entirely up to you, you do get three wishes after all…oh…ix-nay on the whole wishing for more wishes gig…three is all you get, three, three and only three. Not three plus three, not three squared nor three cubed, just three.” Anya looks at Willow for a moment, “Hmm, you’re smaller than my last master, big hulking guy he was, either that or I’m getting bigger. Anyway, enough about me, what about you? What’s your name?”

“Willow.”

“Cool name, hmm, can I call you Will? Or how about Low? Illow? Nah. So, what do you want.”

Willow still looks sceptical, “You’re saying you can do anything right?”

Anya is about to speak, then pauses, “Well, almost, there are a few rules I need to tell you straight off. Rule numero uno, that’s rule number one if you didn’t know, I’m not allowed to kill people,” a dagger suddenly sticks out of her chest with blood around it before disappearing, “So don’t ask,” the dagger disappears, “I used to be able to, I was a vengeance demon…then the author decided to make me a genie...”

Willow and Makyrah share a confused look and Makyrah asks, “The author?”

“Yeah, that ugly guy in the corner,” Anya points across and Willow and Makyrah see a man with black hair sat behind a desk typing on…a laptop? Noticing that everyone is staring at him, he gives a wave. Anya thinks for a moment as if something had just occurred to her, “Hey, I am getting paid for this gig right? In money?”

The author just keeps typing while saying, “How about I don’t have you ravaged by ravenous bunnies in the next chapter and we call it quits?”

Anya looks shocked, “BUNNIES?!?” A look of defeat hits Anya’s face, “Ok, ok already!” Anya mutters to herself, “Man…you’d think he’d pay me for manual labour.”

“I heard that.”

“Yeah…” Anya pouts, “Just because Mr. Author over there is omnipresent and all powerful he thinks he can abuse me.”

“The author raises an eyebrow, “Bunnies,” he concludes.

Anya just looks at him in a scared and abused way before looking back at the gaping Willow and Makyrah. “What, you’ve never seen a story character argue with the author before? Now…where was I? Ah yes, rule number two, I can’t make people fall in love,” Anya pinches Willow’s cheek (on her face guttarbrains…not…well you know) “Aw you little snuckem. And that leads to rule three, I can’t raise people from the dead, it aint nice, they come back all…ew…I just don’t like doing it! So no asking ok? Yeah? Thanks.”

Willow looks at Anya still looking rather confused, “Man, I must have concussion or something cos this is one weird dream.”

Anya looks a little put out, “Ok, you don’t believe me…lets see what we can do about that…”

Suddenly a ring of fire surrounds Willow and she hears Anya’s voice singing.

“So you’re in a hotspot, no way to escape?

A situation so tricky it makes Houdini gape.

Just give the lamp a rub and see what I can do

Cos I live to serve and I serve you.”

The fire dissipates and Anya is replaced by men with swords.

“Surrounded by thieves? Just see how I handle this

The ol’ one-two…three four five and six.”

She boxes the men away.

“Or do you need gold? Everyone could do with some

Fine food and a romantic ride in the sun

Come, just wish it and make it explicit

And see what luck comes to visit.”

Willow is surrounded by gold, both she and Makyrah gape, Miss Kitty chases a big ol ball of twine, suddenly, it disappears. Anya grabs a top hat and twirls it on her arm.

“I bet a gal like you has many friends in her life.

But do any match me do they live to the hype?

Can they do this? Can they do that?

Can they pull this critter out a hat?”

Anya continues to twirl her hat before duplicating it into three balls of fire and juggling them. The fire merges to become one hat again and Anya pulls out…a bunny. There is a classic moment where they both look at each other wide eyed then Anya screams and drops it. She looks over at the author who just smirks. Anya belts out…

“Bunnies aren't just cute like everybody supposes!

They've got them hoppy legs and twitchy little noses!

And what's with all the carrots?

What do they need such good eyesight for anyway?

Bunnies!

Bunnies!” (You might recognise this from Once more with Feeling.”

Willow and Makyrah now look even more confused, Anya breathes deeply, “Sorry…evil author! Nearly as evil as those white furballs!”

Makyrah looks down at the bunny, “Looks kinda cute.”

Anya stares at her goggle eyed, “Whatever…just keep it away from me, anyway…seeing as I got stopped midsong…I guess here’s the bit where you ask for your first wish…come on, give it a try.”

Willow looks at Makyrah who moves her head up, indicating “out of here,” Willow gives her a sly wink. “Hmm, I don’t know Makyrah, I mean, limitations on her powers? Rules? Some all powerful. Why…I bet she couldn’t even get us out of here…lets find our own way out.”

Suddenly a large foot appears in front of Willow (yes…Anya grew a lower body during her time out the lamp), “WHAT! You telling me that you rubbed my lamp, you woke me up, you disturbed my sleep, you got me scared as hell when author guy wrote in a bunny and NOW you don’t want your wishes? Nuh uh! Not this genie! You’re getting your wishes so SIT DOWN!!!”

Maryrah and Willow fall back onto Carpet, Miss Kitty jumps on. Makyrah leans over to Willow and mutters “Wow…PMS much.”

Anya floats onto Carpet, not forgetting her lamp, and suddenly she looks like an air stewardess. “If we should meet unfortunate circumstances, please note that the emergency exits are…pretty much anywhere…Now leeeeeeeeets get OUTTA HERE!!!!”

Carpet begins a spiral and then points straight up. A hole explodes in the ceiling and Carpet zooms out of it.

Oh I love this story :) As one of the probably three people in the world who haven't seen Aladdin, now I'm going to have to go see it. And my god, could Miss Kitty be any cuter? From the moment she wielded a sword with her tail, you had me completely hooked. And now she snags the lamp - she's the real hero of this story, isn't she? :)

I'd love, if you'll permit, to host this story on Through the Looking-glass (alia.customer.netspace.ne...lass.htm), that being a website for exactly this kind of Willow-and-Tara alternate setting fiction. If you'd like that, and want an email address to go on the site for feedback, you can contact me at alia@netspace.net.au - if you'd prefer no email address, that's no problem.

I hope you'll agree. Thanks for writing, and I'm looking forward to reading more soon.
