Willow/Tara Art print

FYI kittens... :-)



There is a local artist in my town who does portraits from photographs (pets, etc) and she also has done a series of pictures of couples from gay-themed TV (queer as folk, L-word, Xena.)



Anyhoo, this Christmas my sweetie surprised me with a commissioned portrait of Willow and Tara! The artist had never done W/T before. Although I have the original, the artist is selling prints. I don't think she's put it up on her website yet, but she is selling it on ebay now.



The portrait is a lovely pencil drawing of W/T in the "back hug" pose. She captured the faces just beautifully. I'm so happy with this artwork I thought I'd pass the info on to the kittens.

Looks nice. How does she make those from photgraphs? Does she print out pictures and draw over them with a pencil or does she digitally alter them and then print them or does she draw it herself whilst just using the picture as an example?

I have this print..It's beautiful. I wish there was one from Once More With Feeling of our girls (you know the one)..

I have about six of this artists' prints. A couple Liancas, Xena and Tipping the Velvet. And that number is going to grow because she's working on one of Olga Sosnovska (Lena) I believe.

All her pencil drawings are done freehand. She just uses the photos instead of live models. (When my partner commissioned this, she provided the artist with a screenshot from my computer.) These are not photoshopped at all.

I bought one of the back hug Willow/Tara prints from that scene in "The Real Me" and it is just beautiful.

Joy is an outstanding and incrediblt gifted artist to have drawn that freehand and capture all of the subtle nuances and non-verbal cues so richly evident in this pose.

I bought the print when they're dancing and floating and the other one when they are in bed together sleeping, from the beginning of Season 6..If you click on Joy's website now, you will see that she now has a Buffy section.

It also has some non WT and post SR stuff, so those of us who rather not see that, bewarned. I find it amazing that anyone can draw in so many different styles, so well and so fast. Some of those drawings are almost indistinguisable from real pictures. Quite stunning.

There are now seven Willow and Tara prints for sale, as well as a package deal..They are really nice and I'm proud to say, I own them all..



Joy has some new W/T prints up..There are two individuals of Willow and Tara and then two more, W/T at the airport saying goodbye to Giles and W/T kissing at the beginning of season 6 after talking about pancakes..



There is another new one..It's the scene form the musical when Willow is leaning over Tara on the bed..

Wow. this artist is really churning 'em out! (sigh...and to think it all started with my Christmas present! )

I have found that the best things to do is to purchase the package sets. Its really a bargain, as each print then averages out to about $10 apiece, which is a damn bargain.



It's really great to check out her website, as you see she has alot to offer, including many from the L Word..Personally, I can't wait for the next W/T series of prints to be posted. The Wedding, the Wedding Night and so on.... After that purchase, I may have to open a art gallery

Her artwork is AMAZING! It's so beautiful and looks so real, like a photograph. She's is one talented artist!

If only I could draw that good, I keep trying hard and only get so far...but once again i say she is amazing! *stares blankly in state of awed shock*
