Who are you like, Willow or Tara

Postby SlayerTazz » Fri Mar 29, 2002 2:54 pm

Hey All,
Ok, I'm still a newbie here...so if I boo boo, please be gentle and let me know.

I'm sitting at work keeping myself entertained by reading the Kitten Board, and started to think and wonder...who I was more like (ok, lots of free-time tonight).

I can identify with the shyness of both, but I'm going to have to put myself in the Willow (the early years) category...shy, insecure, computer geek.

So now I pose the question to you - who are you more like - Willow or Tara???

Buffy: (about Riley's lunch selection)...A Twinkie! That's his lunch? Oh, he is so gonna be punished.
Willow: Everyone's getting spanked but me.

I find that I relate to Tara. I used to be quiet and stutter like she did early on, but now I have a lot of self-confidence like she does.

Hmmmm. I always identify with Willow, but I'm guessing I have to claim a bit of Tara too. The shyness and being hesitant...
But the geeky Willow who can get rambly and goofy with words. That rings so true!

I'd say I'm more on the Willow side, too. I might have Tara qualities somewhere, but the Willow ones stick out. I'm kind of a nerd, and I can ramble for sure. Willow is also strong, caring (most of the time), and funny. I like to think I'm some of those things now and again.

Oh, and if anyone I love gets hurt... revenge it is!

I was like Willow in high school: shy, quiet, reserved. I had my group of friends and I had no idea that anyone else existed; I didn't even know the names of the "cool" kids. Now though I'm more like Tara, in an embarassing situation or when I start to feel really shy, I just stop talking and freeze up, but I never ramble. I also came into my own in college and I think I'm kinda maternal even if its rather hidden in my shyness.

This is a fun question. I am definitely Willow; big computer geek. My sisters made fun of me when I younger for playing computer games, but now I am a software engineer so I guess I got the last laugh. I also sometimes act hastily; allowing my emotions to take over. My partner is definitely more like Tara. She is very nurturing and thinks things through calmly. We are a good balance.

At school people say that I look and act like Willow, (I'm also a total geek) and have done since the show started, which I thinks kinda cool. Lately though I've related a lot more to Tara, cos Will's really changed in the last year. I'm a really quiet person, and used to stutter, but if I'm around people that I'm comfortable with I'm fine, although I slip into the old mumbling and going bright red habit when under pressure or if felling awkward (most of the time then)

hi, i'm a newcomer here! i think i'm more like tara: i'm shy and (i can be) quiet, and like tara (at the beginning) i can easily feel excluded...not very self confident too...but i study computering, so that's more like willow!
ok, i'm a mix of both!

I'd have to say I'm a mixture of both. I used to be terribly shy and insecure, walking with my head down and everything. But after high school started I came out of my shell, I'm still shy but only a bit and only around people I don't know well. So in that way I'm like Tara. I'm like Willow in the way I babble when I'm happy or whenever actually. I'm a geek and clumsy (sp.) I always run into door frames, see about the rambling.

What a fun question! I would have to say I'm more like Willow, with a dash of Tara! Isn't it funny how just about everyone who posted here has one thing in common, we are all shy! Just an interesting thought.

Ditto, except for the only-reason-i-watch-the-show part. i can see a lot of my high school self in willow's high school self - it's funny how you can kinda miss the unrequited crushes when you have the luxury of looking back on them from a few years' distance.

I would say, Willow. Because like Willow I am good with computers, and funny around my friends. Plus, I LOVE TARA(Amber). I thought I would add in that little factor. Love

I've always loved and related so much to Willow. I'm still the shy, brainy girl who is a spazzo around boys and has a love history of the unrequited type. We also have the same passion for important causes. All my friends who watch Buff were laughing during "The Freshmen," during that part when Will said she had heard about 5 issues and was angry about each and every one of them, cause that's definitely me. We both put the grrr in grrrl, lol (as my friends all tell me and sometimes get annoyed by.) We're also both redheads with plant names, lol (yup, I have overanalyzed this bigtime.)
I really related to what she said to Tara--"I want something that's just mine." I think that's a big part of Willow, longing and dreaming for something of her own, something (or someone) she could hold and know willingly belonged to her. I love that she found that in Tara.
It's funny, too, because I also relate to Tara in some ways. We both have the bad family history thing. "Family" is one of my favorite eps because I felt that along with her. I absolutely loved how Willow and Buffy stood up for her, and how Willow loved her more when she knew the whole story. That was beautiful.
Think I might cry a little right now just thinking about it, lol.
I also think, along with Tara, that it's really depressing how bad the spelling is online! It's like this big black hole that sucks everyone into its bad spelling warp and makes them apathetic or clueless about it.
It's cool to read everyone's posts about this! Neat topic!

Physically I'm more like Willow- red hair (ok not nature but had it red so long can't remember my natural colour!), green eyes (these are natural-no coloured lenses for me!)and height (5ft 3-without heels). Also my dress sense can appear weird to others.
Personality wise I'm more of a mixture of the two. Like Tara I'm very shy unless around people I'm very comfortable with but like Willow can then babble on!

Great question-pulled me out of my lurking state!

I...I don't think I'm really a lot like either of them.-shudder- I'm always the class clown in school I have a lot of friends not at all shy, sometimes I can't shut up. But I do relate to Willow in the whole power trip thing, now that i do when given just the slightest bit of authority. But i'm kinda like Tara you know how she's like the mother of dawn now because buffys to busy screwing spike!sorry resentment there. Well i'm lik a mom to my really close friend so i guess I'm more like Tara but so identify more with Buffy before and after becoming the slayer aand Anya cause I tell people exactly what I think of them!
sorry for the really long ramble!yesh, tired now!

I'm a lot like Tara. Especially the Tara who has learned to stand up for herself and have more confidence. But I definately have some Willow in me.

I'm sort of a mixture of both, too.

I love computers, like Willow. I'm sort of shy around people I don't know, like Tara. I worry a lot, like Willow. And I have a little bit of a stutter. Oh, and I have blonde hair like Tara, but green eyes like Willow. Lol. So - like I said, both.

Let's Think About This....

Postby LadyLily » Thu Jun 20, 2002 2:01 pm

I'm not the expert on who they both are, but there is one thing that Willow and I both share: love of computers.

Yeah, sure, many people love computers, and I am one of them. But not only do I love computers, I can program (only one language so far but I'm looking at other languages as well), I'm learning how to hack (I know, naughty, but exciting too), and I actually have my own web page on a server.

I don't stutter (at least I don't think so), I can talk quiet a lot when nervous, and I'm shy but not really, really shy. I also tend to worry quiet a bit about some things.

About the physical features? Now that isn't a judge of character, is it? It's kind of hard to have a random physical feature to be a judge on who you are more like. My believe would be more personality but anyway. I think I have blue eyes, although theychange colors every day. First they are a deep blue, then a green, then gray. So who is like that? The last physical feature would be blonde hair.

So, in conclusion, in personality I am leaning more towards Willow but with the physical features I would tend to be more Tara like.

I feel like Tara internally, but externally most people (and that BBC.com quiz) would probably say I'm like Xander. First 2-3 seasons Xander, I hope, before he started down his path to jackass.

I do stutter a little bit, but only sometimes when I'm upset. I feel more shy than most people probably think I am, because I tend to use humor as a defense. But inside sometimes I'd rather be in the corner with a good book.

As for the physical features, well, I'm a guy, so there are certain boundaries. Lets just say i may not look much like Tara, but I certainly look more like her than I do Willow. I mean, our hair is similarly colored and we do both have a thing for redheads...

Im mostly like early tara, very very shy, i have whole stutter thing, inability to speak to people in whole sentances, tendancy to look at the ground all the time.

I also like to think that i have the whole calm maternal caring thing going on too.

I'd say I am more like Tara. A very shy and insecure person who only started to gain confidence when she fell in love. Still very shy in many respects...but better than she use to be. Love brings out all of her best qualities. I am more than happy to say that I can relate. I think we all have Willow and Tara in us sometimes...hope I didn't touch on any "hidden" fantasies.

I'm totally Tara...not so much in looks (thats my rotten luck in life I suppose) but I am definately shy and not so sure about myself. I tend to stutter when I have no confidence (which is most of the time) and when I am nervous...all of this is pretty much early Tara behavior.

I'm totally loyal and the one everyone comes to for advice and a listening ear. I also am very maternal and protecty about those I love. So, whoever messes with MY GIRL is totally screwed! :lol

I was in a really weird mood yesterday evening and went totally hyper, and kept babbling uncontrollably at my poor Mother. After a while I noticed how quiet she was, and I asked her if she was allright. Her response? "Yes Willow!"
