Edited to add: A bit spoilery to people who haven't seen "The Crush"

Wow, that was cool... first time I have seen it, and I was all like "OMG! Alicia is such a bitch in this film!!" And she fixed up the horse so that Cheyenne fell off, I so hated her!! and then the bit near the end when Cheyenne went into the house, and Nick was looking for her.. I was really worried something had happened to her! But it didn't show that she was alright after he found her! They just showed Alicia crunching over another guy! Like we care about her! lol... ok I am waaay too obsessed with Amber Benson... actually, that isn't a bad thing! :tara :tara :tara :tara ok I'm done ;) :bounce luv Salem xxx :tara :love 's :willow and :willow :love 's :tara

P.S. just love that quote:

Adrienne: Aren't you going to tell me to break a leg?

Cheyenne: Break them both!

Buffy: Willow, check you out! Witch-fu!

Willow: It's no big. You just have to balance the elements so when you affect one, you don't wind up causing... I didn't do it! I didn't do it!

Spoilers....

I finaly got to see this and, you know what, it ain't a bad film. I enjoyed it and Amber having a fairly big role just added to it. The villain was a right bitch and it was well directed.

Also i was worried Amber had been hurt or something so was really relieved how it turned out!

Anyone know if 'The Crush' will screen here in australia any time soon? Plus, has anybody have screen caps up from the film or any of Amber's other movies?

I missed this film when it was on :cry and I'm kicking myself about that now. I'm considering whether or not to order it or to save my money for 'Taboo' and/or 'Chance'. What do you think?

Can someone please tell me what happens to Amber's character. I heard somewhere that she dies.

chilled monkey, Amber is adorable in this movie and her role is important, but she doesn't have a huge amount of screen time. She's there at the beginning, then comes and goes throughout the rest of the flick. My own feeling is that if money is a consideration, it would be better to just wait for this movie to be shown on TV again, rather than buying it. As far as the fate of Amber's character in the movie..

IIRC, she survives.

I really enjoyed The Crush. It's not great cinema but it's fun. Alicia Silverstone's the main character, Cheyenne's her best friend, & AS's character is mean to Amber's. Grrr - needs a good slapping :mad

Watching The Crush reminded me of the Bargaining running in the cemetary scene. In the opening sequence, I noticed that Tara was the 2nd runner after Spike, followed by Giles. I thought that was funny b/c BTVS was trying to tell us (when BTVS used to be subtle) that Tara was in better shape/better runner than Giles. I appreciated the sentiment although I thought it was unlikely. (for those of you who don't remember, think "long red leather jacket tara", mmmm)

Part of the reason I thought it was unlikely was the way Tara ran in that scene. As soon as I saw it, I thought "ha ha! Amber runs like a girl." This wasn't meant to be insulting. It's just that she doesn't run like someone who plays a lot of sports (like most boys are socialized to do) or someone who runs a lot.

I watched The Crush a little while after seeing Bargaining and didn't know who Amber was going to play. As I watched, someone came on screen, with the shot first lingering on their jean clad legs. My thoughts were, in order: "Hmmm, that person runs like a girl. Oh, wait a minute, I betcha that's Amber. (sees Amber's face) Yup, she runs exactly the same now. " I had a little chuckle over that.

The Crush a fun movie (altho' I must say, the plot is predictable, and I could see most of the developments coming from like a zillion miles off). But it's still fun. For anyone who hasn't seen it, I recommend it, especially if you like Alicia Silverstone (she's very pretty/ sexy in this) or Cary Elwell (sp?). Amber doesn't have a huge role, but she certainly has enough screen time to make it worth checking out. It's nifty to see her back when she was fairly young, and there's also the added neatness of seeing her on horseback--I hadn't realized she could ride before I saw this film.

Fun that I should see this thread now, 'cause it arrived in the mail just a few days ago! It's weird and freaksome and while yes, I agree with whoever said you can see everything coming 1000 and 6 miles off, you still have to go 'ooh shite' at some points.

Plus, it's fun to look and see 'wow, she [Benson, o'course] looked so different!'. Because she did, obviously :sigh

It's kinda funny because about 5 or 6 years ago, I remember watching that movie. Not really know who the cast members were, I just thought that it was a pretty screwy movie, :D . Now, knowing what I know.....WAHOO, Amber is in it, heehee. Doesn't she look so cute in it? I still like to just watch the movie, just because she is in it....... =)

The Crush was one Dutch TV a few weeks ago. I had seen it years ago before I knew who Amber was. I liked the movie. I really like Alicia Silverstone and I think she was great in it. So was Amber, she only has a small part, but she played it very well I think. They easily outacted the guy who played that journalist. It's definitely a must see if you are an Amber fan.

I have to cut Cary Elwes some slack as, even though his part is a plot device, the straight-man foil to Alicia Silverstone's psychotic Lolita nut-job role, I keep reminding myself that he was The Dread Pirate Wesley in "The Princess Bride."

He earned his cred with that role and even managed to have some screen time with Amber as well.

How lucky can an actor be?

I just downloaded the clips from this film and Amber is freakin' adorable! I had seen it when it first came out but I was like 13 back then and didn't know about Amber. She doesn't have a big role but it's worth seeing just because she's so damn cute. :x
As one, they turn to the soda machine. It flies back into the door like a cannonball. Willow looks at it, at Tara. She doesn't let go of her hand.

And so young -- does anyone know how old AB was when she did this film?

She looks like she is about 16 or 17.
