Finding Nemo

Well I finally saw this movie on DVD. I enjoyed it more than I expected. It was visually stunning and generally amusing. I prefer Lilo and Stitch, but it isn't a competition, heh. I was expecting to be annoyed by Dory and her short term memory loss, but instead I found her to be very sweet, lovable and funny. The total opposite from Marlin. He annoyed the shit out of me most of the time. I can understand why he'd be overprotective after his wife and 400+ offspring got eaten, but after the tenth or so time his paranoia and mistrust almost got himself and Dory killed I felt like feeding him to those gulls (who were really funny as well btw). So now I think that is Marlin sushi as well. Anyway, I'm glad I bought the DVD.

I love that movie! I just wish they hadn't fired Megan Mullally I would have loved it even more then. Heh.

So I assume Megan Mullaly was playing Dory? I had no idea! I had the impression they'd written it with Ellen in mind.

I am willing to bet that Ellen improved alot of that like Robin Williams did in the first Alladin. I got a real kick out of her.

I had to look up who Megan Mullally is. I know her only from Will and Grace. If that is her real voice then I am glad she did not get to voice Dory. That may work on Will and Grace, but not for Dory. If it is not her real voice then I am still glad she did not voice Dory. I can´t imagine anyone having done a better job than Ellen did.

No worries, that's definitely not her normal voice. Given Dory's character, I can't really see anyone other than Ellen doing it. Megan Mullaly is very talented and funny, but I'm glad Dory was Ellen.

I actually heard that when they were planning Finding Nemo they had always had Ellen in mind for the role. Im sure I read that that is why she took it because they wrote it for her.

I love this film it's so funny, and i just love cartoons i'm such a big kid! I thought Dory was a wicked character, she was soooo funny, she had me in bits. She had some class lines. I loved the turtoise too, 'hey dude', could not stop laughing! Think Ellen did a great job, personally i can't see anyone else doing it any better, her voice totally matched Dorys chacracter.

My gf and I adore this film, and we were having a lazy day on Monday and watched the film with commentary. Andrew Stanton said that he always wanted Ellen as Dory. Actually he said that his wife was watching Ellen on tv and that Ellen had changed subjects about 5 times in a sentence and he thought - "that's Dory!".
