To do in the next... 18 hours...
- Finish packing after sleeping for an inadequate amount of time
- Make sure my duffel gets in the car
- Get coffee
- Drive for 3 hours, possibly 4 depending on if I get stuck in Boston area traffic
- Call friend, tell her how to get into the house to let the dog out
- Stop at Kohls to try to find a white dress that fits me decently for grad
- Arrive at freshie orientation! So excited!

Homework due Friday:
4 hours of observation (not started)

Having no motivation to do ANYTHING
Missing my morning run today, and feeling so bummed that I even blew off the gym
Having no work scheduled for the next 3 weeks
Worrying about my best friend

Lite matches
Drive a car
Ride a bike
Swim without holding my nose
Force myself to do homework

Good I've done this year:
Donated all my change each time I walked by Austin Pets Alive
Donated blood (one failed attempt, once successful)
Donated to Red Nose Day for Christmas (and a few birthday) presents
Let many random strangers use my phone
Ratted out a young teenage (about 13 or 14) boy to his mum for having a cigarette
Gave what love I could to the children in my care

Bad I've done this year:
Left a 1 year old unsupervised for about 30 seconds
Spent most of my money selfishly
Failed to make a trip to my grandmother a priority
Half-assed my way through my job for months
"To days to come."

So far in 2012, I've:
-Sent and received a couple New-Year-wishing texts
-Seen a firework
-Gotten a short but extremely squee-worthy message from my crush
-Watched Dr. Horrible's Sing Along Blog
-Fallen down the stairs, dropping my good laptop in the process (though it thankfully seems fine)
-Eaten cheese

If the start is any indication of the whole, it should be an interesting year...

Done since I got home from work:

Emptied dishwasher
Washed dishes and loaded dishwasher
Washed dishes and put in drain basket
Made tea
Moved laundry from washer to dryer
Folded laundry
Put away my laundry
Made dinner: mac & cheese for Chiara, fries for all of us, green beans for all of us, fish sticks for me, an apple for Asher.

I love my wife but I bet I do more housework than any other spouse of a stay-at-home mom at all.

Re: Lists

Postby BeMyDeputy » Thu Feb 16, 2012 3:45 pm

My last 24 hours:

-Sleep until 3:30 pm 15 February
-Wake up at 3:30, but stay in bed
-When Adam gets home (5:30), make him play something handheld, so I can curl up around him for half an hour, since I won't be seeing him for 24 hours.
-Get up, get dressed, and head to the lab via the grocery store to buy some Mt. Dew
-Work at the lab (7:00 pm - 9:00am). Discover that I had done the wrong thing, and that I barely have time to do the right thing before lab meeting. Play Offspring really fucking loud in the lab in response. Get really frustrated when step one of doing the right thing goes wrong time after time, meaning I won't have my pretty picture for my boss for lab meeting.
-Lab meeting. (9:00-10:00) I have something, which is better than nothing. But not what I wanted to have.
-Come to school. Print notes out for open-note exam. Notes I was trying to study overnight, but instead ran around trying to deal with having done the wrong thing.
-Go to exam. Discover that exam is also open-computer. I didn't need to print out shit. Those poor trees!
-Sit exam. Successfully answer my eight of twelve questions (we only had to answer eight) as well as an extra credit question. Even if I'm the next to last one who turned in my test.
-Lunch
-Prepare to call my mom for her birthday, but discover that somehow my phone has died. I swear it was full at four in the morning . . . I suppose I then proceeded to use it for its internet at work (I don't have internet at work other than my phone). Fuck.
-Plug phone in to charge and pull up the board.
-Now.

Things I need to do today:
-Wait an hour until my next class begins.
-Fail to fall asleep in class. It's a seminar, and so it's staying awake through some guest lecture about some random topic. I usually like them, but today I'm not enthused.
-Drive home safely in San Diego rush hour traffic
-Stay awake long enough to call my mom for her birthday. My mom who usually talks longer than my phone battery can take, even from full.
-Reconsider posting this account of my day, because I'l probably get screamed at over it.
More of a dog person, myself.
I'm from Iowa, we drive four hours for a high school football game.
