Candleshoe, I sort of misspoke - they are called Rock Cornish game hens and are a crossbreed between the Cornish chicken and the Rock chicken, first bred in Connecticut in 1950. They are basically immature chickens, enough for one serving per hen per person.

Of that desciption, the words "first bred in Connecticut in 1950" were the most comforting. I had a sudden panic that there was a whole type of British chicken that I hadn't heard of!

Apropos of nothing, Stuff I've Gotten In The Mail:
  • many, many action figures (the stores here are pretty limited)
  • the ongoing JMS Babylon 5 Script Books
  • signed Ambery goodness (Chance, photos, Ghosts of Albion novels)
  • a chicken cannon (thanks Mary :peace )
  • Skullz
  • a Warhammer 40k hockey jersey
  • various DVDs (including lots of luscious Emma Peel)
  • a model of Babylon 5 (subsequently assembled and painted as a thank-you for the guy who hosted me and various others at his place every Sunday for months while we watched the entire show)
  • Macho Women With Guns (the role-playing game, though the description applies to a bunch of the figures, too)
  • my ADSL modem
  • CN's lovely gift packs for Watchers staff
  • the Sensational She-Hulk graphic novel ('89, I think)
And, two lists for the price of one, Stuff I've Sent In The Mail:
  • Bits of Apocalypse and a Sentinel
  • more Skullz
  • a White Dwarf magazine
  • Cheeto's (probably in violation of some kind of quarantine, but eh)
  • a die-cast miniature Doctor Who and Bessie
  • Various scripts and proposals (not the wedding kind)
  • a Warhammer 40k War Hawks Chaplain (had to be glued back together at the other end, thanks customs...)

So true. Rain on hot cement is a fantastic smell.

Things I Miss About My Ex:
    holding hands at the movies
watching her read while I indulge in my passion for televised footboll
making her coffee in the morning
kissing her still-sleeping forehead before leaving for work
spending the entire weekend in bed, getting up only for food and drink
meeting people and having them say that we look perfect together - like we were meant to be

guess I'm feeling a bit melancholy today. It's been years (with a couple other women inbetween), you'd think I'd be over her by now, eh?

-Houseflies!!!
-Buzzing flying annoying insects
-Any insects or non-human, invertebrate animals found in my bed (so far, none, thank God)

List of things that annoyed me today.

1. They way holland seems to be bathed in cheap orange plastic flags during the World Soccer Cup.
2. The way the paper shredder at work caught hold of my coat when I was shredding a piece of paper on the way out and tore up my sleeve.
3. Cranky busdrivers.
4. Elevators that get stuck for no apparent reason and have you sitting in a tiny sweatbox hanging four meters off the ground for fifteen minutes.
5. Learning that no local TV station is running Ren and Stimpy anymore.

List of things that counteract my foul mood induced by the previous lists.

1. The new Hitman game is out.
2. Secretly hoping our country's soccer-team will crash and burn early into the WK, so I'll be free of this orange hell I'm currently living in.
3. The new portable fan I just bought. Ah, bliss...
4. Ren & Stimpy episodes downloaded from the web.

So I did my list of slow, sensual songs.

Now I need to make a CD of somewhat *cough* raunchier *cough* songs.

On the list so far.......

Maroon 5 - Harder To Breathe
Evanescence - Breathe Me To Life
Melissa Ferrick - Drive (yes, this is on both lists)

I need at least 15, maybe 20 - so please throw your suggestions at me -you can even PM me with them!

Thank you!
