People I need to email ASAP, as soon as I get my inbox cleaned out:

~My sister. She and my friends have an "Overheard in New York"-style quotes livejournal (http://quotemenow.livejournal.com) for funny things we hear around campus, and I want her to post something from a while ago. The post-it has been sitting on my desk for weeks.

~My lit professor, to discuss topics for my term paper due in two weeks.

~A family friend who recently took a trip to Antarctica. She gave us a DVD with photos from her trip, and one of them- of a penguin looking out on an ice-covered landscape- would make a great desktop background. Unfortunately, the formatting of the disc makes it impossible for me to save the picture off it onto my computer. So I want her to send me the digital photo over email.

~The coordinator of lectors at my home church. He needs to know that I want to read the lessons occasionally while I'm home for the summer.

People I have successfully emailed tonight:

~The coordinator of the Shakespeare study tour, to let her know I'm interested and get more info.

~The new co-presidents of the GSA, to see if they wanted me to send a notification about tomorrow's meeting out for them. (Technically, they emailed me first, but it still got done, so yay.)

~An old friend who lives in Egypt and came to MD two years ago as an exchange student. I really want to know how she's doing.

~My parents.

Things I noticed about Las Vegas:

1. You are never the fattest, ugliest, or most fashion challenged person in the room.

2. Watch out for big red trucks. They think they own the road.

3. Never be surprised if you run into Elvis anywhere.

4. If you see Fred Flintstone on a cell phone, remind yourself that it's just Vegas and stuff like that happens everyday.

5. Cirque de Soleil does, in fact, own Las Vegas. Simple fact.

6. It may be a dry heat, but so is your oven.
