Well, I had a particularly bad week at work and my best friend is being kinda witchy (and not in a good W/T sex-metaphor kinda way), so I thought I'd try to pep myself up by doing something I've never done before - this was all I could come up with. I haven't been able to access the board all summer (moved home from school, dad's not very accepting of healthy relationships, let alone healthy lesbian relationships), and I must say it hasn't been easy dealing with her death alone, without a support system like the board... I've been contemplating making my "pitch" here for a while now (too long, in the over-thinking). It has seemed to me that the whole notion of the Personal Ad was way too much like a resume: "See how wonderful I am! Hire, er, date me!" And, as I haven't been in the resume mode of late (s-t-r-e-t-c-h-i-n-g "late" for years), it seemed somehow inapropo to try to "sell" myself here.



But heck, Life's Too Short: instead of waiting to get my life together before advertising, maybe some brave (not to mention yummy!) soul-sistah would like to get in on the ground floor, as it were.



Feh, enough of the standard Gatito verbosity (of the prelim sort . . . onto the main event!).



I'm 40, going on 15 (as in "What am I gonna do when I grow up?"). I have misty water-color memories of when I had Life Figured Out but, as Billy Joel (Is he more or less obscure than Dylan? ) once sang "I've found that just surviving is in itself a noble goal."



On the upside, being immature means that the nice folks checking my ID seem to think I'm half my actual age---go figure!



I live in southern Michigan and, when I'm not devoting all (!) my time to Buffy-related surfing, I'm completing a doctorate in the field of religion. (Date me now, before the competition for "Doctor Gatito" heats up! ).



What else? I'm of the XX variety, and you should be too. I'm pretty butch on the inside, but in relatively femme packaging (think "Xena" w/o the height or cheekbones!). I can "clean up" well, I think, in formal wear of either flavor.



I don't smoke, and can't tolerate that in an SO, sorry. I enjoy the fruit of the vine or the hops, in moderation. It would probably be best if you, like me, had outgrown the experimentation phase regarding any other mind-alterers.



Religion is my vocation as well as avocation. Though that means something specific on Sunday mornings (my local Episcopal Church), more broadly defined, is that to which one binds oneself (Not just for S&M anymore! ). In that sense, I'm a person who tends to become tremendously devoted to that which I believe(d) in: whether that be the Famous Peacenik of Nazareth, Willow&Tara, my (truly and finally Over Now) former marriage or, well, You.



If You have that certain something (and taking a shine to Freaky Ol' Me goes a long way in that department!), and wanna shimmy* on over my way, you'll find that I can be Quite the Huggy Bear (and/or a hornier version thereof!)

Hmm... well here goes nothing then... i've been contemplating on whether or not I wanted to post on this thread... but the lack of ANYTHING resembling ANY kind of relationship at all in my life has lead me to think "why the heck not"? After all who better to meet than Buffy fans!

I'm an aspiring makeup artist, and before that I was attending school and majoring in drama... before that, i was a music major... yeah music is a HUGE-mongous part of my life. Sooo... i buy tons of cd's and my taste in music ranges from oldies to the obscure... I'll give everything a shot but I mostly stay far away from mainstream music.. it just isn't doing anything for me anymore.



I love anything dealing with art...museums, art galleries, SOME performance art... i was reading an article on a scientific study which found that people who major in art or have art related careers usually have emotional problems or low self esteem... while that would have been really true a few years ago, i think i am confident in who I have become... which is a big goofy idiot





I'm a big movie buff... very into cult classics,indie and foriegn films ... LOVE scary movies... nothing like blood and guts! I also like to go to shows and listen to live music... there is nothing better i like to do than to have a cold drink (or two...) and listen to some music!

Hmmm, singles thread, might as well give it a bash, you're only young once right? I'm 23, live just outside London, UK, am a projectionist by trade so I love films with a passion and apparently come loaded with a fully developed sense of sarcasm. I always thought I came... oh no wait, overshare there

I graduated in 2000 with a BA Hons in English and Media, and am currently locked up for 9 hours a day in a delightful multiplex while I try and figure out what I want to 'do' with my life

I'm a big music fan and have got over 20 gig of music on my hard drive so it's kinda hard to pick favourite artists etc 'cos I pretty much listen to anything and everything, but I do seem to be going through a singer/songwriter phase at the minute with Gemma Hayes, Vanessa Carlton and Beth Orton at the top of my playlist. Having said that, I am also a huge Nine Inch Nails fan so I guess I'm a little eclectic when it comes to music.

I love going to gigs and checking out new bands, and am looking to meet/chat/harrass/form deep and meaningful connections involving ice cream and scarves any like minded peeps out there who reckon they can handle an eccentric projectionist with great night vision

I'm fully house trained and have been known to threaten a kitchen with my presence on occasion, tho admittedly the least said about the Weetabix and tea towel incident last month the better

I like Buffy, Willow and Tara of course, reading...I'm a book addict. If you've seen Kissing Jessica Stein, her place with all the books...yeah my place looks something like that. I really like Sci-Fi movies...Star Trek Nemisis is coming out tomorrow. I like any genre of movies really, but Sci-Fi would be my favorite. I do alot of volunteer work. Like all kinds of music, except ones that advocate violence towards others. Oh and I'm kinda shy, really nice and have a big heart. Thats pretty much it...I'm not use to talking about myself alot.
