Triangle Tara for Trevor Project

From November 7th-15th, Amber Benson will be holding a special fundraiser. During this week, Benson Entertainment's "Triangle Tara" will be available for $100, all proceeds will be donated to The Trevor Project. Tara will be signed and personalized!

Following that week from 11/16 - 12/25, you will still be able to get a doll but for $125. During this time period, 50% of the proceeds will be donated to the Trevor Project.

Kittens will remember that we once raised over $10,000 for the Trevor Project. It's an amazing charity that is here to help our gay youth.

If you cannot afford one of the dolls, I encourage you to donate anyway. Our kids are still in jeopardy, bullying and suicide are still an unfortunate reality for our young LGBT people. If you can, please donate any amount.

If you donate at least $10 directly to The Trevor Project you'll be elligible for a special drawing. Just send your receipt to bensonentertainment@hotmail.com Three winners will each receive one signed/personalized item. Prizes to be announced at the time of the drawing!

Amber Benson is offering signed Triangle Tara dolls with all the proceeds going to The Trevor Project beginning November 7th thru December 31st.

The Trevor Project is an outreach program for LGBTQ (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender and Questioning) youth in crisis.

During the first week the doll will be sold for $100 (US) (shipping is free during the whole sale period) with 100% of the proceeds being donated, and after the first week the cost of the doll will be $125 (US) with 50% of the proceed will be donated.

If you can't afford the doll there is also information on how to donate directly to The Trevor Project. If you donate $10 or more and send the receipt to bensonemterntainment@hotmail.com you will be entered into a raffle for one of three prizes drawn.

Ok, now that I sound like an spokesperson for the whole idea, I just thought I'd share since this is a very worthy cause and a wonderful way to spread some good over the holiday season. The small things count!

This is a wonderful cause. I'm so pleased that Amber is doing this for the LGBTQ community. Really,, it benefits the world, regardless whether you are gay or straight. Anything that saves lives and gives support to youths in crisis benefits everyone.

All this bullying and homophobia putting our youths at risk has got to STOP. Please spread the word on Amber's new fundraiser and donate whatever you can.

I contributed, you can too. Every donation counts and will help LGBTQ youths across the nation.

This is such an important and timely charity that when Amber puts out the call, I can only answer with my support in purchasing another Triangle Tara to line up with the one from the L.A. food bank last year and the one which helped finance "Lovers, Liars, and Lunatics."
I was so proud of my home state of Iowa when the Supreme Court ruled in favor of same-sex marriage but was deeply ashamed when the voters last week threw out the Chief Justice and the two associate justices who were in favor of the ruling.
My conscience is clear as I voted to retain them but it sullies all of the work and the striving to ensure that everone has the right to love whom they choose.
It all comes back to Amber's quote: "It doesn't matter who you're sleeping with. What matteris is how you treat people."
Thank you, Amber, for letting me be a part of trying to redress the balance my fellow Iowans have perpetrated upon the GLBT community.

As an Iowan, I was equally dismayed by this development. Thankfully, despite the horrid result here, it is completely unlikely that the law will be reversed- it is, right now, the law and it will not be coming back to the Supreme Court for any reconsideration. The bad is that forces are preventing democratic governor CHet Culver from making lame duck appointments, since Terry Brandstadt will be replacing him in January and will get to appoint 3 new justices, all of which will in some estimation be conservative. This will hurt future efforts, but for now, the law is what it is. And Amber is doing good again.

I think a big hand needs to go out to Xita and all the folks that have given of their time, love, and expertise to make the Kittenboard what it is - we wouldn't have a home if it weren't for you!

More proof that even what may seem like a small action on one persons part can accomplish so much more in our community; absolutely the ripple effect or karma or the law of three (my personal favorite) - what you put out there comes back threefold!
