Okay, so who wants a bit of Willow & Tara sweetness?
Everyone? Hmm, okay, lets see what I can do for you....

After packing away their picnic and buying the children ice-pops, Xander, Willow and Tara decided that it was time to head home. Walking along, each child seemed to allocate themselves an adult to walk with. Ryan clung tightly to his father’s hand; Julia claimed her mommy’s hand and Lydia had shyly asked if Tara would hold her hand, smiling brilliantly as Tara gently slipped her hand into the little girls own.
“Daddy, can I have a bunny?” Ryan asked for the eighth time since leaving the playground.
“Your mom doesn’t like them Ry.”
“But, they’re cute and their noses do this.” The little boy scrunched up his nose in his best impression of a rabbit.
“Yeah, and they give good hugs, and eat lettuce and other yucky green stuff.” Julia jumped in, trying to aid Ryan’s case.
“Good points, all, and if it was up to me you could have a pet rabbit. But Ryan, your mom really doesn’t like them.”
“Oh. Can I have a frog?” The little boy compromised.
“Eeewww, frogs are horrible. They’re all slimy and they hop about all over with their big bulgy eyes. And, and they make those big mean croaky noises, and their tongues just whip out really fast and really long. Then there’s the way that they can’t decide where to live, I mean, you’re not safe anywhere. They’ll get you if you’re in the water and they’ll get you if you’re on the ground.” Lydia, who shared her mother’s fear of frogs, shuddered as she babbled on about all of the things that she hated about the small amphibians.
“You are so much like your mommy.” Tara voiced her thoughts to the little girl affectionately. “Absolutely adorable.” She finished the thought, looking straight at Willow as she did so.
Willow simply blushed.
“Well, this is our stop.” Xander pointed out as they neared his front garden. “I’ll see you at Buffy’s tomorrow Will?”
“Yup, five ‘o’ clock sharp. Don’t be late Xand; you know how much Dawn’s been stressing about this thing.”
“No worries Will, I won’t let the Dawnster down.” Turning to Tara, Xander once again engulfed the blonde in a friendly hug. “Tara, it’s been great catching up, don’t be a stranger okay?”
“I, I’ll try not to be.” Tara smiled gratefully.
“I’ll see you tomorrow Ry. Don’t pester your mom about a rabbit too much okay?” Willow winked conspiratorially at her nephew.
“Okay. Bye auntie Will. Bye Lee-lee, bye Jool-ya, bye Tara.” The little boy called out as he ran down the garden path to the front door.
After walking in a slightly nervous silence for a few minutes, Tara decided to initiate some kind of conversation with Willow.
“So uhm, w-what’s tomorrow?”
“Oh, Dawn’s big day. She’s bringing her girlfriend, oh no, sorry, her fiancée, home to meet us all. Buffy’s already met her and seems to like her.”
“L-little Dawnie has a fiancée?” Tara exclaimed in disbelief.
“Yeah, she’s not so little any more. She’s just graduated from UCLA, that’s where she met Kate, a fellow law student.”
“Dawn’s a lawyer?”
“Not just yet, no. But, she’s well on her way.”
“Wow, s-so much has changed. You have kids; Xander and Anya a-are married with a second child on the way; Dawn’s gay, and engaged, and almost a lawyer. What else is d-different?”
“Uhm, actually I think that’s everything. Buffy’s still Buffy, she teaches gym at the new high school. Oh, and Giles moved back to England. There was some kind of a coo at the watcher’s council and he ended up taking over as the big boss. He came over for Dawn’s graduation, but he only stayed a few days. He said he’d come back for longer when Anya has the baby.”
Several gentle drops of rain began to fall, interrupting the two wiccans’ conversation.
“Mommy it’s raining!” The twins called out, running down the street towards their house.
Before Willow and Tara had the sense to move the heaven’s opened and the gentle rain drops became a heavy downpour. Before she realised what she was doing, Tara reached out to grab Willow’s hand and the two women ran to Willow’s house.
“Get the key mommy, quickly, open the door.”
Once on the relatively dry front porch Willow set down the picnic basket and fumbled around in her pockets for the door key. Finally locating her keys she opened the door and everyone quickly stumbled into the house just as a loud clap of thunder roared through the darkened sky.
After ensuring that Lydia and Julia were both nice and dry, Willow turned her attention to an extremely wet and shivering Tara.
“Well, it looks like you’re stuck here for a while. That’s not a problem is it? I mean, I can call you a taxi if there’s somewhere you need to be?”
“N-no, I was just gonna go home and w-watch some TV.” Tara assured Willow that she was happy to spend more time with her and the girls.
“Okay, good. Oh, look at you, you’re all wet and cold; you need to get dried up. Erm, the bathroom is just upstairs, the, the first door on your left, there should be plenty of towels in there. You can borrow some of my clothes if you want, while we dry yours off.”
“Uhm, Will. Y-you’re kinda soaked too. Aren’t you gonna d-dry off?”
Finally taking in her own appearance, Willow realised that she was in fact, soaked to the skin.
“Oh, I am a bit wet aren’t I? Okay, so we both need to get dried up. Uhm, Julia can you turn the heating on please baby? Then, why don’t you two put on a DVD or something while Tara and I go get changed.”
“Okay mommy.” The twins answered in unison.
Tara followed Willow up the stairs, noting the pictures of Lydia and Julia which ran along the wall.
“Cute pictures.” The blonde commented.
“Well, I’m a little biased, but, yeah they are.” Willow smiled a smile full of maternal pride. “Every year Buffy and Dawn club together and pay for them to go to a professional shoot for their birthday. The twins love it; they get to play dress up and pretend to be models for an afternoon.”
“Sounds like fun.”
“Yep, lots of fun.”
Entering the bathroom Willow located a number of towels, and then left Tara to get dried while she went to look for some dry clothes.
A few minutes later Willow was dry and changed, she knocked softly on the bathroom door.
“Tara, I, I have some dry clothes for you. Shall I uhm… I’ll just, leave them outside the door and…” Before she could finish her sentence Tara, dressed just in Willow’s fluffy yellow bath rode, opened the bathroom door and reached for the clothes.
“Thanks Willow, I, I r-really appreciate this.”
“Oh it’s uhm, just some, some err, sweat pants and a, a sweater. It’s no biggie.” The redhead was slightly dumbfounded by the sight of Tara in the rather short robe, her smooth, creamy legs on show. “You, uhm, you can bring your clothes down and I’ll put them in the drier, wet towels go in the hamper.” Willow quickly retreated down the stairs in order to stop herself from staring at (and drooling over) Tara’s legs.
