I love it! Absolutely, one hundred percent, love it! In fact, this update spurred me to read a few other stories about the beginning of our girls' relationship this morning before I passed back out for two more hours lol...such a nice middle of the night break in sleep though! I'm tempted to go back and reread some of the story just to see the little details I'm sure I've missed in my first reading. As careful as I am now, when I first started this story I admit I was so enthralled by it that I rushed through each update trying to catch up. Bad kitten. Baaad. Thank you so much! More please

Great update. Definitely make my first day back to school after Spring Break worth while.

I loved all the references to the show and putting them in "real life" scenarios.

Has the penguin key chain been mentioned before? This fic is so long I can't remember. I'm wondering if you had written enough of the plot ahead of time to mention it and this was the explanation of where it came from. (If this isn't the case, don't feel bad. This is an amazing story and you've already surpassed anything I think to come up with. )

I know you can't spend too much time on what happened to everyone else in this very different universe, but i really liked how you incorporated all that stuff from the show happening in a non-supernatural universe. And above all making it sound so logical instead of forced. (Is Amy married to a guy we met on the show?)

Just shows how they hit it off from the beginning; they were meant to be together.

Liked the little incorporation of political humor; I do little political and religious references in my own stories sometimes.

Thing is, the prior references to "that day in the park" indicated it wasn't a casual thing like this has been so far. I'm assuming they're remebering how it ended, which I guess means we have some upcoming tension.

awwww the penguin key chain idea was perfect! I remember this one time at pre-college we had to sketch the penguins at the zoo in new york city and all the little kids were running around it was really fun. I ended up buying my friend a stuffed polar bear and this chapter reminded me of that lol :] Thank you so much for updating you just made my day!

Hihi, it was really funny how you "adjusted" the graduation speech to a non-hellmouth-y environment. The quip about Angel only entering a house when he is invited, cracked me up.
My God, Willow and Tara are really frustrating but in a hilarious way. "If you have something else to do today" - "If you are sick of me..."
The pinguin was a very cute idea... I'm guessing we can still find this pinguin with Tara's keys in the "present"?

Heather, Absolutely delightful! I’m really feeling nostalgic for the days when BTVS was in its first run, watching the budding relationship between Willow and Tara. I remember how excited we all were at every subtle touch and look and speculating how far they will take the relationship, if they would ever kiss, etc. This is, so far, exactly as I would have expected were it not for the creepy gentlemen floating in to steal hearts. Funny that many hearts were stolen that night.. ours! There’s a ton more here than referencing “Pangs.” You’ve incorporated so much from the show, weaving it into the dialog with such skill, that it feels completely natural. Much applause for that!

They say a cat picks you, you don’t pick the cat, so I assume Miss Kitty hasn’t been born yet. Just so you know.. I expect her to make an appearance before seeing the words The End, or Fin. Anyway, I love the teasing and both trying to make sure the other is enjoying the day. Even though Willow has never been there, she’s willing to go where she thinks Tara will have the most fun, and in turn, Tara realizes Willow’s strong academic interests declining the invite to the art museum. Right away they are developing a relationship based on compromise and sensitivity to each other’s feelings.

I knew your Xander was too good to be true. He’s a hypochondriac that turns hangnails into amputation? Glad I wasn’t drinking anything when I read that.. too too funny! So.. they go in a gift shop and, instead of buying souvenirs for any of her established friends, Willow elects to surprise Tara with a small token of appreciation for her adventures in “babysitting.” My heart has officially been turned to mush!

Taking this little detour through the day in park was, IMHO, the right decision. It’s a very important moment and I would much rather have this mystery resolved before getting to the nitty gritty of opening that closet door. Weaving it into the present time would have been a frustrating distraction and lessened the impact of the story. Plus, it’s nice to enjoy a bit of calm before(flinch)/after(coming out) the storm. I want to know when Willow realized she was gay and why she kept it a secret from all but Xander. A few people have said they really don’t care about this part of story. Well, I care little about Willow’s talk with Shelia. Nothing her mother can say will change anything, so I care only because it is the first step in Willow’s plan to finally being honest about whom she is AND who she loves.

Excellent update and I hope you get the puppy trained soon so there’s less cleaning time and more writing time! Thanks muchly!

Update! And I so needed a pick me up. And it was great. We've all been waiting for so long for the infamous park scene.

You seriously have such a great hand when it comes to your descriptions. Every time I read your updates I feel like I'm actually right in the middle of the action which makes it so much more enjoyable to read.

Anyway very cute park outing for the girls. I love the penguin key chain Willow bought. So adorable.

Thank you for another lovely chapter. It was great fun to read and I loved the way you wove in elements from the series.

I think this story within a story will only add to the present day conclusion. I know you’ve had Tara reflect on how Willow was in the park, but ‘seeing’ her be so affectionate really highlights the contrast with the tense, withdrawn woman who moves into the apartment.

Personally, I don’t see their time apart as a terrible waste, as I don’t think that the Willow of three years earlier could have made Tara happy. (‘I love you, but in front of my mom or Xander or Buffy – or in public- can we pretend to be just friends?’) Another ‘Jill’ experience would have destroyed Tara. I’m not sure she would have been strong enough at that time to even take the risk.

Three years later, things are different. Neither woman has spent the intervening time in a corner, pining. Both have built up successful careers. Tara has survived a lot of grief with her family. Willow has come a long way along the road to acceptance of herself. By the start of Neverland, their connection has been tested by time and distance and only grown stronger. To me, the separation doesn’t feel contrived, or a plot device. It’s part of the character development that I enjoy so much in your story.

... That walk through the park complete with all the intimate details of life in San Francisco have completely won me over. There was a kind of an exotic charm in your writing especially as you depict a world I have as yet accessed so for me personally, my focus was more on the surroundings than on the blossoming love between these two girls.

And that is where I have to admit you are a very skilled writer.

I really enjoy your writing and your story. You are amazing!

Hiya Heather! Once again you are painting such a wonderful picture that it's like we are actually visiting the museum, aquarium, etc. right along with them. It's so cute how they both have the same insecurities, give each other the little glances, and of course, I love how for some reason, Willow's eyes just happen to keep glancing at Tara's chest. I can totally relate and can picture that whole thing, and I wonder if Willow actually realizes she might be doing it for other reasons than just to read the words or look at the picture on it. That just strikes me as very funny.

Like the others, I also think it's so cool how you're incorporating some of canon into this minus the hellmouth factor. Pangs is actually one of my favorite eps. I still laugh everytime I watch it, especially when Spike is full of arrows and is telling Buffy to "undo it" when she makes a bear, and of course also Xander's funny syphilis.

So much going on here, and now I really can't wait to see what else happened that day, especially if it gets us closer to the big talk. I'm here, trying to be patient, but it's oh so hard, but loving every minute of your delicious torture, as usual.

When I don't have time to feedback very thoroughly at least I can comfort myself that I'm saving you from having to spend as much time on your response.

I don't mind the 3 years ago part at all. I think it's lovely and really my favorite part. You want to know a secret? I usually only read meeting and falling in love stories. When I open a thread and it's season 5 and they are already a couple, I don't usually read those because I love the falling in love part. Even when reading shorts, that's true for me. So I'm happy to read the 3 years ago. I think it was just a shock to me to realize that we're nearly to the finish line after so many years and suddenly we're going to turn sideways for a long time.

Anyway... to this update. It's all there. The lovely glances, insecurities, awkwardness of "friend of a friend spending the day together. And there's a surprising amount of sexual tension. Their conversation flows quite nicely. It's nothing too deep. It's not "where do you stand on heaven and hell and where would you rank the Beatles, Doors, Stones, Coldplay, or Destiny's child in the all time Musical greats lists..." but it's a really comfortable and get-to-know you bit. The narration of their walking to the park and talking reminded me of the time they went walking ... I think the day that Willow and Tara went to Anya's art shop and I commented on your facility for explaining their walking, looking, talking, flirting, all together very smoothly. It's not... overly microscopic if that makes sense but it's rich and detailed and lovely to read.

Well, this was longer than I thought and I've got to get in the shower for work. Hi to the wife and how is your son? What's he doing these days? Is he still 1? 2? 2 was a really fun age for both our kids.

Great update! Love all the little details you put in, and like JustSkipIt, I love stories with W/T falling in love. I do have to say that I'm probably in the minority, but I didn't really care for the references to the show. I feel like your story has taken on such a life of its own, and Neverland W/T are subtly different (in only the best ways) from canon W/T that reading those little show references would briefly pull me out of the story.

But overall I loved it, and like many others, I'm really looking forward to the evening after the park. Can't wait!

WAHHHHHH!!!! Fantabulous! I am loving this storyline so so much, the joy it brings me is indescribable.

Oh oh, I saw that easter commercial, I love the lion BAK BAK lol sooo awesome it takes me back too and I'm glad they still play it.

Anyway back to the story, it flowed so well and I loved every second of it. My favorite part, what you said about Angel really made me laugh out loud, he needs to be invited, awesome.

Willow is so super sweet and your version of her reminds me of myself in that when I first am hanging out with people I like to get them something meaningful so they know I do care and I want to really know them. I loveeeeeee this story. I loveeee you for writing it to. I hope it never ends.

I love this story so much! All the suspence and wait is killing me though

I just so desperately want Willow's meeting with her mom to be done already so she can talk with Buffy and finally clear things up with Tara, but- I love that you decided to show us their infamous meeting in the park from years before. It is just so painful to see them so obviously attracted to each other, but so awkward and shy at the same time...

Part of me want to smack Willow on the head for being so oblivious, but the other part of me wants to hug her and help her to open her eyes regarding a certain blonde, and a certain other aspect of her life. I hope the actual time in the park will be even easier and more relax for the girls...

Can't wait for next update!!

I started reading this story on another page a week ago and fell in love with it. I got to part 48 and it ended, unfinished. I was so mad. And then I found it here last night. I just finished with what is posted. I LOVE this story. I am so excited that there was more writen and I can't wait to read more. PLEASE KEEP WRITING! This story is so good. And I really need to know how everyone reacts to Willow coming out. I can identify. I'm only out to certain people. I just love this story.
