A sweet morning together & who wants to know about Tara's job?

The gentle morning sunlight peeped through the gap between the pale pink curtains and danced cheerily over the two entwined women. A particularly bright sun-beam shone onto the redhead’s face, causing her to scrunch her eyes tighter and grumble in protest. A soft, sleepy chuckle filled the early morning silence and green eyes opened to locate the source of the heavenly sound. Green locked with blue and a warm, dreamy smile spread across the redhead’s face.



“Good morning baby.” Tara whispered as she lightly brushed her lips against Willow’s cheek.

“Mmm, I had a dream that I’d fallen asleep in your arms, then I woke up, and here you are. This is the best good morning ever.” Willow declared; her voice husky from sleep.

“I agree; this is definitely how every good morning should be.”

“It will be. Every good morning for the rest of our lives, will be just like this.” The redhead promised as she placed soft butterfly kisses all over Tara’s face and neck.



Tara gave a small stretch, causing the light cotton sheet to fall to her waist, revealing her naked upper body to the redhead.

A low moan escaped from Willow’s suddenly dry mouth as she roamed her eyes over Tara’s body, noting how it had changed over the past eight years. The blonde was more amazingly beautiful and sexy than Willow had remembered; her full, rounded breasts; her smooth, flat stomach; the faultless perfection of her every curve.



“Oh god.” Willow gasped breathlessly. “How is it that I managed to not ravish this incredible, Greek goddess like body of yours last night?”

Tara blushed and reached down to pull the sheet over herself, but Willow caught her hand before it reached the sheet.

“Oh don’t you dare cover yourself up. Just ‘cos we decided that I can’t make love to every inch of your skin just yet, doesn’t mean I can’t look, and dream and drool.” The redhead gave a sensual grin, her eyes sparkling with desire. “God Tara, I want you so much, I’d forgotten how, how unbelievably… wow your body is. Oh, but, I’ll wait, we’ll go slow, and I’ll wait to make love to you. But when it’s the right time and we decide to take that next step, I swear to you I am gonna make up for every lost moment when I should have been touching and loving you with all that I am.”

Tara was over-whelmed by Willow’s words; she gazed deep into warm, honest emerald eyes then grabbed the redhead’s face and poured her every ounce of thanks and love into a searing kiss that made both women’s heads spin.

Once she had regained the ability to speak, and think, and breathe, Willow asked, in an almost desperate whimper

“I don’t have to wait too long right?”

At 7:15am the loud creak of a loose floorboard sounded through the house as a pair of small bare feet tip-toed down the stairs. The soft bump of a cupboard door closing was heard just before the kitchen tap creaked to life. The feet shuffled from the kitchen to the living room and the gentle hum of the TV filled the room.



“Julia’s up.” Willow explained after listening to her daughter’s morning routine.

“You can tell them apart by the noises they make when they get up?” Tara enquired in amazement.

“Well, near enough. Julia’s the early-bird; she gets up every morning, gets herself a drink of water then puts cartoons on. Lydia however, is a sleepy head and probably won’t get up for another hour or so.”

“They’re so different, are you sure they’re twins?” Tara chuckled softly.

“I’m fairly certain yeah. I mean, they have that whole, being identical and sharing the same birthday thing going on.” Willow teased affectionately.

“Smart-ass.” Tara accused, poking her tongue out. “So, does this mean it’s time to get up?” The blonde asked, pouting slightly as she realised that she couldn’t spend the entire day curled up in bed with the gorgeous redhead.

“I’m afraid so sweetie. I’ll go down and make a start on breakfast; you can get a shower if you like.”

“Okay, thanks.”

“Morning kiddo.” Willow called affectionately to her Julia as she walked past the living room towards the kitchen.

“They made a cartoon of Miss Kitty.” Julia informed her mother enthusiastically.

“They did? Is it any good?” Willow smiled; her daughters had every single one of the Miss Kitty stories.

“Yep, it’s just like in the books.”

“That’s good. So, you’ll be watching that every morning from now on then?”

“Definitely.”



After a few minutes the commercials came on and Julia wandered through to the kitchen.

“Did Tara stay here last night?” The little girl asked, when she noticed that her mommy was making two cups of coffee.

“Uhm, yes she did.” Willow answered apprehensively. “Is that okay?”

“Yes, I like her.” The little girl grinned then skipped back to the living room, leaving her shocked mommy to marvel at how quickly Julia’s opinion of Tara had changed.



Following a quick shower, Tara wandered down stairs and sat herself down next to Jules on the couch.

“Whatcha watching sweetie?”

“The adventures of Miss Kitty. They’re my most favourite books ever and now they made the cartoon.”

“Oh really? Well, I know the lady who writes the Miss Kitty books.”

Julia finally pulls her attention away from the TV screen to stare at Tara in amazement.

“Y-you do?” The little redhead asked; her voice almost a whisper.

Tara gave the youngster her award winning half-grin and nodded her head yes.

“Can I meet her?”

“You already have sweetie.”

“I have?” Julia frowned, not quite awake enough to make sense of what she was being told.

“Yep, in fact, you’re talking to her right now.” Tara waited patiently for Julia to figure it out.

“You mean… you? You draw her and write the stories and everything?”

“Yep, that’s my job honey.”

“Wow!” The little girl was awe-struck. Here she was, sat next to the lady who created Miss Kitty. This was the most exciting thing that had ever happened to her in her short life.



Willow walked in to the living room with two mugs of coffee and, upon seeing the look on her little girls face, frowned questioningly at Tara.

“What’s going on?”

“Mommy, do you know who Tara is?”

“Uhm, yes…” She drew out the word, making it sound more like a question than an answer.

“She, she’s the lady who writes the Miss Kitty books.”

“Huh? The authors called Elizabeth Rose… You’re Elizabeth Rose?”

“Well, technically, yes I’m Elizabeth Rose. That’s my pen name anyway; I don’t like to use my real name.”

“I don’t blame you; I wouldn’t want people to know my real name if I was as famous as you.”

“Oh, I-I’m n-not that famous really.” Tara blushed and let her hair fall over her face.

“Are you kidding? You’re the most successful children’s author since, well, I can’t think of the name of any children’s authors right now. But, but, everybody’s heard of Elizabeth Rose, I mean you’re up there with, with, oh, Charles Schulz.”

“The Snoopy guy?” Tara enquired, frowning dubiously.

“Exactly. See, everyone knows Charles Schulz and everybody knows Elizabeth Rose.”



“Who’s Elizabeth Rose?” A sleepy Lydia enquired from the doorway of the living room.

Tara raised her eyebrows and chuckled as Willow rolled her eyes.

“Fine, a still half asleep five year old isn’t entirely sure who Elizabeth Rose is.” Willow amended grudgingly.



“Lydia, Tara writes all the Miss Kitty books. Isn’t it exciting and, and just so amazing and cool?” Julia was bouncing up and down as she spoke animatedly to her sister.

Lydia’s mouth dropped open, her eyes wide.

“Oh, oh… I love Miss Kit… Oh, I think I’m gonna faint.”

Jeanne, Hi there.... Wonderful update.....there are so many things i want to say... I guess i'll start with...



I loved the fact that Tara is a children's book author, that just seems so fitting and It also explains why she is so great with the girls. When one writes for children,one knows how to interact with them on their level. Lydia and even Julia took to her quickly, illustrating this point.



also...I loved your use of the word "husky" in describing Willow's sleepily deepened voice.(one of my personal favorites) I think "husky" isn't fully appreciated in the word world, what with its ties to the cheesy romance novels set in the "olden" days. you know the ones... With they guy on the cover straddling the girl in the impossibly large dress with his shirt torn open, only to reveal his smooth chest and washboard abs?(once again...one of my personal favorites...but mostly for the women and their conveniently large cleavage)..But it's a great word, and I applaud you for giving it it's much due homage. I hope to hear more of husky Willow.



Im so glad you updated, This is my favorite story, and I can't wait for the next installment. Oh and....

Okay, as I said, it's quite short & it's a little different to the tone of this fic so far. I decided to add a little drama to to the mix....

“Can I have chocolate sprinkles on my ice cream please?” Julia asked as she climbed out of her mother’s car.

“Oh, can I have a cherry on the top of mine?” Lydia requested enthusiastically.

“You can have anything you like, it’s my treat.” Tara answered the twins who grinned up at the blonde.

“You don’t have to spoil them, they already adore you sweetie.”

“Well, it’s not as if money’s an issue, and besides, it’s only ice-cream.”

“Ah yes, but, you’ve told them they can have anything they like. It’s not just ice-cream; it’s the most expensive ice-cream available with all the trimmings.”

“Hmm, wouldn’t that lead to two sicky little girls?” Tara asked good-naturedly; a small plan forming in her mind.

“Possibly.” Willow was only partially serious.

“Okay, well, I guess I’ll just have to stay over again tonight so I can look after them if they’re ill.”

“It’s a deal. Did you want to go home and pick up some stuff?”

“Later on yeah, if you don’t mind?”

“No problem. Anything if it means I don’t have to be away from you.”

The two women stopped and shared a soft, lingering kiss before continuing down the street hand in hand.





A short distance away, a pair of green eyes glanced at the sweet family. A deep growl sounded as the two women had kissed.





The twins happily dug in to their ice-cream treats; a banana split for Lydia and a Knickerbocker glory for Jules.

Tara and Willow sat opposite one another. Their hands joined across the table, fingers stroking and entwining lazily. Their eyes locked; emerald and sapphire whispered deep, wordless affections to one another. Gentle, dreamy smiles graced contentedly glowing faces.





At a concealed corner table, peering over a menu; fierce jealousy burned in darkening green eyes.



The happy little family left the ice-cream parlour and walked the short distance to the Sunnydale Zoo. So absorbed in their happiness, none of them realised that they were being followed and watched from afar.





“I want to see the penguins first.” Julia put her heels together and waddled along like a penguin, her arms straight down by her side with her little hands sticking out like small wings.

“Monkeys are better, they jump about and swing by their tails.” Lydia leapt about, swinging her arms loosely and doing her best impersonation of a monkey’s call.

“Sometimes I worry about those two.” Willow frowned and then giggled at her daughter’s antics.

“I think I agree with Jules, penguins are fun.” Tara joined the little girl in her penguin walk. Shortly after, Lydie joined in too and Willow watched as they waddled all the way to the aviary that would lead them to the penguins.

“Oh look at all the pretty dickey birds.” The twins exclaimed. Both girls abandoned their penguin impressions and spread their arms out, flapping them up and down like wings.

“Aww, look at the fluffy little baby birdies. Mommy can we have one? They’re so tiny and cute.”

“Lydie, that’s a baby ostrich, you can not have a pet ostrich. They don’t make good pets, plus they’d peck your fingers off.”

“Oh, I like my fingers on my hand.” Lydia acknowledged, suddenly having second thoughts about her choice of pet.

“So do I.” Willow agreed.

“Quick Lydie, the man’s just gonna feed the penguins. Come on or we’ll miss it.” Julia reached out for her sister’s hand and pulled her along to where the penguins were being fed.

The little girls stood for half an hour, completely mesmerised by the large black and white birds.





Behind a small clump of trees, the menacing eyes glared angrily at the happy scenes of family life.





When the entire zoo had been explored Willow and Tara took the twins to a café for burgers and fries then they headed for home.





An old black pick-up truck that had seen better days followed the redhead’s metallic blue family saloon, staying at a safe, unsuspicious distance behind. As the people carrier turned towards Tara’s large apartment block the truck pulled into an empty driveway. The driver watched as the blonde got out of the car and entered the elegant building; fifteen minutes later the blonde came back out, carrying an over-night bag, and got back into Willow’s family car. The MPV continued its journey to the Rosenberg residence; the truck took a short cut so as not to be seen.





“Can you tell us a bedtime story please Tara?” Julia asked as they made their way in to the house.

“Yeah, a Miss Kitty story? Can you make one up for us?”

“Hmm, I suppose I could.”





The pick-up parked down the street, the driver waited until Willow had closed the front door then climbed out of the truck, walked up to the front garden and hid in some bushes. Willow had never got into the habit of drawing the curtains, so every movement within the house could be clearly observed.

Another excellent update and I love penguins as well so thats always the first place I go at the zoo. I am also thinking the green eyes.. Oz not a good thing. Or it could be someone else I supposed, but well I doubt it.

What a nice update with the family outings.



I wonder if Oz has been watching them all these years or has just arrived back in town? After bailing on Willow and the kids I can't see her agreeing to see him. The dumb ass had his chance... twice. No more chances, no siree. She Tara now.

I dunno but i dont get the idea out of my head, that it was oz who watched/followed them the whole time! He shouldnt be around, cuz he was never the father he should be for "his" kids. And why is he angry, no need to be angry. As far as i remember, he left! gods guys are stupid....sometimes
