Little moments that crack you up. Every. Single. Time.

Postby AutumnT » Fri Apr 26, 2002 11:46 am

Some of us on chat the other night were talking about goofy Willow or Tara moments. Just little spazzy moments that make you laugh. Every. Single. Time. I thought it might be fun to share these with the class.

My favorite Tara moment of this nature is in Who Are You? when Willow is finally introducing her for real to Buffy who is currently in Faith's body. Tara because of the whole bad wardrobe thing - you know - is wearing this sweater that is so long her little paws barely peak out of the sleeve. And the moment I love is when Willow is complimenting her and in an embarrassed gesture she just starts looking up her sleeve. It makes me laugh.

I love the goofy looks Tara gets on her face when she, of all people, is confused by something Willow says. The one that first comes to mind is in Superstar. Willow is explaining the action, including sound effects, pow, woosh, crossbow and vampire dusting.

Tara gets the goofiest look, then once Willow explains, she flashes a trademark smile.

mine would have to be tara's weird jokes. like the insect reflection. that one cracks me up everytime. and i love watching everyone else's reactions to it.

Tara: Do you mind if I keep the light on? I was gonna look up some spells.
Willow: That's fine, I don't need to be snuggled...
Tara: Vixen!

I love it when Willow says something that clearly only she understands. You have to love her fuzzy logic. At the end of Triangle when she's trying to explain the notion of sending Olaf to another dimension and she says it's like "trying to stop a puppy by throwing a live bee at it"... :lol So cute.

Also, I LOVE Willow's impression of Anya in that same episode.

And let's not even talk about the dancing. Goofy? Oh god yes. :)

Triangle, Triangle :D

I love the scene where Buffy cries onto Tara's shoulder.. well, thats more a Buffy moment.. er..

Oh yeah, Willow when she wishes Buffy was in the Bronze and swoosh, shes there. The following line of Willow is cute also, but I am in favour for the fact that Buffy appears "on demand". :lol

Now is that also a Buffy scene?? *shrugs*

That's a variation of THE LOOK. In OMWF, when Xander "Mantits" Harris is singing about evil witches, it's a variation of the look Tara gives Willow in I Was Made To Love You, where they both look adorable. Willow's little raised eyes innocent look as Tara's like, "Hmmm". :lol

Oh, yes - Triangle. Willow's impression of Anya. And the bit where Willow is goading Anya, and calling her the golfish from the Cat in the Hat. And the general wide eyed glances she gives, from one character to the other, when they're speaking. And, I could go on, but tummy time is ready, and a glass of wine is calling ...

For Tara, I like the moment in "This Year's Girl" where they are looking for Faith and Tara says, "Oh face punching, I'm not big with the whole.." and she starts jabbing her fists in the air and Willow says, "Swimming." The look on Tara's face is so cute.

For Willow, I like the moment in "Gone" when Xander is confronting her about Buffy being invisible and he says something like, "it's okay, we'll fix her" and Willow says, "Buffy's broken!"

It's not a W/T moment but a W moment...

I believe it was in AfterLife where the gang raises a demon which takes possession of their bodies, after they have resurrected Buffy. In one scene, Dawn is possessed then later Anya says she really hopes she didn't look like THAT when the demon took over her body.

Willow: "Oh, no, I'm sure you looked really GLAMOROUS cutting your face."

For me, it's Willow's indignant response in "Doppelgangland"--

"I am not a vampire!"

Makes me smile every time:) .

Postby Denial Queen » Fri Apr 26, 2002 5:55 pm

well, my favorite episode is doppelgangland so the moments that keep me laughing in no particular order...

1. when xander puts up a crucifix to ward of willow thinking she's a vamp and it doesn't work. i laugh when he tries to shake it to make it work.

2. giles reaction when he sees willow isn't a vamp.

3. "you all didn't happen to do a bunch of drugs now didja?" aly's way of deliveringthis line just makes me laugh every time.

4. "I'm a blood sucking fiend! look at my outfit"

see no. 3

5. "Gosh! look at those. "

as for tara:

I loved this scene in intervention:

Tara: "Everyone? Before we jump all over her: People do strange things when someone they love dies. When I lost my mother I did some pretty dumb stuff, like lying to my family and staying out all night."

Anya: "Buffy's boinking Spike."

(pause) Willow: "Oh... well, Tara's right. Grief can be powerful... and we shouldn't judge..."

Tara: "What, are you kidding? She's nuts!"

totally unexpected for me. amber just really pulled off that line. :)

oh and must not forget that look she gives willow when willow checks out the aprilbot.

Every time I watch OMWF, at the point that Willow sings "And we're all stuck inside his wacky Broadway nightmare," Tara does this little hand choreography (kinda like "spirit fingers," for anyone who's seen Bring It On), and it's so subtle that it just cracks me up... that and during Buffy's closing number, when she needs "backup," and Anya and Tara are right there... to sing and dance backup. Hehehe, I laugh just thinking about it! :grin

Great topic. Sometimes its the most subtle things that are the funniest.

I was watching "Lie to Me" the other day and it had a great Willow moment when she realised the meaning of the Divinyl's song "I Touch Myself". You could see her eyes widen when she finally got it.

One of my favorite recent Tara moments was "I'm not much for the timber".

Oh my favourite funny WT moment has got to be the scene from OMWF when they are doing the research and Willow wispers naughty suggestions in Tara's ear and she pipes up out of nowhere saying:

"Tha-That's right! The, the volume. The text."

and Willow making up the worst excuse ever and then Tara takes her hand saying

"Yeah, this could blow the whole thing wide open."

Followed by the cutest naughtiest giggle and look that could leave *no* doubt as to their intent. It cracks me up every time.

Oh bless them for being so perfect and horny.

Hm. For Tara - definitely the jazz hands from OMWF. Although there's plenty of good moments, I scared the cat when I saw that one.

And Willow. Well. See my avatar. That bit in Hush (actually that whole sequence) gets me every time. And. Um. I scare the cat.

Come to think about that, I do that to the cat an awful lot. Poor cat. :)

Tara

My favorite moment is in OMWF, No one has mentioned it here yet. Its a blooper and its pretty much a coseup of buffy when Anya and tara give her backup :) Watch tara the entire scene and youll see her back up right into the wall and smile and walk and hide behind it :) Its so funny! I think Its when Buffys sing the "Lifes a song, you dont get to rehearse..." around there-ish.

Dopplegangland

Postby BBOvenGuy » Fri Apr 26, 2002 8:23 pm

Pretty much all of "Dopplegangland" makes me smile just thinking about it. :D I can't pick a favorite moment, because every time I try, I think of something else. Ah, the series was so much fun back in those days...

Among W/T moments, the one that makes me smile most is when they're interviewed by the Watchers in "Checkpoint."

The scene in ‘Buffy vs Dracula’ where the gang is at Giles’ house and Willow keeps talking about how valuable Giles is (because he told her he was planning on returning to England) and Tara’s sitting across from Willow with this intense ‘what the heck is wrong with you’ look because she doesn’t know what Willow’s trying to do. It’s a subtle scene, but it makes me laugh every time.

And the scene in ‘IWMTLY’ when Willow is talking about Warren Beatty and Warren Harding, and then she goes on and asks if they have a pink code – the look on Tara’s face while Willow is babbling is so cute. Nobody enjoys Willow-babble like Tara. :)

The look on Willow's face when the gang find Giles singing in "Where the wild things are" has me in hysterics every time.

Oh, and "Life serial" with Willow's "I'm a breast girl myself" comment, and Gile's expression, half way between a polite smile and a grimace.

I keep thinking of more! "Doppelgangland", when Willow is hugging vamp Willow goodbye, and shrieks "Hands, hands!" as vamp will cops a feel. And the dirty smile on VW's face afterward.

But I like crazy Tara. The scene where Buffy comes to visit Tara in the hospital and Tara says 'they kill mice.' Also in Spiral she looks out the winney and says 'horsies!!'..

Well, one of my favorites in in my sig. When Tara's talking to Spike in OAFA and trying so hard not to crack up, her eyes are flying all over the place and her mouth keeps moving involuntarily into a smirk. It kills me.

Ohhh what a wonderful thread!

All of "Doppelgängland" makes me get the giggles. I swear every bit of Alyson in that episode was priceless. I tried to narrow it down to the best 10 lines or looks, but it came out to 14. :

1) when Willow is in the office with Percy and she asks "You want us to breed?" *snicker*

2) when she and Buffy walk into the library talking about how Snyder "..bullies people. He just assumes everyones time is his." then Giles walks in telling her to get on the computer and access something for him, and she just says "Ok" and goes and does it. *snicker*

3) when Willow is upset about Percy not doing the assignment and laying it in her lap. She sits down and takes out her bananna "I'm eating this now, its not lunchtime I dont even care." then after she gets upset about the 'old faithful', 'old yeller' thing with Xander "and I'm eating this bananna, lunchtime be damned!" *snicker*

4) after the spell goes wacky, and Anya says she is just trying to find her necklace. Willow says "well did you try looking inside the sofa of HELL?" and later in that scene she grabs something off the floor and says "I believe these chicken feet are mine" and waves them at Anya. *giggle*

5) when all the scoobies think she is a vampire and she walks in "Geesh, who died? Oh god, who died" and then of course the rest of the scene with the asking about the drugs and the "I'm not a vampire" stuff. :lol

6) (ok its not a Willow moment but it is Alyson saying the line) When Willow shoots Vamp Willow with the dart gun. The look on Vamp Willow's face and the "Bitch" was priceless. *snickers*

7) (again not a Willow moment but it is about Willow) when Willow talks about how evil and skanky and kinda gay the Vamp Willow is. Buffy tells her that its not the same personality of the person they were. Then Angel pipes in to explain but cuts himself off. The look that buffy gives Willow right after that is priceless. Check out how she kinda looks Willow up and down. PRICELESS! *ROFLMAO!*

8) outside the Bronze, Willow dressed in Vamp's leather, looks down and says "Gosh, look at those" *snicker*

9) inside the Bronze, Willow talking about her minions takeing Anya out back to kill her, while she gives a smile and a wave to Oz. *giggle*

10) when she says "I dont know if I feel like killing anymore. I'm so bored" and she walks by some girl sitting at a table and she tries to run her fingers through the girls hair and gets them tangled. :lol

11) "I'm a blood sucking fiend, look at my outfit!" PRICELESS! *uncontrolable giggles*

12) after hitting Anya "Ow ow ow, happy but ow"

13) right before Vamp Willow goes to punch Willow. "No more snuggles?" *snicker*

14) and of course the all important and very laughable "Hands! Hands!" line. :lol

Next post will be all about Tara I swear. ;)

Love the "I'm overhelping, aren't I" bit at the beginning of New Moon Rising, when Willow is attempting to explain every little detail of the Scooby meeting to Tara.

Also love the exchange about the series of different colored pens, and how it had been pointed out to Willow that that was, you know, insane. (And Tara pipes in to say "I said quirky") Very cute.

The scene in Tabula Rasa when Anya is standing on a table in the Magic Box, with Giles and there are bunnies popping from the ceiling and she still insists that its the right book.

Just the concept of Anya and Giles making bunnies is hilarious.

I agree with BBOvenGuy; too love that bit in Checkpoint:

Nigel (to Willow & Tara): Well, I need to know a little bit more about the Slayer. And about the both of you. Your relationship... whatever you can tell me.

Tara: Ou-our relationship?

Willow: We're friends.

Tara: Good friends.

Willow: ...Girlfriends, actually.

Tara: Yeah, we're girlfriends.

Willow (becoming braver): We're in love. We're... lovers. (Adamantly) We're lesbian, gay-type lovers!

Nigel (looking at them): I ...meant your relationship with the Slayer.
