Aly Article in Star Magazine (UK)

Thanks to AlyFan316 from ZDC who typed out the transcript, I bring you an Article about our Aly which featured in last weeks Star Magazine (Which is a free with the Daily Star - UK).

Star Mag wrote:Sexy redhead Alyson Hannigan has been kissing girls on screen as Buffy the Vampire Slayer`s lusty lesbian witch Willow.

If you`re none the wiser, she`s the foxy flute player who made Band Camp sexy in American Pie.

And she used to date a member of rock hardman Marilyn Manson`s band. But now the wickedly sexy actress has conjured up some magic of her own, with Angel star Alexis Denisof.

The pair started dating after they met during filming of their supernatural series. But it was she that had to chase him and persuade him to go out with her.

It took a year of serious flirting before Alexis fell under her spell, but they are now so inseparable that when Alyson came to Great Britain to film an episode of Buffy, Alexis came along too.

And gorgeous Alyson admits since meeting Alexis no other man as stood a chance with her.

"Alexis makes everything so much nicer, " she says. " It took me a year to get him interested in me but since then it`s been great. He`s a good person to turn to and he understands everything.

" The real drag is our sets are too far apart to see each other at work. And we both work such long hours. Angel shoots at night more, so he works even longer hours than me and it is hard getting time together. "

Filming in Britain gave them a rare chance to share some time together. Alexis spent 10 years acting in Britain, before landing the part in Angel, and starred in the swashbuckler series Sharpe with Shaun Bean.

But Alyson, 28, Has spent her last two breaks from Buffy filming her part as the dirty talking flute player who knows how to use her instrument in the American Pie films.

She`s recently signed up to make a third film and she says her saucy role attracts a certain kind of fan.

" The American Pie fans shout things at me in the street - usually my lines from the film, which can be a bit embarrassing, " she admits. " But Buffy fans can most definitely be fanatical.

" They have never sent me proper witchcraft items, but i have got candles in the post. " And someone once tried to give me a horse. They actually brought it to me. I had to say. " I can`t accept this, but thanks. "

" But it`s awesome getting recognised, although at first I used to think people were looking at me because I had my zipper undone or something on my face, but once you click in, it`s the best feeling in the world. "

And she is thrilled that Willow`s romance with Tara may have helped other girls coming to terms with their sexuality. " Girls in that sort of situation have said it has shown them they are not alone, which is great. "

Alyson`s co star Amber Benson, who plays Tara, admits the pair have had plenty of amusement during Willow and Tara`s love scenes. "

" I`ve found myself in compromising postions with Alyson, wearing modesty clothing, which is stuff that makes you look like you are not wearing anything, under the blanket. I didn`t realise Tara was going to be a lesbian, but they said Alyson and I had real chemistry. Then I started watching the episodes and realised we were heading for the bedroom. "

Alyson started off in showbusiness as a baby modelling in ad campaigns shot by her photographer parents.

She grew up wanting to be an actress and worked as a child star on TV adverts in America.

She landed her first part aged four and her first movie starring role was as Kim Basinger`s daughter in My Stepmother is An Alien.

But her first real taste of fame came when she and the rest of the Buffy cast went to a covention for fans just after the first series started screening.

" I wanted to be an actress almost from birth, but i had no idea Buffy was going to be such a success. "

" I auditioned and auditioned until i got the part. "

" But when it really hit home was when the cast went to a comic book convention and there thousands of folk there cheering. "

" When i did a signing in France recently people rushed at the car and it was like my little glimpse of what it must have been like for The Beatles. We come to work on the set all day and you get pretty removed from the outside world. "

" My boyfriend and I walked into Toys-R-Us the other night and there was a game of Buffy that made us both go " Wow! "

While series six of Buffy starts on BBC 2 at Halloween with Willow going wilder than ever, Series seven as just started in America, which could be the last for the supernatural hellraisers.

While Buffy has paid for her car and her house in LA, which she shares with her three dogs, Alyson admits none of the cast are rich enough to put their feet up if the series does come to an end.

" We don`t earn the fortunes paid to the stars of other hit TV series. " she says " Compared to our peers in shows like Friends we are vastly underpaid. But most of us are quite close after this long together. It`s definitely like a family - we get along and then we don`t - it`s like brothers and sisters. I`ve made friends i hope to keep forever. "

This above transcript leaves a bit out about Aly looking like the French flag in the season six promo shoot.

I hope you enjoy it.

Cool, thanks for reposting the transcript for us.

BTW, if you put [html] tags around your signature (close with /html of course), it might make the HTML codes work. That's how you can enable HTML for part of a post without switching on HTML for the whole post and disabling ezcodes and emoticons elsewhere.

Unfortunately, I'm not positive it would work in a signature, but I think it would, and I've used it in the body of posts before.

Well thankfully they refer to her as a lesbian otherwise it would have sounded too much like Ally McBeal sucking face with the entire female cast for the sake of sensationalism. Willow has not been kissing girls, she has been kissing a woman, one woman, her lover and soulmate, Tara, the blond one they seem to have forgotten about on the show. :happy

BFR from Paris: No, she wasn't, all I said is that there was this following (demeaning IMHO) part on the article, written next to a picture of Aly in the red top and blue jeans.

"PATRIOTIC: As the only living human flag, Hannigan was often called upon to be hoisted up a pole and saluted. Here we see her in her french outfit, ready to hang and flutter pour la liberte."

BFR from Paris--Not recently. She was in France about 2-3 years ago for a signing in Paris on the occasion of the release of (I think) Season 3 on DVD in France.

She talked about it during one of her U.S. talk-show appearances, and was delighted by the way the French fans chased after her car yelling "A-ly-son! A-ly-son!":D :D

On the old HDC board, some French fans were disappointed that she does not speak French. She did, however, do a goofy French accent for "100 Deeds for Eddie McDowd" (she played a white Pomeranian [although a friend of mine recently suggested that the breed was something called an American Eskimo]:) )
