Amber in Take It Easy

Postby scifiacid » Sun Aug 25, 2002 9:26 pm

Okay, well I put that picture up of Amber with short hair in the picture thread and I come to find out this has not been mentioned yet, so I'll mention it.

Take It Easy, 1998, which is another of those Indie Films Amber did is now up at iFilm.com. Its 32 minutes long with the usual suspects (same peeps Amber seems to make the rounds with in the indie film arena) Nate Barlow, Greg Swartz etc.

So here is the link to the page

www.ifilm.com/ifilm/produ...00,00.html

Click the WATCH NOW button on the right.

WARNING: Amber is only at the beginning, as far as I know (she could be at the end but the film isn't so good and I haven't mustered up the energy to watch it all the way through) for about 1 minute.

Here is the cap again. I have others that I am putting up on S&V; which will reopen in September with a new layout and lots of new stuff!

Very cool, I like that amber has this circle of friends that make movies together, it's nice.

And she's so cute in this, I say I don't mind the short hair at all :grin

More Caps

Postby Rally » Sun Aug 25, 2002 11:43 pm

Thanks for the tip Dri, she appears again later in the film, 7 minutes in to it. I am still watching so I may have a few more caps later.

Well officially, of course, I have to say that I have no idea what you're talking about.

Thanks for the caps, Rally. The last one looks especially nice. You found a frame where it looks like she's posing for a still shot rather than in the middle of a film. Good work. :)

She doesn't appear again, just that brief flashback sequence. Like I mentioned its about 7 minutes in so no need to suffer through the entire thing. The sound was awful, so I couldn't have followed the plot if I even wanted to.

Well that's good. I actually remember seeing it a few months ago but I was really bored with it and just fast forward through it all. I think I missed all of Amber that way and that's why I never posted it. LOL. Ah well, I still like that short hair!

Amber's gang of pals reminds me of other film-makers who manage to make movies with all their friends in; I'm thinking of the Danny DeVito/Michael Douglas thing especially, but also of people like John Cusack, who always makes space in his movies for his pals. I really like that; it shows a bit of consistency on her behalf and it's nice to see a girl getting in on the act. :)

The movie's not that great though, but Amber, as ever, has a wonderful neck. Yum. And we get to see more of it. ;)

You know what's weird? When I saw that pic of Amber in short hair, the first thing I thought of was Uma Thurman in Pulp Fiction. Seriously. Dye her hair black and lay her out on a bed (so to speak) and she'd look just like the poster.

Personally, I would have much preferred Amber in that movie. Uma was too lifeless. Amber would have brought more humor to the role. Imagine the dance with John Travolta, for instance. :lol

Oh I have not seen the movie, but I can so imagine that anyway. :laugh

I read an AU fic on the Pens a week or so ago in which Willow dances with Tara and discovers Tara is as 'rythmically challenged' as she. I meant to comment on that, it cracked me up. Such a perfect way to describe their dancing skills. Bless them. :love

Anyway, thank you Adrienne :) Amber does look good with short hair, I am so used to the lovely long hair, but I have to admit she looks as lovely as ever, which only proves that she looks beautiful no matter what style of clothes or hair she wears.

Don't forget Kevin Smith. He puts Himself, Jason Mewes, Ben Affleck, Brian O'Halloran, Jason Lee, Scott Mosier, and Walt Flanagan in almost all of his movies(or at least the ones he's written so far).

Amber in Pulp Fiction, eh? Kinda violent isn't it? Somehow I don't see her as Uma Thurman in that role. She doesn't seem... seedy enough.

Yes, Pulp Fiction is somewhat on the violent side, but that's part of the film. One of the many things I disliked about Buffy this season was that the gritty violence didn't really fit the show. It was basically shoehorned in for the sake of a darker tone. However, I can live with it in Pulp Fiction, since it's an edgy kind of flick.

And yeah, the Uma character was kind of seedy. I don't think that Amber is seedy (Heaven forbid), but I do believe Amber has the range to fill out that role. I also think she would made the character more sympathetic, which was another problem I had with Uma's performance. Of course it's been awhile since I've seen the film, so I could be wrong.

Oh my word. First the picture with the short hair and unbuttoned shirt, then the two pictures with that magnificent long neck and pouting eyes. And now this. What a lovely "to do" list.

I'm going to be thinking about this, and chuckling, with my eyes glazing over and my cheeks flushing, all. day. long. :drool

Two guys make some paper machie' statue of Don Henley and go on a road trip. The sound was illegible so I really couldn't follow the story beyond that. One of the guys is played by Nate Barlow, who is in Chance. Amber plays his girlfriend who gets left behind, while the guys go on the trip. She is two quick scenes, the one that Dri capped, she is just sitting in the hallway of the high school and the boy friend says something to her and she yawns. The scene I capped, is a flashback or dream sequence, there is music playing so I don't even think there was any dialogue. They are dancing than he walks off and she just watches him go. That's it.

Re:

The first scene, in the hall, her boyfriend is telling her he's going on the trip and asks if it is okay. She looks as if she could care less and says 'sure, go.' Than yawns after he's left.

hehe... Amber's mom is in it as well!

Y'know relatvie girl, when I wrote that post I thought, "That sounds a little odd, maybe I should change it," but then I shrugged, and figured that people wouldn't think anything of it. I forgot this board's reputation of turning everything into a double entendre. Silly me. :)

Yeah virtual dub won't take ASF. I used TMPGEnc.exe which is good for that kind of stuff.
