Amber on Stage

Anything about Willow & Tara, Alyson Hannigan and Amber Benson.

I saw it. :p

I didn't get any pictures during the performance, though. It was a very small theater and I was way off to the side. Amber had her back to me most of the time, and while I'm sure that would be quite satisfying to the Amber butt-shot contingent, it wasn't exactly what I was looking for.

Afterwards, however, I did get this:

Amber was fabulous, by the way. And she was very friendly afterwards. She didn't have much to say in the way of spoilage, other than she knew all last year that Tara was being killed off. She was still very noncommittal about a return to Buffy for Season 7, although I personally felt it was more to the "not coming back" side of things than she was in Santa Barbara.

And now I have to turn in, because I have an 8am call in the morning. I'll let the other Kittens fill you in on what they saw and heard.

Thanks for the pic Bob, can we get a kitten role call on who is represented. I see Xita in there, but what other kitties got to see the show?

And well, about the spoilage. If she managed to keep the death thing a secret all year who knows if she's coming back at all for anything or not. NOT that I have any hope. I gave that up for Lent this year and never got it back.

I hope you all had a great time. It certainly looks like it. :)

Which thing that Amber said are you wickedly delighted about, Ruth? We were making jokes with her about how she keeps playing dead characters lately.

The people who really had the conversation with Amber were Joy (TwilightJoy) and Michelle (WillowLikeWhoa). Umm, that's Joy in the striped sweater and Michelle in the blue t-shirt with the kitten on it. I imagine they'll be along to tell you all about it sometime this weekend.

By the way, the Florida State shirt that Amber has on is the same one I saw her wearing between the "Under Your Spell" shoot and the "Walk Through The Fire" shoot (with the fire engines) back last fall. And she had her floppy hat on for a while, too. I think you can see a piece of it sticking up behind Joy's head.

Okay, sleeping now. Really...

Thanks for the photo, Bob, and thanks to everyone who posted reports. Can I just ask what Amber's character was like? And was there a programme with any new pictures of Amber or details of new projects?

I know this is slightly off-topic for this thread but why would Amber be non-commital about returning, even a bit more negative as BB said. If she's gone wouldn't she just say she's gone, unless there is something up the sleve? Just a thought....

Postby tommo » Sun Jun 09, 2002 7:55 am

It's possible she doesn't know yet. Or it has been mentioned to her but not confirmed.

I do admire her tight-lipped nature though. Makes you want to tell her a secret just so you know she'll keep it. :lol

Yeh good point, but I guess her saying outright 'I'm not going to be back for good' perhaps say something positive, though her non-commitalness kinda makes it seem maybe like it may be not at all or for like 1 ep.

Is non-commitalness even a word?

Wahouu. Great pic and great hair cut Xita!!!

New episode don't start shooting before Jully. Amber probably doesn't know anything yet. Or is not sure.

I can't wait to hear more things about your amber and the evening, guys.

Postby Katharyn » Sun Jun 09, 2002 9:18 am

Last year Amber knew the whole Tara storyline and where it was going. She is a professional and she kept it under wraps whilst still maintaining the appearances and the quality of her performances. I expect no less of her regarding any future with the show. It's part of being an actress which we know is something she excels at.

When the news comes, whatever that is, it will not come from Amber.

And thanks for the picture Bob... worth it all for Xita's haircut!*S*

Agreed Katharyn, that was a big secret to keep all year so obviously my big "crack Amber" plans are not going to be happening until someone else official lets a kitten out of the bag. ;)

And yes, I agree, it was nice to see xita all with the fabulous new hair.

Hi! I met Amber! *does the happy "I met Amber Benson" dance*

The play was soooo good. All of them, really. The first and last were funny, while Amber's was kind of serious. It was a good thing hers was sandwiched in between the two funny ones.

Amber did a really great job. She's also very cute, but we already knew that! ;) She's very cute in person.

We got to talk to her after the show and take a picture with her, as you saw. *^_^*

She's very nice, very personable. I didn't ask her about Buffy, so I'm not the one to ask about that. I just talked to Amber about how she was so good in the play, how Joy and I really liked her in Bye Bye Love (even though her dad didn't like the movie), and how Joy plays Tara at like 4 Buffy rpgs. She mentioned something about Tara singing and I said "Yeah! We made a Star Wars/Buffy crossover rpg and had Tara sing the Yoda song!" and Amber said that she loved Yoda. It was very cute.

I did mention that she said in an interview that the BSD wasn't Xander, so she must have known, and she said yeah, she knew all last season. Then I asked her if that was why she started doing other stuff, like the plays and the other stuff she worked on, and she said yeah.

Anyway, it was very cool! Amber is sooooooooo nice and she's very cute. :) I'm really glad I went.
