Anything about Willow & Tara, Alyson Hannigan and Amber Benson.

Aly On BBC Breakfast

Postby FlyingPoppy » Wed Feb 04, 2004 3:40 am

I can transcibe it if anyone wants?

ETA:I posted the transciption here.

Edited again to say that I just saw an advert for T4 (on Channel 4 in the UK) this weekend and it said Aly's going to be on. I don't know which prog she's actually going to be on though, so if anyone knows it would be greatly appreciated.

Aly Breakfast

Postby Rocktoddy » Wed Feb 04, 2004 4:16 am

Hee, I didn't! :p Even though it only had five minutes of Aly goodness (and much of it was being filled with sucky s7 material), it was still worth seeing. I'd almost forgotten how much Aly can tell through her facial expressions. And I find myself, again, transfixed on those lips. Sigh.

Damn title changes!:rage

USA is currently (it's now 10:30 EST) running a film called "Indecent Proposal". This is, in fact, the 1996 film "For My Daughter's Honor", which offers a young (around 20, I think) AH doing the most adorable southern accent you ever heard:thud

For those interested, it will be re-run immediately following this cablecast.:)

Aly will be a guest voice on 'King of the Hill'

Postby tyche » Wed Apr 28, 2004 8:15 pm

I'm just thinking how weird it is that Aly's doing this and one of Amber's films was 'King of the Hill' (no relation.) Anyway, here are the details:

Quote:
From Thefutoncritic.com

Alyson Hannigan will guest star on the season finale of "King of the Hill", which airs Sunday, May 23. Seth Green also continues his 3 episode arc on "That ’70s Show" that began April 21.

[....]

And on the season finale of KING OF THE HILL (Sunday, May 23, 7:30-8:00 PM ET/PT), Bobby gets a lesson in Love 101 from special guest stars Alyson Hannigan and Laura Prepon. Forced to decide between enrolling in shop class where he’ll work with guys and sharp objects, or joining the peer counseling class where he’ll talk lonely young girls through their problems, Bobby goes where the ladies are. But after a few days of giving advice to these crazy girls, Bobby is the one who needs counseling.

I was watching American Idol and they showed a commercial for the KotH finale, and it had something I really liked. They just said Alyson Hannigan.

Not Willow from, not 'American Pie's'...just Alyson Hannigan, that's a big deal :D

Ah, the splendor that is Alyson Hannigan:thud .

First of all, it's amazing how well she could convey the thoughts and feelings of a slightly neurotic 12/13-year-old girl, given the fact that she is herself 30. Her delivery was flawless in every respect ("boyfriendus bastardus":lol --love it!).

Second, you entirely "buy in" to the character, even without the added visual aid of her beauty and charm. That's just plain great technique:applause .

And of course, it's nice to have her do the voiceover for a human character--on "100 Deeds for Eddie McDowd" she was a dog (I originally thought the pooch was a white pomeranian--I have since been informed that the breed in question was an "American Eskimo"--whatever that is:) ).

Hee... Her character throwing the eggs was pretty funny. :lmao

Best Sci-Fi Sidekick

Postby DaffyQDuck » Mon Nov 15, 2004 4:51 pm

On 11/25 at 10 pm EST on Lifetime is TV's Greatest Sidekicks. The new cable TV Guide has a blurb on this (elsewhere is a review that says it's mostly 70s sitcom stars) w/ a photo of Aly & "Best Sci-Fi Sidekick: Willow Rosenberg on BTVS. The safety of the world was at stake, but with supernatural vixen Alyson Hannigan at her side, the slayer always prevailed. Two words--Be witched"

Re: Southern Accent

Postby Hemiola » Thu Nov 25, 2004 6:41 pm

Ahhh, lucky Brits!

If you watch this movie, you will get to hear Aly use her rarely displayed Southern Accent, which is genuine (she lived a portion of her young life in Atlanta:) ). Although the story takes place in Oklahoma, I detect a distinct "Georgia Lilt" in her speech:thud -- it just makes me melt every time I hear it.

"Is this a Brahhhhhbe"?

(AH's character to the evil coach in "Indecent Seduction")

Modest Proposal: I know I've said this before, but my recent purchase of the "restored edition" of GWTW makes me all the more convinced that if any re-make were to be done, it would have to have AH as Scarlett and AB as Melanie:pray .

Thanks for the info I caught it today!!! She is so adorable!! She had more than one comment to say, it was a pretty good show too. I love how she mentioned that the American Idol finale was, "like Beatlemania except without the Beatles, so I guess it would just be like mania!" Totally cute and Willow quirky. I love how Aly's hair is growing out, I like her waves. I wish she were back on TV!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:cry :cry :cry

Re: Right Now!

Postby frumpycat » Wed Feb 16, 2005 4:20 pm

Not quite sure if this is the right thread for it but some more information on why AH turned down the part in Jennifer Love Hewitt's upcoming sitcom:

From TVguide:

Why did Alyson Hannigan pull out of ABC's upcoming [ha!] sports comedy "In the Game"? "My character was pointless," the "Buffy" alumna says of her role as Jennifer Love Hewitt's best friend and assistant. "And it certainly wasn't challenging." Sensing her unhappiness, ABC released Hannigan and drafted "Roseanne" alum Sara Gilbert. Willow groupies can still get a fix of their favorite witch this week on UPN's "Veronica Mars."

And Aly has already done pointless and unchallenging in the last couple of seasons of the show that W/T was on. Can't really blame her for being more picky now. As it turns out Veronica Mars has already outlasted this gig. Good on Aly.
