Subject: I saw Alyson Hannigan last night!

Hi all,

I'm so psyched. Last night, I was lucky enough to score VIP tickets to LAST CALL with CARSON DALY here in New York, with special guest ALYSON HANNIGAN, promoting "American Wedding". With her hair the longest I've seen (since Season 1) and in an elegant, flowing burgundy dress, she looked simply glamorous.

At one point, Carson mentions all of the "Buffy fans who are rabid on the Internet", at which I couldn't help but exclaim "Woooooooo!!" (Watch for it.)

Carson reacted, but pointing at me and jokingly refuting one of the Internet rumors about Alyson (that she had died in real life - never heard that one).

Alyson noticed me twice (the one true Buffy fan in the audience) and at the end of her interview, she looked at me, smiled and mouthed "Thanks." (Watch for it.) :-)

The episode is scheduled to air Thursday, August 7 (in actuality, Friday early morning) on NBC at 1:35 AM Eastern.

It was worth watching American Pie last night again on FX just for the commercial break when you got moment with Aly and Jason Biggs. I never knew the famous "What's my name bitch" line was actually improvisation on the part of Aly that they kept. She only did it for one take.

The segments were funny and Aly looked very cute and kept making faces.

So, the day started and I knew my name and had my pants on. So far, so good. Yay.

That's awesome michelle, it's so good to hear these nice stories about Aly. Wonderful to know she's as kind as she seems. And I've noticed that too going to different events, there are many people who just go and get things signed, I imagine they just care about going on ebay and selling. I think that sucks because it's those people that must turn a lot of celebs away from signing and stuff. I think they like it when real fans are there.

Grimaldi Alyson looked great at the pepsi smash thing but yes her voice was weird. I think it was a combination of her being nervous and trying hard to sound like a host and mostly I think it was the yelling. It was so noisy in there I think she had to yell almost the entire time to be heard.

Daily Show

Postby sheila wt » Thu Jul 31, 2003 5:35 pm

Aly was on the Daily Show w/ John Stewart last night (sorry, just found out about it myself...). You might want to try and catch a rerun on Comedy Central.

A friend taped it for me, woo-hoo! :) I'll probably watch it tomorrow. I'll let you know how was it then.

It seems that whenever I change the channel, there's Aly. What a hard life... ;)

Only one day left for AW!!!! :bounce

you all are right about Aly's voice, the crowd was so loud that she had to yell everything. as an audio engineer, i can tell you that the shots when she was out in the middle were probably the worst since she couldn't hear herself and it's a very strange feeling to be yelling and not hear yourself. i'm sure she was hoarse the day after taping that. you could tell she just wanted to roll her eyes, cuz she couldn't hear michelle branch's answers.

anyway, it's been great to see so much of Aly this week, i'm in heaven.:heart

Well, how about that?! Aly finally made The Tonight Show. That's a move up as she's been previously relegated to Conan and Kilborn and other "later" late night shows. Good for her.

Aly on CBS's The Early Show Monday, Aug. 4th

Postby kajo 2000 » Sat Aug 02, 2003 2:55 am

From cbs.com:

CELEB SPOT

'American' Bride

NEW YORK, August 1, 2003 15:55:48

(CBS) The popular big screen comedy "American Pie" first introduced the world to Michelle Flaherty, an unusual teenager who enjoyed reminiscing about "this one time at band camp."

The memorable character, played by actress Alyson Hannigan, is back as a bride in the third and possibly final time in the movie "American Wedding."

Hannigan will visit The Early Show Monday to discuss the "American Pie" appeal and her own future wedding plans.

The film series, "American Pie," first introduced us to the East Great Falls High friends who tried to have a memorable summer before heading to college. In "American Pie 2," the same friends tried to rekindle the good times after navigating through their first year of college. In the third, and possible final installment, the buddies have graduate college and Jim (Jason Biggs) is taking the next step towards maturity — marrying his love, Michelle (Hannigan).

Hannigan says she knew the wedding story would be funny because it has the sweetness and laughs of the first two. Also, the third installment of the series allowed her to experience some new friendships. Hannigan explains she never had the opportunity to work previously with all of the cast members of the "American Pie" series because most of her scenes were isolated with Biggs's character.

The movie is filled with over-the-top situations right before a wedding, which the 29-year-old actress probably will not have to endure during her planned wedding to Alexis Denis, an actor who plays British demon-hunter Wesley Wyndam-Pryce on the WB television series "Angel."

Most fans may have been introduced to Hannigan's work as good witch Willow Rosenberg in the successful television series "Buffy the Vampire Slayer." As Willow and Michelle in the early "American Pie" movies, Hannigan was known as the quirky, goofy character or sidekick. But, as "American Wedding" and an FHM magazine cover photo show, the scarlet-haired actress has grown up and become a sex symbol to some fans.

Some Facts About Alyson Hannigan

Born in Washington DC on Marh 24, 1974.

Hannigan began acting in Atlanta at the age of 4 in commercials.

In 1988, Hannigan was cast as Dan Aykroyd's daughter in the comedy "My Stepmother is an Alien."

The actress was cast as a regular in the 1989 to 1990's ABC sitcom "Free Spirit."

Hannigan made guest appearances on the television show "Roseanne" and "Almost Home."

The producers of "American Pie" originally wanted her to play the role of Heather, but she wanted to play the role of Michelle because she thought it was funnier, according to IMDB.com.

Postby Hemiola » Sat Aug 02, 2003 3:07 pm

Just wanted to add my expression of delight at AH's wonderful appearance on the Tonight Show. She and Jay seemed to get along very nicely. I liked this little bit, which occurred after she mentioned that she grew up in Atlanta--

Jay: You don't have a southern accent.

AH: I've been told I do when I'm very tired or drunk.

Hands up all those who would like to hear AH talk when she's tired or drunk:lol :devilish

Apart from that, there was the re-telling of the famous "video-store story". Jay amusingly asked if she recognized Kevin Eubanks from her videostore days, whereupon she looked at him and exclaimed:

"Hey there! You owe some overdue fines mister!":lol

On the whole, a truly charming appearance:D

Oh thank you so much for that link kajo, she is so beautiful there, my gosh so beautiful, the most beautiful ever maybe, and she was so comfy there not nervous like the tonight show. Oh and I love hearing her talk about this sitcom thing because it sounds like it's what she really wants to do. However, I wouldn't expect this for another year. I am glad she's taking her time to do it and not rushing to do some turkey, sounds like right now she can be picky, I just don't want her away for a whole year! She can do a movie meantime :p

Thanks for that clip, Kajo! I was bummed cuz I slept through her appearance on the The Today Show last week. It's exciting that Alyson is generating so much interest from the networks. I hope she does end up on a real network like NBC. Her talent deserves to be rescued from netlet obscurity.

Thanks for the link, kajo (I seem to be saying that a lot lately, you LinkMeister you! :p ). It was great to see Aly (even though the resolution of vid was crap, on my 56k connection anyway). BTW, the article on that link was the one (by Anthony Brezican, though uncredited there) I mentioned on the Aly Interview Thread.

Oh, and Hemiola, describing the Today Show interview said:

Quote:
all the networks have "expressed an interest" in doing something with her

Funny, so do I! :drool :fallen :devilish :thud

GG But not a sitcom . . . then again, if it was w/ *me*, it probably would be. :p Luv ya, Aly! :heart Out

I only just saw the clip that Kajo posted the link to. (thanks so much for that!) I agree with xita completely. Aly looks as beautiful if not more so than ever. Please never change that hairdo, hee. I really hope that the sitcom talk will lead to something, it might mean she can end up on TV over here again as well regularly. If only. :heart
