Exclusive: Private Practice Taps into Buffyverse Once Again

First, there was Amy Acker (aka Angel's "Fred"). She guest-starred on Private Practice's Season 2 premiere (and next can be seen on Fox's upcoming Dollhouse).

More recently (and as first reported by me), you got Alexis Denisof/"Wesley."

Who will be the next former denizen of the Buffyverse to make an appointment with the doctors of Oceanside Wellness? It's Amber Benson, I can tell you exclusively.

What brings Buffy's Tara to Addison's work digs? Sources tell me she'll be playing a young woman who in the aftermath of being brutally attacked seeks not just medical care ... but perhaps something more.

Benson appears in this season's 18th episode, which is tentatively slated for mid-March. Private Practice, of course, now airs Thursdays at 10, leading out of Grey's Anatomy.

So, who from BtVS and/or Angel is left unaccounted for that you long to be reunited with on the smaller screen?

Amber's appearence is reason enough for me to tune to a t.v. show I've never heard of before. Now if the wardrobe people can put Amber into one of those hospital gowns that opens at the back with a drawstring, I'll be happy.

not exactly, he speaks Brasilian, I know it's the same language but it does sound kinda different. He has a Brazilian girlfriend and a stephson in Fortaleza

I´m a portuguese teacher (non-praticant, thank god o/) and World´s portuguese and Brazil´s portuguese is REALLY different, almos another language...

I've never watched 'Private Practice' (nor 'Grey's Anatomy' for that matter), but I did catch the show last night. Amber was in a plotline with about 4 other stories as a woman who was carjacked and receives psychological assistance in her recovery from the attack.
The first scene was a bit rough to watch, as she was pretty badly beaten in the carjacking, but the episode takes place over a few months and she is the lovely AB we are accustomed to seeing (more or less).
I didn't take the episode, but if I catch it in reruns, I might record her part of the story.

I watched the episode last night. It is not a show I normally watch, but I can say this about AB's appearance:

1. As the poster wrote above, her first appearance was startling, and difficult to look at, with make-up showing her beautiful face so badly beaten up. It was as if someone had taken a jackhammer to one of the faces on Mt. Rushmore....

2. The acting was generally very good, especially the moments when her character exhibits the terror she feels as she starts to remember the horror of the attack.

3. It was satisfying to see her character finally work up the courage to confront her attacker in court.

Summing up, AB's appearance was was enjoyable, and the acting was excellent (I expected nothing less ), On the whole, though, I much more enjoyed her appearances on "Cold Case" and "Supernatural".

I was so upset I was practically yelling at the screen... which in itself is embarrassing, but still you just don't beat up Amber Benson!
