Tara Turning 30...(Now 40!)

Tara would have turned 30 today if...well, if things obviously hadn't gone the way they did ! I know the show's been off for ages but I figured it was worth a mention.

Happy (Belated) Birthday, Tara!

I had never seen BtVS until a few months ago and it was a revelation: wit, character growth, drama, comedy, true friendship, passion. I was utterly drawn in. Then season 4 and Tara . . .

She has a luminous quality. I know that she was beautifully lit but there was a glow inside her, too. I've dated a lot of shy girls and am married to one. Amber caught an authentic version of shy; poignant and lovely.

As a high school girl perpetually falling in love with best friends, it was lovely seeing their relationship unfold and see their growing passion and commitment.

It was a breakthrough in TV, a breakthrough for so many other people, and a breakthrough in my heart; their love is so deeply touching.

I could go on forever, I bet all of us could!!!!

Happy Birthday Tara! It's incredible so much time has passed *sigh*. I only discovered BTVS pretty late. And I gotta admit, in the beginning I didn't like Tara that much. I was still living in the illusion Willow and Oz belonged together. And when Tara entered the fray, I was clueless for a verrrrry long time.

But she grew on me. Especially when I saw how much she meant to Willow... So I loved Tara because Tara loved Willow.

Now I just love them.

BtVS really did 'jump the shark' in season sux - apart from some odd, decent, episodes.

Technically, it can be argued that if you're going by the original air date of Nov 7th, Tara's birthday would be on the 8th.

WILLOW: Okay. Guys, now remember, you have to be at the Bronze by eight.
Everyone looks blank.
BUFFY: Bronze.
WILLOW: Tomorrow night! Tara's birthday!

However, if I go by the date the episode aired at my house, Nov 5th,Tara's birthday would be on the 6th I don't see a problem with celebrating Tara's birthday in October. Libra is much more fitting for her than Scorpio. Consider this: If the episode had aired the previous Tuesday and, using the actual airing as her birthdate, then Tara's birthday would be on Halloween. I kinda dig that idea.

Celebrating her special day in October or November really doesn't matter.. just keep happy thoughts here and celebrate.

So, I started this post 10 years ago (apparently on the wrong day?! Actually I've noticed this about a few posts, I wonder if there was some tech majiggery that made things go a bit skewy…)

Anyway, today, Tara turns 40 and I think we all know we would follow this middle-aged queen anywhere!
