Kiss the Bride - amber in new movie

Amber is filming a movie with Tori Spelling?
cool!

http://www.hollywood.com/movies/fulldetail/id/3576083

Synopsis:
In high school, Matt and Ryan were best friends. More than friends, actually. But in the ensuing ten years, they've lost contact. So when Matt receives an invitation to Ryan's wedding he's surprised--especially that Ryan is marrying a woman! Matt interrupts his ideal alternative lifestyle to return to his hometown. He plans to rescue his former love from whatever "she-devil" has trapped him into this huge mistake. On the other hand, Ryan's perky fiance Alex takes quite the liking to Matt. Is she very cunning, disarmingly ditzy, completely adorable--or all three? As Matt tries to rekindle the old flame, Ryan is intent on putting out any sparks. Ryan dismisses their old romance as just a high school thing, but Matt realizes Ryan may still be the love of his life. All the while, Matt must deal with "his new best friend" Alex, the two families, and a hometown he thought he'd left entirely in the past. As the wedding day fast approaches (like a meteor hurtling toward ground zero), old feelings resurface and secrets are revealed. Each of them must balance the past with the present, and make a choice that will determine the rest of their lives.

That's creepy. Reading the summary I had the feeling Amber would have been perfect as Alex. But Tori Spelling? Come on, she is untalented and only ever became an actress who was employed because of her connection to Aaron Spelling. And if Matt, Ryan and Alex are the main characters Amber only will have a supporting part anyway. Don't like that thought.
She's not drivin stick anymore?

Sounds to me like a gay-version of My Best Friend's Wedding.

I was thinking the exact same thing. I did not care much for that movie, eventhough I am rather fond of romantic comedies and of both Julia Roberts and Cameron Diaz. Anyway, maybe it will turn out to be more original than this summary sounds. Surely it will be better than some of the other movies Amber has chosen to act in. Tori Spelling being in it is a good enough reason for me to make me watch this one. I like her, I have not seen her in much aside from the sin of my youth show that I used to watch every week and I thought she was great in ´A friend to die for´.

We screened Kiss The Bride at our film festival in October. Amber was amazingly funny and sexy in it, but it was sadly not a huge part. She was pretty much the only enjoyable thing about the movie. The great thing for Amber is that we had a huge turnout, at least a few hundred, and that means mucho exposure! You can check out our write-up of the movie:

http://www.imageout.org/2007/07_program39.htm
Towards the end of her life, Judy Garland was approached by a drunken fan who blurted to her, "Judy, don't forget the rainbow." to which Ms. Garland replied, with a flick and swish of her feather boa, "Darling, how can I forget the rainbow? I have rainbows coming out of my ass!"

I cannot praise Amber enough for continuing her support of GLBT-themed movies. This one seems like another funny (gay) romp off the hands of C. Jay Cox. I can definitely see his trademark style from the trailer, even though the only other movie I've seen from his is Latter Days. Can't wait to see Amber in this and I'm actually really curious to know the outcome of the plot!

Couple of pictures of Amber in this JJ post on the film (you'll need to scroll down):

I think the one in the bottom right corner, in the dark jacket, is especially sexy.

Both photos of Amber are particularly arresting in different ways.
The one cited above is sultry and seductive but the full length one of her staring over the mannequin with those azure eyes boring into your soul is devastating.

I just finished watching the DVD of "Kiss the Bride" and preachin' to the choir time up front, Amber displays her incomparable range of nonverbal acting skills again speaking volumes with a smirk, a raise of an eyebrow, and the Tara-esque silent playing with the hair tic. Her impeccable sense of comic timing is as sharp as ever and can join the ranks of film comediennes like Lucille Ball and Myrna Loy.
She also gives a hilarious masterclass in acting drunk and then does a terrific pratfall backwards. Too bad they didn't cut the scene back into the movie since it's in the trailer but it's in the deleted scenes for posterity, at least.
The film's message of tolerance, compassion, and respect for the insane passion which loves brings has never been more needed in the aftermath of the California Prop.8 debacle. Love knows no narrow-minded constraining judgmental labels that Pentacostal zealots wish to impose on it to bring order to their threatened existences...threatened by whom? I always wonder but shall walk away from Speaker's Corner in Hyde Park and just exhort everyone to view the film
