Wow. I'm always so amazed by Amber's singing ability. I wonder why she hasn't gotten more into music with a voice like that. It couldn't be because she's busy or anything... :-D

OMG that was so freakin' cool! Thanks for posting the link. Amber rocks! She should totally release an album. That laugh at the end was priceless.

i'm not sure i heard amber on this song... maybe back up vocals? what we were supposed to be hearing? cause i just heard adam busch and someone else with an even worse voice than his (sorry, but i've seen c.r. live and absolutely loathe them).

I've listened to this song three times and I still don't hear Amber. Is it just me or....

Hey all,
Amber has a mellifluous voice and can her take her place as a contemporary folk interpreter.
"Tom Dooley" is one of the trad.folk songs steeped in macabre imagery invoving gruesome death and the heartbreak of loss.
She has the crystal clear pitch of say Joan Baez in one of her live recordings and the hearty laugh at the end even endears her to me more.
I can deny chicks in chainmail nothing.

Ha that was great April... thanks for sending me the song. My favourite bit had to be the laugh at the end. Amber truly has a rather unique laugh.

Such a beautiful voice...at times bell-like and others raw and emotional...and the laugh! Makes me think of a favorite song of mine which also has a great laugh at the end that makes it all the better...Mercedes Benz...of course Amber sounds nothing like Janis Joplin...but she puts her soul in it...which is very much the same :x

Of all the renditions of Tom Dooley that I've heard, this is by far my favorite. Amber has just the right voice for the material. Maybe it's my bluegrass fan/music nerd side talking, but I really think she should produce an album of folk or bluegrass music. Preferably with the excellent Common Rotation backing her up. I would definitely get it. (Hey, I bought ASH's Music For Elevators, and that was a cool album.)
