Robin Peters of Based-based Dreamscape Cinema wraps production in mid-July on his third feature in three years, the independent comedy-drama “Angst.”
Peters’ co-writer Michael Muhney (“Veronica Mars”) stars as a an insensitive young actor who goes undercover as an old man to land a role in a Broadway-bound play, and is forced to learn respect for his elders to rebuild his life and relationships.
“It’s like ‘Tootsie’ or ‘Mrs. Doubtfire’—they don’t know he’s not old,” Peters said. “We got incredible performances all around” from a cast that includes Eddie Jones (“The Terminal”), Pat Morita (“The Karate Kid”), Max Gail (“Barney Miller”), Adrienne Frantz (“The Bold and the Beautiful”) and Amber Benson (“Buffy the Vampire Slayer”).
Peters, who writes and directs under his first and middle name Robin Christian, raised the under-$500,000 budget from private investors.
He plans to wrap post within six months and directly approach studio contacts for distribution.
“We’ll shoot for a theatrical release,” Peters said. “We’re very confident we’ll get video and cable down the road. We’re doing high quality films with great character actors that will carry the story.”

Michael stars as Louis, one of the bumbling burglars in this dark comedy.
Filming starts on June 20 for a new Dreamscape Cinema project starring Michael, Eddie Jones and Pat Morita. A new indie… more details soon
Michael has recently wrapped a movie "the untitled dirty" that is currently in post-production.
In this dark comedy from director Amber Benson, a pair of bumbling burglars break into what they think is an unoccupied house...only to discover that the family they've come to rob is actually asleep inside.
Trying to remedy the botched burglary, the would-be robbers take the family hostage in hopes of securing some cash.
Too late do they realize their mistake; that their hostages are more dysfunctional than they first appear. Slowly the burglars find themselves embroiled in the family's problems until it becomes apparent that they are the ones being held hostage, ensnared in a war of murderous intent.
