Aly to appear at the Emmys

LOS ANGELES (Zap2it.com) First-time nominee Zach Braff, cult heroine Alyson Hannigan and "Entourge" star Adrian Grenier will all be taking part in the Emmy Awards next week.

The three join "House" star and nominee Hugh Laurie, soon-to-be president Geena Davis and Chris O'Donnell as the latest additions to the roster of presenters at the 57th annual awards, set for Sunday, Sept. 18 on CBS. Ellen DeGeneres is hosting the show.

The Academy of Television Arts and Sciences also says it will pay tribute to victims of Hurricane Katrina by having presenters and performers wear magnolias, the state flower of both Louisiana and Mississippi. Information on donating to relief efforts will be provided throughout the broadcast.


Braff earned his first Emmy nomination this year for outstanding lead actor in a comedy for "Scrubs." It's also his first time as a presenter at the awards. In fact, all six of the latest presenters will be making their on-stage Emmy debuts.

Laurie, who's up for best actor in a drama series, is the only other nominee among the group. Grenier is the first representative of an HBO series among the presenters, while Davis (ABC's "Commander in Chief"), Hannigan (CBS' "How I Met Your Mother") and O'Donnell (FOX's "Head Cases") all star in new series this season.

She will be once she gets on a show that can give her a consistently good role and has enough audience to give her sufficient exposure to enter the minds of emmy voters. She will have more to do on "Veronica Mars" next season and now that she is working with talented people there and on her new sitcom, next year's Emmy may well include her as a nominee/winner.

That's really wonderful. I think for her it's another step into more popularity. Maybe it means that she will there as a nominee or even a winner one day. Hope the new show get's her a lot more credit than she has now.

Note to self: Must watch/tape the Emmy's. I wonder what she'll be wearing? I'm thinking this even will be more subdued than usual due to the hurricane disaster, much like the post 9/11 events. Still, it'll be nice seeing her present at such a high profile event. It'll mean many new pictures for us to behold/ drool over.

Aly's little segment and the couple of minutes right after were by far the best part of the Emmy's. I loved that the introduction Aly made was for Kristen Bell singing and dancing the theme from "Fame". I had no idea Kristen was even going to be there so it was a very pleasant bonus.

I don't watch too many mainstream shows these days so I really had no idea who half the people were who won, but stickin around to see Aly's lil bit was defiantly worth it! She looked so grown up and gorgeous!

I watched E Entertainment and saw Aly on the red carpet, but by the time the show actually started I had passed out. I hope they will repeat it soon, I want to see her on stage and I would love to see Kristen Bell sing. I prefer Aly with the long hair she had at the AW premiere, but it is not important, she was very cute and nice, as always. Good publicity for her.

I thought the whole show was great, then "and from "how I met your mother" Alyson Hannigan and that doogie howser dude...i nearly fell off my couch!! DAMN she is hot!! Good to see her!! I hope the australian broadcasters get their act together and put that show in here! but i wont hold my breath! Oh, and different subject, but did anyone else see the total aggression between lauren graham and jennifer love hewitt!!!?? it was hilarious!
