JOSS at the Bronze tonight, 10pm

There's a notice up at the UPN site that JOSS will be online at the Bronze, Nov. 6, 10pm EST. In the past he's often showed up on Tuesday nites for feedback. My guess is that he always at least checks the board to see how people are reacting to the show. (Wouldn't you?)

That would be a great time for a kindle of Kittens to show up to say supportive things about W/T and the show in general. It would also lessen the likelihood of one jerk ruining his (or any one else's) day by saying something mean or stupid. Some people are going to be critical just because he tried something different. It would be a good time for us to show our appreciation.

Considering the state of the W/T relationship at this point, I'd say it would definitely be a good time to show support for them. Maybe he'll drop some typically cryptic hint about them. At this point I think a lot of us will take anything we can get.

We know Joss listens to the fans- he's said so on many occasions. I'm sure if he hears "we love Willow and Tara" often enough it will translate into more W/T screentime.

After watching the "behind the scenes" download on the UPN site, i know they've all worked their tails off on this ep. Of course, anyone who's ever worked on musical productions knows that the only way to get choreography and choral numbers down right is endless repetition, so it must have taken a lot longer than the usual 5 or 6 days to put this together.

For anyone who hasn't checked it out, don't let a slow modem or worries about being spoiled deter you from downloading and listening to Tara's song, "I'm Under Your Spell." It's really beautiful and the whole song is there, i think. Amber has the sweetest voice.

we should be wary though about oversupport. because i've also read an interview with either joss or one of the writers recently about how often when there's overwhelming fan support for something they enjoy doing just the opposite. *Joss makes me paranoid*

i think it was one of the dark horse interviews, not terribly sure. sorry, when i remember i'll edit in a link.

Prolly don't need to ask...but if there is a good stuff posted could it be re-posted here somewhere.

I have been to the Bronze a grand total of once. Nothing aganist it, it just is not my style. Maybe I prefer to keep the illusion of the "fourth wall" a little more.

I just gotta give a thundering shout out to my kids. They inspire me, they make me make them work harder, and they always come through. First time I heard Tony sing it was at a charity function, I was cringing, he was gonna sing "ever breath you take" to a tape, it couldn't go well... ten seconds into it and, in the immortal words of a friend of mine, I think I'm a little gay. He's the golden throat. And James, who always tells me to do everything I dream of, then brings that intense voice and those cheekbones along for the ride... Amber... just, you know... Amber....

i mention those three in particular cause listening to them sing at my house really did light the fire to write them a musical. But EVERYBODY did such wonderful work, I can't even start. And not just the players -- wardrobe, lighting, set dec -- eveybody worked so hard on that ep, and UPN went to the Fuggin' MATTRESSES to get it out there to people. I'm very grateful. With the love and the hugging and also the gayness, where appropriate.

so, a few things: Tom Whedon is in fact my Dad. He also used to write musicals before he worked in TV, so today he is either very proud or changing his name.

By the by, I'm LOVIN' next weeks ep. Michelle branch works great in it - I saw her in boston ('cause of Jesse) and one song completely gave me the feeling I wanted for ep 8. Didn't love it on the album though (overproduced) So Michelle and the boys recorded like the live version while touring, so it's not gonna sound like anything else, which is nice. Then she went out and became this big noise, which is great (she's very cool), and is playing on the ep her music helped shape. Synergy -- it's overwhelming.

Adam Busch is great, isn't he? All those guys. Jeez, this is just my night for praisin' people, isn't it? Well, they deserve it.

And no, I wasn't thinking of "Now/Soon/Later" when I wrote "I'll never tell", but is there a better song in the world? My mother played Desiree in summerstock, she was the only one who ever dragged out that old warhorse "Send in the Clowns" and got TEARS from me. Hell of a woman.

No more shoutouts! Certainly not to Chris Beck and Jesse Tobias, the musical geniuses who guided me through this whole thing. How about Chris' overture? Trivwise, Jesse plays in Splendid, who has been on the show twice, is a great friend, handled the more rockin' end of the orchestration (but he and chris blended pretty seamlessly) and is also musical director and lead guitarist for Michelle Branch, who's appearing on the show next week. Whew!

Hopefully it still plays as a dramatic piece though, not a hodgepodge.

Gods i love that man.. and he really does love our Amber!! YAY! Then again how dosen't eh?
Me, being heavily into musical compositons of all types, was just blown away by the ways in which the pieces put together. The orchestrations and the melodic lines, though simple, were incredible. And of course thats the hardest thing to do, to write a tune thats simple and memorable. (k sounding like a big dork now, so i'll stop babbling).
Okay so i admit that it wasn't
LA BOHEME but it's still pretty good. And so I too stand and say BRAVO!! to Joss, Chris and Jesse

1) What does Hemnoy mean? Is it just some nonsense Joss made up?

2) Which song was If We're Together?

Sad to hear they'll cut Dawnie's ballet. That was great and really one of her few big moments.
